I had the Driskell substitute coke for root beer, what a treat! Weird parking situation, but this outdoor drink truck got people in and out quickly. So it's worth being illegal for a second or to in the exit only section. Lol The gal that took my order suggested the substitution as I prefer coke. Really nice girl, sorry I didn't catch your name. I found this to be a little more on the pricey end. So a once it a while type of thing for me.

I had the Lady Bird with Sprite Zero and it was amazing. The staff are always so sweet, and I even got to meet the owner who made my drink!

Ohhhhhh myyyy Goddddddd…read more... ...ghetto. I mean, I've been in some shady situations (come on, I live on the Eastside!), but this was shaaaaaaadyyyyyy... SO my boyfriend has this thing for Old Milwaukee... not The Beast. No one has a thing for The Beast. This comes in a red can. Apparently NO ONE sells it in Austin. He spent forever calling around to EVERY liquor store in town. Finally his call was greeted by a soft Mexican accent saying "Yes, in the red can." Rejoice! We head over and find quite the hole in the wall - a rundown building with a faded yellow sign. They have a huge liquor selection and a limited beer selection (consisting mainly of 40s). The Old Milwaukee was buried behind the Steel Reserve - we dug it out and bought them out (one 6 pack and one 12 pack). There's a guy in the corner rap-singing to himself. A group of men are paying for top shelf brandy with CHANGE. Across the street we could see people walking in and out of an abandoned building pitch-black inside. Whaaaat were they doing and whyyyy didn't they turn the lights on? A Hispanic man and woman run the show. He has a gun, she has a golden grill. They are very sweet! They recognized we were out of our element and got us out of there QUICK. It was pretty funny. Aaaaaand of course my car thought it would be cute to not start when we went to leave. Its not a scary neighbourhood, just weird. I mean, a cute old lady was setting up chairs outside of an old abandoned building (why?). Its weird because EVERYONE is out and walking around... doing... nothing. Talking to each other in passing, meandering about, but doing nothing. Reminded me of Birds or some zombie movie. Five stars for being... unique.

This teeny tine liquor store feels like its about 12 feet wide and 20 feet deep, at best. Because its a small store the selection is fairly limited but the gentlemen was super friendly. There is very limited street parking for this store so that could be a challenge at times too. Despite the limited selection we still managed to fill a box with vodka, tequila, hard seltzers and fresh limes. We had to go elsewhere for some ice, mixers and sparkling wine.

I've been wanting to check this place out for sometime, so I read through the 50+ reviews and I'll…read moresummarize what some yelpers have already said. This place is owned by a husband and wife team, they do some demos on Thursdays, offer a rewards program and they have a great selection. They also have three locations, the largest being on N. Pleasant Valley Rd. I thought I would add some additional specifics and photos that add to the insight of this place. This place is in an old cinderblock building that is accessible from just one side of Airport Boulevard. From the outside, it looks like an old decaying convenience store complete with burglar bars and an ice machine outside. There's less than 10 spots to park at in their potholed small lot. Once inside, it's a whole new world. There are things here that you don't normally find anywhere else and they're not shy about spending big money on their inventory in the way of upscale wines and liquors. They make great use of the 1200 ft.² interior through great merchandising and selection. It's small, but it's packed to the ceiling with a very diverse offering. The wine selection is smaller than the liquor selection, but you will find wines from Serbia, Austria and Europe. They have Japanese whiskeys, soju, Dom Perignon, single malts, mixers and a handful of sherrys and ports. There's also a display case filled with bar instruments and accessories. Behind the checkout, you'll see one of the best selection of bitters that you'll ever see and they do offer single shot bottles. They have a good selection of cold wine, some seltzers, and even a decent yet small selection of local craft beer. Prices here are just slightly above the big box retailers, but they are not overpriced and everything is priced on top of the bottle. I did purchase two bottles of European wine and a bottle of Aperol. Unfortunately, when I opened one of the wines it was undergoing a secondary fermentation and some of the vintages weren't exactly current, so in future I'll stick with their liquor offerings. The photos and videos should be enough to get you through the door.

This is where you go to find more unique bottles, get gift ideas, get recommendations from the helpful staff when you're uncertain, and stock up on some of the usual staples. They were literally the ONLY store in the city carry a specific martini kit I was looking for, and were able to point me directly to it right away. They know their stuff, and their stock.

Located in the heart of downtown Austin a few blocks from the Colorado river, Urban Wine & Liquor…read morecan adequately satisfy all of your adult beverage needs. I recently got a hotel room when my girlfriend said she wanted to get a bottle of wine for our room. Well, I'm not sure how many people would prefer to pillage the mini-fridge or order several glasses of wine from the bar but I preferred a cheaper option. The area is extremely safe to traverse on foot so don't worry about that. Walking in the staff are extremely friendly and eager to assist. Now do they have the largest selection of alcoholic beverages or some prolific yet harder to find labels? No, but they have enough of the best-selling names to meet most demands. There refrigerator selection is very limited meaning don't expect a less popular white wine or champagne to be readily chilled. I know the store has other amenities however I didn't explore them so I can't speak on those. That said, I live in Kyle therefore, I'll won't be visiting on a regular basis. However, if I'm downtown and need an adult beverage store on the fly I can shop with full confidence they'll have what I need. I highly suggest visiting them if you live downtown or just passing through.

As stated in previous reviews, there is a slight difference in pricing (a bit more than Specs) but that's to be expected due to its location. Nonetheless, the store has a nice selection of spirits and wine, and the clerk/owner was super pleasant upon checkout. Overall solid experience - I do recommend.
