This place is amazing. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious. Every table gets the wings as well they should. These things are to die for. Crispy moist spicy sweet. Everything you look for in a chicken wing. The ramen is a big bowl of delicious traditional Japanese flavors that leave you satisfied. The decor is Instagram worthy asian american that transports you away from the town center. Only negative is that service is a bit slow. Our drinks from the bar took over 10 minutes each time i went and our server said he would be back with our check twice before actually bringing it. Maybe because I got irritated that I waited for 55 minutes when I was waiting just by myself and I also got there at 5ish and there were empty spaces facing the kitchen. Visit 2: Drove in the monsoon-like rain to get my family here so we could all try it together. Spent money on appetizers and drinks whilst waiting for tables (75 min wait). Server forgot one of the appetizers and got it to us when we were already getting seated. Had to go back to the bar for it. Foremost, the manager was also unwilling to seat my family together when there were tables empty next to us, so we left. It was an all around really upsetting experience. read more

So where should I start: the long wait, people being sat before us and we were here before them, or my wife ordering food and not getting it. So my family, wife and two kids decided to try this place. My oldest daughter loves Ramen so we THOUGHT this would be a good experience. We arrive and told it was an hour and 15 minute wait. Got the text at 5:40pm. I will admit it was busy and the place was packed. As I start to observe people coming in take notice of the parties of four. So at the 56 minute mark a party of four that came in after us was sat. My wife got up to see what the problem was and she was told according to seating chart they were here before us, which wasn't the case. At the one hour and 10 minute mark another family was sat the clearly came in after us. At this point I'm ready to go but because this is for my daughter we stuck it out. We finally get sat and we have a speed talking waitress. Oh before I forget, our table wasn't set. So she clearly takes our order, wings and calamari for appetizers. Each of us ordered and entry. 10 minutes pass and everyone gets their meal except my wife. We chalked it up to the crowd and waited. Other food comes out to other tables and we finally ask the waitress, where's my wife's food. The waitress says she didn't order anything when clearly she did. She even showed us her pad. Domu is our go to spot for ramen. Their broth is stewed for hours and the end result is definitely in the taste. Our favorite is the Richie Rich: savory and rich in flavor just like the name implies. If you're looking at apps, be sure to get an order of the Domu wings (sooo deliciously crispy) or grilled calamari. They do offer a weekly night where you can build your own ramen if you want to get adventurous! The important thing - food on point. The broth for both the tonkotsu (pork bone) and shio chicken bone broth is really delicious and flavorful, thus the ramen does not disappoint. That being said- the service lacks, my waitress didn't know what a Chardonnay was and kinda lacked ability to problem solve when they were out of what my boyfriend ordered it took him watching me eat my whole meal before it was communicated to us. It was pretty simple but kinda made awkward dinner for us eating out that night. The manager was super kind and let us know that everything was on the house. I think they are just busy spot and honestly with the sudden influx of what feels like 50 new restaurants in the town center is prob a staffing headache for a lot of spots. This place is the bomb! Awesome drinks, great ramen dishes both modern inspired and traditional. Also chicken wings, shishito peppers, rice bowl, steamed buns, & some dessert options. The drinks go down way too easy, for fun try a sake shotgun from a can (see picture). Whether you like heady mushrooms, pork belly, fried chicken thighs, bamboo shoots, and/or delicious soft boiled eggs, this place has all of that and more. I was happy to see the Town Center got with the ramen trend and added DOMU to their restaurants. I visited this location for the first time since they opened this past weekend with some friends. My fiance and I had been wanting to give DOMU a shot since we learned about its popularity in Orlando back in May but have yet to really try it out because of the extensive waits it always seems to have. I will say that we waited 75 minutes (which is nothing to the 2 plus hours I have been quoted in weekends prior to this one) and were satisfied with our experience. We had the wings appetizer which was probably my favorite item. I went with the Richie Rich for my entree and was not disappointed. The customer service was decent and the establishment was clean. Overall, I look forward to giving DOMU another shot in the future, but not sure if they are worth the wait. read more

I've eaten at DOMU one other occasion and am happy to report that on second visit, it remains consistent. I've been telling the boyfriend all about this place since I first went a couple of months ago because the Richie rich ramen was SOO good. He's not really a ramen guy, but suggested we go last night. We arrived at 5:15 and were told that they don't start seating until 5:30 so we took advantage of the happy hour at the bar area in the front of the building. They have some really great drink specials. At 5:35 we were seated at a traditional table but spotted another bar area where you could watch the food being made. I asked our hostess if we could be seated there instead, (because who wouldn't want to watch ALL the food), and we were promptly taken over. We also discovered that the house Sake is $5 for 250ml until 6:30 so we took advantage of that. I ordered the Richie rich again because I'm a sucker for pork belly and the miso broth it floats in is so flavorful. The boyfriend got a spicy ramen dish and was really pleased with his food, even noting that he couldn't wait to come back. This speaks volumes for a guy who "isn't really into ramen". We both got the in house made chili garlic oil and the Japanese chili paste, it's worth the extra couple of bucks to add this to your dish. The overall experience was wonderful and I highly suggest sitting at the bar area in the main dining room! I'm only removing a star because they seem to seat everyone at one time, 5:30, and it may take your waitress/waiter a bit to get to you because they just got sat 5 tables. Second time at DOMU but waiting long enough for the food to cook to write this review. DOMUs food is fine the ramen gets a 3. Notable downsides include the MSG tasting broth as well as the noodles. Unlike classic ramen noodles which are high in egg content, these came slightly glassy-like, meaning not enough egg. That's a big downside when coupled with the slight overcook of them. The chasu tends to be a little tough here which concerns me regarding the quality. Overall, this is a big let down when consider Karai which is a lot cheaper and way faster service. I had the classic tonkatsu black and the Richie rich. Both of these come with 2 pieces of chasu in pork broth. The portion size is average to slightly below average. Would expected more with a price of about 13 a bowl (as of this review). There is also a classic egg as well, which so far has not been too consistent. Sometimes it does come over cooked which is a total bummer. These two bowls are definitely the heavier types so don't if you want a lighter option, choose the chicken broth based options. Food service gets a solid 1 here. While we were sat, it took over 35 minutes to get the food to us. This is simply not ok even if they had a night where it was build your own ramen. Given this, if the restaurant knows it'll be a difficult feat, it should prepare more beforehand or just simply do away with the special. There is no real excuse here as they're trying to up charge anyways for the custom bowls. By the time the food got here the broth was lukewarm paired with stingingly hot noodles. Excellent combo I think not! If you want your ramen extra spicy, it's going to cost you for the side of spicy sauce ($1 to be exact!) (also without telling you??) The rest of the service was great the hard workers here always great you with a smile, though I would've liked if they checked back on us given how long the food took. Parking is a little crowded since it shares the lot with a few other places. Decor is inviting! They don't take reservations? Plan ahead! Bottom line: a start to a disappointing night! read more

Didn't even get to try the food, arrived here at 7:45 and was told that the wait was 60 mins. Insane for a wait at this time on a Sunday. Understandable since it just opened. Having a family who runs plenty of Asian restaurants was told the wait was 30 more mins once it was past an hour. It is now 8:50PM. That is not good customer service to start with, to have people come in and wait the time you told them but tell them it's an extra 30 mins or more for dinner. Ridiculous. Maybe try extending the hours to open early if this is a problem. Y'all have been open for days you should learn to manage a business properly instead of making customers wait. I've never been to a restaurant that has been this ridiculous in having people stand by for this long. One thing I gotta say about this restaurant: Great customer service. We were greeted right away by smiling hostesses. I love that!! I've noticed we went in during a rush and were told it was roughly an hour to an hour and a half wait. We went on a Saturday night, so expect it to be packed everytime and it's understandable why. We got sat less than an hour. I like how all the workers were doing something instead of just standing there. Hey at other restaurants workers stare off of space and leave dishes on tables for hours lol. But here I observed a lot of team work & couple of seconds just to clean a table. I loved how fast paced they were and how they made time to help each other even tho it was so busy, so that's a plus! FOOD: I heard so much hype about these DOMU wings so we had to try it. Went for Sunday lunch and was looking forward to trying out some of the dishes people were raving about, but they have a smaller menu for lunch (several apps and ramen and lots of drinks). It wasn't a complete bummer though because the meal still delivered. My sister and I shared the DOMU wings and they hit the spot. Super flavorful and a nice crunch, layered with a sweet, tangy sauce and lots of garlic. It was on the heavy side, so I was pretty stuffed by the time I got to the main course. I went with the Richie Rich while my sister opted for the Tokyo. I loved all the toppings in the Richie Rich, but the broth felt lacking. I personally liked the broth of the Tokyo better (it just felt more seasoned to my taste buds), but the pork belly in the Richie Rich was cooked to perfection. So tender to the bite. The noodles are deliciously homemade. My sister also ordered the Thai tea. I love Thai tea in general and this one was solid. Not too sweet, but I've had better, and it was a small glass for a whopping $3.50 but I ain't too mad about it. I was very content after the meal. The restaurant has a modern aesthetic and felt clean. Service was friendly and purposeful. They give you hot towels! We got our wings shortly and the ramen came right after. Overall, food and service was good. I give it a 4 just because of my personal bias for my all-time favorite ramen restaurant in Orlando and the pricing is more on the expensive side for the portion they give you. The good: the food was priced well. It was a good meal for $13, and overall I can't complain. I had to google everything, which was mostly a me problem (lol) but but I'm happy with it! The ramen is hand made, so I won't comment on the wait time. It was long, but it is hand made so I don't think I can complain. I know the sea urchin isn't alive so not fresh as what you get in NYC or west coast but for a little big town as Jax it was really good! Domu wings- crispy and although I didn't care for the sweet and spicy flavoring it wasn't bad. Gf liked it so much she ordered one to-go. But to each their own, isn't that what these reviews are about? Don't take them seriously and enjoy what you like and give places a try out yourself! Now onto the main squeeze ;), unfortunately when we were seated they ran out of the pork based broths; insert sad face. But we ordered great plan b's. The Vegan, Tokyo, and the Curry. It took longer for our ramens but I'm assuming this is due to a new food crew trying to get the hang of things in the kitchen. Nevertheless once the ramen came out we were devouring our foods. I loved my spicy miso vegan not as light as I'd thought but I didn't leave doing the walk of shame, it was flavorful. The Tokyo recommended by our waitress, my lady, Maria. It was light and delish. My sister's curry was AMAZ-BALLS! But I think this is one place in Jax that got the soft boiled egg right when it comes to incorporating it into the ramen dishes. This place is great. The best ramen I had outside of Tokyo. I had the Spicy Tonkatsu and my wife had the Tokyo style one. I must say, they were both excellent. We went on a Sunday afternoon so there was a little bit of a wait, but totally worth it. The only hiccup was that we sat at the bar in the hopes that we could have a tasty drink but the bartender was so rude and totally ignored us for the 20 minutes we were there. She looked like someone had pissed on her coffee that morning. I'm sure there's other bartenders other than her. So just be ware of a middle age blonde woman behind the bar. My family went to Domu Ramen and it was fantastic! My husband didn't think it was worth an hour wait (they don't take reservations, but I think if you arrive at 5 to put your name on a list, you'll get seated sooner ... they seat at 5:30). But I was so craving good ramen that I was fine with it. And in the end, I think it was worth it (maybe not if you have kids that don't sit well). However, they give you a buzzer *and* text you, so you can easily go shopping for a bit. All the servers were wonderful and attentive. The decor is beautiful, modern, hip. Guests are a mix from hip to families, to grandmas. The broth was excellent and flavorful, and they make their own noodles. Only disappointment was that my chasu pork was rather dried out in the middle, despite being in the soup. It's charred so maybe it gets over cooked and it's a result of the process? They are thick meaty slices with a lovely caramelized blackened edge. Maybe thinner slices and 3 of them rather than 2 would help alleviate that issue? That was my only gripe. The eggs are perfectly cooked. I wish they offered enoki mushroom as an add-on or made it one of the ingredients in some of the soups. Love the wooden spoons. One thing I wish they had on every table, was Shichimi Togarashi, or the hot pepper seasoning mix that you can add to soups. I didn't see it and forgot to ask if they had it. Perhaps you have to ask for it, but it really should be made available. Even tho they are kid friendly, not a lot of kid options (at least not my kid!). We got the Pigs in a Blanket for ours. Otherwise, we'd get one of the rice dishes with corn and pork probably. She liked the Pigs in a Blanket, and we loved it. Was nicely flavored. The Domu wings were delicious! Although I like a little more spice and less sour taste, these were pretty darn good. They are sooo crispy! Like, creme brûlée-sugar top coating-crispy! Literally! So amazing how they achieve that! I want to go back for their lobster roll sometime! Oh and their soft serve is awesome too. Flavor changes each week... it was taro over the weekend... I want to try the horchata! I wish they had lunch hours, but maybe they'll add them later. Went for the first time. Atmosphere and cleanliness: I loved the simple and minimalist decor. The bar area was definitely the most eye catching place. I also appreciated that the kitchen was an open area. Service: Was great, everyone was friendly from the host to the bartender to the waiter. We were never given any bad attitude or vibes. We had an hour wait so we decided to go to the bar and play some chess. Yeah guys they have small table top games you can play I have to say I liked everything but i was mostly impressed with the appetizers Food: I had the Lychee Martini and he had the Smoked Old Fashioned We ate some of the Domu Wings and I have to preach to y'all those were some of the best damn wings we've ever eaten. The skin was perfectly cripsy and the lobster bun holy shit! That's mostly what we gushed about like little school girls. For the ramen I had the Richie Rich, it was great new ramen to try for a Tonkotsu lover like me. Full of umami, it had a hint of shiitake mushroom and the pork was a flavor bomb. Phenomenal experience, food, and drinks. I'm so glad that Jax is really expanding its Asian cuisine options. When I passed DOMU while in the Town Center area, I quickly looked it up and bookmarked it for its opening. Since they're just opening up this location (they're already established in Orlando), they are currently not taking reservations and it is first come, first served. They open the bar at 5:00 and the restaurant at 5:30. Trust me, you'll want to get to the restaurant early and enjoy a drink or two at the bar because this place gets packed and the wait can be upwards to 90+ minutes. My boyfriend and I actually didn't know about the bar opening at 5:00, and foolishly walked in at 5:30 on a Sunday night thinking we were going to be one of the first patrons. We were stunned to see a packed waiting area and bar, and frustrated to learn the wait was already going to be more than 1.5 hours. We ended up leaving that night but returned the following day on Monday! Monday was still crazy. We arrived at 5:45, out our names down (we were told it would be approximately 40 minutes) and decided to kill time by strolling around the shopping area for a few minutes then made our way back to the bar for a drink. When we finally got seated, we were greeted with hot hand towels that they put water over to make expand. Nice touch for sure, as we were able to refresh ourselves before dinner. We ended up ordering the cheezus (cheese and corn) for our appetizer. It was definitely cheesy, but probably too much for two people to finish before having our own meals. I ordered the Richie Rich ramen and my boyfriend ordered the black tonkatsu. Both were bursting with flavor, but the broth is a little lighter compared to other top-tier ramen places I've been to in California and Japan. Nonetheless, this place is delicious. The noodles are all made in-house, which is a plus because you can taste the difference between those noodles and packaged stuff.
