I came here at 11 AM right when they opened, so there was no line. Because of the hype I've been hearing, I expected it to be really good, but I left feeling a bit disappointed. Here's what we got: Q Bao (3.5/5): It was piping hot when we got it, which is good. I am a big fan of the traditional sheng jian bao (生煎包), so I was a bit taken aback by the different style. It was quite juicy, but I felt like it could have been more flavorful, and I wished there was more filling. Pork and shrimp dumplings (3/5): The filling was tasty and there was juice, but it wasn't anything spectacular. The skin was also undercooked (you could still see the flour bits) on one of them. Xiao long bao (3.5/5): I liked that there was a lot of juice, but similar to the Q Bao, I wish that the filling and the juice was more flavorful. I feel like I have had better xiao long bao elsewhere. Green onion pancakes (3/5): the green onion flavor didn't come through into the pancake. It was crispy though. My boyfriend also got the wontons with chili oil, and he said it was good, but the serving size was small. Overall, the service was good, but the food was nothing special. read more

Second time back: I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, hot and sour wonton, and beef pancakes. Loved them! Especially the Dan Dan Noodles. Love the spice to it. Service was pretty fast even though there were only two staffs. read more

Came here during my stay in Seattle since din tai fung was filled but was pleasantly surprised with the food. The place is very affordable with plates ranging from $6-$10 however, portion sizes are at max for sharing with two people. The mango green tea was delicious. Can't remember the exact food we got but one of the plates was the Chicken & Vegetable Wontons w/ Hot & Sour Sauce . The sour sauce left an unpleasant linger taste almost like vinegar so wish we had stuck to just spicey. Similar thing with the dan Dan noodles. Service was quick. Anytime I or new friends come to visit Seattle i make sure they stop by this hallmark of a place for dumplings and q-bao's fried buns. This location seemed new for how clean it was. Staff was friendly and always on tentative of us. Like i said, the Soup Dumplings.. the Q-bao's.. the cucumbers.. the chili wontons.. and the naan bread are a must have. i'm not too crazy about the dan dan noodles but that's just me. I'm so disappointed. Dough Zone has changed a few things since I was last there. My favorite used to be the A Choy with sesame dressing. They've changed it to romaine with a watered down sesame dressing which just tastes like wilted romaine. The Q baos are so small now and seem like they are frozen. I won't be coming back. Din Tai Fung has a much more consistent quality and the price is not too different. What a shame. read more

We are ecstatic to have a Dough Zone within walking distance of our house now, just west across 25th Ave from the University Village. Been to the downtown location a few times with decent quality, which brought us to try out this new location. The menu is the same so we ordered many of the same dishes. Consistently, the quality is poor here. Beef is tough to chew, soup dumpling is half broken, with the soup tasting like loaded with MSG. Also, what's with the serving size? A bowl of noodle is so tiny it's like bite size. It feel like a fast food place, but our bill came out to be more like going to an expensive restaurant since we had to order a second round. I've only done takeout from this location, and I really wish they had more vegetarian/vegan options. Please add the steamed vegetable dumplings to your menu! The vegetable potstickers are great, but it's not enough for a full meal by itself. The sweet and sour cucumbers are usually tasty, but the most recent time I did takeout a few weeks ago they just tasted oily without much flavor. I want to love Dough Zone, but honestly Din Tai Fung across the street has so many more delicious vegetarian options. read more
