This donut knows what's going on
Mary C.

I already loved Donut City, but now that they have breakfast sandwiches and espresso drinks, I'm planning to move into the parking lot. The bacon egg and cheese tastes like your grandma made it for you so you'd be ready to go out and play all day, and the white maple latte confers instant hot girl energy with the first sip. That happy donut mural is smiling with the confidence of a mascot who knows your day will get better because you walked in to this business.

Blueberry donuts and donut holes
Angie M.

I have been craving a donut and talking to my client about donuts yesterday, so while charging my car, I decided to hop into pavilions and see what they had not realizing of the donut shop nearby. I've driven by the shop so many times I never thought much of it. Today, I had a bit of a wait, I figured I'd swing by and check it out. There wasn't much of a selection since I came two hours prior to closing. BUT THEY HAD BLUEBERRY DONUTS. I bought two of the three available +3 donut holes. The lady helping me saw that I was trying to see the menu, so she told me how much everything was. I paid with cash but they do take card. Lucky for me, my blueberry donut craving was resolved with $1.50.

Very good donut spot. We got there later in the day when the selection was restricted. First off this place is very dated and for me that's part of its charm. It's small with a handful of tables but appeared clean. We're not from the area so whenever I see a donut spot I get excited. We entered and were greeted by a little, lady lady. As I stated previously, selection wasn't all that great. I asked her "what's good?", she said "all of them!". My wife took an old fashioned which she said was a bit greasy. I took a buttermilk glazed which was fresh, sweet and wonderful.

A+ on this glazed donut. It's 11 a.m. and STILL super fresh!! Delicious!!

... I really really really wanted a shave ice, but thought ok... lemme get a Slurpee cuz I was in the wrong area for Hula Girls. So, I actually went 1.6 miles out of my way to hit up a 7-11. Out of 6 flavors, 2 were working. I hate cherry and didn't want my mouth to be blue, so I walked out... right into the donut store next door. So, because of that, let me give a shout out to Donut City. The hard working couple that had a rather sad story awhile back where the wife was sick and the husband worked alone for months only to go to her side while she needed his care. I saw her sweeping today, and she looks great, so I just nodded and said "hi". I know they are humble, hard working people from the articles I read, so I had a gut feeling not to bring up the story right now... but now I'm regretting saying "Glad to see you're feeling better"... Shout out: This donut is SUPER FRESH and it's 11 a.m. I always "try" out a plain glazed when I'm at a new shop, cuz if they can do a bomb glazed, then they go down as a mental note as a "good" donut shop. A+ here.

I don't know why I didn't think to stop by Donut City until today. Well, I'm glad that I did coz I found another donut shop to frequent whenever the craving hits. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by the owners. The store was clean so that's another good sign. Since my only reason for today's visit is to buy donuts, I placed my order for 3 of my faves -- glazed, sugar raised, and blueberry cake. The total came out to $4.10 so prices were comparable to others. Both yeast donuts were soft and pillowy. They tasted fresh and not oily. The blueberry cake delish as well; the fruit flavor wasn't lost in the donut batter. Of the three, the glazed was the best, then sugar, and then blueberry. Their glazed is almost the same as my favorite donut shop in FV. Donut City satisfied my donut craving and gets top stars for flavor, price, customer service, and convenient location. I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants or needs a donut or three. Now I have a local go-to donut place instead of driving to FV just for donuts.

Warm ham and cheese croissant by the beach
Sharon F.

The warm ham and cheese croissant is amazing. It's pretty big and filling and I enjoyed it a lot :) I also got a pink donut with sprinkles and it was so light and fluffy.. amazing!!! The man working there is very nice, sweet, and hospitable :) The store itself is very cute and clean. This will be my new go to spot whenever I'm in the area or headed for the beach

buttermilk maple, cake donut with sprinkles and the apple fritter :)
Georgina T.

Quality of donuts was very good. I especially liked that the apple fritter was the size of normal round donut which makes the outer crust ratio better imo. The couple who served me were very nice. The ambiance is simple/traditional old-school donut shop. Located in a small corner plaza so not many parking spots. Definitely would return when visiting Seal Beach.

Just look at the donuts--they're beautiful. Bright colors, creative toppings, great presentation. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Everything here feels like it's built for looks rather than taste. The whipped cream was thick, hard, and almost waxy--I was expecting something light, fluffy, and creamy. We tried several donuts, including the Boo-Berry, which didn't even compare to a basic cake donut from an average shop. The biggest red flag? Our 8-year-old granddaughter. She immediately picked the rainbow donut, got excited... and only ate about a third of it. That alone spoke volumes. It's rare for a kid that age to not finish a donut. The only one that was somewhat decent was the banana cream cheesecake--but even that didn't taste anything like cheesecake. It was barely passable, mainly because of the banana cream filling. Out of the four donuts we ordered, none were finished. Most had more than half left and ended up in the trash. Looking back, we probably should've taken the hint when we walked in and saw only one customer. Great concept and presentation, but the taste just doesn't match. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Too Good To Go App Review…read more I was looking for a donut shop to pick up a variety of treats for my family (non-vegan this time), and this place stood out while I was browsing online because of its great reviews. I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. When I arrived, I noticed the storefront didn't match the name listed online, but it was clearly a donut shop. It's located in a shopping plaza next to a salon and 7-Eleven, so there's plenty of parking and it's easy to get in and out. I was greeted by Amanda, who was friendly and welcoming. I let her know I had placed an order through the app, and she quickly got everything ready. She even took the time to explain the best way to heat up some of the pastries, which I really appreciated. While this shop doesn't specialize in over-the-top, gourmet-style donuts, it makes up for it with quality, value, and cleanliness. In fact, it's probably one of the cleanest traditional donut shops I've ever been in. Everything looked well organized and well maintained, which made a great first impression. For the price, I received a generous assortment that included four large croissant-style pastries (some with delicious fillings like danishes), two long donuts, and four assorted donuts. It was a great value, and everything looked fresh. I would definitely recommend this shop if you're looking for a clean, welcoming neighborhood donut spot with friendly service, fair prices, and quality pastries. It felt comfortable, well cared for, and like a place I'd happily return to.

Even though I'm not a Filipino, the flavor of their goodies are very similar to where I'm from. I think I might have tried (almost) all stuff they have in store. Some of my favorites are bibingkas (never go wrong with this), any weekend special donuts (ube or cream "cheese" filled donuts), ube cheez pandesal and cakes. I also like their pop tarts but they usually get sold out pretty fast. Their staff are always nice and personable. Check their instagram for any special items or any other updates (such as if they're sold out fast, or if there's any discount or if there's a long line). I'd suggest to eat their bread items on the day of. The other non-bread stuff are still good even after a few days. I go in and can tell this is one of those Asian donut shops that opened all over down here in SoCal. I think they might be Cambodian, nothing against Asians making donuts, they're the ones that started using the pink boxes we all know. Asians make the best fried chicken, so why not donuts?
