Dreiske Local Moving My Experience with Dreiske Local Moving. I moved from Schaumburg, Illinois to West Bend, Wisconsin. I scheduled the move with Dreiske weeks in advance of the Date of the move to be March 28, 2016. The agent and office help informed me of all the aspects of moving and answered all of my questions. On March 28 2016, the movers arrived on time precisely at 7:00 AM. The movers were Steve, Carlos Sr., Gavin and Bobby. The team worked very efficiently. I lived on the 12th floor. One guy moved the things from my apartment to the elevator. One guy put the things on the elevator and took it to the first floor and unloaded the elevator. One guy took the things from outside of the elevator on the first floor up into the truck with the help of the fourth guy who arranged things on the truck. The team took things to the dumpster at my request. Travel from Schaumburg to West Bend was timely. There was neither speed nor lag on the part of the team. I traveled separately on my own. The team and I did not follow each other. I left Schaumburg at the same time as the team but took a different route. The team arrived about 15 minutes after my arrival in West Bend. At the destination all items were delivered in good shape. There was a cabinet made of pressboard that was structurally weak. The team fortified it prior to move and it was delivered intact. The team placed and set up everything to places I directed. There were times when I changed my mind after things were positioned. The team repositioned them upon my request. I made a good recovery from almost hiring a deceptive mover without looking near my hometown. I was a bit confused by the word "Local" on Dreiske trucks. Right off I got a good feeling when I called and made an appointment to talk with them. I had never used a mover before as I had moved myself. Too old for that now so I new little about costs, and the process. Anyway the office and moving staff were right on top of things. I was stepped through to process and made the right choice with Mike at Dreiske. He came to my house to be sure his quote was fair for all, I had a moving contract. Cole, Joe and Steve showed up at my house ready to move me out of state. It was a snowing and roads were a mess so I gave them an option to cancel. Not these guys they were pumped and dug right in. The Weather got worse making their footing and driving treacherous, One of the guys slipped off the ramp but fortunately was fine, Youth! Took twice the time to get to my new place and longer to move in but they got it done. Nothing missing, bed set up and furniture placed, I am confused a little by some of the reviews, I would use them again and I recommend them to my friends and so on. This company came recommended by a good friend. When I called, Kathy was very clear about how their procedure worked. An appointment was set up and Dave came and did the estimate. We wanted to move as much of the little stuff as we could, to keep costs down, and that was perfectly OK with them. Our move came in quite a bit under The estimate because we did a good job moving the little stuff! The three guys that came and moved us ( Jack,Steve&Carlos Sr.) were very personable & very efficient. Nothing was broken or damaged in anyway. If they had a concern about something they always asked first! They even asked if they could take a five-minute break - our job took five hours. They are workers!! Whew! They moved us out of our home on a Thursday and moved us into our new home on a Sunday. Sunday!? I was so thankful as We did not have Monday off! This worked perfectly for our situation/move. All in all we were very happy with the company their services and especially the guys who came to move our very heavy furniture. We bought them lunch at the end which they did not count in the total moving time billed. And of course a nice tip! They were awesome -I would hire them again but I pray I don't need to! If I had read some of the reviews on this site about Dreiske Moving company, we most likely would not of hired this company. With that said, we had a very pleasant and professional experience. Roxanne called prior to our date to give us the time to expect the van and three men. Joe, Gavin and Cole and the proper size van were all at our house as promised. Cole reviewed the paper work and disclosures with us first, then all of went thru the house room by room to discuss which items went to storage and which to our new place. They worked constantly and methodically as they placed items in the van where they were stacked and protected in blankets. As far as I have seen nothing damaged and nothing stolen ( as mentioned in a previous review) They calculated 7 hours and even despite light rain, they continued the move on time. We also had two delivery sites and they managed well with that situation too. Our new location had a very tight staircase with large pieces and they maneuvered everything fine. We sold our townhouse in June and because of an unexpected issue with our new house we lost the movers we had booked. We needed to find new movers fast. At the point of tears because no one was available I got the number for Dreiske from another moving company. I called and spoke with Cathy. She was amazing! She was so nice and accommodating we scheduled our move with what was supposed to be 3-4 days of storage. When the guys came over to pack the truck they were awesome. They were organized and moved at a great pace. Another unexpected issue with the new house came up and 3-4 days of storage turned into 30 days worth of storage!! Again they were very accommodating and stored all of our stuff for 30 days. Cathy called me every couple of days just to stay in touch and to see if our closing situation had changed. When we finally closed they made a special delivery on Sunday so we wouldn't have to wait any longer for our items. I have never used a moving company before and we got a couple quotes from places and A-Dreiske Local Moving was the lowest price quote that we received for the items we had to move. They sent two guys for our move, Brad and Josh, both were GREAT at their job and were a pleasure to work with. They were quick and efficient but still very careful with my items. They offered to move items in each room to precisely where I wanted them and even helped put the bed frame back together (that we took mostly apart before they got there). I truly felt these two gentlemen went above and beyond. They also had AWESOME personalities (especially for a 7:30am move) and were easy to communicate with. After this experience, I would definitely recommend them and use them again if I needed movers. They really busted their butts and got the job done perfectly. I've used Dreiske Movers in McHenry, IL, three times now and have really been thrilled with the service. As a business owner myself I really appreaciate when they take their business as serious as I take mine. They just sent three big guys over and had a gigantic couch moved (and threw in a tall hutch for free) for $50. bucks. They came the same day I called just like last time. Last time two super strong guys came and moved my stuff that I thought would take hours to move in 1/2 an hour. And, can you believe this, they only charged for time they worked. These guys are the greatest, I just had to put a review on for them and I don't normally do this. Hooray for Customer Service, it is not dead yet!!! I have used A. Dreiske Local Moving twice over the past two years to move my mother from Wisconsin. Both times, the service has been excellent and the price has been more than reasonable. I have spoken with several members of the office staff, and they have been very thorough in confirming all of the details and logistics prior to the move. They are also very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The movers themselves have been awesome. I have used two different crews so far. The most recent three-man crew assigned to me on December 13th was very impressive. The move manager had an excellent handle on the logistics of a move, and they were organized, thorough, fast and courteous. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I had purchased a large vault from a store in McHenry, but needed someone to move it and install it for me. I spent time on the phone with Kathy and Roxanne who were both great, asking lots of questions and getting all of the information. They quoted me a price and told me that they could deliver it to my home the next week. They were able to pick up the piece from the store that afternoon and store it until they could bring it to me. The logistics involved in moving this huge, heavy piece down a narrow stairway to a low-ceiling basement were incredible. The four guys, Chip, Sam, Carl and Greg were so nice, so careful and so good. I expected to have some wall or ceiling damage because of the size and weight of the piece. Nothing. They took their time and were so careful and friendly. Today we moved several items from my mother's home to an Assisted Living Facility. We chose Dreiske Moving. When I called them, Kathy was very polite and knowledgable about their business. She quoted me the price right over the phone which made me decide to go with them. It was scheduled for today Thursday, March 12th 2015 at 9:00 am. The truck arrived with 2 men at 9:00 am sharp. They were very courteous. They prepped the hallway with moving rugs and were very fast and cautious in moving the furniture. They followed me to the Assisted Living Facility and again, they completed the job very fast and in an orderly manner. We would wholeheartedly recommend this moving company to anyone who needs to move their furniture to another house! We had to move short notice, and they accommodated us so greatly! They came early, got started right away, took furniture apart that was fragile, wrapped all the furniture up so carefully, and hand handled everything so perfectly. The quality of their was amazing! You can trust them with your China cabinet and dining room furniture! The value was very good as well! Arriving at the house, they carefully placed the furniture and boxed where they belonged, and put everything back to together perfectly. 12/19/14 A Dreiske delivered my new bed and chairs yesterday. Chip and Dave moved the items very carefully and were most respectful of my home. The bed company did not send the hardware needed to assemble the bed and Chip went to the hardware store twice in an attempt to put the bed together. When that did not work Chip and Cole came out first thing this morning for the bed assembly. Chip made a special attachment in his work shop that allowed for the bed to be put together beautifully. Everything looks so so great. I really appreciated the extra effort that Chip put into my delivery. He is a problem solver!!! I would highly recommend A Dreiske. Thank you for your excellent work!!! Recently selected Dreiske Moving for my interstate move from Illinois to Wisconsin. The crew of Daniel, Luis and led by Steve showed up when they said they would and were very organized, efficient and asked good questions! One wrinkle in my move was an intermediate stop in Milwaukee to drop off an old Wurlitzer organ at my daughter's place which was done without a problem. They then headed north and called to give me a heads up when they would be arriving which was much appreciated. They arrived at time they said they would and with Steve and Luis unloading took a little less time then to load. We had to arrange a move of our office on short notice. Dreiske arranged for the move within three days. They sent a crew of 5 workers on the designated day. My only complaint is that they arrived 20 minutes late. But once they began they all worked very hard. We requested a few items on the spot from them and the crew did all they could to grant our request. All my confidential files were moved safely and secure. The crew was polite and I did not hear any profanity or complaining. At the end of the job they made certain that all furniture and files were placed where we wanted them and willing re-arranged some furniture. I really cannot imagine what these negative reviewers are talking about. Our experience with them has been absolutely wonderful. The guys, Cole, Jake and Carl were polite, willing to help in any way and literally turned our nightmare experience with another mover into a great experience. These guys came in after another group (Deerfield Movers) who were arrogant, lied about us, refused to bring in the rest of the furniture and left it in the garage., left our driveway loaded with leaking oil, and papers strewn all over. These guys are A-1 fantastic! Couldn't ask for more. Their prices were the most reasonable of any I found in a comparison hunt. The office was very friendly and efficient in arranging the move. And the two guys they sent were amazingly good. They arrived exactly on time, worked without taking a break, and carried large loads. I think any other movers would've taken longer on my move (including 75 boxes, lots of books, etc) and since it's a per hour rate, that makes a difference. Plus they were highly capable of handling a city move with my narrow alley and 2nd-floor walkup. 5-star for sure. read more
