Pretty good kbbq that stands out because of their offering of intestines. If you order their Don Blanc Combo, you'll get a grill with some veggies and small intestines, large intestines, and beef abomasum. I've never had it before and was honestly a little hesitant, but my friend had it in NYC earlier this month and pushed us to try it. The intestines come ready to eat already, but the point of the grill is to make them a bit crunchier. I tried them prior to being grilled and they were ok. Exactly what you would expect from intestines. But after, they were much better! Some of them were fatty and chewy, others had a bit more texture and flavor. It leaves a bit of oil after and if you order the fried rice, they'll throw it on your used grill and it'll cook in the oil. Great way to finish the meal. A large order of the combo served 6 of us pretty well. Staff was awesome here too. We messed up bad with the intestines and just let it sit on the grill until we actually burnt most of it (pro-tip: ask for help if you need it!). Our waiter, after telling us that we messed up bad, actually gave us a new grill and some new intestines so that we could re-cook it and actually enjoy our meal. Calling ALL KBBQ LOVERS... DON BLANC IS FINALLY OPEN!! I was so excited when this place was opening last year then COVID hit... definitely delayed their opening for a long time! So happy that it's finally here! They are currently in their soft opening while they continue to expand on their kitchen staffs. The restaurant has an upscale vibe with tables with a BIG circular grill in the middle that is the largest KBBQ grill I've ever seen! For a moment, I felt like I'm back in Korea. Don Blanc specializes in serving PREMIUM Mugifuji (麦富士) pork from Canada and grilled beef intestines. I got the Mugifuji pork belly ($29.95) and beef intestines combo medium ($60.95). The pork belly order came with 3 THICC cuts and they might just be the most beautiful cuts of pork belly I've ever seen. They have a beautiful pink color and the fat and meat layering were aesthetically pleasing. Our server told us it was his first day on the job, he helped with grilling the pork belly and even cut them into pieces! The pork belly was super tender, juicy, and crispy from the grill. SO GOOD. Loved it with the green onion and sprouts salad, ssamjang, and raw garlic! Honestly thick cuts are ALWAYS better than thin cuts! If you are a pork belly lover, you will LOVE this place. The beef intestines are for acquired taste and people who are in the know of this dish. The last time I had Korean beef intestines was in Sinchon, Korea and it was just incredible. This dish was delicious and fatty, I liked the sour and spicy sauce they serve with the intestines. My favorite pieces were actually the abdomasum which I actually don't know which part of the organ that is haha, but I really liked the texture. I usually like the daechang (large intestines), but they were a little too fatty for me. I also really liked their dwenjang jiggae (Korean fermented soybean soup) and house marinated kalbi (beef short rib). The kalbi was super tender and charcoal grilled so it has a nice charcoal aroma that I love. Service was incredible and they checked on us regularly. Prices is reasonable as well for the meat quality. Can't wait to come back to try more of their pork cuts! They will have premium beef (saw wagyu on the menu) too, but it is not available at the moment yet during soft opening. Wishing them a great grand opening! read more

A great place for high quality meat for korean bbq! The wagyu kkot sal was so tender and juicy, melted in my mouth. The marinated beef was the perfect ratio of sweet and savory. Absolutely love this place, not just for the quality of the food but the service and the ambiance was also impeccable. Music wasn't so loud like other places and we could actually have a conversation and enjoy each others company. Great place, great dinner! Staff was very welcoming from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out. We chose the dinner for 5 meal that included grilling all the mat cuts table side. But we basically like self service, there are two severs, one just came by and placed the meat on the grill, until it burned she didn't come back. And even the grill is burned like this, she didn't help us to change another one and placed another meat on it. The food is average, do not worth the price. Went here for the first time this past weekend! My bf chose and ordered at this place. We got the pork belly, pork jowl and wagyu brisket. It came with a complimentary stew, we got kimchi stew and it was so good. Plenty of tasty side dishes and the seafood pancake was basic. It was loud, so definitely not a date night place, more of a hang with friends type. Service was great, the employees were very observant and even cooked the pork belly for us! Only place in Bay Area that I know where you can get quality big/small intestines! It's usually empty when you arrive so getting a table is v easy. The service and presentation were top notch, and there's a wide variety of meats to choose from including the usual Kalbi and Bulgogi as well as Brisket and Beef Intestine. All of the cuts are the highest calibur, prime or wagyu, and you can definitely taste the quality. We also had a variety of ban chan, Kimchi Stew, Steamed Egg and a Bean Sprout Salad. It's pretty rare for a kbbq place to offer a wide assortment of intestines, so we had to check it out, and were not disappointed at all. Food was meh... too expensive for the portions of meat. Every meat items is at least $40, we got 3 meats for 3 people and 1 beer each and the bill came out to $210. It was an electric grill and no flames to bbq the food. Little Korean dishes and the salad was good. The restaurant wasn't super busy and the server came up to our table and started throwing all our meats on the grill and we were like ugh... we weren't even done with our food. Needless to say, they wanted us out of the restaurant. This was a bad experience as the meats were way overcooked. After we were done eating, we hung out at the table and was chit chatting while finishing our alcohol. They did not seem to rush us out of there so I don't get the reason why the server had to cook all of our meat. The place was way too loud and we were literally yelling at each other. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be returning as there are a lot of Korean bbq restaurants out there. I don't know how they got such rave reviews... $70 a person is too expensive when you can have AYCE for a lower price with much more selection of meats with smaller portions. read more

Friends and I came a little before the dinner rush. The food was good and you get LOTS with just one of the sets. Their kimchi pancakes were also very good! Only knocking one star off for the sub-par service towards the end of the meal when our server seemed to disappear and forget about us. She left out an order of fried rice (which by the end of the meal we weren't mad about because there was already more than enough food for us). Also, we initially got told there was only booster seats and no high chairs, only to see another table get a high chair later. Another server had to help close out our table so we could pay and leave, since our original server wouldn't even look our way anymore. Finally got a chance to check this place out. We went around 8:30-ish and there was no line. When we were seated, the server explained how the menu works, asked us if we prefer a type of meat more and gave us his recommendations based on that. We did the supreme pork set and an order of the large intestine. The pork set comes with a steam egg and a stew of choice. Everything came uncooked except for the pork ribs, which were amazing! The pork belly, pork jowl, prime shoulder butt and large intestine were all very good quality and came uncooked. The server occasionally comes help flip the meat and cut it for us when we are too busy stuffing our face. My favorite of the meal has to be the large intestine, which I believe is marinated because it was packed with flavors! My second favorite is definitely the pork ribs that came pre-cooked. But don't take that as the other options aren't great because they are also amazing! Meat quality definitely shines and brings out the pork flavor very well. Overall, I recommend this place.
