I've gotten better food off the roller grill at the local gas station, for 1/2 the price. Extremely underwhelming experience. The golf portion was terrible. A lot of short shots necessary in certain game modes and it repeatedly didn't register. The only reason one star is acceptable is due to the decent service. We will drive further to go to the competition next time. read more

Had the opportunity to give this place a try a couple of days ago. I will first say that if you go here near or on the weekend expect to wait for a parking spot. I rode around for about 10 minutes before a spot came open when visiting. They do offer vallet you would like to do that. The staff was extremely friendly even before I got inside. They where our standing on the sidewalk to welcome me in. I went probably at the peak of there busy time around 7 pm. I was told there was a 40 min wait for a bay. That's fine I expected there would be a wait no problem. What I didn't expect was for that wait to be close to 75 mins instead of 40. Again it was busy so I understood I just wish I was told a more realistic wait time. The bays are very nice and they have clubs for lefty(left handers unite!) and right handers. The game play is good there are multiple ways to play which I realized after playing the main way which is trying to aim at targets with the golf ball and get points. I also had the opportunity to try out a club sandwich from there restaurant. Very good quality sandwich and the price wasn't bad etheir. Mehh, showed up got in que, received the test text and went upstairs and waited for our turn. Got the "reply yes to confirm youre ready" text and responded the same minute it was received. Didnt get a response so waited. Texted "yes" again at 10 minutes from original text and no response. I went to the host desk and was told "Oh youre in 215". We go to 215 and sit and wait again as theres no staff there. Then another party tells us we are in their booth. I explained to staff what has transpired thus far and their offer was to take ground level or get back in que. We sat there for an hour and was only offered what we didnt ask for and an opportunity to get back in que. We left, this was our first and last visit there. I didnt ask for any freebies because thats not my goal, but an ounce of give a sh** from staff would have been nice. Ill stick with Top Golf. read more

I had put a one star rating and review on Yelp based on my frustration with trying to book an event/night out and Tara called me several times to apologize and to talk about what happened. Tara was very responsive and offered apologies for the negative experience and also offered to have bays available to us to come and golf that night. Unfortunately I had moved the party elsewhere at that point but Tara emailed me her contact info and said to reach out to her directly when I want to come again. I was very impressed with Tara's professionalism and persistence to turn a negative experience into a positive one. read more

Literally such a horrible experience. They have a sign up and text system in place. When we arrived at the counter, they estimated a 75-90 minute wait. Once over two hours had passed, we went back up to the front desk to see how much longer the wait would be. We stood at the front desk for over five minutes before even being acknowledged. Finally the manager with a horrible attitude explained that their computer system crashed and they lost everything they had. Never once was an announcement made for people waiting to come back up, never once did an employee that saw us waiting come over to tell us, and there was no end in sight for us to get a spot. The DJ was not great. I'm so glad top golf is opening in a week. read more

I like this location, easy to get too and has tons of space for parking and is a great option for a date night or a big party! I've been for both and both times have been great. It can add up quickly but prices seem to change based on time of day you go so if your looking to save a dollar you can plan ahead. They have a full bar, good menu selection and plenty of space. We did have to wait one time but it was only for about 10 minutes, just enough time for us to head to the bar and get a drink. My only suggestion would be to add buckets/pitchers of beer this seemed strange that we couldn't order this when we went with a group, but that is a silly thing! read more

We had a party of 5 at about 3:30pm on a Thursday and it wasn't extremely crowded. We bought our 6 year old daughter with us. The facility was child friendly as they provided children's golf clubs for her. The food was decent. No one in my party has ever played golf before and we all had a great time! I've been coming to drive shack a few times now since it moved to Richmond and every time I love how quickly you can start playing without jumping through hoops and hurdles. The staff is friendly, our server Adam was very attentive and always courteous and close by when needed. Overall a great place to meet friends or blow off some steam. read more

We have been to Drive Shack several times since it opened and enjoy it each time. My 11 year old son asks to come every day! His favorite food here is French fries with ranch dressing. They are delicious. We recently came and were assigned an incorrect bay and found a waitress - Kristen. She was quick to help us find a new bay and get us set up. Decided to throw myself a birthday party and reserved 2 bays through through the event manager for 2.5 hours. I showed up first on a busy Saturday night. After an awkward 3 minute wait staring at a receptionist 3' away, i was acknowledged. We don't have a reservation for you. Panic set in knowing i had 10 friends not far behind. I showed her the $554 charge to my credit card and she brusquely said it was through a third party app and they had no bays. I dealt directly with YOUR event manager! I left my quickly becoming irate husband to explain to my friends the situation. Five minutes later my husband says everything is fine, drama over and we all go to play. Now we are well into the 2.5 hour reservation. I had to wait another 10 minutes to play as they didn't have left handed clubs. An hour in, the games go blank saying our reservation is over. The waiter reset the games, saying he would tack extra time on, which never happened. A few of my guests said they had similar bad experiences for corporate events. I ended up having a great night, but i will never deal with this place again. read more

Not sure of the change, but an absolute 180 degree change from out last visit. What happened Drive Shack? Wait time quoted was not remotely close to what we were told when checking in. Once we were sat, food was ordered. This is where problem 2 came in. The order wasn't ours. After waiting an additional 22 minutes we got out food. In getting ready to leave, server had issues trying to split our check. The server also mentioned that he prefer cash tips. SERIOUSLY? Pretty awful experience. I would recommend trying Top Golf and see how it goes. Consistency seemed more inline with what you would expect for the price we paid. read more

I would love to give drive shack 5 stars because it was a fun experience, and delicious food! The waiter we had was friendly and did a great job! I would love to say that I would love to go back... but I can't nor will I ever go back.... why you ask... because this weekend when we spent almost $200 there and so did a lot of our friends were there... we all woke up today with double charges!!! So what a bad feeling when your account has almost $400 taken out! Very hard to get in touch with anyone at drive shack and when we finally did, guess what. It wasn't there fault it was chase's fault... well since it came from you it is your problem so own up to it! So unprofessional all the way around. I wasn't the only person who had this experience! Looking for a disappointment and waste of time? If so, come visit Drive Shack! Handling of COVID19 says it all, there is no management here. Not even sure why this place bothers to open.... prepare for ridiculous wait times for bays, subpar cold food, poor service and an overall lousy experience. Other places have figured out how to abide by the Gov's rules and still manage to provide service while Drive Shack struggles to figure out how to place two families 20 feet apart so rather than trying they simply cut down on the bays so much that it frustratingly leads to unnecessary waits. But don't worry, because waiting isn't worth the garbage experience awaiting you... just leave. Won't miss this place when they put themselves out of business and blame Covid. read more

Our son raved about this place so we decided to join him for a visit. Unfortunately, it was a mess from beginning to end. They were having software issues the entire night which limited the games we could play so we were left with two. We got booted off in the middle of games twice. A manager did come to add an extra 30 minutes which was great, but we spent so much time getting things reset that it didn't really matter in the end. For $49 for an hour, then another $50 on food for 3, it's a pretty pricey evening especially when about 1/3 of their programs are functioning.
