I was in the area and saw this cute cafe! I was starving and came inside to get some coffee and food. The decor is lovely and the staff and very welcoming. They have a few seats inside and outdoors, and they also have a outdoor covered patio in the back (you enter through the inside). The coffee was very good and so was the food. I ordered the chicken and waffles!

Cute little breakfast stop in the area. Service was good. The staff was very polite and timely. The chai latte was 10/10 coming from someone who is a chai enthusiast. I got a seasonal breakfast sandwich made with Puerto Rican sweet bread. It was perfectly soft and fluffy. Would highly recommend.

Visiting from nyc . Took a chance on this place considering there aren't may reviews. It's a cute little spot to grab breakfast or brunch. My husband had the scrambled eggs with sausage, toast, homefries and a side of pancake. They topped pancake with fresh berries and powder sugar. The portions are generous. I had the dos Cafe sub. I know many people say how can you mess up a sandwich?! But trust me it has been done.I subbed the salami for turkey and it was still delicious!! They make it with chibbata, mozzarella ,ham and this one turkey with a hint of mayo and cilantro oil, which just made this sandwich sing. The staff warm and friendly as my fellow puertoricans are . The establishment is small the decor has that colorful tropical wall paper, with hints of green ,classic white chairs paired with a classic geometric wall paper. Very tasteful decorated. They also offer some outdoor seating and they're pet friendly The only thing that I took one star off for are what their version of home fries are these seem to be bagged home fries they're seasoned well but didn't have that classic mix of flavorful oil onions and peppers you get from good homefries. But overall it was a good experience. It's a cute spot to visit.

Despite the limited reviews this is a must stop if you are in the area! We were staying nearby and had a leisurely walk to a late breakfast. This cafe is definitely a whole in wall inconspicuous cafe in San Juan. The decorations are soo cute and Instagram worthy! We had the chicken and waffles and the French toast - both were delicious and you got sooo much food for the price. I do wish that they provided reusable silverware as the plastic silverware made it difficult to cut the chicken. The lattes were smooth and perfectly sweetened to our taste - better than Starbucks in San Juan. Take note that they do sell breakfast and lunch everyday, but their Saturday and Sunday brunch menu is different. See their website for details.

Excellent / kind attention with satisfactory speed. We (group of 6) were all more than pleased with the quality of our choices. Portions/price ratio is adequate. Would definitely come back.

Food was great and simple ! Coffee was well made while the staff was extremely happy and attentive. Place is cozy with few tables but not too loud .

I don't know why this place doesn't have many reviews b/c this place is a GOLDEN GEM. The Chai Latte here is the BEST I had in my life. This beats any of chai lattes I had in NYC. The ambiance and interior design is so cute here and the price is soo reasonable. I was able to comfortably order and finish both my food and drink. There are 3 diff areas for seating (one more private, one near the window sills, and one just in the corner facing the register). The worker was so nice and explained things on the menu well and the food came out really fast as well.

Discovered this cute and quaint cafe via Yelp! I was able to walk here and found it to have an understated outside look. It totally blends in with everything around it which makes it even more perfect as a local staple! There is a small area inside, suitable for maybe 20-30 people. There is a small menu filled with different types of pancakes/french toast and breakfast sandwiches. I ordered a mocha latte and then a cappuccino- I'd highly recommend adding the whipped cream on top of the cappuccino. Once you mix it in, it is the PERFECT amount of sugar to complement the coffee. I had the montecristo for breakfast... and then came back on another day and ate another one! A little sugary... but that's to be expected with a sandwich covered in syrup. Highly recommend this place and I would 100% come back.

Just walked out of this place & all I can say is my husband and I were beyond impressed. Its a tiny spot with like 3 tables but it packs a punch. It's a Monday morning & a lot of people coming in and out & that's a sign to let you know. The food was phenomenal & the chai lattes were the best I've ever had. My husband said "I wish we would've come for breakfast everyday on our vacation". We would def be usuals if we lived here. Oh and a plus is the awesome playlist, nothing like some Coldplay with a delicious meal.

This place is amazing!! The customer service was great - they offered us a QR code to scan for a full menu in English. The food was ready really quickly and it was great portion sizes for the prices. The coffee is also super yummy! We got an iced vanilla latte and a macchiato and they were delicious. 10/10 recommend this cafe for a great breakfast/brunch

We sat down for dinner at 7:45 and did not receive our drinks until 8:20, even though we put in our order as soon as we sat down... and asked politely how much longer until our drinks would come out... twice. Food did not come out for an hour and half, it was cold by the time we got it. Mac and cheese is not great cold. The ribs are extremely overcooked and like eating beef jerky. Drinks were okay, but by the time we got them everyone's cocktails were watered down, as well as the soft drinks. The ambiance was not great either since everyone around us was visibly frustrated by the wait times and lack of service, a table across flagged the waitress multiple times to ask where their stuff was. The food was decent, but again, cold. The wait times were no joke. We wrapped up our 7:45 dinner around 10, simply because of how long it took to be served. Our waitress came to our table maybe 3 times total, we would have to stand and find her to figure out where our food/drinks were. They were also out of a good majority of items on the menu when we tried to order them. Overall I unfortunately don't recommend! Price, service, and food are not great.

We arrived with no wait, but by the time we were eating, there was already a long line outside. Also, if you're in a hurry, this may not be the best choice. Everything is made fresh from scratch, so the food does take a while to come out. Service is definitely on island time, but once the food arrives, you'll understand why--it's well worth the wait. I ordered the California Surfer wrap, and wow...it was absolutely amazing! Everyone in our group raved about their meals, and the fresh-squeezed orange juice was out of this world. It felt so nice after getting overheated right before we got there. One thing I noticed while wandering around Old San Juan is that some restaurants likely survive on location and foot traffic alone, while others earn people seeking them out. Semilla definitely felt like the latter. It's tucked just around the corner from some of the busiest pedestrian areas, so it felt like we escaped the crowds for a little while without actually going very far. Overall, I'd happily come back. If you're staying nearby and looking for a good meal without being surrounded by the busiest tourist crowds, Semilla is well worth checking out.

This is global techniques blended with locally sourced Puerto Rican ingredients. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome. I was there to celebrate my birthday (a reservation is a must). I asked if I could be seated in a different section of the restaurant, and even though they were packed, they said absolutely and found me a lovely seat in the bar area. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I suffer from severe food allergies but wanted to experience their tasting menu. My server spoke to the chef directly and then took the time to walk me through every option. I TRULY appreciated that they did not take anything off the menu but rather told me how they could adjust for my allergies. That is very rare and so very much appreciated that they went that extra mile for me. I highly recommend the tasting menu. It's 5 courses and they give you 3 options to choose from, within each course. And for the price ($85), a great value. Everything was delicious but I highly recommend the Breadfruit Gnocchi, Rainbow Runner Crudo, and Criollo Duck Mofongo. Chefs kiss! What I also noticed was, even though they were insanely busy, they didn't make you feel rushed. The invited you to savor the experience - which I did. The standout of the evening was the Criollo Duck Mofongo, which was absolutely exquisite and easily the best mofongo we had on our trip by far. The cocktails were tasty and unique, but a bit small for the price. This definitely isn't an every-night kind of restaurant...the prices are on the higher side. I've bought them at the grocery store for my mother over the years when I couldn't find Menier. I was hoping to see some unique desserts at Chocobar Cortés. Let's just say that the chocobar at this location was not what I was expecting. It's like an express version of their original one in Old San Juan. This is located in the lobby of the Condado Palm Hotel. There are 2 entrances. Don't make the same mistake we did by trying to access at street level. That door is locked. You'll need to enter through the hotel lobby. The service is very slow here. There was only one other person there. We ordered a box of 6 chocolates and payed for it. I'm guessing he was making a drink for the other guest because he asked us to wait a few minutes. It ended up being longer so he told his colleague (who just came back from a break) to make up the chocolate box for us. Unfortunately, it took even longer as this other guy was more interested in the 2 young girls who just walked in. The chocolate bonbons were good, but nothing unique. It's the same artisan chocolates that you see everywhere for the same high price. Perhaps this location is better for their specialty cocktails in the evening time. I was looking forward to trying the choco-latte at some point. I doubt there will be a next time.
