The ponzu sauce on the tataki was so good and the delicate little hot peppers on top were the perfect touch. And the shrimp!! Go! Run! Have it! The sauce HD notes of honey, lime and sweet chili. If no one was present I would have picked up the serving dish and poured every last drop of it into my mouth. To add to my experience- Candace recognized me, told Tom, and he came out to say hello and thank me for coming. PS - The shrimp is seasonal. I ordered the Uncle Stevie, and it took about 15-20 minutes, but it was clearly made fresh to order. The staff did a great job calling out names so no one missed their order. I took the sandwich back to work, and it was excellent. The house-roasted top round beef was tender and flavorful, the roasted shallots added a nice sweetness, the black pepper mayo brought everything together, and the focaccia was soft with a great texture. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the sandwich was well balanced without feeling overly heavy. It's easy to see why this place has such a loyal following. If you're in Marshfield and looking for a great sandwich, Mae's is definitely worth the visit. I'll be back to try more from the menu.
