My all time favorite bar that somehow nailed both cocktails and food. I'm a sucker for fried chicken, and they just happened to have the fattest, tastiest fried chicken sandwich. Highly recommend their hot honey fried chicken (5/5) as well as their popcorn chicken with thai basil sauce (5/5). My favorite drinks were definitely #1 and #3. The cuppa sunshine tasted like yuzu espresso-- an insane flavor combo-- and the best espresso martini I've had. Early Bird was so easy to drink, like sipping on a green tea shot. Close runner up is Tipsy Tulip in such a cute cup and Space Dog with a nice smooth taro flavor. The Double Bubble was cool aesthetically and conceptually but as a milk tea lover, it was strange but not bad, to drink an alcoholic version with mini boba. My least favorite was the Holy Shishito because it had wasabi and the spice was just off. Otherwise, I'm definitely coming back once I can snag another reservation. I'd take anyone visiting NYC to this spot!
Getting in is the hardest part. Once you're past that door it's all good from there. I would suggest smaller parties 4 or less, and getting there before 6pm if you can. As the night rolls, the line lengthens. They will take a name and number and text you. So you can go elsewhere and come back. But a 2-3+ hour wait can be a real bummer if you have this in mind. Food. As the name implies. Chicken. I've had the chicken sandwiches and every one is great, every time. Drinks. This most recent visit was the first time I get into the coop in the back. I tried their new papaya salad cocktail and their cold pizza. Both were stunning and fascinating. Both drinks of drink with those foods, and somehow tastes like those foods. The papaya salad moreso. For a fancy hot spot in the city, prices are solid and expected. For two sandwiches, two cocktails and some na drinks we were out for under $100 with tip for the two of us. I look forward to my next visit.
Best drinks we had in NYC! Would highly recommend if you have the time to wait in line or are lucky enough to snag a resi. Our party of 2 got in line ~4:20p and were the first to get seated at the Coop bar. Pro tip: Coop is the back of the restaurant with the more creative cocktails imo. It also has fun chicken decor. The menu is organized as appetizer, entree, and dessert so of course we had to get 1 of each for a full meal. Melon prosciutto: a crispy basil garnish to go with a very refreshing melon cocktail with a slight savory finish. Thai curry: a complex and savory mezcal cocktail with a Thai iced tea popsicle garnish. We loved the concept of drinking what we would normally eat and eating what we would normally drink. Key Lime Pie: a highlight! Literally tastes like key lime! Actually I loved this way more than an actual key lime pie. Highly recommend!! (It's ok to be basic sometimes when it's THAT good) Stuffed wings: surprisingly delicious. No wonder this place is named after chicken. Very tender and juicy!! The perfect snack to go with our alcohol meal
This was a super fun bar experience! I'll start off by saying the worst part was waiting in the long line to put my name down for a couple of hours in advance, but they made that process as smooth as they could, so I can't complain. Once we finally got in, we were escorted to the back room where the ambience was amazing. The servers were very helpful in telling us what each drink was like, and when we finally decided what we wanted, they were excellent. We got the Key Lime Pie drink, the Cold Noodles drink, and the Custard drink, and they were all amazing, but the Cold Noodles and Key Lime Pie drinks really stood out. The Key Lime Pie drink was sweet, with a nice tart underlying flavor that was balanced very well. The Cold Noodles drink actually tasted like cold noodles. It was amazing! It was just savory enough to be reminiscent of the food item, but sweet enough to still be palatable. We also got the popcorn chicken, which was good, but I wouldn't necessarily rush back for it. Next time, I really want to try their chicken sandwich. Overall, this place was amazing and worth waiting in line to try at least one time!
Rated as one of the top 50 bars in North America, you can expect that (1) a reservation here is a bit hard to get and (2) if you come on a weekend, you can expect a 1+ hr wait. Fortunately, I came on a Thursday evening around 7pm and my wait was just a bit over 15 minutes. Double Chicken Please has two portions to their establishment: the front (Free Range) and the back (the Coop). Although it isn't difficult to get into free range, they don't offer food options. So, I've been wanting to check out the Coop and finally go to try recently! We got their popcorn chicken and oolong pudding for bites, and for drinks we tried their: Key Lime Pie, Custard Bun, Cold Soba Noodle, and French Toast. All of their cocktails were phenomenal. I wouldn't quite say that they taste exactly like their respective dishes but they are definitely are inspired. The food here is also amazing, and I am absolutely in love with their popcorn chicken. Probably one of my favorite bars in NYC.
The cocktails are wonderfully creative and so fun to try. These are definitely the star of the show and I highly recommend the key lime pie. After trying 8 of the cocktails, this one truly stood out and I will undoubtedly attempt to make it at home (It was seriously that good, do not skip on the key lime pie cocktail). The fried chicken sandwhich was actually very spicy, I didn't expect the strawberry glaze to be that way but it worked extremely well with the sandwich. I don't think the mochi donut was done very well, the mochi name felt like it was thrown in there as a buzzword to motivate orders without being very distinctly "mochi" itself. With that said, the chicken was fried perfectly.
Opened on the LES in 2020 and named the No. 1 Bar in North America in 2023 and most recently came in at No. 35 on North America's 50 Best Bars 2026 list. We arrived around 9:30pm on a Saturday with basically no line and got seated in the front Free Range Bar section within 10 minutes. The vibe is amazing and the drinks are so uniquely crafted. We tried three cocktails and my favorite was the Early Bird. I have been to the Coop in the back and enjoyed there even more with their separate menu. Still a great vibe and a cocktail bar like no other.
Double Chicken Please has been on my list for a long time, and I'm already itching to go back! Walked in as a party of 2 at 10pm on a Thursday and got seated right away. We ordered the french toast and the key lime pie (both listed as dessert drinks on the menu) and both were sooo delicious! The french toast came with a cookie-like chocolate that I was told to eat in between sips of the drink. That really elevated the drink - it genuinely tasted like french toast with really great cinnamon and maple syrup flavors (very sweet though). The key lime pie was also great, and our server said it was one of their most popular. Didn't try the food this time, although I definitely want to next time since everything looked great. The service was the one thing that was not great - our drinks came out probably 15 minutes apart and it took far too long for us to close out. But the amazing drinks are worth coming for!
The vibes inside were really cool and interesting, definitely doesn't look anything like the outside. The drinks were super interesting, especially the cold pizza one where it sounded strange, but it tasted quite good. The food was really mid though, and for a place that has chicken in the name you would think the chicken would be better. For food we got: * Salted Egg Yolk Fried Chicken - 7/10: there was honestly way too much chicken, not enough acidity, and not enough crunch * Lobster Shiso Tempura - 9/10: surprisingly very refreshing and tasty * Chicken Liver Mousse - 7/10: nothing special, the butter was WAY too hard, should at least be softened a little... Service was fantastic and friendly, just if I come here next time I would just get drinks and no food.
Did a walk-in for a group of 3 on a Friday night around 8pm. We only waited about 15 minutes, so I was surprised. Overall, I think the food definitely outshines shines the drinks, but that's mainly because a lot of the drinks are savory food-inspired, and I like my cocktails more sweet than anything. For example, drinking the cold pizza felt really unnatural. It tasted just like gazpacho, but the idea of drinking a pizza just was not hitting the spot for me. The egg yolk sandwich was amazing though.
Heard so many things about this place and have tried to come several times but the waitlist was always full. Returned another night and was able to join the waitlist right after opening - went to grab dinner in the mean time and returned 2-3 hours later in time for our table. I tried the Red Eyed Gravy, Thai Curry, and Key Lime Pie. The Key Lime Pie was the only drink of the three that blew my mind and reflected what I'd heard about the cocktails at this establishment. The Red Eyed Gravy and Thai Curry tasted like standard cocktails with impressive garnishes, but did not resemble their names much in taste otherwise. The popcorn chicken was good but the chicken sandwich is better! Servers don't stop by often but are still around when you need them. They're also pretty strict on the 2 hour time limit. Overheard some funny guys complaining about how this bar is NOT the place to meet single people, fyi. Would love to come back and try the Pizza Cocktail now that I know how early you have to waitlist to get a seat.
Came by to check out their drinks on a thursday night after work, you have to choose between the old menu or the new menu when you walk in. My group went with the new one in orange because the other old version in black would be a two hour wait, we had a party of five but could only get seats for 4 by the bar so we had to rotate seats and take turns standing on the side. The menu was really cool and there's a mini game you can play to help you randomly choose a drink, we all think it's rigged, because all of us kept getting the number 4, i ended up trying four because that was also what the bartender recommended as a fruity drink, but I didn't like it so I traded with my friend and he got like a coffee drink. Donut chicken sandwich looks cool but is skippable and has a spicy kick to it, i found out that it was coming from spicy pineapples which was interesting. Hot honey sandwich was pretty good. Our seats were still not ready for the other bar by the time we finished and every time we asked the waiter, it's always a 30 minutes or 45 minutes additional wait even though it's already past the two hours estimate we got since 6pm. The seating arrangement felt really messy. I think this is one of those places where you would try once and probably won't go back again for me. And definitely not worth the two hour wait. I also couldn't understand why they wouldn't just serve all the drinks at the place and would have to split it by the front and the back seating... that really didn't make sense.
Nice vibes inside, dimly lit, kind of like mid-century living room decor style. Bonus weird bathroom. The servers are pretty good at pushing the drinks and also would like u to order a lot of drinks. You can get reservations for groups of 5-6 but smaller is pretty much walk in. Inside they have bar seating and couch sofa areas for bigger groups. I got the salted egg yolk one. It was fun with the aroma bubble smoke gun, but the taste was not as creamy or as salted egg yolk flavor that I was seeking. It kind of had an acidic initial bite and then aftertaste of custard. The mango sticky rice was another one that ended up more like a whisky sort of drink that what I expected. My favorite tries of the night was the cold noodle soup cocktail, it was amazing. Tasted exactly like an Asian cucumber salad but had layers and flavors to it that you felt like you were in a willy worka factory eating one of those meal ball things. The dorayaki was also nice, not like red bean or bread flavor but very mapley and reminded me of japanese autumn. Overall I think they excel in savory drinks and if I go back I think we were all eyeing the curry one. The fried chicken sandwiches are decent. I got the mochi donut one which was kind of sweet salty like orange chicken, but the most memorable part of it was that the jalapeño was spicier than the hot sandwich lol. The donut is not a mochi donut but its a pretty good texture, think it needed to be more of a baked good/powdery sweetness vs a syrupy acidic sweet from the glaze. The hot chicken sandwich was my favorite. I didnt get much salted egg yolk flavor from the bites I took of the other one, but I felt like that one lacked complexity. Overall, its pretty nice if you have a medium sized group for the couch seating. Seating is quite tight on the bar.
I love the cocktails from this place! Just unfortunately always a long wait and a long line. This is my second time here. My friend and I got placed on the waitlist for the front for 1.5 hrs. But when we check in, we were informed that the coop is available for 30 min where we can do one round of drinks. We ordered the mango sticky rice and the French toast cocktail drink. Both were really good but I think my favorite drink was still the Japanese cold noodle that was refreshing and surprisingly tasted just like Japanese cold noodle. read more
Randomly popped by around 1030 on a Tuesday. The place wasn't too crowded but initially they sat us in the front. As we planned our escape (bc you gotta get into the back) we were routed into the back room. Once we got back there we ordered 2 hot chicken sandwiches and 3 rounds of drinks. Cold pizza = 4/5 Japanese cold noodle = 5/5 Waldorf salad = 3/5 Red Eye Gravy = 4/5 (tastes like a werthers original) Hot chicken was 5/5, drinks were also good but the service was beyond disappointing. One of the bar tenders we had the unfortunate privilege to sit across from was overly arrogant, wouldn't use words to communicate but rather stare condescendingly. The other bar tenders were much friendlier than this one individual who was super disrespectful. As we attempted to order drinks he'd roll his eyes, or just stare like a deer in headlights. This happened for the next 2 hrs.... Whatever happened to customer service, was lost with this gentlemen. Had to downgrade the tip all bc of his $hitty attitude which I never do bc I know how hard the service industry is. read more
What a fabulous experience! There are two different rooms here, with different menus entirely. You have Free Range (cartoon themed with small bites) and Coop (food themed drinks with chicken sandwiches and light bites). Expectations were high and they were met (and more!) We had a reservation for Free Range. We also put our name on the waitlist for the Coop. The Coop is more competitive to get into. At Free Range, we sat at the bar and had the following drinks: PUTS, Poison Apple and Pooh. The drinks were unique and amazing. The PUTS is a SpongeBob tropical drink, Pooh is a take on a Bees Knees (but better) and Poison Apple is a heavier drink that is like an Appletini. We split the Oolong pudding for dessert which was good - love the black sugar caramel sauce. We were told there was a 90 min wait for Coop but after about an hour, they called us in for the Coop! The interiors of the Coop are moody and gorgeous, whereas Free Range is more light and cartoon-y. We also sat at the bar at Coop but they do have tables. The space is not large but the bar has a fair amount of seats. At Coop, I had the Beet Salad drink and my friend had the Key Lime pie. These drinks were also mind blowing! The Beet Salad drink tastes just like beets with a twist of mascarpone. The Key Lime drink literally tastes like pie, even the pie crust. It's amazing how they can get this flavor profile into the drink. To eat, we had the cucumbers (spicy but good), tofu sandwich (holy crap, one of the best tofu sandwiches I've had - crisp to perfection, legit tasted like chicken) and my friend had the bolognese grilled cheese, which she enjoyed. The entire evening we had great, attentive service. The staff is well read on the menu and happy to make suggestions. The sound level of the bar is slightly louder than average but you can still hear your friend talking. One bathroom (don't be alarmed - they play chicken noises in here lol). The space and bathroom do seem ADA accessible. I can see why this bar was rated one of 50 best in the world. In my opinion, absolutely worth the hype and worth multiple trips. read more

This must be our fifth time going. We went to the front room to try out their new seasonal menu. The drinks are inspired by our childhood cartoons. I love the Grand Lotus which is based on the Last Airbender. Never a bad experience here. The food was really good too! I loved the pork belly. read more
I'm so glad I was able to try Double Chicken Please. We were a party of 2 and we got lucky as we only had to wait 5 mins on a Saturday night with no reservation and then got seated at the bar. The setting is dark and really nice and lively and inside and service is great too. I got the French toast drink twice and it was so good. You can barely taste the alcohol and it comes with a cookie they make in house. I'm vegetarian so I didn't get the chicken items but I got the tofu burger. It was good but the peanut sauce was a bit overwhelming. I got the mushroom dish as well and it was unique and good if you like mushrooms a lot. The dessert looked like a Big Mac hence the name, and the attention to detail is impressive. The taste was okay but the presentation alone was worth ordering. read more
The "dual concept" thing is a bit confusing but we were lucky enough to experience both in one evening. I was unimpressed and not excited by the food menu at free range but I did try the poisons Apple cocktail which was good. I was starving so I was happy we were able to get into the back room. Two of us split the popcorn chicken with two sauces, the hot honey chicken sandwich and the baby gem salad. Food was all incredible and came out pretty quickly. They thought of all the little details. I tried the prosciutto melon cocktail which was different and enjoyable. Service was overall very good. I just don't think this is a spot I ever need to frequent because it's such a niche concept. read more

Such a cool bar! Apparently it was voted the number one in N America in 2023. It was hard to get a reservation since it books up quickly. The drinks taste like food, so there's "appetizer" and "main" drinks. I got the Egg Custard and Japanese Noodle drink. The Japanese noodle one was so refreshing, and I'd get this again. It really did taste like the fish. The egg custard one was a bit overly sweet and I didn't enjoy it as much. My friend got the green curry drink, which I was definitely not a fan of . Double Chicken Please was the perfect final stop after a night of bar hopping, and easily the highlight. We walked in at last call expecting to be turned away. Instead, we were welcomed straight into the back bar, seated ring-side, and invited to order two drinks each. That turned into eight completely different cocktails across the table, and every single one was a showstopper. These drinks are not just cocktails, they are experiences. Wildly creative flavor profiles, unexpected accouterments, and visually stunning presentations. Watching the bartenders work up close only added to the magic. The space is effortlessly swanky, the staff is friendly and relaxed, and the energy feels special without being pretentious. Prices were exactly what you would expect for New York and absolutely worth it. This is a must-stop. Save it for late in the night, take your time, and enjoy the show. read more
Queued for nearly an hour to try Double Chicken Please -- and while the vibe was cool, I'm not sure it was fully worth the wait. The cocktails are fun in theory but a little underwhelming in taste. Price point is mid for NYC, but given the hype and line, I expected more. That said, the chicken sandwich was great -- crispy, juicy, flavorful. If there's no wait, I'd go back for that. But would I line up again? Probably not. read more
Went to the back room (coop) after about an hour and a half wait. We got there around 4:40 before it opened and got in around 6:30 maybe? The key lime pie was definitely my favorite! We also got French toast and cold pizza. The French toast came with a housemade Oreo with dark chocolate! We also got the hot honey and salted egg yolk chicken sandwiches. The hot honey was more classic. The bar itself is very nice and cozy, and lots of chickens everywhere. The bartenders were also really nice! read more
i had been wanting to try the wildly popular double chicken please since learning about their highly experimental cocktail menu and fried chicken sandwich!!! after a week of monitoring the resy app, i was able to secure a reservation for 9:30 pm on a weekday. given that it was ranked number 1 among the world's 50 best bars in 2023 and number 2 in 2024, it was quite difficult. without a reservation, your expected wait time could climb up to 2 hours even after 9 pm! i invited my best friend to join me for a cheeky cocktail, but we ended up ordering more than just one. drinks were delightful homages to cartoons from childhood, from doraemon to lilo & stitch to shrek! i very much appreciated the attention to detail they paid to each ingredient and presentation! but, do let the ingredients rather than the name guide your order because its execution may not be as appealing as its concept. i would recommend confirming the flavor profile, level of sweetness, extent of sourness, etc. with the bartender! the lighting was moody, while the interior decor was wildly absurd............but tastefully so. there were flowers in a ceramic vase molded into the shape of a rotisserie chicken and a tiny chicken perching on the large jaws of a crocodile propped on the bar counter. chicken paraphernalia were hidden in every corner. if you retreated to the restroom, the sounds of them followed. with every additional sip of a cocktail, these curiosities become a pidge more amusing. prices were steeeeeep, so having a friend to enjoy the wide variety of items on the menu was nice. food from the free range menu were small bites (not tapas that could be combined to replace a full meal), while the sandwiches on the coop menu were decently sized. non-alcoholic drinks costed the same but i opted for one since my tolerance was terribly low and i wanted to be alert on the train i was taking back to my accommodation after midnight. service was on point! when my best friend stepped away from our perch at the free range, our bartender jason put her drink in the mini fridge to keep it nice and cool! i came to try the new free range menu, and it did not disappoint! the drinks and menu were super creative, so many good options it's hard to choose so the plinko complements it perfectly. i got the golden orchard and the smoky drink as well. the golden orchard was their play on a whiskey sour, it wasn't anything to write home about but it was still a strong and well balanced cocktail. the boba drink was something i've never seen before, boba and alcohol seem like a weird combo and it definitely is. the drink was good but like the bartender warns it's smoke dominant. super unique flavor profile but i enjoyed! the holy shsihito was another great unique option, the smokey shishito after taste was a nice touch to the tequila forward drink. we also got the ube drink and that by far was the favorite. the ube foam they put on it was amazing and it had a nice sweetness and bitterness to it. the food here is always good, i got the popcorn chicken which was perfectly herby and crunchy as well as the stuffed chicken wings. ambiance in here is always great, we can at 7:30pm on a sunday and it never got too crowded through 9:30pm. music choice was great and bartenders were friendly! read more
My coworker recommended me this place when I asked for bar suggestions and I'm glad she did! I saw that they had awards up for being the No.1 North America Best Bar in 2023. Unfortunately, you cannot make reservations. They open at 5PM but people start queuing up before then. We had a choice between sitting in the Free Range (front part of the bar) or The Coop (back of the bar). They both have different menus and we chose The Coop. It definitely seemed like a cool place to be with the dim lights and low seating. For cocktails, we got the Japanese Cold Noodle, Thai Curry, and Mango Sticky Rice. The innovation and creativity with the drinks were really standout. The drinks were interesting and really did simulate the dishes they were inspired by. You could really taste the sesame oil in the Japanese Cold Noodle drink. The Thai Curry was a bit spicy. I think the Mango Sticky Rice would've been better if it was sweeter. Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (5/5): This was definitely yummy. The fry on the chicken was great. The honey was subtle and worked well with everything. Popcorn Chicken (4/5): I wish there was a bit more spicy on this but it was good! It is a perfect snack for drinking. This is definitely a nice cocktail bar. If you are looking for a fun place to hang out with friends, this is the spot. The drinks are interesting and the food is good. read more

This was my second time visiting double chicken please, and I had a very nice time. Everything we ordered was great and spot on. We really enjoyed our time. Service was fast and friendly despite how busy it was in there. The bar was beautiful and the drinks were all very special. read more
Was happy to cross DCP off the bucket list, but not sure I'll be going back. The drinks were overall pretty good, but slightly missed the mark. For every drink except the key lime pie, I felt that the carb element was missing, so the cold pizza tasted like a caprese salad, the Japanese cold noodle tasted like a Din Tai Fung cucumber salad, etc. The chicken on the other hand was pretty good and the mochi donut one caught me by surprise. I'm glad I was able to try the drinks, and think others should as well, I was left wanting more. read more
I've been wanted to try this 50best Best Bar in America, finally stopped by after dinner nearby around 9pm on a Wednesday, the place was still busy when we arrived, a long line outside of the door. we were quickly placed in the FreeRange front room but standing only but was able to move to the bar seat before our drinks were made. The front room (Free Rang) has a completely different menu than the Coop, the back room the Coop is the award winning bar, so dont be confused , make sure to get on the list to go to the Coop while you are having a drink at the front room. the hostess will get you in the front room when you clear the list to the back. At Free Range: -- The Poison Apple: good taste especially the rim, taste like a plum juice with sweet and salty taste. -- The Pooh: a bit of earthy taste but refrshing -- Pocket of Sweet : My favorite one, the drink combines with the pine cone dessert is a perfect balance. -- Ogres Have Layers: Please skip , the onion flavor is too strong, it taste like Worcestershire Sauce At the Coops: -- Red Eye Gravy: The favorite of them all, strong and corporate well with the piece of bacon -- Thai Curry : Second favorite, a bit like thai basil martini with a thai tea popsicle on top , well balance. -- Butter Raisin Biscuit: a dessert cocktail , creamy and nutty, it doenst taste good by itself but with a little bite of biscuit then it taste great, recommend for people who like drinks are sweet. make sure you take small bites unilt you finish the drink. -- Cold Pizza: Its very popular drink , it taste like basil martini, also a little bit like margarita pizza. -- Waldorf salad: very fresh drink with cucumber, it reminds me of the palate cleanser cucumber sorbet during your meals -- Mango Sticky Rice: Not my favorite even I like Mango sticky rice but it does have rice flavor but not sure if i want to drink a rice water. the Chicken sandwich is the Boom, the portion is huge. i would come back just to eat the chicken sandwich. The price tag is high but not extreme for this award winning place. the service is attentive, the space is very cozy, also means the tables are very tight. we had a great time with friends to try out all the drinks. im glad I tired it but not sure if I would come back especially not if it's a long wait. some reservation available online but 80% seats are for walk ins. read more

Wow this place truly lives up to the hype. I tried hard to get reservations which only open up 6 days in advance. Unfortunately, I couldn't get one, so I attempted to walk in. I got in line around 530pm - wait for your turn to put your name on the list. I was quoted 1 hour for the front room and 3 hours for the back room. I only had time to wait for the front room. They take your number and text you when ready. Our seats for the front room were ready in about 30 minutes. The drinks were phenomenal and very unique. We ordered a few bites as well. Even the food was great. The only downside is the front room has an entirely different menu so you can't order the sandwiches or the back room cocktails. I can only imagine how great the drinks and sandwiches are in the back room. Overall it was one of the best bar experiences I've ever had and would recommend anyone to come. read more
Favorite drinks: Anyone can cook (at Free Range), Cold Pizza (at The Coop) Went with a friend and walked in to the Free Range (10min wait) and waitlisted for The Coop (1.5hr wait), and timing worked out - highly recommend doing so if you couldn't get a reservation ahead of time. The Free Range: Brighter and more loud setting. Drinks are inspired by cartoon characters, and the ingredients work unexpectedly well together - it's worth being adventurous. If we had to pick one, our favorite would be the "Anyone can cook", but others worth trying are "The Pooh", "Ogres have layers", and "Space dog". Food is good for snacking, we shared the "Chicken and the egg". The Coop: Dark and intimate setting. Drink menu is online and cocktails are inspired by whole meals. Hands down my favorite bar ever been to. I've been to a handful of the 'top 50 world's best bars' but this tops the list for me. When going with friends we ordered practically all of the drinks to share and try together. The menu is unique and each cocktail I felt very accurately tasted like the food it was supposed to represent. My favorite of the ones ordered was the key lime pie drink. We were able to line up day of to put our name down for a reservation at the bar that same evening. The interior was a great vibe and we enjoyed sitting at the bar where we could see employees creating the drinks. The food was also super tasty. The wait times can be long so make sure to line up a little before their opening times to secure a spot quickly. I managed to snag an ever elusive reservation to the Coop at Double Chicken Please for myself and my three friends, and I cannot wait to go back again. The ambiance is dimly lit with a beautiful bar and plush seating (my only small gripe is that the tables are very close together and tiny). We got there a little early but were able to get seated right away and our server was so kind in walking us through the menu and answering any questions we had. We ordered a number of drinks, including the French toast, the key lime pie, the Japanese cold noodle and the mango sticky rice. Every drink was so delicious and complex, but our standout favorites were the key lime pie and the mango sticky rice. For food, we ordered the salted egg yolk sandwich, the tofu sandwich, the koji cucumbers and hot honey chicken sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches and the cucumbers were great with a nice heat to them. We all would love to go back again to try Range (in the front part of DCP). I've heard amazing things about DCP and thought it was overhyped-- how could just a bar be so good?! I was blown away by how wrong I was! DCP has unique cocktails that are impressively well-balanced in sweetness and flavor, with a beautiful interior and excellent bartenders to top it off. Walked into the [front room] on a snowy Saturday at around 10PM, only waited around 5 minutes for a table. We had The Pooh (6/5), The Grand Lotus (6/5), and The Poison Apple (5/5). If you like a creamy taste, I would really recommend the clarified milk cocktails-- something about them really hit the spot for me! I'll be back to try the back room. Reservations come out 6 days beforehand so make sure you are fast. We made ours for 11:30pm, got seated at 11:45, and the kitchen closes at midnight. We ordered two drinks and a chicken sandwich before midnight to ensure we would be able to get a sandwich. We got our drinks, the melon and prosciutto and the french toast, which were both spot on and delicious. The melon was sweet and had a hint of saltiness from the prociutto and came with a thai basil leaf to add flavor. The french toast was a sipping beverage that came with a chocolate and was almost like cereal milk. At around 12:20 the waiter came back and told us they're out of sandwiches so the kitchen has closed and they can't get us anything else or compensate in anyway. Then two tables near us got served popcorn chicken which was super frustrating. Honestly ruined the vibe and was super disappointed especially since we were visiting. read more
we made a resy on wednesday around 10pm for thursday at 530pm for 4 people. they held our table for 10 mins and then seated 3 of us bc one more was being held up by the bus line. i was really worried they were going to give our reservation away because they said that if another party fully showed up, they would give up our spot. as i've heard great things about this place, i was really excited but also nervous they might not seat us definitely the star of the night: their cocktails tasted exactly as what they were named: key lime pie (second fave), french toast (kinda tastes like cereal), japanese cold noodle (very refreshing actually, not that salty as i would have thou, custard bun (my personal fave due to the sweetness) we also got their popcorn chicken (a bit salty) and their hot honey chicken sandwich which was pretty unique, a def must try! read more
While it's almost impossible to get a reservation for the main bar in the back you can often get a reservation for the front bar which has a different menu. When you arrive you can put your name on the list for the back bar. Be prepared that it will be a 1-2 hour wait depending on your party size. The Side Kart cocktail in the front bar was my favorite cocktail of the ones we tried. The chicken and tofu sandwich options in the back bar are great. The sandwiches are huge. I'm not really a cocktail person but this was a fantastic experience! The drinks were amazing and the servers were great at explaining each drink and recommending what you personally would like. My favorite drinks would be the key lime and custard bun. Food was great as well, definitely recommend popcorn chicken over the sandwiches if you arent starving. It's good compliment to have with the drinks. Also recommend coming 30/40 minutes before opens there's already a line forming at that time but the line goes quick once they open. read more

Had the opportunity to revisit double chicken please and snag a reservation at the coop. Went with a group of friends which made trying a lot of things easy. We were seated quickly and the staff gave us information regarding the menu. The dark, lounge interior is cool and fun. The bar is central. The awards are prominently displayed. The coop is a different experience than the front area. The cocktails are all delicious with standouts for me being key lime pie, Thai curry and Waldorf salad. We ordered hot chicken sandwiches and grilled cheese bolognese sandwiches to share which were both large and delicious. 2 hour limit with a group of four. I highly recommend the coop. read more
We stopped by close to midnight on a Thursday and were able to get in with no wait! I don't think I'll ever be able to get in earlier than that otherwise. This is one of the few popular spots online that truly met my expectations. I ordered the Japanese Cold Noodles and my friends got the Key Lime Pie and the Dirty Margarita. The Key Lime Pie is one of the best I've ever had and the Japanese Cold Noodles was SO interesting. It left me thinking back to my drinks for days. Since it was so late we unfortunately couldn't get any chicken, so I'll have to make my way back for the food. On the other hand, it was so late so we had a round of mezcal shots. They were pretty weak so I don't think this is a good spot to go crazy on shots. I'm giving four stars for now, but hoping I can come back and bring this up to five! read more

If you find yourself in New York looking for a bar that's fun, unique, and note worthy, check out DCP! Their drinks are modeled after famous foods and dishes, and they execute them pretty well. I was afraid the food and drinks were going to be too gimmicky to enjoy, but I was completely wrong. They do tend to use mezcal in a lot of drinks, so if you don't like the smokey taste, opt for something else they have. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE JAPANESE SOBA!! it was refreshing and hit all the right spots. The food was delicious, and I would definitely come back. It's dimly lit with low lighting, but I think that adds to the whole experience. Our server took great care of us, and I will definitely be back on my next trip. read more
Food 3/5, but drinks and vibes 5/5 which sealed the deal. Surprisingly no wait for 2 for the back room at 6pm on a Wednesday evening, though they did give us a 1 hour limit. I got the salted egg yolk chicken sandwich which was ok for me, probably a 3/5. The chicken was pretty dry and stringy. Also tried the tofu sandwich which wasn't bad but nothing mindblowing in my opinion. I feel like both sandwiches needed more sauce and more flavor and were both on the dry side. For drinks, we shared the key lime pie, Japanese cold noodle, mango sticky rice, and French toast. The key lime pie was our favorite hands down! I cannot get over how amazing this drink was. I'm not a fan of strong alcohol taste and this one barely tasted of alcohol and literally tasted like an actual key lime pie. My next favorite drink was probably the French toast since I generally have a sweet tooth. It didn't really taste like French toast though and tasted more like an espresso martini. My next favorite was the mango sticky rice, which didn't really taste like mango sticky rice but tasted more like a fruit tea. Still delicious though! In last place I'd have to say it was the Japanese cold noodle since it didn't really taste like Japanese cold noodle either, and the only thing that separated it from being a regular alcoholic drink was the sesame oil, which I didn't really taste. I think aside from the key lime pie, the drinks didn't really taste like the names they had but they were still really unique and delicious (coming from someone who doesn't drink often). read more

There's no separate entrance but you don't need to wait in line - tell the people at the front door and they'll usher you into the front room to wait for your table to clear up.
Do you need reservations?
