Such great service for a fast pace Kbbq restaurant that is always packed! They give good portions and the meat is always such good quality. Even their side dishes are quality and taste fresh! May was our server for the night and took great care of us.

Gopchang is kind of hard to find around the Bay Area but Don Blanc does it perfectly! The meat quality is amazing and service is very fast. We got the gopchang combo with pork jowl and pork belly as a la carte items. It comes with plenty of bonchan and lettuce wrap which is a great addition to the meat!

High quality meats cooked in front of you, Don Blanc is easily the best KBBQ in the northern bay. It's not AYCE, but the meat quality will easily leave you satisfied and full. The best options for groups is the Combo Set (you can always top off al-a-carte if needed). Brisket is excellent, as is the marinated galbi. Also solid are the seafood pancake, kimichi fried rice and tofu soup. Everything about Don Blanc just gives "satisfying meal" vibes. If I'm looking for a reliable, high quality KBBQ experience, this is the one I'm checking out any day of the week.

Great surprise in finding this gem in Oakland. We Yelped obviously and are appreciative of the great reviews. It was a great experience overall. There are a few delicious menu options available pork, beef, and combo including seafood. We opted for the dwaeji/*pork, plain and seasoned. We did originally order a side of chadol/sliced beef, but after seeing the amount of pork we cancelled it. It was still plenty of food. The banchons and ssam/lettuce were amazing. Of course there were sliced garlic and jalapenos and kimchi to grill as well. Also, we ordered beer of course, usually pork goes great with soju. But, I had to drive to our hotel still. The service was great and everyone was friendly. The location is a bit hard to fine and tucked away a little, was worth it. The space is pretty good size and comfortable. If you're not into k-bbq(?) there are a few other choices next door. Enjoy!

We came here on a Friday night with a party of 7 and had such a great experience! There's a convenient button at the table to call the servers, which made it so easy to get attention from staff whenever we needed anything. We ordered the combo sets, corn cheese, fried calamari, and of course, soju and some beers. Such a fun spot for celebrating, and enjoying a meal with friends. We'll definitely be back!

Don Blanc is our go-to spot for gopchang (small intestines) and daechang (large intestines). We've been here multiple times, and the quality and service are always top tier. On our most recent visit, we ordered the large intestine combo, which was served sizzling tableside on a grill. I recommend grilling the intestines until they're crispy on the outside while staying rich and juicy inside. Although the menu says it's for 4-5 people, our party of 3 (2 men, 1 woman) finished it easily. The portion felt a bit smaller than on previous visits, but we were still very satisfied because the quality of the innards was excellent--no smell or gamey taste at all. Don't knock it till you try it--this is one of the best spots for gopchang and daechang in the area. Parking: There are limited spots in the small plaza, but we've never had issues finding street parking in the residential area on 44th Street.

Samgyeopsal (Pork belly) was grilled to perfection. The ban chan (side dishes) tasted fresh. The Lychee soju (Hallasan brand, my favorite) paired perfectly with the samgyeopsal. The manager was such a vibe, super friendly, held a great conversation with my boyfriend and me, and was overall very attentive. Everything came down to a total of $63! Not bad at all, and we were so satisfied and full. Don Blanc for the win again!

    Is parking safe?

They have a pretty small parking lot. It get full at peak meal hours really fast. You will most likely have to street park. In any case, it is as "safe" or "dangerous" as any other parts of Oakland! Just don't leave anything in the car and pray it…

Service was quick, and we didn't have to wait long for our food to come out. They were also really nice about packing the noodle spicy rice cakes in a sealed container for us to take home, which I appreciated! This happened yesterday and I need to let it out…read more... This place was my goto all time favorite Korean restaurant. Now....i just don't know.....Came here with a party of 12 for my sister's birthday at around 2:30pm (we actually picked this time because we thought they wouldn't be too busy to take our large group). Went to check in but wasn't able to check in with that large amount of people (limited 10 on the kiosk). Not sure if he is the manager or on duty supervisor (we are going to called his Mr. M) but he wasn't friendly. Informed him that we had a party of 12 since the kiosk said to let them know if the party was greater than 10. He told me he wasn't able to seat us all together, I'm like it's ok if you separate us. (But he kept insisting we don't take 12, making me feel like he really didn't want our business). I explained to Mr. M, We are ok if you separate us into 2 groups of 6, we don't have to sit with each other. He was like it'll be about 30 minutes or so. That was fine with us, we weren't all there yet. So after discussing with my family we decided to check in on the Yelp kiosks with two parties of 6s. When everyone arrived (we ended having 11 people total), we rechecked in the kiosk with all parties arrived. My bro in law got text later that their table was ready so their party got seat. While I and the rest of the family waited, we noticed a few booths opened in the front of the restaurant (btw there wasn't anyone else waiting, just us 5). We asked, since it's 4 adults and 1 baby if we could sit there with another server and he was more than happy to take care of us. He even asked if we needed a booster chair for the baby. Mr. M stepped in and told the server no he can't seat us and he came up to us and told us we can't sit there cause it's up to 4 people only and told us "I told you that you would have to wait a long time". We were really shocked with his attitude towards us. Since the baby was getting really hungry we told the rest of my family we are just going somewhere else. Apologized to my sister because we couldn't even eat on her birthday together. All I can say now is "wow, really!!!" I've been going here for so many years because I enjoyed the food and their service and now i'm not sure I want to come back". Btw this isn't the first time we came here with a large group. We have been seated multiple times and we have been in the other side of the building when they used it in the past. If my sister reads this: Happy now belated Birthday, jie!!! Hope you enjoy the day and had a nice birthday regardless!

The Korean fried chicken was definitely a favorite. We got the yangnyeom flavor, and the chicken was juicy and tender with a perfectly balanced, flavorful sauce. The fried chicken gizzards were another standout--crispy, savory, and so good with drinks. The rose jjimdak was like a delicious mix of creamy tteokbokki and tender chicken, and it paired especially well with the tuna DIY rice balls. Making the rice balls ourselves was such a fun touch, and they were surprisingly delicious! We also tried the spam kimchi pancake and corn cheese, which were the perfect combination with the makgeolli we ordered. We had such a great time here. Even though it is a pocha, the food all felt very akin to Chinese food, with strong but singular flavours for each dish The fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce tasted like orange chicken. It came with slightly crisp tteok which was nice to break up the overwhelming flavour with that texture difference The squid dish offered a similar experience, with the texture of the crispy noodles distracting from the squid sauce for a limited time The crab and egg soup was a bit disappointing, the crab was the shredded fake crab stick kind, the soup was thick but mix of flavours (heavy on the green and red bell peppers) left a lot to be desired. Jamie W and I came here because we like to see what delectable options there might be on Oakland's Kimchi Row. Hey, I didn't make that nickname up. We came here because I heard they make an awesome Korean beef soup. Time to get our Korean on. Now I have to admit it took us a while to figure out how to enter because there were no transparent windows or doors on the street-facing sides of the building. We almost did a full rotation of the restaurant before we could get in. It's rather spartan inside, more like an old-school Shoney's. The menu consists mostly of soups and hot pots but also includes traditional Korean favorites customers expect. Jamie went with his favorite, the $20.99 Dolsot Bibimbap, steamed rice mixed with vegetables and beef sizzling in a stone pot (Photo 7). That was executed just fine with plenty of variety and heat retention. I wanted to try one of their soups and ordered the $30.95 Kkorigomtang, a bubbling cauldron of thick beef broth with submerged chunks of oxtail (Video). It required some patience to sip. Once it was temperate enough to taste, the broth was hearty but started to get blandly redundant once the tails were scooped out. This is where the Banchan came to my rescue as I dipped mouthfuls from each dish to spice up the broth (Photo 6). A bowl of rice and Jamie's leftovers helped, too.
