I love this place. The hash bowl is my go-to, and the kids love the pancakes, which are super fluffy and big. The service is really friendly, and they always keep your coffee mug full and hot. The decorations are also really cozy, so I get a happy feeling when I look forward to going here. Also, before my transplant surgery when I was on an oxygen concentrator machine, they were super accommodating and got me a seat by a wall outlet, so I could keep my air supply flowing. These were good and the bacon bits has a nice flavor that added the perfect touch to the egg. * It's Breakfast * Eggs your way (I went with my go to over easy), choice of meat (bacon or sausage) I chose bacon, scrapple and toast. The scrapple was good, the eggs were made just right and the bacon was crispy - yum and a choice of smashed browns or grits - I went with smash browns (aka hash browns) and got a side of grits. * Grits * The side of grits was delicious. It was creamy and came with melted cheese. I added butter to mine which was the icing on the cake for me. * West Texas Steak & Eggs * Eggs your way (scrambled was the pick), steak Carne asada, pico, refried beans and smash browns. The steak was tender and the other side accompanied the platter was tasty. * Stacked Enchiladas * Corn tortillas layered with melted cheese, refried beans, topped with red or green chile (green was the pick), sour cream, lettuce and a fried egg. Much needed breakfast in Catonsville! The place that was here was definitely past its prime and a change was needed. The look is refreshing and the menu an exciting change. I also tried the breakfast platter. I substituted a biscuit for my toast which was a dollar upcharge and added sausage gravy. I don't mind the up charge but the biscuit was very dry and crumbly very hard to eat. The biscuit was not at all fresh. The sausage gravy was very herbaceous and delicious. Not sure I could eat a whole plate of it but the side was perfect. The potatoes on the side were the star of the show! This is the worthy successor to Duesenberg's American Cafe and Grill which closed rather abruptly. There's been some modest refurbishing but overall layout is the same. There's metered street parking and there's a business parking lot across the street that seems open to the public on weekends. Our server Azalea was exceptionally cheerful and welcoming. Her food suggestions were definitely on point. The coffee I believe is Bustelo and it was an auspicious start. For real this was some of the best grits I've ever had. Not lumpy or runny. We really wanted to love Doozy's, but our food and experience were good but not great. The breakfast potatoes were nice - a good texture - but could've used more seasoning. We ended up ordering a side of green chile sauce to dip them in, since our early ask for some hot sauce was not successful. We waited about 30 minutes for our table, but our order was taken almost immediately with quite friendly help. A few of the things we asked for (milk for coffee, hot sauce for food) had to be re-asked for, and it took a while for us to get waters as well. My eggs Benedict were cooked right through, practically hard-boiled, and the Hollandaise was thin and overly lemony. It would've been nice to have the yolk to balance the dish. We've lived nearby for years but it took us a while to try Doozy's under the new name/ownership. All I can say is WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO COME HERE?! The Bulgogi Cheesesteak was incredible and HUGE, as was the Reuben. We did carryout for lunch, but I will absolutely be back for a sit-down brunch because Doozy's is adorable inside. Solid 3-3.5 stars. The food isn't very flavorful, but it's not horrible ingredients. The restaurant is BYOB, so mimosas in the morning or a margarita for lunch are posible if you bring it. The restaurant itself isn't very big but they're making do with the space they have. They have books including board books for toddlers; I love that. I ordered the bananas foster French toast- it's not that. They should probably change the name of it though. It wasnt very good, just French toast, bananas and a custard drizzled on top. My daughter had a smash-burger and fries. The fries were good but they only gave her a few (disappointing). They don't toast the bun, so it looks like a cafeteria burger from school. Someone else in our party had a cheesesteak, but it wasn't good (just 1 bite was a no). She sent it back and opted for just plain French toast. They brought the check with the item still there. "I'll check with my manager to see if it can be removed." Again, young servers I think a seasoned person would know no one expects to pay for food they didn't eat. Kids meals should be a pancake and protein option either 1 egg or meat. It comes with 2 big pancakes and fruit. (Suggestion) someone else had the sante fe omelette- meh was the response, not the best they ever had. They don't carry steak sauce- only a house-made one which is a ketchup base and that is what it tastes like. None of the food comes out together. I think kids food should come out first, but it didn't (last w/ the missing side order of bacon) Maybe they need runners to bring the food with the waitress for larger parties. First the positive, our server Clarice was amazing. She was very attentive without hovering. The potatoes were very good. Now the reality. The eggs were very undercooked. The sausage was mediocre. With excellent bagels available locally, the one served was not much more than a dinner roll with a hole in it. Furthermore a "bagel" and toast were priced at $4 each. So my mom and I went to Doozy's Diner, formerly known as duesenbergs. When we walked in from our very close parking spot on the street, we were greeted and seated in seconds. Our very pleasant server came over and took our drink orders while I took a stroll around and of course checked out the restroom. The restroom was pretty clean. There are two single stalls and both were available for hand washing at that time. The decor was pretty cool. They changed up the furniture to match the vintage vibe they were going for in the diner. As for the food, I had the veggie hash. Eggs over east of course. It was delicious. I also tried the Brussels sprouts which were nice and crispy. My mom had the pancakes with the it's breakfast combo. I tasted it all and every single bite was so tasty. The highlight of the whole experience was the service. Our server took such good care of us. If the weather is decent, sit outside for the view and space. Doozy's Diner was a nice surprise, 1. for the food and theme, but 2. it reminded me there's more to Catonsville than Balt. National Pike. I walked in and wanted to rename the place "The Brady Bunch Cafe." Marsha-Marsha would be thrilled with the fun 70's decor (if you think your table is missing salt and pepper, look no further than the porcelain figurines). DDs has more of a cafe feel; a retro cafe with full menu and very pleasant servers. Some reviewers complained about prices or pricing surprises. I noticed extras were clearly noted in the menu. As in life, don't assume, just ask and you will be free of surprises. At 12-17$ an entree, it was pretty reasonable. I had the Crabby Patty - a crab imperial eggs bendict. All of the reviews you have read about this charming little diner are spot on. The food is delicious (though a tad under seasoned) nothing that a little salt wouldn't fix. The service was lovely, swift and attentive. The portions are massive. Plan to take half of your meal home. And... when we left; no less than three staff members offered nice departing words. This little gem in Catonsville gives a fancy breakfast if you want something out of the norm. Went in on Sunday AM, and was seated immediately. The decor is bright and cheery, with outside seating available. The menu is a tad on the fancy side for me, but at least they explained what each dish is. I ended up with the Thicc Elvis sandwich, which is 2 slices of French toast surrounding a conocction of bacon jelly, peanut butter fluff (almost a mousse tecture), and bananas. All topped with maple syrup. This is listed as a sandwich, but don't try to pick it up. The syrup will get you. The bacon jelly was a strange flavor profile that I can't explain... Maybe a tangy sweet and savory mix? The smash browns were good, different texture than I was expecting, but still quite tasty. The coffee was fresh, in a large mug, but, no offers of refills were made, a small thing with how busy they were. Parking is all on street, as they do not have a dedicated lot, but the lot across the street is available after standared business hours. This was an online takeout order. I had to run to the post office and wanted to grab some breakfast before getting back to work so I saw this was extremely close to the post office and had great reviews. Took a look at the menu online and it appeared they had some great food options. I haven't had an omelette in a while and the Brisket Omelette or the actual name is the Santa Fe Omelette sounded good, I decided to go with the mix of red and green chili sauces. I also selected it to come with smash browns. When I arrived, parking was fairly easy because it was a Tuesday and rainy outside so I was able to street park directly in front of the restaurant. I walked in and it looked like a small cozy cafe with a few tables on each side. There is literally not much of a waiting area. One lady came from the back and told me to hold on and she went to service her table and another lady came and asked if she could help and I let her know I was there for a pick up order. I got my food and left. When I got home and opened the box, I saw a fairly large omelette with half of it covered in green chilis and the other covered in the red, I also saw red potatoes that were hardly smashed. I was under the assumption that it would be more like hash browns. I tasted one and it had no flavor and could have been smashed and cooked a little longer. Next was the omelette and boy was I disappointed. That was the most flavorless omelette I have had. I was expecting a burst of flavors but there were none. The omelette was not seasoned with any salt or pepper, the brisket was dry and unseasoned and there was hardly any cheese. Even after me adding a little salt, pepper, and salsa it still did not make much of a difference. They are getting two stars because the portion size was amazing and it could easily feed two ppl who want to put something on their stomachs but I don't think I would come back with so many other options. read more

I love me some Doozy's! I live in the city, but I'll drive out of the area now and then for Doozy's. Everything here is good, and although it's got a breakfast vibe, the lunches are just as crazy. I like the patty melt because I'm not kidding, it's one of the best I've ever had. I like to dip mine in gravy. The waitresses here are polite and they always seem happy - I feel like I don't see a lot of turnover which is always an additional plus. It means their staff is happy! Went on an early and rainy Sunday morning, thinking it wouldn't be busy. Place was packed! Service was friendly, albeit very busy. Ordered the Georgia Cristo (which was a slice of ham in between french toast, topped with melted fontina and a peach compote) and a side of tots. And my friend ordered the Tot waffle topped with cheesy eggs (scrambled) and a side of grits. Food was a little bland and undercooked, barely warm when it got to the table. We didn't want to make a fuss since we spent a lot of time waiting already for service and the food. Enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere. A total revamp from the old Deusenbergs. Bright colors, eclectic decorations on the wall. Don't forget to check what kind of salt and pepper shakers you have at your table. Doozy's is a small mom and pop style diner in the middle of Catonsville. When we arrived we beat the morning rush and was seated right away. It was four of us and although the tables were pretty closely spaced, I didn't feel uncomfortable or claustrophobic. Our server was very nice. She had suggestions or would she really liked or what? People ordered a lot and seem to like it was really knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. It's diner so you can order breakfast or lunch. They didn't have very many dinner or evening styled meals, but for breakfast and lunch they were plenty of options. I had the pastrami hash which I thoroughly enjoyed. My son and wife had pancakes. My son's were chocolate chip pancakes and a kindly drew a on the pancakes which was a nice touch. My daughter had a cheeseburger. We all enjoyed our meals and would certainly return in the future for another meal. Outside seating is available.
