5 Stars for a Donut Shop! Great donuts and they have French Roast Ice Coffee! My favorites here are the buttermilk donuts. They have three types. And, for some reason, I like the pink frosting one. I never leave without one. Jet bakes the donuts and pretty much does a great job on everything. They have several different coffees and iced coffees. They also have French Roast Ice Coffee which is great. Wendy, the hostess, will tailor it to your tastes. This is probably the best ice coffee (French Style w/ condensed milk) outside of Bolsa. They have bagels and healthier snacks also. I think the main characteristic about this place is that Wendy cares what you think. She will have you taste donuts and drinks and wants your feedback. She is always happy and for some reason is always in style with her trendy outfits. If you get confused, look for a lady with a great big smile or sporting a cool hat. Ask what the donuts of the day are. The shop is bright and airy and always clean. Service is excellent. Parking is easy. Nice large lot. Never had a problem. This is probably the best place to get donuts if you are in the area. It is a minute off of the 91 Fwy and easy access back onto the freeway. I would time it at 2 minutes from leaving the shop until you are back on the 91. While I would not drive a great distance out of my way to come here, I do drive a tad out of my way. My tip to you is that if you come, come in the mornings. The donuts are way better when they are fresh. Also, ask to try her special coffees. this place was super cute! I came to this shop because it was the only place open really early during my lunch at work. I was a bit skeptical at first because the outside was ehh okay. BUT it was super clean and the chair covers we're so adorable. Wendy, I think she is the owner, was so energetic and kind and so sweet. We initially went for just two donuts , but we left with two iced coffees that she was so eager for us to buy because she made it her self, and two ham and cheese croissants. I would not recommend this place. I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon to get some doughnuts for a meeting and was very disappointed. I got a dozen donuts to cut into pieces for everyone to snack on. I was able to try several types before deciding what I thought. The cake doughnuts were awful. They were dry, flavorless and the frosting was lacking on all of them. The cake crumb was the worst. I've never had such a terrible doughnut to be honest. The glazed ones were fine and as standard as you'd get anywhere but definitely just average, not as light and soft as others though. I hate to give such a low rating but I feel for a doughnut shop, you should have the common cake type mastered. This place left a lot to be desired and I will not be back. read more

I consider myself a sort of donut connoisseur, having eaten donuts in many highly acclaimed donut shops from San Diego county to L. A. to Portland, Oregon. So when I saw the high ranking and the 41/2 star rating for Donut Star, I was excited to try their donuts. After selecting 3 different types: maple cake, maple bar, and strawberry filled glazed, I started with the maple cake. After the first bite, I became very disappointed with the taste and the quality of the donut. It was nearly stale, and very dried out. Then I tried the maple bar which had received some good reviews. Same thing, not tasty, dried out frosting,, dissatisfying. The last try was the strawberry filled which was okay, but nothing special. I don't know who the people are that are giving Donut Star 5 star reviews, but they must not have tried a really good donut like at the Donut Man in Glendora. I have to give Donut Star only 2 stars for less than tasty donuts. read more

Came early in the AM and bought a glaze donut. Ate it at work and noticed this glazed donut was off. It tasted like used oil. And you know why? Because the donut was like soaking in the oil.
