This review is solely on the food because the service was good. The girls were all super sweet and kind, so thank you for the warm welcome! I got the chilaquiles verdes and they were super sour and no spice whatsoever. *sad* The frijoles, potatoes and eggs had no flavor, my guess is they blend their beans with water so it takes from the flavor? My bf got an omelette and same with his dish, not much flavor and all we could taste was cheese. 4/10 for us and mainly because we were happy with the service. Also, I'm Mexican and know authentic when I taste it so I'm not sure if maybe I'm being to hard on them?:/ I guess that's not an excuse though. read more

Have been coming to this place for breakfast since they opened and the food had been great. Someone was going around checking quality control but the mas couple of times the fries have been awful. I returned it once because they were old. The second time I made sure I asked for fresh fries. I received less than a small fry at McDonald's. It was crazy. The other person order onion rings and they got a tower. I gave it another chance and asked for no salt on the fries this time. Portion was small and the fries were dreadful. I will get straight to the point. Good service and Good food. We have come here twice and both times have been consistent. Love the pancakes, great crepes and love the funnel cake breakfast. The beef tasted like beef. The ceviche was so fresh the fish just had the most perfect just caught flavor. Portions were big enough to get a second meal. The food was delicious, the portions were very generous. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The owner came over to greet us, which gave our visit that special touch. This little place in downtown Oxnard is a gem. The food was delicious and the customer service was personal and excellent. My husband had the special of the day which were the HABAÑERO CHILAQUILES and I had the DOWNTOWN BREAKFAST w pancakes. Hubby's Bloody Mary was delicious and spicy. Me and my family went in today for the first time since it open, let me tell you the food is very delicious I was very disappointed by all the mistakes they did they had to take all our dishes back more than once because they were all wrong more than once. The GM or the owner, I'm not sure, he over heard what was going on and approach our table he handle everything SO AMAZING. He made our experience much better after everything wrong had happen. I understand mistakes happen. But I was so happy with his actions and w the tastes of all the food. We are totally going back to this place. It's a cute spot to go for lunch and the food has a great proportion. My big peeve came down to the service. Our original waitress did not set us up with the minimum necessities of water and utensils. Another waiter Ramon had to keep telling her to wait on us. She would be great with others by taking pictures and such but then would forget us. She even delivered my friend's toast that came with her meal about 15 minutes or meal after our meals were delivered. Ramon came to our rescue and salvaged the experience. He's extremely attentive to all the clients here even when it's not his own table and that is a rare super power that you don't see in smaller places because of all the demands that come in a restaurant. read more

For my first time here, wanted to have something that seemed unique to this place so I ordered the Mexican Pancakes. The were tender buttermilk pancakes with crispy edges, rich flavor and caramel sweetness. Good flavor and texture profile, rich and sweet, but not too sweet. There was a woman that I was told was the owners wife that kept walking by us. Lupita (her name) looked me in my face a few times and NEVER greeted us, asked if we had been helped or nothing. What a way to make new customers feel welcomed to her establishment. Smh. I would hate to think it was a race issue. But it sure felt like it. My food was good but my partners food was mediocre not really impressed. Not sure I would go back though. Food was AMAZING! Mimosas are the best here! Also enjoyed the outside seating for a brunch feel. Favorite brunch place to visit. The only reason i gave it a 4 stars is because the waitress was outside fooling with her guy friends outside cussing at them instead of asking us for any refills when she clearly saw our cups empty... which was disappointing as well as our food taking 35 minutes to arrive because of new cooks which i didn't mind and understood that part but no reason for workers to care about friends before us regular guests... hope that improves. read more
