Ok... So I've been having terrible blood circulation in my feet and handsfor over 4 years. The problem has escalated to my legs going as high as my thighs where i cannot feel them because i'm so frozen and out of fluid blood flow. I had my first visit to Dragon Herbs yesterday on a whim and had such a wonderful experience! I'm currently working with allopathic and integrative doctors on correcting some hormonal problems and have been looking for other complementary treatments to help me long on my path to health. I decided to visit Dragon Herbs to purchase a tea pot I had seen on their website and to poke around a bit. Instead, I had an in depth conversation with Rose, an acupuncturist who works there, and she made some herbal suggestions. I also tried a tea from their elixir tea and learned a ton from Belle about tinctures that might help me. The whole space is lovely to visit and I really enjoyed the personal attention I received. The elixir bar is so fascinating and I can't wait to go back to try something new. I never felt pushed to buy anything and I feel the prices are fair, considering the high quality of the products. High integrity and quality. The herbalists are incredible and will assist you in every way possible. Master Ron Teeguarden is a humble and wise soul whom gave me guidance on what herbs to take. I came in here today with a group of three clients that I am health coaching for a wellness class I teach in West Hollywood. In hopes to connect them with one of their herbal consultants and get more information about their herbs, we walked in and we met a wonderful herbal man with a degree in Chinese Herbalism named Donovan. He spent time privately with each of my clients, checking their pulse, their tongue and asking other questions that led him to recommend wonderful herbs for each individual. We all were treated with such respect and care and we all left with a big smile and new herbs to try. I bought some sort of coffee replacement and the owner said if I didn't like it I could return it. He was also very honest about telling me he didn't have anything for High Blood Pressure. I appreceated this as he could have sold me something. Obviously a really decent person, hard to find today. I didn't like the coffee replacement and he took it back so pleasantly. I also returned some pills to help me sleep that didn't seem to do the job, and he was so nice about this, too. I bought some lovely tea there. If you want a great selection of tea, and honest advice on certain aspects of health, this is the place because of the charming owner. read more

I went with some friends this week and we had a fabulous time. They came all the way from Brea just to go there. We sat in the lounge area and one of the herbalists made us amazing drinks. There were several herbalists there who assisted all of us with our questions and gave us helpful information about all of the products. We stayed for hours and my friends left with bags full of Ginseng, tea and other goodies. read more

I was greeted by a very friendly woman at the 'bar' when I first entered. It was downhill from there when I went to speak with the herbalist, Rose, who was anything but welcoming. I had familiarized myself with Dragon Herbs website before going for a 'consultation' and I came prepared with a list of the things I wished to have treated with tonics. Her first recommendation didn't address any of the areas that I had told her were of interest to me. I don't have any health issues and didn't see the point of going through her computer questionnaire where she asked about symptoms that I don't have. It was at this point that she became dismissive and disdainful, handed me a product that may or may not have addressed all of my concerns as she said it would (the website description surely makes it sound like it doesn't) and made it clear that the 'consultation' had ended. Rose may know herbs but she knows nothing about dealing with knowledgeable customers. This was a very disappointing and unsatisfactory visit, my one and only. Wish I'd started at the 'bar' - at least I felt welcome there. It's because of that warm welcome that I chose 2 stars.. read more

The most authentic herbal shop i've been to. The founder and owners have real passion for herbs and I love how scientific and high tech they are in their approach to the cultivation, extraction, and preparation of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. And it begins with sourcing the purest, quality herbs which they do. Surprised this place hasn't been shut down by now. I am a believer in alternative and complimentary therapy but the employees here are walking a thin line of practicing medicine without a license. While I was there a woman came in who clearly needed a visit with a qualified mental health practitioner instead she was given a 10 minute "checkup" and was sold $300 worth of herbs without a mention of seeing an MD. I have a rare genetic blood condition was connected to a woman on the phone who recommended about $400 worth of herbs without seeing me or a disclaimer of go check with your hematologist or family practitioner. Very dangerous practices both for the shop and the customers. read more

I prefer drugless solutions whenever possible, which is why I was delighted to find this store right down the street from me on Robertson. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable herbalists. They have some tonics and herbs of which I've never heard (to echo some of the other reviews on here questioning the legitimacy of this place), but they also have books and other helpful materials regarding the study of herbs and Chinese medicine, which I found lent to this store's credibility. They will evaluate you if you desire or you can give them a list of ailments, and they will find the proper antidote. If you prefer sipping teas or tonics to popping a pill, this place is for you. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit. I had been meaning to venture in for quite a while but never got around to it. I'm glad I finally did. Daniel was patient and kind. I was experiencing a particularly stressful cluster of days. As if that wasn't enough, I was being hounded and exploited by a business I had supported for about 5 years, located just down the street. I wandered in feeling pretty upset and after speaking to daniel managed to feel somewhat better. He provided a generous sample of what he sensed might be helpful (sweetheart) and noted that there was another product that would also help but that the company has been out of for several months. The space is pleasing to be in. I'm look forward to returning in several days to learn more from daniel about their product line. read more

Everyone here is wonderful, but especially Donovan, who is very knowledgeable, patient, intuitive, and kind. After a friend raved about him, and the herbs he recommended for her, I went there with my boyfriend, and we are now both using the herbs he recommended. Not only does Donovan really listen and answer questions, he doesn't overdo it with the herbs. He just gives you the minimum at first, so you can try them. If you have an adverse reaction, or just don't like them, you can return them within 30 days. Although I've only just begun (I've not yet used up the first month's supply), I am already feeling some positive results, which I'm happy about (energy! focus! yay!). I've recently brought in another friend to talk with Donovan, and she is now also beginning a course of herbs. I'm not new to Chinese herbs, or to Eastern medicine, but I appreciate having someone who really knows their stuff giving me some guidance. I would highly recommend Dragon Herbs. read more

Dragon Herbs has always been one of my favorite stores for herbs. I especially like when they had the tonic bar in Santa Monica (although the one in Beverly Hills is super nice too, just have to drive farther). The people who work there are cool and knowledgeable and almost always go above and beyond to help. I wished they were cheaper, but quality costs (they have some great sources for high-quality herbs). Give it a shot if you want to feel healthy. Oh and one more thing, to the guy who is complainin about taxes: HERBS ARE CONSIDERED SUPPLEMENTS, YO, SO ARE FULLY TAXABLE. THEY CHARGE THE SAME TAXES AS EVERYONE ELSE BUT BREAK IT DOWN FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL ENTITY! Sorry for caps, but lazy people who don't research things bug me. read more
