It's the typical mexican food restaurant, complete with wall murals and green booths. Nothing exciting, and probably only warrants three stars on an absolute scale. But after three awful restaurant experiences in Tehachapi (traveling through), I'll give it four stars just because the wait staff hustled, the chips and salsa kept coming, and the food was reasonably good and no surprises. If you are looking for a place to take your family to eat after a long day on the road, I think this is the safest bet in town (besides fast food or Denny's), and worth the few minutes drive from the hotels downtown. read more

We came here for a late lunch early dinner and was not disappointed. Great Cadillac margaritas along with salsa and chips started our meal off. Had dinner salads which were huge then our main entrees came. Everything was nice and served up hot. Crispy ground beef taco was very greasy but good taste. Cheese enchiladas traditional tasting along with their rice. My hubby had the chile Rellenos plate and loved it. Reasonable prices on all of their foods. My wife, daughter, and I ate at the Tehachapi location and my wife and I have eaten at the Boron location . The meals my wife and I had at the Techachapi location made us sick the next day plus during the meal My wife ordered Chile Relleno and the chilies still had the seeds in them and were hard. She sent it back and received another the same way. When eating at the Boron location this problem did not happen. I had steak and lobster. The lobster was chewy and the steak not cooked properly. The only compensation for our troubles was $3.50 off the bill. We will never eat there again! Plus we don't need to be ill all day the next day! read more

This place is ridiculous, I've ordered over the phone multiple times and have been told that the wait would be 15-20 min. When I arrive 20 minutes later I have to wait an additional 15-20 min. Just walked out of this place. We were seated for happy hour, proceeded to order $50 worth of drinks and appetizers. The waiter then informed us that we had to move to a table instead of a booth in order for them to honor happy hour. The table she was referring to was 5 steps from where we were seated. This is 3pm in the afternoon and the place is dead anyways! The rude waitress then came out and literally took our food from table!!!! Rude rude rude! If i could give them ZERO stars I would! I ordered guacamole and got a tiny bowl for 7.99. It wasn't good, either. It was tasteless and, in places, bitter where the skin from the avocado pit had gotten in it. It came with refrigerator-cold chips. I had a quesadilla that was pretty good but I don't think I'll go back. read more

They came to table quickly but portion for the price was small.Also the food wasnt very hot. The price was a little steep for the food. Sunday brunch is excellent. Great menudo for those of you wanting authentic Mexican breakfast. Buffet includes breakfast and lunch options, including omelet and waffle service, eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage, chile rellenos made from scratch, beans and rice, ribs, enchiladas, do you need more? Well, this was my go-to Mexican place in Tehachapi until now. Prices were good, food was good, service was great. Unfortunately, I'm not happy any more. I've been on a carb restricted diet. It was no problem for me to order substitutions. However, the last two times I've been there (unfamiliar waiter, but the same one both times), any time I want to make a substitution, it's going to cost me $2.00 extra. I don't know if it's a new policy for the restaurant or if it's just the waiter, but I'll find a place that will make substitutions without the surcharge. Unfortunately, that extra 2 bucks had to come out of tip money.... it's all I had. read more

Gave it a second try recently.... Not good. I'm not even that picky, I just want delicious food and standard service. Went for lunch on a weekday, around two. Few customers but waiter seemed uninterested and had a hard time understanding what we ordered (tostada and fajita burrito). Burrito came out filled with beans ("no beans please") and the flavors in both were just blah. Got our order to go but didn't really enjoy any of it. This is easily the best Mexican food in town. Everything I've had is delicious and the service is always great. Their bartenders mix drinks very competently and their happy hour prices are great. Eating here is always a great experience and I'm quite happy our town has a restaurant of this quality. Also, their food and drinks tend to be slightly cheaper than their competitors. read more

always great service sometimes theres a lot of ruckess in the kitchen but i have never had a bad meal here. gilbert the owner is always nice and always makes a point to greet us. we always get seated quickly and get our chips only a couple of seconds after being seated. the fajitas are awesome and the handmade tortillers are the best. but if you go in on tuesday the wont be handmade because the maker is off that day just a warning. read more

I am beyond frustrated with this place. Let me start out by saying the food is good. My husband and I LOVE the carne asada burritos and the wet sauce that is on them. I would love it even more if they had not gotten our order wrong the last EIGHT times. I have a young child and take out is the way to go for us right now. I prefer my carne asada burrito with no salsa, pico de gallo or guacamole on it. My husband doesn't mind that stuff. I have tried every different combination of how to order and every time I say NO S A L S A and top YES S A U C E, I get no sauce whatsoever. This time I said pico de gallo and guacamole on the side for both (thinking they could comprehend it easier that way) and this time we got EVERYTHING on the side including sauce, a very small amount, and no cheese. I sincerely don't understand how hard it can be. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. I have tried to call to speak to a manager to let him know he needs to retrain his people or something. But no answer, I will try again later. I have NEVER written a review or called to complain with any restaurant but this is just absurd. Sorry Domingo's we really enjoy your food. Just wish I could get what I wanted at least once. read more
