Bea's stuffed hash browns were hearty and very tasty with avocado inside and two sunny side up eggs with hollandaise sauce on top. The San Diego Style breakfast is perfect for anyone trying eat on the cleaner side, two eggs (I got mine scrambled with spinach), tomato slices, fresh fruit cup, cottage cheese and avocado slices. Food was good and I would have given this restaurant five stars if my food had been more than Luke warm. It also took thirty minutes to get. Service was good and salsa was excellent! This place deserves all 5 stars! Such a fun breakfast diner feel. We ordered the mimosa flight and split happily between three. The guava mimosa was our favorite! I ordered the Oklahoma special which consisted of two eggs, two sausage patties, hash browns, and a big biscuit all topped with a generous amount of gravy. I've come here three times on trips to San Diego from Los Angeles and I'm convince this is the best breakfast between the two cities. The chicken fried chicken and eggs comes with biscuit and gravy and hash browns all cooked perfectly. The wait on a Sunday was about 30 minutes but the free coffee is flowing. Don's food is always excellent and the service is friendly. The prices are good and the servings are big. The last time I went I got the avocado benedict, which was stellar. I'm not a fan on their coffee, but it's always hot and they're good about making sure your cup is always full. My husband loves their stuffed hash browns. Their pancakes are great too. I've had the "Healthy Variety" recently, found under the "On the Lighter Side" part of the menu- whole-wheat pancake, fruit, egg, and bacon. If you check in on yelp, you can get a free mimosa. Free mimosas AND outstanding food?! Our last time here they had a fun neon pink sign at our table saying "Cute Chixs and Cute dudes", which was a fun photo op for our group. This place is a local fave, so you will have to wait a while on weekends during the busy times. Expect to wait longer if you're a large party, since they don't have many large tables. Parking can be difficult, unless you happen to get lucky in their lot. It's best to avoid their parking lot (hard to get in and out of, easy to get blocked in), and instead park on a side street and walk from around back. But definitely check out Don's! read more

Also, have the biscuits with sausage gravy and I also added 4 sausage links. Warning if you want fast service do not come here. Allow yourself at least an hour to be seated and another hour for someone to even approach your table to take your order. The food here is really good. We got the stuffed has browns and french toast and everyone was happy. It was packed, but the wait wasn't long at all, about 10 minutes on a Monday Holiday. We were pretty annoyed by the end of our meal due to a nearby table with two kids on tablets with the volume turned all the way up. Sound caries really badly inside the restaurant and the shrill sound of competing children's shows can really grate on your ears. I wish management had done something. read more
