I had to try this donut shop since it was featured as on the top donut shops in the country based on Yelp reviews. It's in hidden in the plaza so you won't necessarily see it off the Main Street. Once you're inside it has a warm friendly vibe. You get to see the donut making first hand since it's an open kitchen. The menu has many created flavors for the chocolate , fruity, or seasonal lover. Not finding something you like, you can make your own. Think of Cold Stone but for donuts. I decided to go with a few of the created flavors, Honey Blue, Raspberry Beret, and the Mitch. They came piping hot out and were glazed and topped right in front of me. It was great but the icing didn't have a chance to set fully because the donut was so hot. I suggest to ask if you can have them wait a minute or two before putting on the glaze I love the story behind explaining who Donna is. I love learning the back story of any business. I will definitely be back to try other flavor combinations.
I really wanted to like Donna's Delicious Dozen given the great ratings and how much I love donuts, especially mini donuts. Unfortunately, I have to say my experience was not the best. We came here on father's day as this location is quite far from us as we live on the West side of Columbus. While I had checked the website to ensure they were open before we drove to the store, upon arrival, they had posted a sign that they weren't taking walk-ins due to the online order volume they had. Still, we had driven all this way and they said we could still order online, so I did, expecting a much longer wait than usual. We ordered 6 donuts and a coffee and settled in to wait. The seating area has some basic tables and chairs and booths along the wall. The interior is very light and colorful, but I would still say this is likely more a place designed for pick up as the seating is more of an afterthought. I did appreciate that they noticed us waiting and tried to get us our order quickly - so the service is friendly when they have the help. As you can tell from the pictures people have posted, the donuts are presented quite nicely. They also were a bit bigger than I expected as I was expecting mini donuts and find these are smaller than a full sized donut, but larger than a mini-donut. Unfortunately, I feel the donuts may have been cooked in too hot of oil as they crumbled quite a bit with the outside separating from the interior. It was a bit oily and then the sweet toppings didn't quite adhere to the donut and made the flavor a bit off - so it wasn't quite there for me. I hope that this may be different experience than what others may have had given their high order volume and what I can imagine was a day they were short staffed being father's day, but I don't think I'll be making the trip out to visit this location again.
NOT a doughnut, girl, or really that much into sweets overall, but I had been wanting to try this place up for a while because of the fun flavors that are offered. The other reason I wanted to try it out was because this is a small business owned by a black female, and I always try to support our local business owners, but especially those who are women &/or minorities, as I am one myself! First off, the place is very clean, bright and inviting. I like yeast donuts over cake donuts, but I have to say that these were quite tasty and not heavy at all. I only got to try the one with the red drizzle and it was delicious, but my friends that I shared with all said their flavor was good too. She even has a food truck for events as well. Glad I stopped by, and I suggest you give her a try as well!
I love these donuts they are one of my favorite places to visit. The donuts are always made fresh and warm. They have lots of different varieties which makes me keep coming back. The customer service is always friendly and very welcoming. If you like the cake type of donuts with different flavors this is the place for you.
10/10 First-time customer here, and I'm thoroughly impressed! The only minor issue I noticed is that the donuts are quite smaller compared to regular donuts. However, I don't mind this at all and think it's a great aspect of the donuts. They were fresh, warm, and delicious. I've had the pleasure of eating countless donuts throughout my life, but these are undoubtedly the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. My family raved about the cake donuts, declaring them the best they've ever tasted.
Great little place It was my first time and I was welcomed by Matthew he took the time to explain the menu and all the different options. The place smelled so great. They make your donuts fresh right when you order them beautiful. It took about 10 minutes for my order, but I did order six different flavored donuts. and a frozen mocha, which was fantastic. Matthew also went above and beyond by taking my order out to my car for me as I have difficulty walking and use a walker(he offered).
I have been here once before and it was really good. We stopped by this go around and got donuts the rest were ok but the pineapple upside donuts ...they couldn't have been made right they don't look like the advertisement at all.
I discovered Donna and her donuts via the food truck. Donna was working the truck with her friend. Amazing donuts and delicious topping combinations! I was impressed how the donuts were fresh made to order and had an incredible consistency being soft and airy on the inside with a firm exterior to hold the toppings. We ordered strawberry cheesecake, cinnamon swirl, and pralines. All were absolutely fantastic. Warm and so satisfying.
Wow. Talk about a donut being worth every single calorie, carb, sugar, etc etc. Donna's Delicious Dozen is like a yeast donut and a cake donut had a baby and it is PERFECT! This is a must have and get them when they're warm! The donuts literally melt in your mouth and before you know it, you'll be in a sugar coma because you'll have eaten the entire dozen in one sitting. I made a lemon glaze + raspberry drizzle and it was gone in 3 bites haha. It was so good and not overly sweet. The Honey Blue is a blueberry glaze sprinkled with struesel and topped with a honey drizzle. The blueberry was not strong enough so it wasn't my favorite. The original glaze is delicious and a must, as well as the vanilla glaze. My sister had a GF honey drizzle with pecans and said it was good. The rest of the GF were for a friend who loves the cinnamon sugar option! The employees were very kind and patient as we chose our donuts and the service was quick. I had ordered the GF ones and they were ready about 30min before scheduled pickup. They send you a text when they're ready so that's awesome! The cafe area had the cutest little booths that were comfortable and clean. Forks and little trays are provided when you pickup your donuts. I cannot wait to go back!
This place is a DEF a fan fav amongst my coworkers! I'm not super close to the location but I wanted to pick up some donuts for my establishment for Black History Month since this is a black-owned business that I found on ExperienceColumbus.com. It was important to me to celebrate this in a way that acutally promoted a black-owned business. Ordering was easy, just a call! I drove quite a bit out of the way of work to pick these up and they were ready to go right when I was there! The person there when I picked up, seemed to be the owner.. not sure.. but just got that feel, was SO SWEET! She offered me some coffee on the house after she asked how I was and I answered with something along the lines of being tired but trying to wake up. The donuts were SUPER YUMMY! & staff remembered them and have asked about them since! The prices were VERY FAIR! So... I will def be back! Even though this business locations isn't super convenient, due to the quality and prices and service... I WILL be back! A+++!!!
Visited the Donna's Delicious Dozen food truck today and was blown away! They we're 2/$6 at the foodtruck, and were a little smaller than what I was expecting but my first bite erased any trepidations! I tried the Fruitylicious and Oreo flavors. (For other donut aficionados, I dare to say that Donna's cereal donut was better than the one I had at Voodoo Donuts!!) They came out piping hot, warm icing, perfect topping-to-icing-to-donut ratio, and were the perfect consistency. Despite a consistent line, the donuts came out quickly! The staff running the food truck had amazing customer service. I am excited to see that there is a storefront I can visit to get more!!
Best GF donuts in town. I ordered a half dozen of Donna's favorites and picked them up at Bottoms Up coffee shop in Franklinton. They were waiting for me right on time and boy they were good! The maple bacon was my favorite but they all delivered with a thin, crunchy outer layer and a moist but pillowy interior with a subtle vanilla-ey flavor. Just the right size and toppings so they weren't cloyingly sweet. They weren't cheap but when you are GF, a good donut is worth the money.
We went today to Donna's as part of a Yelp Elite Squad promotion. We received two donuts and were able to conveniently place our order online. The location was a bit of a hike for us, but we were excited to try a local place (and for donuts of course!). We ordered the two Yelp donuts (chocolate frosting and strawberry cream with strawberries) and also an 8 Mile (M&Ms and peanut butter) and a Boston cream. All donuts were in between full sized and mini and are about $1.50 each. The place itself is bright and spacious. Upon entering, the staff was welcoming and lively and it was clear that they take pride in the business. The menu is massive and one has the ability to customize their donuts. It seems like the possibilities are infinite! Right now, as far as I am aware, all orders must be done ahead of time. We immediately tried our donuts; they were fresh, sweet, and had an excellent texture. They were also a good size for a tiny indulgence. My only "complaint" of sorts, is that each donut is essentially the same, but evolve because of the topics. If you are expecting variety that you would find from a donut shop, like different textures and cakes types, you won't find it here. Yummy! What a fabulous treat on this snowy pre-Valentine's day. I placed my order for pickup then drove up to this cute little shop to get my treats. My order was ready, service was great, and the shop was large and cute. There is seating inside and out but is not accessible with Covid restrictions and the weather. The standard pricing is about $1.50 per fully decked out donut. I brought my home and added some whipped cream then savored every bite. My trip today was a gift from Yelp but I will be back for more! This is an adorable little shop on the edge of a residential area and super easy to get to while you run other errands. I highly recommend you check them out as you venture around the Northeast suburbs of Columbus. read more

We went here for the first time on National Donut Day! They were SUPER busy which was understandable. The employees were very friendly on what I know was a very busy day, so props for that! Ok Donna's today is your day. Ive been on my way here for a while and the wife and i made it today. Let me preface this by sayin that we were goin to pick up a few donuts and then go grab some food....have the donuts for later. Hell no that didnt happen!!we placed our order, sat down and went to town!! Btw they are not pre made.......dropped in hot grease in front of your eyes. These hot pieces of delishesness are made to order and topped with whatever they have or whatever combination you can come up with. Anyway they are the BOMB!! When I entered Donna's Delicious Dozen, I didn't know what to expect, other than it was a new donut place and I was excited to try it out. When I came in, I saw it was one of those donut places that allows you to customize your donuts and bakes them fresh, like Duck Donuts. Trying not to judge from that angle, my friend and I ordered a half dozen of a mix of specialty donuts that they had on the menu. When we got our donuts, we were gob-smacked by the amount of topping they had put on the donuts. Usually in a custom place, they can easily skimp on this, but they had pretty much ensured that each bite was going to be a mouthful. Adding the fact that all of these donuts were fresh (and some of the chip pieces melting too from the head) and had fresh glaze and toppings, they were an exceptional group of donuts we picked. I would highly suggest anyone try these out over Duck Donuts and help support this local chain. read more
Like everyone says everything really is made hot and fresh to order! The donuts definitely taste homemade and perfect in flavor. Perfect location in Gahanna/New Albany since there are no local donut shops besides the chain spots. The interior is simple and open with plenty of seating for you with friends, a date or family. My husband and I waited months for this place to finally open, and opening week, as soon as we saw the flags on Hamilton Rd were up, we immediately made a stop! The inside was spacious, cute, and clean, but it wasn't really like I anticipated. It was super quiet, lots of customers sitting silently waiting for their orders, and a few employees chatting while they were working. They definitely could have used some music to liven up the place. I also didn't realize they made each donut for every order. I assumed they had some pre-made. So once I ordered it was about a 10-15 min wait for them to be ready. It wasn't bad, but it's just like if you place a to-go order from a restaurant. If you're just planning on popping in and out like I originally had, this might not be the best choice for you. I wasn't really blown away by the menu. Nothing sounded super amazing to me, but we were already here and I was already inside, so I ordered a few different flavors for us to try- the raspberry beret, fruity pebbles, peanut butter cup, and chocolate Oreo. We split a raspberry beret first and were incredibly surprised at how tasty the glaze was. We liked this flavor a lot, but if I could have changed one thing it would have been to lose the chocolate crumbles on top. I also tried a few bites of the fruity pebble, but didn't like it as much as the raspberry. I'm gonna be honest, I got really sick after eating these. They just didn't agree with me. My husband, however, ate them all over the next 2 days with no issue. So I'm gonna just assume they didn't agree with ME, not that there's anything wrong with the donuts themselves. I probably won't go here again, partly because they made me sick and no longer sound appealing, and partly because these just weren't the style of donuts. (I'm more of a cream filled type of person.) It was fun to try these though, and if you like this type of donut then definitely give this place a try! My husband really liked them and he would eat them again! read more

They had a seasonal thing with apple butter that I shared with a friend, and we both took a bite and sighed happily The service was super friendly and the coffee is really good. Hands down the best gluten free donut I've ever had! Donna's has a great donut selection for those that eat gluten and those that don't! The shop also does speciality theme boxes, this month I picked up the Celebrate Black Owned Businesses Black History Month box, the cake donuts were delicious, not too sweet even with all that yummy icing! OMGOSH!!! Talk about melt in your mouth deliciousness!!! Of course I just left the gym 4 doors down, my kids are with me and they insisted, no twisting my arm lol I heard the 1 woman (I believe the owner) working the counter say they just opened when we walked in so they weren't busy but seemed to have a steady stream of customers. We were able to have 1 on 1 with her. She was helpful explained we could pick out special donuts listed or make our own and choose icing, topping, glaze, and/or drizzle. The donuts are warm light cake donuts none of that dense commercialized stuff. This is an independent business no chains!! The kids loved this idea and had some great picks Kid 1 - lemon glazed sprinkled with coconut- thumbs up Kid 2 - raspberry glaze, white chocolate chips with raspberry drizzle - Amazing Mom - just a chocolate dip (warm icing + warm donut= complete insane ness in my mouth) Of course we traded and tried one another's. Each were very delicious and could be almost too rich for the pallet but we survived and had no problem finishing up. Totally recommend getting in here ASAP!! read more

Omg! I love this place. Order online. On the weekends it takes about 15-20m for pickup but it's so worth it. They're warm, the fruit is fresh, and the frosting is so good. I found this place because of a Yelp elite event and I highly recommend. The donuts are $1.50 so how can you go wrong. I love Duck Donuts and this is my new favorite place. How are they better you ask? I can't tell you but I can tell you they are so do it! I got a key lime and a strawberry cheesecake. read more
Warning Delicious donuts if you dare! Step one foot into this bakery and take a deep sniff and smell the waffling scent of freshly baked donuts. I ordered online from their website in advance yesterday for pick up this morning. You can choose a pick up time, pay and they have texted me when the order is ready. Both times I ordered they texted me right before pick up and I appreciated the reminder because I get side tracked easily and would forget I ordered donuts. Lets get back to the real business at hand, the actual donuts and the reason why I come. They are cake donuts that are small but mighty. Around 3 bites and it disappears and my blood sugar instantly tells me it wants more. The flavor combos are unique and special. They do have Gluten Free options for those whom have dietary preferences or allergies. Our family favorite is the Honey Blue. A cake donut topped with a blueberry streusel and a honey glaze. We could probably order 12 of those alone. This place is becoming a local fan fair. read more

Wow! So impressed with this new (June 2019) donut shop off of North Hamilton Rd! Went in today (9/29) at 830am, wasn't busy and able to get in and out. The store is super clean and all 3 employees were great!! Thought their prices were very, very reasonable! Donuts were fresh and delicious and the coffee was good! They have donut happy hour from 3 to 6pm on I think Mondays and Tuesdays which is an incredible deal. Will definitely go back!!! read more

I drove 30 minutes on a Sunday morning to finally try this place after hearing a friend rave about them. I was told I couldn't get 8 donuts but they would give me a few unless I wanted to wait a awhile. I ordered a few of the ones on the menu. I was not impressed with the customer service and the donuts were ok, I think peace love and donuts are better personally. I guess this place is set up for online orders or you get what you get. read more

I've been excited to try this place since it popped up on hot and new. The location sits in a retail strip. It is very clean and new inside. They have a few tables to sit at. The menu is posted on the wall. I think that the price is very reasonable for what you get. They drop donuts fresh for your order. So your donuts will always be warm. I ordered an assortment and told them to make anything they wanted. They have speciality donuts or you can add anything you want to them. We ate them about an hour after I got them and they were still warm. The donut itself was just dense enough. They are more on the cakey side. The toppings are hit or miss. Some of the flavors taste like plain glaze instead of the flavor they are supposed to be. I was hoping for more robust flavors to come through. Some are more distinct then others. I would pick bold flavors if you want it to stand out. Regardless of that, they were still delicious. And I would come back again. read more

My boys' favorite donut shop. Always delicious and well made. Lots of flavors to choose from and the option to create your own flavor by picking numerous toppings. We enjoy the holiday theme boxes that come out each holiday and the fun designs. I enjoy the ability to order online and schedule a pickup time. Staff has been friendly and professional. I LOVE Donna's! My sister demands that we go here every time she visits. You really cannot go wrong.. I've never had an incorrect order, and the donuts are nice and warm if you pick them up on time. Love that you can customize a donut so many ways! Strawberry cheesecake is my FAVE, and I'll always come back for more. It's almost bad that I live so close! read more
