I absolutely love this tequila restaurant, The food is always beyond my expectations. The salmon caesar salad is one of my favorite things on the menu ( The salmon & lettuce & so fresh it's not like your typical salad) along with the elote appetizer. The drinks are a little on the spendy side but it is sooo worth it ( drink with caution ). The view is both beautiful during the day & night so try to get a seat by the window. A meal for 2 can easily cost you $100+ definitely more if you get more than 2 drinks. Overall it's definitely worth going to if you want to have a nice night out read more

One of our favorite restaurants over the years was Toro Bravo in Portland. We loved the tapas style dishes and would typically order several, happy to spend the kind of money for a great meal, When they closed permanently last year, we were sad. I first heard about Dos Alas last week and after reading the rave reviews and seeing the style of food, I was super excited to make a reservation! Making reservations 4 days in advance, we had the option of 415 or 845 for dinner on a Sunday night. 415 it was!! As we waited in the entry, lots of people coming into the restaurant. Everyone dressed nicely except for a pair of women in workout leggings, Nikes and hoodies. They definitely looked out of place. Most had reservations but a few walk-ins turned away. We were taken to our seats, and you can tell they were still figuring things out (being a new restaurant). The person seating was directed to set us at a high table but... I'm currently in a wheelchair so that wouldn't work =) We started with drinks and they are expensive!! Cocktails all listed at $20-$24 a piece. They had some punch bowls designed for 2 people, priced at $40 each, My husband got a standard margarita, nothing fancy, and it was $15! Any other bar this should have been $5-$8. If you have not been to this kind of restaurant before, it's typical to order throughout the meal and each person will generally order 2-3 dishes each. The food is delivered to your table as soon as its ready, Everything is then shared family style. The server will also let you know this. To start, our food order was Brazilian cheese bread, short rib empanadas, street corn and pork belly skewers. The cheese bread was jealous but as I bit into it, liquid came out onto my plate and my shirt. I am not sure if it was oil from the deep fry or from the garlic butter. The price for the bread was also high I thought. $8 for four pieces of bread, each about the size of a donut hole. The empanadas were really tasty but the filling was barely warm. Since they were served to us as soon as they were ready, I would have thought they would be hotter. The street corn was tasty but I am a spice wuss. I can't handle hot/spicy foods so could only eat 2 forkfuls. My husband gladly ate the rest. I was really looking forward to the pork belly but this dish didn't have a lot of flavor. It was sweet with the sauce but the pork itself was mediocre, We also ordered the lamb chops which I really liked, but I did not feel it was a $22 dish. Overall, I felt the prices were too high for the food served, I don't mind a high dollar meal if the food measures up. This meal did not We spent just under $100 ($97) and we left hungry. I could have ordered more food but I wasn't willing to spend more money there. (I went home and had a 50 cent can of tomato soup and it was more satisfying.) Dos Alas seems like it's just trying too hard. It's following the trend of the overpriced restaurants on the waterfront, but based on other reviews, people are gladly paying these prices! There are definitely some positives, but unfortunately the negatives ruined our experience. My husband wanted to take me to a nice dinner out for a "date" night, but we got less than expected service and mediocre food. Our waitress was pleasant and she took our drink and appetizer order quickly upon being seated, but took a fairly long time to return to take our entree order. When the food did come, only my plate came and the food runner hightailed it away from our table without mentioning when we might expect my husband's dinner. After about 5 minutes of waiting (since when we go to a nice restaurant it is customary for us to eat together) my husband flagged down the food runner to ask about his dinner. When asked where our other entree was, the runner replied with a bit of an attitude that he was only a food runner and would go check. The food appeared about 2 minutes later but was luke warm as if it had been sitting in the window for that entire 7 minutes. Our entrees were also disappointing. The skin on the Yucatán Chicken was rubbery and my ribs were tough and chewy. We are not planning to return for dinner and instead will probably return at some point for drinks and maybe small plates since the drinks are beautiful and delicious and the decor and view are amazing. read more

Super nice place is all they have really going for them. Price: $$$$$ Price compared to portion size is extremely high. Ya, nice place right on water front means high overhead. But there are other restaurants I've been to for a long time at same location and the prices at all the other restaurants are very competitive and give you decent size "normal" portions. Food quality: for what you pay and the way the place looks you'd expect way better quality food. Meat was all fat and no flavor. Presentation looked good though. I think this place focuses more on presentation rather than actual quality. Got something with what looked like a sliced bell pepper of some sort on one of the meals, wife and I ate it while thinking it wouldn't be spicy. Well waiter later said we ate a habanero lol. Our mouths were burning for a good 10 min. Btw, no food for kids. Drinks: Can never go wrong with beer haha. But margarita (they call it something else) we so-so. Smoked over priced old fashioned instantly lost its smoked flavor after first sip. Too bad it wasn't better. Was hyped for a cool new spot on the water. But was a big disappointment. read more

I came to this place without high expectations due to reviews and previous bad experience of an acquaintance but I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from experiencing this place myself because my experience was good and my family and I enjoyed it. I had a reservation for 5 people and got seated within 10 min of checking in. The place was pretty, very Instagramable. We ordered the drinks and food pictured here (not pictured the Mexican street corn). Most food came first before our cocktails. It is tapas style which means everything is shareable which I like, but to be honest, most servings are enough for one person (or maybe I just eat alot). The only one in my opinion that is shareable because it was a lot, was the paella. Everything was really good and seasoned nicely. I really liked the yellowtail ceviche. It's refreshing. The crab toast was creamy and also delicious. The lamb (3 pieces) was seasoned and cooked well to our liking. The salmon was cooked well but not dry and I really liked the grains that came with it. The one food item I didn't really like was the Mexican street corn. We felt that it was too salty (and I like to eat salty food, but the one we got was too salty). The drinks were also good. My mom ordered coco Chanel which she enjoyed. I had the beautiful pear basil. It was good, you can't taste the alcohol at all but I expected to at least feel something. I'm lightweight when it comes to cocktail drinks, so much so that I get tipsy after drinking a cup of Costco brand margarita, and this one didn't do nothing. It's pretty to look at, refreshing drink but if you're looking to feel something, get something else. We also ordered a flight of margarita which was good as well. Our overall experience was good. This is my new place to bring family and friends to when they're in town visiting. The dining experience is amazing! The vibe in the restaurant is upbeat and perfect for a date night. The cocktails are amazing and the food is even better! There were multiple items on the menu that we tasted, and immediately put in a second order. The crab toast was one of my favorites along with the pork belly skewers. I highly recommend the salmon or paella for an entree. I've seen reviews of people complaining about the prices, but this is NOT a cheap dining experience. You're paying for an upscale restaurant, and the quality of the food and drinks speaks for the price. I am loving DosAlas, the new Tequila bar on the waterfront. The venue is stunning, very fresh and modern. The staff is beyond friendly, everyone was welcoming and I could see their smiles through their masks. Everyone seemed to be really excited to be there. The food came out as it was ready and we shared it, family style, as it came out. We tried pretty much everything on the brunch menu and it was all good. Our favorites were the Huevos Rancheros Verde, the Cauliflower Sando, and the Dulce De Leche French Toast. We can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu! read more

The Dosalas patio has some of the best views of the Columbia River at the Waterfront. We went there for lunch on a sunny, March Saturday. I made reservations and we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is beautiful. Very romantic and hip. The view of the river and bridges is fantastic and the counter-top fireplace along the bar kept the space warm toasty. We didn't sit at the bar, we were at a nearby table, but the ambient heat kept us comfortable. I was a bit disappointed that we weren't able to sit along the front of the patio (with the best views) because we were a party of two and there were only four tops. This would have been understandable on a busy day, but many of the four tops remained empty the entire we were there. We arrived during brunch, so we didn't get try the tapas, but we each enjoyed our sandwiches. I had the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was cooked nicely, the bun was pillow-soft, and the spice was perfect. I'm not into spicy food and didn't feel this was too much spice for my palette. My husband had the Pressed Cuban and said it was very good. The portions are small, which didn't bother us, but if you have a big appetite, you may want to order a few dishes to share. Tapas, brunch style. We ordered wine but enjoyed watching the "Instagram-worthy" drinks go by. The one that stood out as it passed by was 'The Kylie', served in a golden birdcage. Our only complaint was that the waiter rushed us out. I was still working on my sandwich when he came over, asked if we wanted dessert or the bill. I didn't know if I would want dessert because I WAS STILL EATING my sandwich, but he seemed so ready to be rid of us, so we just asked for the check. As we were paying, we noticed he had a large party sit down in his station so maybe that's why he wanted us gone. Understandable but we aren't high maintenance guests and would have liked to linger in the space and finish our meal and drinks at more leisurely pace. All in all though, the experience was great and I would recommend a visit. We'll be back for a romantic dinner at sunset. read more

First and foremost the restaurant interior design is STUNNING. It's something new and modern that the Portland/Vancouver needed for sure! This place gave me a Miami vibe and the view is stunning, also there is a lot of Instagram worthy backgrounds here. Staff were very nice and attentive, our waitress Allison was awesome! The food came out so quickly while being a busy establishment, we couldn't even keep up lol DRINKS - the guava lavender was my favorite has the sweet & sour citrus flavor. The coco Chanel was also another favorite if you like coconut beach vibes. Least favorite was the woo girl punch bowl. Small plates we had tried a little bit of everything. Most favorite dish were the ceviche and pork belly skewers. The pork belly was marinated to perfection so flavorful. The grilled octopus was amazing perfectly grilled flavor the chorizo at this place is soooo good and tender! The tuna tostada is a must as well and empanadas were flaky and had tender short rib inside. Shareable- the PAELLA is a MUST TRY here hands down. Ambience is great, but the food and drinks are so overpriced just because of the location. Food is mediocre at best nothing special. You can go to portland, OR and go to restaurants there that have top chefs and that have been featured on food/cooking channels and have been awarded their great tasting food that is a lot cheaper than this place. These negative reviews are NUTS. And so far from the experience we had tonight! We originally checked out Dos Alas because I kept seeing social media posts by the owners... and I was so excited to try! The service was SO quick. We got our food in less than 10 minutes. And the food tasted SO FRESH. Our server (short blonde hair) was super helpful and had tons of recommendations. We were able to get a seat on the patio without requesting it (got lucky!) after calling ahead. The hostess did let us know that we'd have to wait a few hours to be seated, so we spent some time at the waterfront which was fun! The chipotle chicken sandwich and street corn are TO DIE FOR. Literally! We also got the crab toast and cheese bread , both good as well, but the sandwich and corn shocked me with how much I liked them. I like to note that I am an EXTREMELY picky eater.... and these were SO amazing. The sandwich portion was also a perfect size to share. Gorgeous views. Atmosphere was the only plus in our experience. Let me preface this with: I dont mind paying short of $200 for dinner for two, but when you do charge that much, quality is mandatory. I also have years of chef experience specifically with seafood. Drinks were unremarkable but far from the price point charged. We ordered the Sofrito Seafood Scampi for two and it was what you would expect from Applebees. The grilled lobster was small and way over cooked. Menu noted "Colossal" scallops that were maybe "large" on the scale, and that is being generous. The four shrimp were 40 count and rubberized. Fingerling potatoes and cauliflower were very over cooked and reduced down to shriveled wood like pieces. The andouille sausage was so small and over cooked we had to have a discussion whether it was meat. All this in a poor presentation and a $99 price tag. Again, if I was at Applebees and paying $29 I would be fine, but $100 requires a higher level of quality. I could understand a bad chef in the back but bargain basement ingridients are not acceptable. . They are trying to be a higher end establishment but their food does not represent such. To top it iff the service was very slow for a Wednesday evening and numerous tables open. read more

The good: We went on a Friday night with reservations for 7 pm. Two couples. We were seated promptly at a window table with a stunning view. Service was great. Food quality was excellent. Ordered a sizable number of dishes so we could try a wide variety. We all thought the cauliflower was amazing as was the ceviche and street corn. Drinks were yummy and fun. The not so good: Price point was exorbitant for the quantity. We knew that tapas style dishes would be on the smaller side but you are spending $8-$30 for tiny appetizers. Drinks were $15-20 each. They have a steak for $150. Like others' reviews here we left still hungry and after spending $180 per couple after tipping. The evening started out really fun but we left feeling like we were being bled dry by the prices. For the amount of money we spent we all agreed that we should be really full. Drinks are fire and appetizers are perfect. The food is always right, hot, tasty and full with flavor. My wife and I have been here probably about 5 times. Boy. Seems like there's a love hate relationship with this place. Unfortunately, I tend toward the latter. Yes, a group of 5 of us went shortly after their grand opening but I've not been inspired to return given the mixed reviews, which is a bummer since I'm so close by. Didn't have the tequila I wanted on their menu and mixed up our drinks. Then the salads were super soggy and the timing of all the food seemed off, even though it's supposed to be more share plate style. Not sure if if I'll give it another try or not. Spendy for what you get, as others have mentioned. And I'm not a fan of the LA/Miami vibe decor. read more

So where to begin. We came to Dosalas to celebrate birthdays with family and friends. It was the first time at Dosalas and although the food was delicious I may not be coming back. At the time the reservations were made we were unaware that we had been seated in the 21 and over area. So when we arrived we had to be reseated. However, the area we were seated was less than ideal. The sunset was directly in our company's eyes and there was no sun shade to relieve the sun rays. The location was also in front of the kitchen which made it impossible for the server to serve the entree at table side. We addressed our concern to the staff which offered for the party to move , yet again but by this time our meals where on the table and when one is paying at or above 100.00 an entree the individual or individuals should not have to move to be comfortable. I believe if you are charging the prices you are charging you should not have to worry if where you sit you will be comfortable or not. Our server was somewhat attentive. We asked for water refills numerous times and it wasn't until after dessert that we had water served to us. The staff who served the entrees were friendly. So for these reasons I may not be back. read more

Moreover they were unwilling to bring out any of the dishes we ordered in courses. You just order a bunch of their pricey small plates and they bring them out when each one is ready, no consideration given to the pacing of the meal. Just moved to Vancouver and have been exploring the city to find my list of the go-to's for my friends and family and Dosalas is atop my list so far. Perfectly located near the waterfront, really great craftsmanship on the interior to make it have an upscale feel, and the food/drinks (at least what we could get through) were great!
