First time for me to come and bought food from this small Mom and Pop's type of restaurant. My friend said the food here are authentic and taste good so we tried it and bought a bunch of food to go! The place is small so expect longer waiting time during meal hours, it's clean, plenty of parking spaces. They close in between lunch and dinner time so make sure you'll be there during their open hours! Food were delicious, prices are moderate and I think the portion were okay!

Came here before the restaurant was not a big attraction, feels more like something from the 80s. However food was surprisingly good and authentic. We ordered to go today - a beef noodle soup and a braised pork rice. Portions are big and taste was the same good Taiwanese flavor. Noodle soup was still hot when we go the order home, which is 15 mins drive away. Beef was tender and soup was flavorful, just like what it's supposed to be in TW. Love the pork rice and then hard boiled marinated egg. Definitely recommend and will be our go to restaurant for a while.

Visited this restaurant for togo dinner. The portion was pretty big in reasonable price . We ordered beef noodle soup , fried tofu and shrimp fried rice noodle . And the price was $31.50 only! Love this place

As a Taiwanese American, I can't believe how authentic their food tastes!! They've got most of the Taiwanese street food items here: Taiwanese burger (割包), chicken roll (雞捲), oyster pancake (蚵仔煎), Taiwanese meatball (肉圓), and many many more! This will be my go to place for Taiwanese food from now on! The price is also very reasonable for this day and age. Highly recommended!

I was craving some taiwanese food and came across this restaurant on DoorDash. I ordered the pig ears/tendon/beancurd snack, ground pork and rice, pork's feet and rice, salt and pepper spareribs, and taiwanese spinach. Most of the food were delicious. But the batter on the salt and pepper spareribs was too thick for my taste and not enough meat. But it was still crispy when it arrived. The beancurd didn't taste like it was marinated like the pig ears and tendon were. Prices were normal too.

What I ordered. Note the C11.

The food was decent, but the Doordash order was wrong. After calling the restaurant to let them know, they insisted I ordered incorrectly. Attached is the receipt, the Doordash picture of the order, and then a snapshot of the actual soup. I just wanted resolution.

This style is like home cooking-not too salty or greasy and always good. We usually get take out and the service is excellent.

Always assumed the food may not be authentic due to the location. Glad to be proven wrong. Parking was easy behind the restaurant, dining room offers nice ambiance, tasteful décor, quite and spacious. We ordered the set lunch menu for 10 people. All of us agreed that the main dishes were delicious and served in generous portions. Reviews were however a little mixed on the appetizers. Service throughout the lunch was friendly, attentive and pleasant. Individually served were a bowl of hot and sour soup although steaming hot but too thick with corn starch and overly sweet without the right balance of flavor . Chicken salad was just ok, primarily lettuce with sliced chicken fingers. The vegetarian egg roll was fresh and crispy, best of the three. The main dishes were Honey walnut prawns, black pepper fish fillets, sweet sour pork, house Basil beef, braised tofu and Kung Pao chicken. Every dish was well cooked with distinct flavor and fresh ingredients. A large bowl of steamed rice was also perfectly cooked and generous served. Our favorite were the tofu and the basil beef. We couldn't finish all the food, several of us brought home leftovers. We were quite happy with the experience, enjoyed the excellent food service, value and ambiance. I will not wait too long to come back.

The service was okay, the server never brought a drink that we ordered, which we only realized at the end, but we were not charged for it. Other than that the server was friendly. I would say if its the only thing open, I would to again, however I would seek out other options first.

Ordering was made easy with the QR code being there for the electronic menu. I tried a unique sugarcane juice that had a lot of medicinal herbs which gave it a unique taste. I was really surprised that soup was part of the meal. Many places would skip soup to save money. The clay pot rice was the main event. It did come in a clay pot and was still sizzling as it came to my table. The chicken was so tender and the mushrooms were very juicy. The rice towards the end had become crispy. The portions were huge. The only unfortunate thing was the lack of a sauce. I'm very used to clay pot rice restaurants having a sauce that could seep towards the bottom with the crispy rice. I had to use soy sauce. The service was wonderful, and I'd definitely come back because there were other items I was eyeing. I didn't even have appetizers!

Anywho, I was surprised to see that by ordering the claypot rice a complementary bowl of soup came too. The soup was nice - some seaweed, egg ribbons and pork. The claypot rice itself without their seasoning sauce is a bit bland but that's why you season it to your liking. The eggplant was cooked well, with pieces of salted fish and chicken. The rice was fine, I liked the crispiness of the bottom. There wasn't anything too special about this claypot rice, I just think it's okay coming from someone who is cantonese. However, happy to see that there is a claypot place in San Jose.

We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. I had just been to a new-to-me one that had micro chicken bits coated in mega thick batter, and I was still smarting from that experience. But I overcame my fear of a repeat experience and ordered the Orange Chicken lunch special. What a difference! This place is really really good! You can see the included chicken salad is put together with care and multiple ingredients: shredded chicken, fried won ton skin, almonds, nice dressing. Impressed. My chicken came and big pieces! You bite into one and it's substantial white breast meat - wow, nice! I'm just too used to biting into battered chicken or pork and feeling like other places used junk bits hiding within the batter and sauce. But Taba Taba uses quality meat and a more sophisticated orange peel sauce. You can see/find the dried orange peel within the sauce which gives it a more complex flavor. I really liked it. The chow mein was good too - not oily at all. The service was friendly and great too. The woman who served us was friendly and really really attentive to all tables, looking around to see what was needed, making sure everyone was doing OK, whether water needed to be refilled, picking up the check as soon as the credit card was put down on the check. A real care factor above and beyond what you normally find. She chatted with my wife too for a bit on our way out - friendly and warm. I usually don't make a point of saying, "The food is really good here", but I felt compelled to. I know that Chinese food restaurants, the vast majority, do cater to American tastes, so the food isn't strictly "authentic" - just a reality of who the audience is. But even so, this was done at an elevated level that satisfies the American taste, while adding some richness/subtlety to the flavors that makes it better than your typical Chinese restaurant. I'd be very happy to come here again. I talked a lot about the food and service, but the decor was also nice - pretty typical, nothing outstanding in this regard, but the food and service are so much more important to me anyway, and those were definitely strong points of Taba Taba.

We felt lucky to find an empty spot in their parking lot, which was shared with Willow Street Pizza. The restaurant wasn't too busy. Typical Chinese restaurant ambience but with dimmed lights. It was more catered for non-Chinese customers, with forks on the table. No problem asking for chopsticks, as expected. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Lunch Combo A: Honey Walnut Prawns with Chow Mein. The hot & sour soup included with the lunch was delicious and not too spicy. It's perfect after adding some white pepper. The chicken salad was fresh, crunchy, and delightful. It's a much better and healthier alternative to spring rolls usually included in lunch specials at other Chinese restaurants. The chow mein was not oily nor salty at all, and had quite a bit of vegetables. It paired really well with the honey walnut prawns, which was prepared really well. There're 8 large, flavorful and juicy prawns, and a handful of candied walnuts. My husband enjoyed his orange chicken lunch combo as well. I tried a piece of his chicken, and it was scrumptious, with a light batter and yummy sauce. We ended our meal with the classic fortune cookies. I was surprised by how well executed and tasty the food was. Comparing to the lunch specials at Tsing Tao, which we tried recently, we both preferred the ones at Taba Taba. They do charge $1 per person for hot tea at Taba Taba, though.
