After I test drove it one of the dealers Andrew was trying to charge me for everything little feature that the car had. After a bit of back and forth a different man named Michael came and made the price a lot cheaper but we didn't come prepared for purchase. Take the drive to Alhambra or El Monte. This place is terrible. They have 1 eTech (it's what they told us) and so good luck if you have an EV. They'll gaslight you and tell you there's nothing wrong with your car but they weren't there when it stranded us at Target. So let's make this easy with a bullet point list: - our advisor never showed to our 8 am Appt and if it wasn't for the Christmas spirit demonstrated by the advisor next door, we'd still be there. -we told them there was something wrong with the EV System because the light came on. But I guess we're deaf and dumb cause they told us that there isn't. - they had no problem charging us $180 for a diagnostic! Yup - for a guy to plug it in to a computer and have coffee while he waits. - they had the balls to "Recommend" that we have them change the cabin filter ($85) despite me having recently changed it myself for $16. -they had the double balls to recommend a brake flush - we just did that within the last year ($145). No thanks. We're going to @Electric Ave. in LA on Hyperion Blvd for regular service and if we need Warranty work, we'd rather road trip to El Monte or Buena Park than get screwed again by these guys. I don't even know where to start because I'm in shock over what happened to my amazing family and I at this horrible excuse for a car dealership! I'll start by saying we came in to this location as it's our home location to do a lease trade on my daughters 2020 Sentra that turned out to be a Lemon and is in a full lawsuit as of last year. Our lease is up July 3rd and our Lemon case hasn't been settled so we have to at least look into our options on how to trade the car in or just term our lease. We went in this last Thursday and couldn't seem to come to any deals with Jose L. Just as we were about to walk out the manager on duty Mario comes out and says for the inconvenience of our car having so many issues he's going to give us a great deal with no money down and the car my daughter wanted as well as payment she could afford. It was late so we decided to think about it and come back yesterday the 16th. We came in for the deal we were offered the night before and tell me why we were being offered everything but the zero down??? We sat there for literally 4 hours trying to work a deal and out of nowhere another sales guy Jimmy comes over and asks Jose our sales guy to unlock the vehicle we were working a deal on so he can show another customer. I didn't think anything of it until Jose walked away and Jimmy comes and takes the keys off our table and proceeds to take the other customer for a test drive! Jimmy was extremely rude when I asked him why he took someone on a test drive in the car we are working a deal on. Jimmy said it was his deal very rude and walked away. At this point my family and I are in literal shock that 2 sales guys are trying to sell the same car! You have got to be kidding me so I walk over to the office where I see the manager Mario and he says it's normal protocol for 1 car to have more than 1 deal being worked on at the same time. In all the years of leasing or buying a car whether it be for me or a family member I've NEVER experienced such unprofessional and unacceptable behavior by a sales team! At this point we had it with this horrible sales team so we get up to walk out and get stopped and are told they'll let us pick another car and work an amazing deal for the inconvenience! We were so upset but convinced my daughter to go for another vehicle even though it wasn't what she wanted. We asked if they can find the same car at another location and were told it was sold out everywhere! We were at another Nissan dealer the day before and we saw an Altima just like the one we were making a deal on but were told they checked and it's now sold. At this point it's getting late so then we're offered a 18 month lease because if we just turned in the lease we currently have we would be a charged $950 to restock and about $500 for the miles it was over! We felt pressured and like we had no choice but to make a deal there! During the time we waited for a final deal my mother in-law had 3 dog treats in her pocket from her dog and put them on our table and playing around said to Jose our sales guy give these to your rude sales team. Jose took it upon himself and went to the office with the treats and gave them to the team as a joke. We didn't hear anything after that and everyone laughed it off and we went on to finalize our deal. Since it was already 10pm after we signed all paperwork we were asked to pick the car up 1st thing in the morning and it would get serviced, washed and gassed up. Come this morning my daughter sends Jose a text he says the car is in service and it would be ready between 12pm and 1pm. We arrive and look for Jose and he walks up and looks very disappointed and says we can't take the car today anymore. We ask why and he says because of the dog treat joke from the night before. Like are you serious??? WTH!! He says the managers want an apology before they give the car to us. I said I didn't do anything why would I apologize? Jose says they want my mother in-law to call! Like OMG! I call my mother in law and tell her what's going on and she says ok let me talk to the manager! Jose then says to hold on so we go outside in literal shock to wait. Jose comes back out and says they are terming our deal and it would be voided! Apology will not be accepted! Like Wow! Just Wow! In this case I guess it was a blessing in disguise because my daughter wasn't fully happy with the car she was getting anyways. Give me back my down and copies of the voided contract because we will not be responsible for the car we didn't take home! We end up back at another Nissan location and they still had the car we wanted there and the color Downey told us was out of stock everywhere! We also were able to add my daughter to the lease that Downey said we couldn't add her to! We came to find out DOWNEY was just lie after lie and were just giving us the run around for 8 hours! Get it together Downey Nissan and learn how to take a joke! PERIOD! read more

I have 48k miles on my car and my transmission went completely out when backing into my driveway. I was stuck blocking the street like an idiot! I had to go back n forth with Nissan before they admitted they know about the transmission issue! Then they tell me my axle needs work! When I purchased my car I told them about the pedal grinding and a clicking axel noise I would hear when I turn my wheel! They checked my car and said nothing was wrong! I was on the 105 freeway going 70 and my car lost power! I almost died because Nissan sold me a brand new lemon! Can u imagine spending 33k, don't even have plates yet, and your car stalls on the freeway???? I had a brand new car with a bad transmission and bad axel!!! I purchased this new car because I took my Altima in and the transmission was bad. I figured better to buy a new one than spend 5k fixing the old one. Then that same day they sold me a new car with a bad transmission AND axel!!!! Nissan mailed a notice out about their transmissions just recently and how to get a replacement or reimbursed! My transmission has been done but I will still have to come outta pocket for my axel! I wish I could pick this car up and YEET IT at the person who sold it to me! I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN! I took the car in because my transmission was screwed.. they said it was covered by my warranty.. after 2 days of not having a car they finally gave me a rental for 1 day and returned my car "fixed" "the transmission was rebuilt" Took the car in again for the second time this year except i took it to another Nissan dealership, because of some mechanical issues and you can only guess.. the transmission was never worked on according to the tech at this other nissan dealership and NOW i need the whole transmission rebuilt if not replaced depending on when they actually go in.. i was still charged 700$ for services at this dealership for work that wasn't even needed. read more

Buyer beware: This dealership will sell first time (and/or buyers who are on the autism spectrum) worthless "options" on a Nissan Certified Pre-owned vehicle (which already includes extensive warranty protection). Last July, Downey Nissan turned a $21,000 purchase into a $28,000 purchase by adding on options with little to no value to the customer. They took advantage of my adult daughter. -$2,500 for a duplicative unnecessary warranty (why sell this on a Nissan Certified Pre-owned vehicle?) -$3,240 for a "GPS Tracking Service" (for "5 years of service"). The hardware for this type of service can be purchased for less than $20, and monthly service fees are about $7. Charging $3.240 means either it is a purely predatory product designed to cheat unaware buyers, or that they think it is reasonable to pay for 38 years of GPS tracking service fees. At most, such a service may reduce insurance costs by $150/year. The loan officer, when confronted with this predatory priced product lied and said that 95% of Downey Nissan customers buy this service. This added 15% to the total price of the used car. -$995 for the oldest used car scam in the book, "undercoating." While the forms did disclose these as "optional" services, to a first-time buyer, it's difficult to read the fine print to understand what can be rejected. Why would Nissan affiliate with a dealership that allows such shady tactics as selling a warranty on a car that already had one and a predatorily priced GPS tracking service that the seller never instructed the buyer how to use or what it was for. See attached loan document. Yes, they disclosed these "options," but they shouldn't sell add ons that are worthless to their customers. In short, Downey Nissan lets its' salespeople make huge commissions on worthless add-on's to its used car inventory that are only sold to unaware buyers because of dealer financing versus value to the customer. My daughter got "taken" by their unscrupulous salespeople putting in add-ons to the tune of over $7,000 of unnecessary options on a car that was supposed to cost $21,000. See loan document photo. My fiance and I went here to try to purchase a 2021 Nissan Sentra and we got a call from Tai Ngo for *verbatim* $23,000 out the door including taxes, DMV, and registration. I repeated many times what he said to make sure that we both understood him well. Hence, I told him, if that's the price you said, I will come to you right now. Right when we got there, Tai gave us the quote and said "I don't know what changed. I don't know what happened." Apparently, they claimed that it must've been a misunderstanding / miscommunication between his manager and him or between Tai and us because they just meant that it was $23k for the car itself. What really upsets me is when his manager said "if it's too good to be true, then it is." His demeanor was an insult to us. It felt like he used that tactic to reel us there and then changed the price. I felt like he purposely did that just to waste our time. In the end, I went to Nissan in Garden Grove and these are just great people. Their salesmen are very knowledgable, patient, and real with us. They gave us a great deal and I highly recommend you guys to go to Nissan in Garden Grove. I would've given them 0 stars but the one star is mainly for Tai. Final Edit: Jason de la Torre again went above and beyond for me. He's the man to talk to if you're looking to buy a car. Last piece of advice, avoid the dealership's online credit check. Despite being told that the dealership's online credit check and the one run by Nissan Motor Acceptance Company would ultimately count as one inquiry, Experian does in fact count them as two separate inquires due to how the different companies are classified. Edit: What I thought had been a great experience has begun to sour. I've been trying for weeks now to get my copy of an amended purchase contract from Downey Nissan. Today the receptionist decided to play games, ignoring or disconnecting my calls, rather than putting me through to someone that could assist me. Completely unprofessional. I was left with no recourse but to contact Nissan directly. Hopefully they can provide me with a copy of my purchase contract this dealership refuses to provide.
