Stop trying to upsell drinks. Just give me water.
Zyra P.

Ate here on a busy afternoon and I'm extremely disappointed with the service provided. When I first walked in I was instructed to scan a QR code and the whole interaction was very minimal. I was really thirsty for water after shopping in downtown the whole day and the staff kept trying to ask if I wanted a beer or a Coca Cola like NO JUST GIVE ME WATER. Why do you need to ask to give me water?? Everything about this interaction felt so transactional like if this was the kind of service I wanted then I would've went to McDonald's. The food was alright and the staff looked miserable. I would've probably been better off at the doughzone near the paramount theater.

Had a lovely meal here! I started with the ube milk tea with rainbow jelly. It was very sweet but delicious. We got a variety of steamed buns and they were all piping hot and fresh. The service was pretty slow and we were never checked on, but overall still had a good meal.

From the outside and interior, this place feels sleek and modern which gave me high expectations that the food would match the vibe. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to that. The soup dumplings barely had any soup in them. While one of my friends enjoyed the pork bun, I found it pretty average compared to others I've had elsewhere. My friend actually placed a to go order for another pork bun, which was supposed to take about 15 minutes but it was completely forgotten until we asked about it 30 minutes later. Overall, I really wanted to like this spot because of its aesthetics, but if you're looking for some solid dim sum, I'd recommend trying somewhere else.

Ambience is nice; convenient location on harbor steps wiyh great lighting. Service is polite. My companion recommended the egg fried rice and scallion pancakes. While the rice was flavorful, the portion was small (barely a cup and a half of rice), and lukewarm. For $6.50, you expect better. The pancake was crispy, but too oily. The dumplings were terrible. The pan fried version had a great crisp on the bottom, but the top part (where the dough is crimped) was less than al dente. Meaning, it wasn't cooked all the way through. Same for the steamed version: soggy bottom, partially cooked at the seam. What was truly disappointing was the filling: flavorless, mass produced meat pellets. I wanted to like this olace but the food was so disappointing.

This place is almost like DTF's chiller, more down to earth cousin. We went for a late lunch and got the chicken XLB, pork XLB, shrimp and pork potstickers, pork buns, banana crepe and a Thai iced tea. Everything was okay, but nothing really blew me away. The soup dumpings were my favorite, though the craftsmanship of them was a little off. My partner really enjoyed the pork buns. The banana dessert was downright nasty and oily and I wish we'd not gotten it. The service leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't say anyone was rude, the servers were just really inattentive and blasé and the restaurant wasn't even extremely busy. It took forever for refills and we had to flag someone down to ask for the little bowls to make our dipping sauce, which I kind feel like should be a no brainer at a dumpling restaurant. One of the moments that bothered me the most was when we asked what types of seafood the seafood sauce that comes with the broccoli is made of because my partner has a crab allergy. The server said "Let me check," and walks away. Of course, we're thinking she's going to come back with a verbal answer, instead she returns with a small bowl of the sauce and gives it to my partner to taste? We reiterate that my partner has a shellfish allergy and she's like "It has crab and shrimp, yeah don't eat that." Cool. We verbally order the broccoli without the sauce, and go so far as to cross it out on the paper menu slip...It still arrives to us with the sauce on the plate and some of it is spilled on the broccoli near it. I'd come here again if I needed a quick dumpling fix, but I probably wouldn't rush back.

Beef noodle soup

Don't really understand the hate from other reviews because it's literally sub $15 soup noodles (at least the beef noodle soup option). Where else are you going to find this in downtown Seattle? The portion sizes are good and the beef noodle soup is so rich and flavorful. Service is fast and attentive, and the restaurant, which seems pretty recently built, has a very fresh and new vibe to it. Would come again! Great view over the bay for a walk after your meal as well.

Whew, I was so excited for dough zone because we have no equivalent where I live. Overall, the food was okay but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The bao, pancake, potstickers were excellent. The broccoli was very undercooked (raw) and the cucumber was underpickled by a lot. The ma la noodles and fried rice were okay. Getting any additional refills or napkins was really hard. The team would hear your request then come back about 5-10 minutes later to actually fulfill it. This is challenging with young families when you're trying to contain the mess your child is making. All in all, I would come by myself to specific items. It didn't work well for us that evening.

Came here out of convenience since Pike Place was closed, and honestly wasn't very impressed. The aesthetic of the place and food looks good but I felt that the food itself was just decent. We ordered the sesame romaine lettuce salad (one friend doesnt like cucumbers, and another doest like kale), pan fried potstickers, chili wontons, xlb, dan dan noodles, and beef stew noodle soup. Maybe because I've tried other places that specialize in these dishes, I felt like the dishes were quite bland and lacked flavor. I was a bit disappointed by the noodles as it just seemed like ramen noodles for both the dan dan and beef stew. I was expecting the noodles to taste more fresh but it was a little soggy. If I'm being honest the salad was my favorite. The lettuce tasted fresh and the sesame dressing paired well with each crunchy bite. What really made us scratch our heads was that we had been seated at a (5 seat) table, but 15 mins later one of the servers asked us to sit at a smaller table (4 seats) because there happened to be a party of 5 that just came in. We wouldnt have minded if this was at the beginning, but we had already been seated with water, ordered, and started snacking. Maybe this day was a bad day, but me and my friends would not come back again.

Large restaurant and maybe because of the time/day there were not many customers. Boba - too sweet, no real tea flavor 1.5/5 Soup dumplings - decent amount of soup inside. a little messy when presented.. skin a bit thick too and not super yummy. 3/5 cucumbers - not seasoned enough or pickled enough. basically just nicely cut cucumbers. 1/5 Fried dumplings - more oily than anything. not too good. 1.5/5

Pork Boiled Wontons in Chili Sauce (6) 红油猪肉小馄饨

Was at downtown seattle & my sister goes to Dough Zone franchise a lot. Food is delicious, portions are small, it's more of an individual meal sized compared to other dumpling houses where it's served family style. We all ordered the beef stew noodle soup, the broth is flavorful and balanced with the tender beef. Comes with two pieces of lettuce, pieces of beef, noodles, and green onions for garnish. My sister ordered us the sweet and sour cucumber....blew my mind. It was so crunchy, had the perfect tang, and is cut in a specific way that is a continuous log which I enjoyed. I also ordered the pork boiled wontons in chili sauce, it comes with 6 pieces and is pretty small compared to the wrapper to meat ratio. Besides that everything came hot and was delicious. I ordered the passion fruit tea and the rest of my family shared the jasmine tea which comes in a coffee pot ensuring that it stays warm. We were seated pretty fast considering how busy it was, you scan a QR code in the entrance and they call you afterwards. Plenty of seats and tables. Service was good but no one checked up on us throughout our whole meal until we finished eating.

Pork & Shrimp Boiled Dumplings (6) 猪肉三鲜水饺

I love this spot for its prime location near Pike Place and Post Alley. It's close to the action but without the chaos. The space is roomy, and unlike some of the other locations, you're usually not stuck in a long line. The food is reliably excellent and true to the brand. My personal weakness is the sweet-and-sour cucumber. It's so addictive you'll swear they sprinkle magic on it. Potstickers are always a safe bet, and the pork and shrimp dumplings never disappoint. Pair it with their cold sake, especially the Nigori, and you've got yourself a perfect combo. If there's one thing holding this place back, it's the service. Initial orders come out fine, but once you've got your food and drink, it's like you've entered witness protection (good luck getting noticed again.) A little more attentiveness would take this location from "solid choice" to "standout favorite."

They've gotten so busy now that they do it in the back, and if you don't time your visit right, be prepared to wait in a long line. This is my absolute go-to combo on a chilly day, and honestly, the best hangover cure: Wonton Noodle Soup, Cod Fish Congee, Chinese Broccoli, and Chinese Donuts (Youtiao). You cannot skip the donuts--they are a must! My personal ritual is adding a splash of pink vinegar and chili paste into the congee, dipping the donut in, and taking a huge bite. My husband prefers the beef wonton noodle soup because it's rich and hearty, but I love the classic, clean flavor of the plain wonton soup with its seafood-based broth. Writing this sucks and also I feel like I'm giving a completely honest and fair review of last night (Friday, June 19, 2026) from 7 to 8:30pm ish. Two hairs - one in my kaisen champon, one in my partner's niku udon. A dead bug in the niku udon. A staff member walking the floor actively bleeding from his nose with a napkin stuffed into it. Any one of these on its own would have been a rough night. All three in the same meal is something else ‍ The kitchen is small and open so you can see and hear everything, which meant we also got a front row seat to the chef yelling at his staff multiple times throughout the evening. The team was clearly working hard and seemed genuinely understaffed, but the kitchen felt like it was coming apart at the seams. We were in line to order for about five minutes, during that time we heard the employee at the register say to the man in front of us that there is no more summer special cold udon flight. Bummer, but totally understand. The menus are acrylic boards at the ordering counter, there were two for the two specials and they were left up when we went to order. The employee told me that unfortunately they have run out of the other special (not the flight). She turned around to do something else for a bit, came back, so I ordered the flight and she said they don't have that either. LOL okay!! No worries! I asked if any of the udon can be made cold? She asked the head chef. He yells back that he has no time for this. Like a good one minute lecture, yelling at the staff. So sorry I made him yell at this poor girl I ordered kaisen champon and my partner ordered the niku udon. We waited for a good 30 mins for our food. Fine we like each other enough to spend time with each other and can clearly see it is chaos in the kitchen. We get our food. We didn't get utensils with our food, and were told "I'll grab utensils for you, sorry about that" So we just sat there waiting for utensils. Food is good but there are hairs and a bug ‍ During our time waiting the water wasn't ever filled (it's self serve) so after our food came I asked for water three times, kept getting "I'll refill it". The chawanmushi showed up 20+ minutes after our food, basically as we were finishing. And they don't have to-go containers, which fine, but worth knowing. I've given this place real chances. Last night felt like a hygiene issue, an understaffed kitchen, and a service breakdown all stacked on top of each other. Usually we go during lunch so maybe that's my recommendation moving forward - I'm giving this place a rest from the rotation for now.

The sayap ayam pedas was a huge portion for just 2 people, but we couldn't stop eating. The combination of soy sauce and fish sauce was not overpowering at all and the chicken itself was so juicy. The chicken curry in the nasi lemak was delicious with the coconut rice. Along with the anchovies, egg, peanuts, and sambal, it was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of bite. The kaya toast was the perfectly sweet dish to balance out all the flavors. I especially loved dipping it in the poached egg for a satisfyingly runny bite. I ordered a miso ramen and my parents ordered the tonkatsu ramen. As someone from the Bay Area, I was so surprised by the richness of the ramen and it definitely beats some of my usual spots. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork. We walked into a casual, compact space with a mix of counter and table seating that fits the quick ramen shop style. The interior is efficient and well organized, though it can get extremely busy, and the wait times are often one of the biggest parts of the experience, especially during peak hours. Once seated, the space feels functional and comfortable, designed around getting a bowl of ramen in front of you without unnecessary distractions. The ramen is built around rich tonkotsu broth with a lot of customization options. We appreciated the ability to adjust things like noodle firmness, richness, and spice level, which made each bowl feel more personalized. The regular tonkotsu ramen stood out for its deep umami flavor without feeling overly heavy, and the noodles had a great texture that held up well against the broth. The vegan options also stand out, including miso-based bowls with flavorful broths that give non-pork options more depth than many ramen shops offer. The toppings are generous, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked to that perfect jammy consistency. Beyond ramen, the menu has a few sides that complement the meal well, including gyoza that came out crisp and well filled. We also grabbed mochi ice cream for something sweet afterward, a light finish after the rich broth. The seasonal ramen options are worth checking out since they add variety beyond the standard bowls, giving regular visitors a reason to come back and try something new. Service is generally quick and friendly, especially considering how busy the restaurant gets. The ordering system is straightforward, and the staff handles the constant flow of customers efficiently. The team kept the pace moving without making the experience feel rushed, and they were attentive to refilling water and checking in on the table. The biggest downside is the popularity, since the lines can sometimes feel long for a relatively quick meal, but the wait tends to move faster than expected given the efficient turnover. Ramen Danbo is a reliable spot for a satisfying bowl of ramen in Seattle. The customizable bowls, strong broth, and consistent noodle quality make it a place worth visiting, although planning around busy hours can make the experience much better. The balance of customization and quality means you can dial in your bowl exactly how you like it, and the focused approach to the menu keeps the attention where it belongs.

This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles.
