Everything was great from the service to the food to the experience. The ambiance was just perfect .

The food here was awesome. We had a cheesy dip and oyster po boy and coffee. The service was sub par. Our waitress went on break for maybe 15-20 minutes and our food arrived 30-40 minutes after ordering. However, it's super pretty inside. The wall painting is wonderful and you have a nice view outdoors from almost anywhere inside. The coffee was decent - it tasted fresh & could've been had black. The cheese dip was amazing ... I think it had some kind of seafood too but I can't remember now. The oyster po boy was super. I would get that again if we were ever back there. It's definitely on level with other Savannah stops for seafood. Also, parking is fine. The place isn't super noticeable from the road but has plenty of parking space. read more

Such a great find (thanks, Yelpers!). This place received four thumbs up from the four in our party. I had the Crab Stew then Fish and Slaw. The Crab Stew was darn good and I noticed it at a couple of other places we ate so it must be a regional thing. The Slaw was good and the Fish was pretty standard. Establishment was spotless and service first class. As an FYI, we got there before the Lunch Crowd, so take note as this place fills up as does the parking lot. read more

Omg what a great place! And and easy stop before visiting Wormsloe. We had the sweetest waitress. She was so friendly and helped us with the menu. She even let us bring our dog inside with us so that we could watch the football game. This place is dog friendly btw! I had a blood my mary and tried a ton of their beer on draft. All the drinks were fantastic. I had the TARTARE. A MUST HAVE APPH. It was wonderful and a very large portion! The tuna was fresh and the the flavors were delightful. Late dinner after long drive. Few friends recommended this place for pet friendliness and good food. Sat on rear "garden" patio which was pretty secluded and quiet. Server was very polite and dog attentive. Brought us a bowl...twice after our 65lb labradoodle flipped it. Had the crab dip app and loved it. Food order came a bit sluggish but signs on door warned of "short staff". We get it. Kids loved the patio area and decor. Would recommend and return if in area again. read more

Since I first moved to Savannah, Driftaway always caught my eye and something about it pulled me closer to it. After a couple months I made it in. As I was parking across the street from the restaurant (bc jt was pretty packed and no spots in the main lot) I was taken away by the smell of fresh seafood. Walking in I immediately noticed the fascinating artwork that is painted all over the interior of the building and it makes you want to keep following it all around. They have a pretty need bar area right at the front which seems like is a pretty good hang out spot for Georgia Saturday's in the Fall. The have plenty of seating in doors and outdoors. I always shoot for the out door porch in the back because it's peaceful, quiet, and overlooks a nice little waterfall. The food here is AMAZING, and I can't stress that enough. Everything I've ever gotten here has not let me down one bit and each item is just as good as the next. The first thing I ever got here was the Baja Fish Tacos. It included their, fish of the day with a black bean and corn salsa and was drizzled with a wonderful sauce that was a perfect mixture of sweet and creamy with a tinyyyy bit of spice to keep it interesting. We also got a crab dip for the table that is a MUST if you can handle that much food. The amount of crab dip they bring out almost feels like a meal of its own! The second time around I was curious on what new to try (because everything looks so dang good). And as I was making up my mind I saw this beautiful, thick golden brown plate of fried fish come swimming past me and I knew instantly that I had to get it. WOW. I was born in South Florida and was raised that frying fish is as a normal as eating breakfast and I mean it when I say it that this is the best fried fish I've ever got. They pile it so high here and it's so thick and moist and delicious you don't want to ever stop (bc you really can't finish it). We've came back about 5-6 times and I think I've gotten it every time but once since then! There's just something about them they tops the charts! This place is also located right next to Wormsloe Island so if you're going out to visit, please do yourself a favor and slide in to try out this place! Your tummies will thank you!! read more

Very delicious hole in the wall place that is mostly populateD by locals. Fresh food all the time with an extensive seafood menu. Located where they filmed the Outer Banks, fun fact! Had tuna tacos which is stunning and a local Savannah beer which the bartender recommended. A couple of friends and I were out and about when we decided to grab lunch. One of my friends who recently permanently moved to the area said he had not had a seafood since they had moved and would like to go to one that does. We decided to go to Driftaway and were seated quickly. Our server was about as friendly as holly bush is to your bare hands when trimming it. She had no personality and was slow to serve us through out the whole meal. That wasn't the worst thing as to me the food is key and why I eat out. I decided to order the grouper sandwich it was priced at $15 (which is expensive for lunch but on the border for real grouper). I asked our "friendly" server if it was really grouper and she said it was... Well, I received my sandwich to find a thin full fillet of fish on the bun and I grimaced. It was also supposed to be blackened but was "lightly seasoned" as well. Bottom line, it was not grouper and I am a fisherman and I have had grouper many times and grouper is a thick flakey sweet firm tasting fish, where this was mushy and soft (and likely cheap swaii a cheap imported farmed fish). Enough said. Food 1 I have a strong distaste for seafood restaurants claiming to have certain fish and subbing a cheaper ones. I did not enjoy my meal. We did have a calamari appetizer that we enjoyed with a nice avocado sauce. Atmosphere 4 We were sat overlooking a a stream where a fountain was set up. It was a very setting. The restaurant has a nautical theme and is comfortable. Server 2 As noted above no personality and slow to respond to the tables needs. Price 1 $15 for a seasoned swaii? sandwich? OA - 1 I understand restaurants wanting to make a profit, but it is unacceptable to substitute a cheap fish or anything when you are paying for a premium. I won't be back. read more

Loud restaurant , and really surely bartender who jokingly made comments about not making eye contact so she doesn't have to wait on people loud enough for the bar to hear and definitely not in a comedic way. I can't remember the last time I was in a place where I almost had to scream to talk across the table. The servers were having to do the same with tables of six or more. I get it's a local place and I'm originally from Savannah and the food was decent but came out lukewarm but it was just at best an average experience but combine with the noise in the rowdiness was not a relaxing Friday night dinner. I'll chalk this up to a one-off bad Friday and give it another chance but I was expecting more. read more

Service was alright at best, The wait for food was overly long. Meanwhile there wasn't much people in the restaurant. The fries were good, but the chicken was unseasoned, the sweet tea was good also. Overall this restaurant experience was a 3.2/5. Ambiance of the restaurant was great, very detailed, and i was seated by a nice fish tank, they art on the walls throughout the restaurant was very detailed, the menu is mostly seafood, just a heads up. OOF!! Let me start by saying that our server was great! She was pleasant and attentive. The 1-Star is for her. The balance of zero stars goes to the kitchen. The food was absolutely frozen and not fresh. To hide the inadequate food quality it was drowned in some grease and seasoning. I ordered the Wayne which looked like a school cafeteria exploded on my plate. Perfectly bland in appearance and nearly made me nauseous. My wife ordered the salmon. It sat a bed of orange goo and wimpy asparagus. This review is for the owners and management! Do not sacrifice food quality for the sake of improved margins. read more

Recommended by local folks. Very friendly staff. Got the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were good but not great. Sometimes that has to do with the tomatoes themselves. Worst place EVER!!! Terrible service. The waitress never showed up after we ordered. You know where she was, hanging out at the bar. We had our young grand kids with us who were very hungry. We waited 55 minutes and still no food! The waitress, worthless. I asked another server to get us the manager. The manger shows up, filthy shirt, and as I'm explaining to her about our horrible time here, she blames 1) Covid 2) "I can't control the men back in the kitchen. Men are being men!" 3) "The owners don't do anything about it." 4) "How do I manage the kitchen?'." Shocked at her snarky excuses and not owning up to her responsibly, I looked at her and said "Your the manager, manage! " I sent back by cold crab cakes, my grand daughters burrito was completely burned, the potato salad had no flavor and the potatoes weren't even cut up.
