Fritters- bacon on top, pineapple bottom
    Lindsey D.

I love apple fritters! They do a bacon version and a pineapple version and they are both very very good. Their coffee pairing is a very good drip that one can consume in very large quantities. There is a few parking spots in the front of the store and this location is better for on the go.

Maple, Blueberry Fritter, Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Bavarian, Cherry-Glazed Old Fashion, Raspberry Filled

Donut Factory is scrumptious! My top three favorites are the blueberry fritter OMG so good, maple bar, and the raspberry filled glaze. They all are delicious and their textures are a light and crispy on the outside and a melt-y dough-nut texture on the inside. And the glazing is the perfect balance to feel like it's not too heavy. There were some that weren't my taste, specifically the old fashions were too dry and crumbly for my taste, and cinnamon roll could have had more icing. But I think there's something for everyone you just have to try some to find what you like most! I like that the donuts are on display so you can compare the many different choices. I want to try a ice cream donut sandwich one day! It smells delicious and customer service is always nice and friendly.

Donut Factory is an Asian-owned local bakery in U-district! Pop by after shopping at Trader Joe's or waiting for the bus. They have a giant selection of donut flavors and also offer seasonal specialities. I ordered the matcha green tea and the chocolate Bavarian cream donuts. They were lovely! I wish the matcha flavor was more prominent though. But there was decent cream filling in the Bavarian and the donuts were fresh. There isn't any seating or waiting area so it's a very grab and go spot, but there is a designated parking lot and is close to many bus lines. The cashier was friendly and explained to me the speciality flavor options.

Lots of donut options to choose from in a big display counter. There isn't really any inside seating, but the donut makes a good on-the-go food item. The staff seemed friendly and the service was quick. There were so many interesting options to choose from; it was very hard to decide! Glazed Crobar (Croissant + Donut Bar): The crobar was delicious and a good amount of sweet. The glaze was a bit crisp. When you bit in the donut, you can clearly see layers like that of a croissant. The donut was soft, but can feel a bit heavy at times. Overall, a very yummy dessert that satisfied my donut craving.

Mmm, doooooooonuts... I popped in one night about an hour before closing, they were out of the popular ones but still had a decent selection. I was in and out quickly, but when I popped in a couple days later on a weekday morning, there were about 5 people in front of me and took about 10 minutes til I got my bag. Of the 5 I tried, here's my order: 1 - Glazed cro-bar (cronut longbar) 2 - Cake donut with chocolate & coconut (ordered this twice) 3 - Glazed old fashioned 4 - Smore's donut 5 - Cookies and cream cake donut The glazed cro bar was awesome, even pretty fresh and flaky a day later when I finished it off. The chocolate/coconut was a good balance of creamy chocolate and soft cake on the first go round so I got one more on my second visit. The glazed old fashioned is nothing fancy but it was on point. I was bummed when the Smore's was sold out on my first visit, but it was super disappointing in the end. The cake wasn't very moist, there wasn't enough graham crumbs, and the plain untoasted marshmallow didn't do anything for it. The cookies and cream was also a let down, once again the cake was a tad dry and both the chocolate cake + cream topping lacked flavor. Overall there's a great variety and good customer service. The prices are a little on the higher end, and the donuts are pretty hit and miss. Find your favorites and stick to them!

Donuts galore are found here! Many Colors, flavors, textures were available on a Saturday afternoon. I settled on a couple maple bacon fritters and chocolate Bavarian crème. Both were good. The fritter was oily, but that's not too surprising with the added bacon. The bacon itself was real! Bits of chewy fat and thick chewy bites floated all around the sea of maple. It was good, but I wish I stuck with a more traditional apple fritter. I couldn't taste the apple chunks I look forward to. The Bavarian cream was so yummy! The donut tasted fresh 2 days later! The crème was thick and vanilla in flavor. Not overpowering. The chocolate melted on my fingers as I ate it. Can't wait to try more of those. Donuts were $3 each, and service was fast!

Had a donut craving and popped in to grab a few treats. They've got a pretty wide selection of donuts including some interesting flavors you don't always see (Ube glazed, mango filled, biscoff, etc). I went pretty basic and got a Glazed bavarian cream, blueberry cake, and a naked old fashioned. The donuts were $2.50/ea and the guy threw in an extra blueberry which was super nice of him! I will agree with some other reviews that their yeasted donuts are better. I really enjoyed the bavarian cream, but was less impressed with the cake donuts. The blueberry was good, tasted like blueberry flavor. It had some nice crisp edges on the outside which was good. The old fashioned was a little more disappointing - didn't have that really fresh vanilla taste I was hoping for and instead you could taste more of the grease - have definitely had better versions elsewhere. Overall, I would come back to try more of their yeasted or filled donuts!

First off, the service here is really outstanding. If you can ever experience a fresh donut like I did today - fresh maple glazed old fashioned buttermilk that was just 2 mins old...that is a 5 Star experience!! Crispy outside, warm donut, with fresh maple glazed. One of the best donut experiences I've had. The other donuts are all really good and I picked up a dozen assorted original, fancy and extra fancy. Located in a small strip mall in U District.. not the best area...but will definitely be back!

    Ube and s'mores donuts

Was delighted to find a place with an ube donut and not an hour-long wait to get it on the morning of my birthday. I was in and out quickly, parking was a breeze, and the staff was the exact burst of jolly energy I needed on a Monday morning. The cinnamon twist was perfection, and the ube donut was everything I hoped it would be (not overwhelming, didn't feel too heavy). My cousin has demolished the rest of the 9 count of donuts I got, and there's no question we'll go back. Can't speak to the ambiance as I wasn't there but maybe 5 minutes, but the experience could not have been more pleasant.

A sweet spot for all the college students. They have a happy hour the hour before closing for cheaper deals and also offer a 10% discount for various cards (Husky/Military/Orca). My complaint is that they don't accept ice cream sandwich orders in the last hour or so and that lines up with happy hour, so you can't get both a donut ice cream sandwich and a deal, but it's not too harsh especially if you understand the ice cream sandwiches take more time. I liked Donut Factory donuts in my high school days in the Edmonds area and the experience is pretty comparable, so a note for anyone who's familiar with that location. Service and friendliness here is better, though. Regular donuts are indicated by the black trays and "fancy" donuts are white trays. Big fan of the fancy options as they can be pretty unique and mouthwatering to look at. I'm not a fan of the prices because I'm spoiled with a WinCo, but obviously you get what you pay for and the quality (+freshness) here is unmatched. Each donut reignites my sweet tooth though, so I can't just have one donut unfortunately. Seems that they have vegan donuts available on specific days only. Didn't interfere with my order in the end but originally wanted to pick one up for a friend. Anyways, bring some friends or bring some donuts to your friends. They'll appreciate it.

Great doughnuts! Really liked how light and airy they were! I also liked the selection as well.

I've been meaning to try this spot for awhile but I oddly don't crave donuts in the afternoon and am never around this area in the morning lol. But I finally decided to swing by while waiting for my wife at an appointment. The gentleman working was super chill and helpful. There were so many options and I had no idea where to start. I asked him the top sellers and he also provided his favorites. I went with his favorites and they were delicious. Blueberry fritter - 5/5 it had great flavor but felt more doughy/airy than apple fritters in the past Mango filled - 4/5 mango flavor was strong but very sweet Strawberry cream cheese - 5/5 loved the flavor combos Crowbar - 3/5 unfortunately this one disappointed. I think I expected more layers but resembled a regular glazed bar. Maybe if it was fresher I would have felt the "cro" portion Tiny parking lot with limited parking.

My new favorite donut spot. They have flavors I've never even thought of. Their donut bread is just on point. Very great foundation to add frosting, filling, and various toppings as a bonus. I had to get a half dozen, but I wanted to order one of everything. I'll be back. Thank you guys for this amazing treat. And to think, we only came because the other subways were closed down and we ended up parking in front of this shop. I popped in while waiting on my sandwich and couldn't leave.

Ask the Community - Donut Factory

You serve ice cream in the doughnuts?

We used to! Not anymore. Possibility it can come back for Spring and Summers.

Do you have any GF doughnuts?

    Unfortunately no gluten free. Sorry!

Can I bring in outside coffee but order a couple of donuts to dine?

    Sure.

    Any vegan ones?

Yes I believe they have Vegan donuts that come in glazed, chocolate, maple, and vanilla. They also do custom vegan cake donuts but you have to let them know in advanced and the minimum order would be half a dozen

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. Kind of sketchy. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

I will note that I haven't tried the breads, but as a non-morning individual, I do appreciate that they do tend to still have many items available even later in the afternoon (~1-3PM time frame). You will have to find street parking, but I've never had too much trouble in this neighborhood even on the weekend. Butter Croissant (3.75/5): I'll admit I'm insanely picky with my croissants and I think Sea Wolf's is just okay. I want a stronger crisp on the outside, something that almost shatters and makes a mess when you bite in, but the inside has a nice chew. Kouign Amann (3.75/5): I had a really fantastic time with this my first time picking it up, they have almost a crunchy sugar caramel crust on the outside with super buttery pastry inside. Unfortunately, my second time picking this up ended up being a miss, just stale and much to dry. Cinnamon Roll (1/5): The raisins are a nice touch, but this was awfully dry. Even the caramelized crus on the outside couldn't save this and charging extra for cream cheese frosting on top of a dry dough is criminal.
