5 Stars for a Donut Shop! Great donuts and they have French Roast Ice Coffee! My favorites here are the buttermilk donuts. They have three types. And, for some reason, I like the pink frosting one. I never leave without one. Jet bakes the donuts and pretty much does a great job on everything. They have several different coffees and iced coffees. They also have French Roast Ice Coffee which is great. Wendy, the hostess, will tailor it to your tastes. This is probably the best ice coffee (French Style w/ condensed milk) outside of Bolsa. They have bagels and healthier snacks also. I think the main characteristic about this place is that Wendy cares what you think. She will have you taste donuts and drinks and wants your feedback. She is always happy and for some reason is always in style with her trendy outfits. If you get confused, look for a lady with a great big smile or sporting a cool hat. Ask what the donuts of the day are. The shop is bright and airy and always clean. Service is excellent. Parking is easy. Nice large lot. Never had a problem. This is probably the best place to get donuts if you are in the area. It is a minute off of the 91 Fwy and easy access back onto the freeway. I would time it at 2 minutes from leaving the shop until you are back on the 91. While I would not drive a great distance out of my way to come here, I do drive a tad out of my way. My tip to you is that if you come, come in the mornings. The donuts are way better when they are fresh. Also, ask to try her special coffees. I love this donut shop! I come here every Friday morning on my way to work to get a couple donuts and a drink. The donuts are always fresh and so good! The staff is very friendly and always quick and helpful. They're a family business, so I always try to support them in any way I can. I highly recommend this shop! 10/10 read more

Very very nice ladies work here! I always get the jalapeño ham and cheese and I add egg, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. It always comes out delicious! Close to my home so I come here often! Stop by and give them a try if your in the area they have plenty of donut options! Try their Boston cream or a simple glaze you can't go wrong! this place was super cute! I came to this shop because it was the only place open really early during my lunch at work. I was a bit skeptical at first because the outside was ehh okay. BUT it was super clean and the chair covers we're so adorable. Wendy, I think she is the owner, was so energetic and kind and so sweet. We initially went for just two donuts , but we left with two iced coffees that she was so eager for us to buy because she made it her self, and two ham and cheese croissants. The food was tasty and the coffee was AMAZING. If I can give 181847484 stars I would. Definitely will be coming back for my early morning lunches :) read more

My favorite local donut shop! Their donuts are soft, doughy, and perfect! Better than Dunkin Donuts and any other donut shop around town. They also offer croissants, cronuts, smoothie drinks, etc. Chocolate twists and maple bars are my favorite here, but when I don't want a donut (rarely ever) I will pick up a ham and cheese croissant warmed up! read more

I would not recommend this place. I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon to get some doughnuts for a meeting and was very disappointed. I got a dozen donuts to cut into pieces for everyone to snack on. I was able to try several types before deciding what I thought. The cake doughnuts were awful. They were dry, flavorless and the frosting was lacking on all of them. The cake crumb was the worst. I've never had such a terrible doughnut to be honest. The glazed ones were fine and as standard as you'd get anywhere but definitely just average, not as light and soft as others though. I hate to give such a low rating but I feel for a doughnut shop, you should have the common cake type mastered. This place left a lot to be desired and I will not be back. read more

I stopped in here last night before they closed. The donuts were delicious I got a chocolate glazed custard filled, regular glaze, and a jelly filled. The donuts tasted better than Krispy Kreme! I've been to many donut shops but DONUT STAR is the only one I felt a need to share. There made fresh daily. And run by the friendliest people. Always greeted with a smile. I like that. It definitely matters. In some days they've even offered to deliver to me. Freshness is a definite plus. You can't go wrong with Donut Star. My favorites are the ice cream donuts and the Boba Ice tea. This place is a joke. Lady is loud and rude and donuts were old af. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese and waited 10 minutes then she handed me a bagel with a brick of cream cheese that wasn't spread out at all.... when I asked for a knife and showed her the bagel she said " sorry we do t have cream cheese on cheese slice " lmao would never come here again , this pic is after I asked for a knife and spread it out my self on the top is the " slice of cheese she gave me " this is a joke of a shop read more

I love the people who work here and thier donuts. In a rather convenient striplet on Riverdale/Glassel by the 91 frwy, Donut Star shines as a great place for many things. Parking gets crowded sometimes but never out of hand. The service is always great, freindly people, clean organized shop, quick and efficient. Cofee I always get thier regular coffee and its always perfect, I usually prefer thiers over a few places I will not name(but thats a personal prefference, not a typical evaluation point). I also like thier hazelnut blend, they have a couple of other flavors. You can add milk, cream and sugar right there before you go. more They have milk, juices, sodas, cold cofee's, water, and more in thier fridges. plus they have Boba. Donuts all the greats are here, if you want an apple fritter that taste soft and fresh, not stale and crunchy, here it is. The old fashioned glazed, devils food, all the bars, sprinkles, and everything I can think of, they are great. Plus they have muffins and criousaants, including thier ham & cheese breakfast crousaints which my co-workers love. I may get critiqued heavily for giving a classis style donut shop ran by 2 great women 5 stars, but, that is my take, love it or not. read more

What really sets them apart is their willingness to get creative. They have the classics, but the adventurous specialty donuts are where the magic happens. I tried the Girl Scout inspired Samoa donut, and it absolutely delivered. A soft, pillowy donut with a rich chocolate-coated bottom, topped with a generous layer of caramel and coconut. The flavors were balanced deliciously. The chocolate added depth, the caramel brought just enough buttery sweetness, and the coconut gave it texture and a slightly nutty finish. Best of all, it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Going back for this one soon! If coconut is not your thing, but you enjoy chocolate and whip cream I recommend the whipped cream stuffed chocolate Long John. The chocolate icing had a nice cocoa flavor without being overly sweet, while the whipped cream filling was light, airy, and pleasantly smooth. What really stood out though was the donut itself because it was soft, fluffy, and fresh. The freshness was obvious from the first bite. The donut had that perfect texture--light and airy inside while still substantial enough to hold all of those toppings. It managed to feel indulgent without becoming heavy. Even the atmosphere here adds to the experience. Standing outside with a fresh donut and coffee in hand while watching the steady stream of customers come and go gives you the feeling that you've discovered a local favorite rather than a chain trying to imitate one. If you're the type who usually grabs a plain glazed donut and moves on, this is the place that might convince you to branch out. The lady who serviced us was super nice about it though, seeing my mom and I struggle with downloading the app and trying to find that offer, and since we waited in that long line (and were kinda still holding up the line) she gave me an original glazed donut for free anyways along with the assorted Build your Own 3pk I picked out. I got the Lemon Bar (50 cents extra), Cinnamon Apple Filled, and New York Cheesecake (50 cents extra) totaling to $9.67 with tax. The decor is always cute and the staff are always friendly. Though their regular/non-rotating donut flavors are just as good (the butter pecan, plain, chocolate glazed and bumbleberry), if I'm making the drive all the way out here, I prioritize their monthly flavors first. Between the summer heat, eating outside in the car since there was no available seating + the extra spice, I was definitely sweating! Also tried the Brisket Pastrami Sandwich ($15.99) which was decent but nothing I'd particularly rave about. I'd stick with the breakfast burritos. Located near Lee's Sandwiches and a Mediterranean eatery. The parking lot does tend to fill up quickly, but there seemed to be a steady flow of people coming and going so finding a spot wasn't too difficult.

The guy working said to the people in front of me that they sold out. It was my turn I asked if they had it and the guy said that they had a line since 3pm and that they sold out of the keg. We ended up getting two beers since we went anyways but that's when things didn't add up. He kept telling all the other people that started to show up the same thing. These are reasons why it didn't add up 1) empty seats inside but had a line since 3pm and beer was released at 4pm 2) I don't think the people going for younger would just order one beer and not try other RR beers? 3) only one guy working beer counter and having to clean the tables and make sandwiches? 4) 12 oz pours of beer and keg with about 1984 oz would make it 166 beers. No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. I'm sure a lot of people all night were disappointed to see that they didn't have it or post anything about it.

This is my FAVORITE DONUT & BOBA place. Located on Glassell and right across from a local 7 Eleven, this Donut Star has become part of my weekly routine. I literally come here every single Friday & order 2 Honeydew Bobas with whipped cream for my mom and myself. Their boba is very delicious! I love their honeydew flavor because it tastes very refreshing. Not many boba places have honeydew on their menu, so if you're looking for a new flavor to try - I HIGHLY recommend their Honeydew! The donuts are also very good! A good amount of variety and during different holidays, they make these decorative donuts (pictured here) that are topped with a sweet, chocolate-y layer. Aside from donuts, they also offer a variety of croissants and muffins. My mom has gotten their ham & cheese croissant and says it's easily one of her favorite local breakfast foods. Their prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent. Even though the parking lot may be small, whenever I've come here, parking is never an issue. The Donut Star is very convenient for e as it is right down the street from my house and they literally have everything in there from coffee to tea to donuts to sandwiches and a plethora of drinks at your disposal. The service is always great every time I come in and they remember my face so they know or have an idea of exactly what I want before I even have to say anything. The also accept cash and card. Plus, since I don't eat pork, they have turkey as well unlike some other donut shops that only have ham. This place is absolutely fantastic! read more

The maple bacon donut base was light and fluffy, but the bacon would have complemented the flavor profile better if the grease were patted down before it was sprinkled on top. You can see from the photo that it's still quite shiny (greasy). They do have breakfast sandwiches as well as grab and go meals and snacks if you're looking for something a bit more filling or healthier than donuts. This visit was definitely better than my first one, so I'll keep Station Donuts in mind next time I'm at n the mood for a donut.
