Now I can write about how the oil smell emanating from the store made me nauseous whenever I passed by during business hours. It's weird because I didn't think bad of the donuts themselves and could stand to eat them. I will say after having them on two prior occasions, they made an impression on me when they participated in the yearly Belmont Shore chocolate festival. None of the donuts tasted fresh, I am sure they were made hours before we bought them. Churro was super hard and stale, salted caramel literally tasted like nothing, blueberry tasted like sweet artificial fruit, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was the best one. If I lived nearby, I might get that one again, but this is not a place to go out of the way and try.

While the donuts/pastries were generally good, I felt like the donuts would've been better if we came and tried them at opening at 5am. Just look at the donuts--they're beautiful. Bright colors, creative toppings, great presentation. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Everything here feels like it's built for looks rather than taste. The whipped cream was thick, hard, and almost waxy--I was expecting something light, fluffy, and creamy. We tried several donuts, including the Boo-Berry, which didn't even compare to a basic cake donut from an average shop. The biggest red flag? Our 8-year-old granddaughter. She immediately picked the rainbow donut, got excited... and only ate about a third of it. That alone spoke volumes. It's rare for a kid that age to not finish a donut. The only one that was somewhat decent was the banana cream cheesecake--but even that didn't taste anything like cheesecake. It was barely passable, mainly because of the banana cream filling. Out of the four donuts we ordered, none were finished. Most had more than half left and ended up in the trash. I also like their pop tarts but they usually get sold out pretty fast. Their staff are always nice and personable. Check their instagram for any special items or any other updates (such as if they're sold out fast, or if there's any discount or if there's a long line). I'd suggest to eat their bread items on the day of. The other non-bread stuff are still good even after a few days. Typically weekends are busier, especially due to their weekend specials that are hard to miss!
