First time to Don's and new to Marysville. I ordered the blue cheese bacon burger. Now I warned the waitress telling her I was a pain in the ass and she was very sweet about it. Ann was her name and my burger was AMAZING to say the least. I asked her to take out the tomatoes and bacon and no mayo or onions and add some cheddar with the blue cheese and all I can say is yuuuummm... This is a diner type place so if you're expecting michelin star decor and what not this isn't that. But if you want a tasty blue cheese burger with great service and homey feel then I suggest a visit. Plus I'd rather keep my money in the neighborhood instead of big corpo Denny's. read more

This place is the only place to go to after a night out on the town in the vicinity of Marysville. It's diner food yes, but surprisingly good. Of course, that could be the buzz talking...seriously though, the biscuits & gravy were very good and the typical fanfare ( sample appetizer plate ) that my girlfriends ordered was good too! It had been 8 years since we last went here, and we now live in Marysville so we decided to give them another shot. We went for breakfast, but after asking if the corned beef was homemade (it's canned), and if the sausage gravy is homemade (it's canned), we opted to have lunch instead. I had the burger dip, my husband had the fish and chips. He said his fish was good, my burger dip was good, the fries were good, the service was good. Forget the salad though, it's just bagged salad and about 20% of it was brown. We'd go back but not for breakfast and not for salad. Stick to the lunch or dinner and you should be fine. I think. I mean... I've only had one thing there so far, so it's not my fault if you get something and it's gross. :D read more

Ya know, you get what you think you'd get for atmosphere at a 24 hour restaurant at this place. I'll have to say right away that our food was pretty good. We did end up dining around some pretty entertaining characters at that time of the morning, and it takes a special kind of waitstaff to handle the sketchiness that wanders into a 24 hour restaurant. We were on our way back from the casino and it was about 2:00am and this was the only place open so we gave it a try. They have a gigantic menu, pretty nice waitstaff and entertaining customers. read more

Terrible food, dirty restaurant. My dinner came with a salad. I asked for Italian dressing, they brought me (I kid you not) cold tomato soup. The vegetables are from a can. It's hard to find anything on the menu that is not deep fried. read more

Fried Chicken was awesome everything else was so so. Mashed potatoes are out of a box and the veggies are frozen. It is a quick diner and nothing more. Service was great but cleanliness not so much. read more

I'd give zero stars......I wouldn't stay to try the food because the place is disgusting!!! There is no way I would risk eating there if what the patrons see is filthy and I mean seriously gross from greasy, sticky, dead bugs piled up on the window sill. ..just nasty...I hate to see what the kitchen looks like.....YUCK! read more

Typical old diner. Not the prettiest place but it's comfy and has great food! I always tip the cook because they do a fantastic job. Someone else commented that they've never seen a tip jar for a cook but every DINER (not fancy restaurant) I've gone to has a tip jar for a cook, just not typically at the front counter. Good portions, they don't skimp on the meal. Laid back but kind employes which I love. Makes me feel comfortable. No corporate fake smiles and attitudes here. I was feeling sleepy and hungry so I pulled over for dinner at Don's. I ordered an NY steak with coffee. Full disclosure; I am an indiscriminate coffee drinker and I am perfectly happy with McDonald's coffee. I really enjoyed Don's coffee. My steak came with a green salad, garlic bread, carrots from a bag and a baked potato. The steak was medium rare as I'd requested and I was very happy with my meal. Well, gave this place a try for dinner on a Friday night due to the window stating prime rib dinner. Wasn't impressed with the meal at all!!! For starters, the plate was a mess of butter packs and plastic sauce cups like you would expect at a fair. Second... Who serves corn with prime rib (canned at that)? Third... I ordered a medium cut. The cut was raw on one half and medium on the other. It was so salty on the medium half though that it was horrid all through. Top that off as the fattiest cut I have ever seen (a third of the cut was pure white fat). My wife had a club sandwich. She liked the overall flavor but the bread was so over toasted it ripped her mouth to shreds. Kids had burgers and grilled cheese. They didn't finish either. Small drink cups leading to needing refills constantly and a edit stall that is non exist and with an almost empty dining area. Overall experience for the overpriced meal will not tempt me to come back again. It also feels dingy due to the outdated and unkempt state of the building, interior, staff, and dish ware. As a local looking for a good go to restaurant, I really wanted to love the place. Sadly, I just didn't :( read more

This is one of those small town, local, truck stop style restaurants....so it's nothing fancy. But everytime I've been there, the food is good, great prices, and the service has been great too. Not a place to take a first date, but great if you're just looking for a casual place to grab a meal. read more

Felt like I was walking into a different dimension entering this place. Weird vibes all around. The waitress was friendly but seemed sort of out of it, and didn't seem entirely sure what I or any of the other customers had ordered. Maybe she was new? The food was incredibly underwhelming for the price. Also, not a huge deal but they didn't bring us complementary water like every other restaurant I've ever been to. Word of advice, stay as far away from the deep fried mushrooms as you can. Won't be returning. read more

Don's makes a damn fine burger. I do believe the best in Marysville. If you're headed for a casino and need something to eat that'll stick to your ribs then head here for a burger. The first time you patronize Don's, you "learn the ropes." Don's is a comfortable place to eat, the foods are simple and well-prepared. Don's friendly waitpersons make taking an order a pleasure. They offer suggestions, work out your preferences - and then knowledgably discuss the Mariners and the Seahawks. (Angie can give you stats, and opinions on every player, every game.) I've been a customer for over two years, starting with one breakfast - now I go for breakfast several times during the week, and bring my wheelchair bound wife along for lunches and dinners. We're never disappointed with both the quality and the quantity. You are served as though they want you to take some home - a whole bunch. The menu is "American cafe" - well prepared and enough to satisfy the hungriest diner. They know their customer's. In my case - when I walk in for breakfast, the waitpersons know I will order any one of three breakfast - and usually ask me "Which day is it today? French toast and sausage? Omelet with extra onions? Mini breakfast - egg over hard? Coffee, tea or decaf shows up as soon as you sit down. Your cup is seldom empty. They remember my wife's preferences, and take care of her like family. Don's must have something going - I see the same faces among the patrons. There's a comradery among the "regulars". Having just moved to Everett from Seattle in November and having zero ability to find my way out of a paper bag one of my oldest friends and I set out for breakfast in my new town. Being retired gives me the opportunity to patronize businesses when most places aren't all that busy. My first visit to Dons' was only because I was lost and needed to pee. Got to Dons' and was half way thru breakfast before I even discovered I was in Marysville, I hadn't even hit Everett. The front of the house crew at about 11am on a Tuesday were 3 very salty middle aged women, each did their part of getting us into a chair, coffeed, cocktailed, informed and taken care of. The food was GOOD, not excellent but GOOD. The atmosphere was great, we were well taken care of, even when they were done with us they glanced over now and then giving us the opportunity to get service if we decided we wanted something else. Never made us feel like we needed to leave as we sat and talked. I have never been there when they are terribly busy, only before 3pm and only eaten breakfast items, with this said I have always found the staff flawless, the food good and the atmosphere as anticipated from the outside appearance. While reading some of the other reviews I was a little bummed to see all of the negative experiences, hopefully just a lot of one offs. read more

It was a lazy Sunday morning, and I got take out. The food was bland and greasy, but there sure was a lot of it. I always thought that you couldn't ruin hash browns... I was wrong. Dons managed to obliterate my appetite for breakfast food that day, and I will never eat anything from there again. It all went in the garbage, as my boyfriend (usually eats what I don't) found it repulsive to his senses as well. I love this place. It's kind of like Denny's but with better food. Their fish and chips are delicious, and I like that they have tip jars for the cooks, who are often forgotten in the background. The staff is always very friendly and it's fun to go and order some fries and watch football. Kinda run down and could probably use some redecorating, but a great place nonetheless. read more

If you can get past the looks, this place is amazing. It obviously needs a "woman's touch," but it doesn't feel or look dirty or grimy in any way, it's just run down. I love the food here. It's always done exactly as it should be and is always delicious. We've been many times and always gotten great meals. My favorite thing about this place, though, is the customer service. It is absolutely wonderful. We feel totally welcome and like a part of their family whenever we visit. They have gone above and beyond for us, even on our very first visit, and they catch little things that no other place has ever noticed before (like an accidental side of sausage when it was supposed to be bacon). I will come back repeatedly and I recommend you give them a try too. read more

Dined in, carpet was wet under my feet and there was a musty scent in the stiff air, not quite sure what it was? Ate late 11:00 pm, place is 24/7, waiter came and took my order, he seemed knowledgable and brought coffee & waters, had food off the breakfast menu, eggs, bacon, sausage w/ white bread, food came & was pretty tasty, if you're looking for a 24 hour place it's better then Denny's if that's saying anything but the place has been there for years and keeps on lasting out the others, I'll be back I'm sure! read more
