Hi, I am generally not very critical of restaurants, but Dos Coyotes blew this one out of the water. I ordered green enchilladas, the tres taco plate, and 2 kids quesadillas for my children which were bland and far below average. I came when it wasn't very crowded and my food still came very late, about ~15-20 minutes in. I talked to one of the managers regarding how long my food would take and he had this attitude and hostility towards me, even though I was in no wrong. As I was talking, 2 of the teenage employees kept staring and laughing as well, not sure how what kind of people the manager hires. I also want to shed light on how mismanaged the whole store is, and I am talking dirty tables, unfilled salsa bars, etc.... Overall horrible experience and shitty management. Came here to eat a couple of times during COVID-19 for outdoor dining. Staff are wearing mask when they serve. Not too many tables outside but enough for a small group of people. Tables are usually for up to 4 people max. It's located right next to Sprouts and Massage Envy. Great spot to grab some yummy mexican food. My favorite is their green salsa and they give u lots of chips. If you've never been here, u gotta come give it a try. I love to order their shrimp tacos here Those are the best. I feel weird living in sf and recommending burritos outside of the mission, but dos has a special place in my heart. It reminds me of my college days and we always take the opportunity to get dos when we're close to one- we order extra for leftovers the following day! They always get our crazy requests right (everything on the side), the price is still reasonable in this economy, and their unique flavors can't find anywhere- paella burrito is awesome and Unlimited salsa bar is great! The interior of Dos Coyotes in San Ramon is a sound chamber. It only takes one squealing or chattering kid to ruin the whole dining experience. This spot has great takeout food and outdoor dining. The burritos from here are so good. I definitely recommend coming here, the workers are so friendly, shout-out to Dylan for excellent service. We have eaten here several times and it is normally excellent, been going to Dos since they started in Sacramento area. Not sure why, but my order didn't taste like it had in the past, I ordered the Steak Ranchero A La Carte and I got something that didn't look right, unfortunately it was a to go order and we didn't see it until we got home. The burrito was flat, the flavor was bland and the steak was shredded, and the cheese looks to have been burnt as well, it was never like that before. Our other order looked fine, just this one. I asked for extra extra cilantro and didn't get anything but a box full of bitter lettuce and parsley. Not a even a tiny bit of cilantro. The tacos consisted of meat a tiny bit of cheese and the rest of the box was packed full of bitter lettuce. The only flavor was the bitter lettuce. I used to love to come here and have a margarita with my dinner :( since the new management took over the margaritas are not good at all!!! They taste like margarita mix. That's really too bad, because while they are thinking they are saving money by using less tequila , they are actually losing because i will not buy them again. I used to go to Dos Coyotes a lot when I worked across the street. First time visiting in over 5 years. As I remember the food is solid but not what I think of as authentic Mexican food. Typically wouldn't do a review but we had a great experience with the manager Jeff. We had some questions on the menu due to dietary constraints and jeff was very patient with us and helped us find the right choices based on the specific diet issue. Many people shake their heads when being asked about the menu and ingredients or don't actually know. Jeff's patience made the visit and likely be back sooner than 5 years. read more

I usually get the burrito and this is the first time ordering as a bowl, and it seems to be missing some ingredients like rice and lettuce. This is a decent Mexican restaurant that has quite a few options for your to choose from. Even for the picky kid eaters. You order at the counter, and seat yourself. Ordered 180$ worth of food for family last weekend . I really loved the pre covid dos coyotes but the quality of the food under takeout regulations has been really bad. Ordered Carne Asada and got all shredded beef which is fine but it was horrible . Seriously could have ordered taco bell and saved 160$ . Where to begin. 1 hour after we ordered, we did not have our food. At the 40 minute mark, we approached them asking if our order was close to being done. We were told "Do you recall what you ordered, we can't find the ticket". With part of our party having left by then, no, I don't recall. 5 minutes later, the manager said they found the ticket. Food comes out at the 50 minute mark...cold & watery. I asked for the manager again and explain and he offered to remake it and put it in a to-go box for us. 1hr 20 minutes after ordering, we were home with the orders meant to eat there, now in a to-go box. Open the orders and one isn't even correct (was supposed to be a crispy chicken taco, but it was steak). Food is 2-star at best. Service 2-star. No offer of a discount. No offer of an order on them next time we come in. Not sure there will be a next time. read more

We came for a family dinner and were pleasantly surprised to find many vegetarian items on the menu. Each of us tried a different item and the food was fresh and good. They have a salsa bar and serve fresh salsas. The Margaritas are $5 and bit on the stronger side. We tried Mango and homemade margaritas and weren't too pleased by it. They have draft beer too and a limited wine menu. The decor is average and casual - though colorful and spacious. Perfect place to come in a big group. The prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly. One has to order food before seating. For vegetarians would recommend- vegetarian burrito and roasted garlic and spinach quesadilla. One has an option to add different sauces to one's burrito for additional $. There is a lot of variety - burritos, quesadillas, nachos, enchiladas etc. Overall a good place to try at least once. read more

I had the red chili stew "special". Pretty awesome. Very tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced. Topped it off with a margarita. Totally satisfied. Restaurant is definitely casual and kid friendly. Noise level was definitely high, but I didn't see any rambunctious kids. Plenty of seating plus outdoor seating. I can see them putting in some heaters for the outdoor seating in the future. Quite an extensive menu so I have plenty of choices in the future. I didn't rate the restaurant 5 stars because you have to wait in line to give your order (my pet peeve, I hate lines). We have been to Dos Coyotes many times, and really enjoy the food (my favorite is the shrimp burrito), but haven't gone since the shelter in place started. This week the craving became to big, so we ordered food online and I went there to pick it up. I honestly didn't feel comfortable doing it, because this place is usually packed, and I'm trying to stay safe during this crazy time. But I had no reason to be concerned! Dos Coyotes has done an excellent job making food pickup safe! One door (towards the back) is entrance, the other (where you order) is exit. They have created a path through the restaurant, and marked where to wait in line with yellow tape, with proper distance between guests. And when you have picked up your food, you walk straight out. I was also concerned about the open salsa bar, but it's closed, and instead you ask for the salsa by the register. Just what I hoped for. We were already fans because of the food and good service, but I also think Dos Coyotes deserve credit for making food pickup a safe experience during the COVID-19 lockdown. Trying to find decent Mexican food is always a toss up. Came in to grab dinner for the family on the way home. Made it before closing. The kids were happy with the order except they gave us the wrong beans. Both burritos were better than expected. I would recommend ordering double veggies for the veggie fajita burrito. The grilled veggies were barely sprinkled in the middle of the rice. They also had a veggie option asparagus quesadilla. Wasn't too sure of how it was supposed to be served but they gave me a small handful of arugula, toasted pumpkin seeds and a lime vinaigrette. It was decent. Overall was happy with our order. Dropped by here with my family about a week ago. We were nervous when we arrived since there was a massive line nearly out the door. The line itself took a while to get through, but once we ordered, the wait was pretty short. I strongly recommend browsing the menu while you wait, so you know what to order. The wait after you order is made better by the complimentary chips and salsa bar, of course. Despite how large the venue is and how busy it seems to be, the restaurant feels clean. While I held a table, staff came by to clean the tables. The salads are HUGE. If you're getting one of those, definitely make plans to share with your party. I ordered the Santa Fay Nachos, and they were bomb. I loved the guacamole and all the flavors. There was a pretty big amount of food, so I wasn't able to finish it all. In general, San Ramon is lacking when it comes to Mexican food options, so we were so happy when Dos Coyotes opened this location a few years back. They have not disappointed! Did Coyotes is now our go-to Mexican restaurant and one of our favorite dining options in town. You should note that, like so many other new restaurants, Dos Coyotes is setup "cafeteria style" whereby you order at the counter and seat yourself. They do, however, bring your food to the table and the servers are friendly and helpful, making it feel more like a full service restaurant. Food-wise, they have great tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, and salads. The grilled steak and grilled chicken are both flavorful and work great in tacos and burritos. They also have fresh fish and shrimp; try the Paella burrito! Furthermore, they have margaritas and a good selection of beer. The owners are big supporters of the local schools as well.
