Maine Lobster Thermidor Topped/Stuffed with Scallops
EM H.

During our overnight stay in Cape Cod on Sunday, July 21, 2013, DJ and I met up with the newlyweds, Deb & Anthony, for dinner at Dolphin Restaurant, a recommendation by the Inn Keeper where they were staying, LAMB & LION INN. Nestled along the picturesque coastline in Barnstable, MA, Dolphin Restaurant is a Cape Cod classic renowned for its gracious and inviting atmosphere. The establishment, adorned with white picket fencing and perfectly groomed landscape, exudes a charming New England ambiance. Inside, the comfortable atmosphere is refined with a cozy bar adjacent to a more formal dining room with tables elegantly dressed in crisp white linens, toile, and a nice fireplace. Embracing a legacy of fine dining, Dolphin Restaurant dazzles guests with an unforgettably delightful culinary experience. Their menu specializes in seafood offerings and is rich in comfort food dishes as well, featuring mouthwatering options that showcase the essence of coastal dining. Anthony, Deb and I all ordered the Maine Lobster Thermidor Topped/Stuffed with Scallops, an expertly crafted and elaborately presented dish that was decadently rich and flavourful. The shellfish was luscious; however, I did gross out on the unremoved red lobster eggs, yuck. DJ had the Pistachio-Crusted Halibut with Fruit Salsa, an exquisite dish of a symphony of flavours which he enjoyed. Our delicious dinner was complemented with extremely warm and friendly service. A wonderful time and quality dining experience we had. Dolphin Restaurant's intimate but inviting atmosphere combined with exceptional service, delectable plates and dedication to quality create an alluring culinary destination, making them stand out as a hidden gem, enchanting customers with fine dining Cape Cod style.

Great service, Mitch is the best server! Great quilts food and drinks! If you're visiting the area, this place is a must 10/10!!

We took my parents here for an anniversary dinner. Of note, parties of four or more must call at least 24 hours in advance to make a reservation. When we arrived we were seated right away. Tasteful artwork and nautical memorabilia line the walls. There are tea candles on each table. Our server Amy was very attentive and graciously answered our (many) questions about different dishes on the menu. We were served crackers and rolls before our meals arrived. I also sampled some of the chowder. Everybody at the table was very satisfied with their meals and two of us took leftovers home because the portions were so generous. The only reason I give four stars inside of five is because the restrooms smelled truly awful - every other part of my experience there was wonderful.

Have been by this place many times and never noticed it. I'm very glad I tried it out. The interior is old Cape and it was an older crowd but it was still pleasant. The waitress we had was very attentive and nice as well. I had a chicken sandwich which was great and it had the biggest chicken breast I have had on a sandwich! Also make sure you try the amaretto bread pudding, it was fantastic! We all enjoyed our food and are glad that we stopped in.

Had a great experience here recently. Got the scallop casserole and steak. Both were great. Nice ambiance inside. But the service from our waiter Gustavo was outstanding. Will definitely be returning when in the area.

The best scallops i have ever had. Also buffalo cauliflower a must try. Service was welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Chowder was excellent, Scallops in lobster sauce, outstanding. Squash was flavored just right.

If you like stuffy uppity Cape Cod this is the place for you. Outrageous lack of service, it's as if they don't want your money. Awful

An amazing lobster roll!…read more We've driven by this on the way to the Hyline boat a million times. I thought it was like an Urban Outfitters, until we started singing 'My Sharona' and my bride looked it up. Pleasantly surprised that it was a seafood place. Well, burgers and dogs too, but I'm a pescatarian so... The onion rings are incredible... like the old A&W on Route 139 in Marshfield in the 1970s. Service was great. Plenty of parking too - just watch carefully before you get back on the main road to get to 6. Prices were reasonable. Very big and large facility, and it looks like it could have been designed by an architect during the COVID Crisis of 2020 meaning it is very roomy.

It was my first time at the Knack and I will be back and I will tell all my friends…read more The food was delicious! I have been craving a grilled hotdog all Summer and it was just as I imagined. It was just like I cooked it on the grill. The girl behind the counter was writing exactly what we wanted and she came through with just what we told her. The place was super clean and the bathroom was immaculate. My daughter got a clam with bellies on a grilled hot dog roll yummy my next visit will definitely be a Clam Roll Sandwich. The food was reasonable and worth it. A Must Go to place. I Love This Place. It's in the Cape but now off season so not too busy

I had a delicious cocktail and followed the oysters with a yummy goat cheese salad served with roasted pistachios. My husband had the croque monsior which not only was delicious, it was huge and served with a leafy greens salad. I tried Pain D'Avignon because I was looking for something different and I haven't been to a…read morepatisserie for years. The interior is pretty basic, small tables and small chairs, so a person of substance such as myself didn't find the seating comfortable. I tried: - French onion soup: this should have been an easy win. I found the Gruyere cheese to be overly thick, and the broth to be heavy handed on the wine. - Steak tartare: this was a good dish. The beef was thin cut, smooth, and the egg was cooked just right so the yolk added richness that then got offset by the capers. Due to the richness, you may actually find that this could be all you need for a meal, despite it looking small. - Croque Madame: le sigh, what a failure this sandwich was. Over easy egg? Not today, over medium, so not much runny yolk but a thicker one. This is a gigantic salt bomb, in addition. They serve your water in tiny glasses and every bite led to downing an entire glass of water. It's good they were on top of refilling the glasses, but even then I finished a quarter of this before I couldn't take it any more. I did saunter over to the counter where they have a lot of good looking pastries, so we'll see if the ones I bought end up redeeming this place. As it stands, I can't recommend this establishment unless you'd like to try the tartare.
