I really enjoyed this place, the perfect spot to bring your friends. Definitely check this place out!! Very hip, if you liked Tang and Biscuit, you'd like this place! You don't need to know how to play golf to attend, but having some knowledge is helpful. Golf clubs, men's and women's, are provided. You can ask for lefty clubs if needed. They do have a limited selection of golf gloves that you have to BUY. Not much merchandise to buy, just hats, shot glasses. It was $25 for a bay which is acceptable because it was so fun! You can play simulated regular golf or you can play a game, such as monsters. Playing on the 3rd floor was a lot of fun. The service for food and drinks was great. They frequented our bay for orders or to check in on us. We did have a mix up when splitting the checks so that could be improved. But the food was great, I recommend the margarita flatbread! I attended with a group of 7, and to be honest it was a little crowded at our bay. Once person had to be standing at all times because the seating area was a little small. They do have indoor games- shuffle board, packman etc like a mini arcade. This place is brand new and I recommend coming here 100%. Plenty of parking, it's just a little hard to get to because there's not a giant sign right off West Broad St. it's located BEHIND the Audi dealership. read more

My cousins and I decided to do something fun and that's how we ending up at Drive Shack. All except one of us were complete novices at golf, and honestly, that did not impair the experience at all. We decided to play the games as a result of our incompetence, and it was so so so much fun. I highly recommend playing BlackJack because then there's skill involved without having to feel like you need to play like an expert. Also, feel free to ask the staff for help because almost all of them have some background on golf! I especially needed help to learn how to swing. Food and drinks are a 9/10 because they are just a little bit overpriced, but I mean with the full experience its a must. I highly highly recommend the pretzels. Ugh, I would just go back for the pretzels. The mimosas are also pretty good! There's a military discount and an online code where you can get $10 off, so look out for some savings! I strapped on my Titleist glove, pulled up my lime green breathable pants, slid my dry fit polo on and afixed my tamoshanter to the top of my head and I was ready for Drive Shack. I walked in and at the front desk they were able to point me to the right direction of my group. I climbed the stairs and went to meet my group at our bay. It was my first time at a driving range like this and one of the employees gave a short but entertaining and engaging introduction explaining how the games worked and a few safety regulations. I was concerned about the chill in the air but was pleasantly surprised to see that there were adjustable space heaters within each bay We then put in drink orders and began to play. I was pleasantly surprised with the options there. From their mixed drinks to their beer there was something for everyone and for all occasions. Their menu looked equally delicious and again had a nice wide variety of options. The food and drinks came out quickly and our sever was back regularly to make sure we had what we needed. My only complaint is that the games offered were limited and repetitive and occasionally would freeze on the screen. Once they add more games and get that glitch worked out I expect this to be a great experience. Overall I am a big fan of Drive Shack. Although I live much closer to Top Golf I think it is worth the drive to enjoy Drive Shack's superior service as well as their food and drink offerings. read more

This is definitely my family and my new favorite place! We truly had such a fun and memorable time. It was very kid friendly so my 8 year old daughter was just as entertained as my friends and family. We were told there was a 30 min wait so we went up to the bar and were pleasantly surprised with all of our options (they have boozey cereal y'all, lol). The bartender was so sweet and she helped us immediately. We were starving so we decided to order an app. To our surprise our Bay was ready within maybe 15 minutes and the bartender took care of making sure our apps made it to our bay. It was great. We were met at our bay by a kind gentleman who gave us a quick and cute rundown on how it all worked and got a giggle out of my daughter (which isn't easy for strangers). Afterward he got junior clubs up to us immediately, no questions asked. The menu had a wide selection of food, and ended up ordering nachos, flatbreads, burgers, drinks etc and everything was fantastic (which I was NOT expecting), but even better; the prices were great, completely normal and not over priced (which I was also not expecting). Our server Jason was efficient, and super kind. He constantly made sure we had everything we needed, and when you get us all together we can be a needy bunch. The heaters were a wonderful touch, I was very worried my daughter and I would freeze the whole time bc we are wimps to the cold but we were comfortable and our jackets came off often. There's a nice large table but we were having such a good time I can't even remember sitting down. The manager, whose name was Jason as well, was beyond friendly and helpful. He engaged with my friends and family and made us feel right at home. Which I appreciated because I'm sure he was busy as there are four floors, I think. Had a super fun time during the Yelp Elite Holiday Party! When you walk in through the entrance, we were immediately greeted by two front desk attendants. One took us up the elevator to our area, he was super informative when telling us about the place and what to expect as first timers. We went ahead to our bay and played our game, first was 9-hole then we did the 18 on the course in Scotland. The screen was super easy to navigate and self-explanatory when it came to choosing type of game, course, adding players, etc. They had an ample amount of clubs to choose from between drivers, irons and wedges. We didn't use theirs since we brought our own. There is also space to place your golf bag as well in your bay! I was worried about being cold, but there are plenty of adjustable heat lamps at each bay. Each bay seems to sit about 6-7 people comfortably. All of the employees I spoke with are super helpful and VERY knowledgeable. We met the manager, Mark, who answered all of the questions I had about the technology of Drive Shack and the comparison to their competitor. There was also another employee that was a great conversationalist, unfortunately I didn't get his name... but he did have a Drake Christmas sweater on and a puffy vest, so if you see this you are awesome! Drive Shack is a great place to hang with friends, host company parties, have a date night and more. It can also be pretty inexpensive if you are in a group as they charge hourly by the bay. Had the pleasure of visiting Drive Shack for the Yelp Elite holiday party and it was a blast! The service I received was A-1 with every employee I encountered. They had a buffet style fajita dinner with all the fixings. It was all quite tasty. The welcome lavender margarita cocktail was so refreshing. I didn't play any golf but I really enjoyed watching everyone else. They have some arcade games too. I love the indoor outdoor heating as it was nice and toasty. The photobooth by KD Productions & Entertainment was so nice! They even brought Santa and the grinch so you could pick your poison lol. I took pictures with them both of course. The music selection was on point. Especially when I heard Tupac! This place has definitely been added to my list of places to recommend folks looking for a good time with food and drinks. read more

I never knew I even had an interest in gold but boy was this fun. After a long day at work coming to the drive shack to let my hair down and just swing for the fences was super refreshing. The bays are heated nicely so no need to worry about the weather. Drinks are smooth and the food is excellent here. I was not expecting to enjoy the food so much. This was my first time at a DriveShack location. My wife and another couple came on a Friday night and only had to wait for approx. 30 minutes for a third floor bay. We killed the time at the bar on the 2nd level. The server was very friendly and made some good recommendations on local beer. Once we made our way to the bay, we got settled in started playing. Overall, the golf is decent. I dont know if this is a consistent thing but there are only three "games". The monster hitting game, blackjack, and open driving range are the only games you can play in addition to playing a course. I'm not sure if there are restrictions in place that would prohibit a basic game similar to TopGolf's where you are trying to get a high score in 10 rounds but it's odd that there aren't simple, straightforward games available. Again, i dont know if TopGolf has patents on that game type or something but only having two real competitive games that isn't 9 or 18 holes is pretty boring. The food menu looked pretty good and overall we were pretty pleased minus a few issues. My wife ordered bonless wings that came out room temperature. You could tell that the wings had been sitting in the window of the kitchen for an extended period of time because the 45 degree weather just sucked the heat from the plate. By the time she got them, they were cold. I had the ahi tuna bowl. It was actually pretty good and I'm happy I got it. My only issue is that the rice was slightly mushy as if there was too much water in the rice cooker. I'd still get it again though. So fun!! My favorite is the blackjack gaming, but it was all fun. I loved the fact we were up higher so I could see everything better as well. The heated seating areas are amazing, especially given it was chilly the first time we went but I forgot to review. We only tried fountain drinks as far as beverages, but we did try the dirty fries and a pepperoni pizza. The fries were delicious, and the pizza was VERY thin crust, which I loved. I love the atmosphere even though I'm not any good I do wish we had learned about this place pre-covid as I wanted to play some of the arcade games. So far, I've been to Drive Shack twice. It's been a fun place to go and have a night out. There are different options for games to play at the bay, all of which are fun! The seating is very comfortable and the set-up of the bay gives me a cozy vibe. Each time we've gone, it was cold outside. I was very pleased to find that they have heaters installed above the bays - love it! They have a similar set up on the outdoors patio. I can't wait to go when it's warmer outside. There are also games inside to play and kill time if you have to wait your turn for a bay. Great idea Drive Shack! :) They have a full bar which is nice. Their menu has fun options. I've been here before and remember the food being much, much better. I wasn't expecting a four-star dining experience, but this wasn't even a one. Chips, salsa and 'fondue' (hot white cheese in a plastic cup) - chips were stale, asked for new chips, received more stale chips. Burgers - overcooked Fries - mediocre, not cold, but definitely not hot Service - friendly and prompt, until I asked for new chips Had to ask for napkins and cutlery. My experience was a bit undercut by management going around offering everyone an additional 30 minutes of time in exchange for leaving five star reviews for their service staff. Whole point of the review system is to ensure the public can make informed decisions, and the business can accept constructive criticism and make improvements. We Also got pretzels and it said they came with queso but we got horseradish with them. the golf clubs had dents in them. I went here for the first time with a friend and granted it wasn't easy being out in the Virginia humidity, we had fun! It was a unique take away on golfing. They have three floors in which you can play golf, but it's not really aimlessly hitting the ball. There's a computer system that tracks the balls and numerous games you can play. For example, black jack was my favorite one. The entire field was a bunch of cards and the computer tells you what the dealer had to beat him. Your objective was to hit the ball to cards on the field and try to beat the dealer, so it wasn't always about who hit the hardest or furthest. The place also has a bar to grab some drinks and a restaurant to order appetizers or meals to eat while you play. There's ample amounts of parking, the facility is super clean, and the staff are awesome. I'm not much of a golfing, but even people like me can have a blast here. Totally recommend everyone to give this place a try. Definitely a family friendly place to bring your kids too! read more

This place is really awesome. We've gone for my husbands birthday with a group of 25 adults and we've also brought our young sons on a few occasions. Every time we have had wonderful servers who take care of the individual bays. They are attentive to your golf needs as well as drinks and food. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The common areas a great (a couple patios and bars, as well as some arcade games if you have a wait or want to stay after your golf play). The bays are super cozy and provide plenty of heat in the winter. There are women and men's clubs and they provide lefty and little kid clubs if you need them. We really enjoy this as a local place to spend time and have fun as a family. The games you can play when you golf are fun but honestly, it's ok if you just want to go and whack the ball and not even play a "game"! read more

Shack jack was easiest,Monster Hunt and darts were too hard for them sadly. We got hungry so we ordered food and drinks.It came really fast,but the Mac and cheese was absolutely gross. If I were to rate this experience on my initial impression of the service I received upstairs in the restaurant, it would be much lower (like a one star). Luckily the golf saved it! We arrived around a busy time and put our names on the list to wait. We decided to have a drink and some food upstairs. The wait staff in the restaurant were awful. We sat for almost 15 mins waiting for our waitress to address our table while we watched her wait on tables seated after us and in close proximity. Finally a waitress not in our section took our order and handed to her. At no point did the waitress assigned to our table acknowledge our existence. After another 10 minutes we moved to the bar to try and get a drink. The service was pretty much the same deal. Finally - we asked for a drink and got one. At this point we almost left. I am glad we didn't. We golfed in a lower bay and the service was dramatically better. After we told the waitress about our experience upstairs, she sent a manger over who spoke to us, apologized, and gave us complimentary additional time. Our waitress (Rachel) was AWESOME! And the golf was a blast. My recommendation is to wait until you get to the golf for drinks and service. Overall, a fun experience. We hope to go back soon - just not to the restaurant. read more
