Another burrito bowl for lunch on a work day. Food is almost consistent and there's seating so lunch is served to me. I'm pretty sure I ordered chicken as my protein choice, black beans, white rice, lettuce, peppers, cheese, basically most of the free toppings. They have some seating, but as expected, most people take their orders back to the office. Had this for lunch finally one day. There's a $6 discount if it's your first time ordering through their app, so my bowl came out to be around $6! The workers were chill and friendly. The food, however, was disappointing. The portion size was smaller compared to typical bowls. The chicken was a good protein choice, for being soft and juicy. I thought I added a decent amount of toppings, but even still, the flavor was not there. It felt very dry. I usually don't notice the black beans in my bowls because they just blend in with the taste, but here, something was off with the beans that I had to pick them out towards the end. There are no GMOs in their flour tortillas, corn tortillas, or rice. However, the corn chips do contain GMO corn (90% of the US corn crop is GMO). In case you were wondering their thermal receipt paper is BPA-free. Shout out to DT for keepin' it Green. Disclaimer: Not to say if they didn't keep it Green I wouldn't eat here, but I think it's pretty snazzy. Their current practices include composting their kitchen food waste. Their utensils, cups, straws, napkins, bags, and platos are all compostable. The tables and wainscotting are all made from reclaimed wood. I got the impossible bowl from here with seamless. Delivery didn't take too long, but it was almost all cold when I got it. The impossible meat was warm, and when I mixed everything together it was just a cold burrito bowl. I've had this problem at some places, but I guess the best delivery is chipotle. I've never gotten anything cold from there, and maybe it has to do with the tin foil lid chipotle uses. I'm not really sure. Aside from that, the bowl itself was pretty good. The impossible meat was awesome and tasted just like beef, and the consistency of it was like beef too. I would order again from here, but maybe I would try something different next time. I'm sure if you eat it there you won't have the same problem. And if you don't get things like lettuce and tomato in it you could microwave it. read more

I've worked in the Lower Manhattan area for quite some time. Years back, I worked maybe two or three blocks from where this location is, but at that time Dos Toros wasn't built. I believe this was a Good Burger, or maybe that's the location next door. Anyhow, we only had the option of Chipotle, which is located across the street. The line was down the block and would take a minimum of 45 minutes typically, no exaggeration. I left the downtown area in 2012, and fled for Midtown where I had my first encounter IN 2016 with Dos Toros. Unfortunately, that was short lived, because I left Midtown and returned downtown toward the end of 2016. Luckily for me, this location exists just a few short blocks for me and now I much prefer over Chiplote. This is a solid location; the line isn't too long, the prices are good, they don't seem to run out of essential items like steak or rice during lunch times, they provide you a decent portion without being requested to add more, in fact, as I get a veggie burrito they often ask me if I want more rice or black beans. It's just a much more pleasant experience than Chiplote, all around. My sole negative is they don't have much space for seating. In short, Dos Toros is expanding throughout the city, and they have won me over as a customer in just a short year and me only visiting two of their locations. read more

This is one of the closer take-out places that I frequent. The only reason I choose it over other tex-mex fast food venues is because they deliver and they are pretty fast. Recently though, I feel like the portions and the quality is declining. I've always liked the burritos, and I usually get them with quinoa because it's such a really great difference. However, it's super mushy and wet now that it completely soaks through the tortilla. I've also had a recent experience of having a delivered order with one item missing, and the burrito bowl (that I paid $2.00 extra dollars for) did not come with the tortilla on the side as I had requested. I almost never write reviews, but I felt inclined to write one for Dos Toros now. They have completely changed, especially from pre-pandamic quality. In the last 2 years, the quality has gotten worse, and now they have raised their prices AND are upselling everything from queso to 2 sizes of chip bags (I had to ask twice to explain the difference in sizes. Long story short: the small bag is the same size they used to give out). I used to go to Dos Toros because I loved it, in the last year I went to Dos Toros because it was quick and easy (especially since they are never busy anymore). Now, its not worth it. WAY too expensive for worse quality than ever, and mediocre customer service. Sorry, until you lower your prices, and raise your quality, you have lost a customer. read more

Food was acceptable but service was terrible and rushed. The staff did not listen to what I was trying to order and made assumptions about what I wanted. Ended up with a bowl that had multiple ingredients in it that I did not ask for. They were rude when I let them know that they messed up and did not let me reorder. They also got my boyfriend's order completely incorrect too by wrapping up his burrito before he done listing ingredients. Especially considering this is a chipotle style restaurant where the premise is that you have to customize your order, it's pretty egregious that the staff doesn't listen to what you want.
