Noodles were chewy and delicious. It was the perfect size meal as I came with 4 and we each ordered our own bowl and shared a popcorn chicken appetizer. The chicken was tasty, crispy but too salty for us. Table service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is large, modern and airy so you don't feel like they crammed as many tables as they could before offending the fire dept. Overall, the dish was just lacking topping. -0.5 Pork chop fried rice with egg (combo meal $21) -- w/ pickled cucumber and milk tea. Fried rice this time was slightly bland compared to the nice pork chop on top. But we did notice that the pork is slightly thinner? Unless it was due to the change in bowl. The plate back then was definitely more appealing. -.5 pickled cucumber is one of the go-to side dish to get, esp on hot weather. The cucumber is well-seasoned and crunchy. milk tea was as expected. just milk tea. They definitely premade a batch and placed it in the fridge. The taiwanese beef noodle soups are top tier, and recommended by my Taiwanese friend who travels to TW often. The service is quite quick, and the restaurant has paid attention to details of decor. This is hubby and my favorite spot whenever we're craving their pork chop fried rice (must try). Every dish is spot on but we find ourselves always ordering the same 2 entrees, and the other being their beef noodles soup. This time I had it with the trio and boy is that tendon and tripe such a great addition with the tender beef. And that broth, omg don't get me started on that clean, clear, hot soupy goodness that just makes you feel all warm inside. I can drink the broth by itself and won't feel guilty about it cause it's so clean, flavorful, and herbally (fyi i opted for no spicy). Service is fast and staff are very friendly and makes you feel like home when they say things like "lai laah" ("here it comes"). When the bill came, they calculated the tip on top of the total and not on the subtotal. That is not the correct way. In my opinion, there's nothing special and nothing to brag about. Only that it's overpriced for what you get. I understand the inflation but not like this. And adding the tip on top of the total and not the subtotal is called greediness. The drink was quite sweet, but I guess that is to be expected of a wintermelon drink. The tofu and preserved egg was the highlight. I really enjoyed this dish! However, I was really disappointed by the chongqing noodle. It wasn't cheap, but I barely got any noodle, there was barely any ingredient (only half an egg and two bok choy leaves..not even a full bok choy, and some green onion ), and there was no flavor other than being spicy. Yes the picture of the noodles is before I ate it, but it looks quite lacking. Half shank half tendon beef noodle soup only has one piece of beef and three pieces tendons in it. The quality of beef counts control is not consistent, like one Classical beef noodle soup has 2 pieces of beef shank and another bowl has 5 pieces of beef shank on my previous order. 2.
