I recently stopped by Double Rainbow Cafe in Benecia a few weeks ago with an urge to have an ice cream fix. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of flavors offered. I was so hungry for ice cream that I ordered a triple scoop of chocolate ice cream. Huge scoops. Ice cream was delicious and so creamy. They also serve milk shakes and ice cream sodas. The two servers, Mia and Gia, are sweethearts and very conscious of health and hygiene standards by using a gloved hand when using the cash register so not to cross contaminate when serving the customer their ice cream....a definite plus. All of the employees are always welcoming every time I've been there. There is easy on-street parking, and there are tables inside and a few tables outside. Kids absolutely loved this cute shop! The ice cream cone chairs made it a fun experience. My oldest was super excited that they had shaved ice and he got half Tigers Blood and half blue raspberry. It reminds me of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia (of course that's richer and more flavorful) but this to me is soo good and delicious, it's a very close second especially considering this is soy. You wait outside until you're called in as they serve 1 customer at a time. They do allow indoor seating but there's plenty of sitting areas outside. Enter in one way and exit out another.
