    Sea-bass, Risotto, and Mushroom Gravy
    Brittany H.

After multiple visits, I can say; the atmosphere is beautiful and elegant. The staff are very professional and attentive but unfortunately the food is just ok. I've tried it on different occasions thinking maybe the food was just off for that day...... nope it's been consistently just "OK." I ordered the sea bass, and it tasted like absolutely nothing. Bland and no flavor, after adding salt and pepper it was just ok. The risotto was mushy and crunchy at the same time. I can say the mushroom gravy was great and had lots of flavor but I didn't come to eat just gravy. We also had a side of Brussel Sprouts, and I was so disappointed.... I love a good Brussel sprout, especially when they are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Unfortunately these tasted like candy..... extremely sweet and I'm not sure why, they weren't edible unless you like sweet vegetables. I personally didn't not enjoy them at all. Dine here at your own risk, never know what you will get.

Short rib with kimchi mashed potatoes and bokchoy

I was surprised by how good the food and service was here. We had a small wait even with a reservation and when we came in it wasn't that busy. The waiter we had was great, his name was Oscar, very personable. We ordered the grilled oyster for appetizer, they were tasty. We had the clam chowder, this was also very tasty, it had pork rind crumbles. I ordered the short ribs with the kimchi mashed potatoes and bok choy. The portion size was large compared to what we have seen at steak houses. This was also very good. The food came out on the slower side but you may not mind if you're in good company. It took about 1.5 hours from sit to stand. Nice ambiance as well.

    Filet Mignon

I can't believe I haven't updated my review. Brought a friend here for dinner. There were three of us. My friend and I had the 6-oz Filet Mignon USDA. I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the name of our waiter. He was such a delight and made sure we had a great time. This was a meal I will remember for a long time. Thank you to the staff at Duke's Steakhouse. If you are looking for a luxurious and decadent dinner, this is the restaurant.

Love this place. We have been here for dinner and happy hour. Both are fantastic. I love that the menu rotates and it keeps it fresh and interesting. The prime rib burger is top notch! And we love the craft cocktails. The bees knees was a personal favorite. I love the honey addition and it's not too sweet. The service has always been fantastic here especially the bartenders. The ambiance is an elegant casual in the happy hour. And it's an upscale classic steakhouse vibe in the restaurant. The restaurant is small so a reservation is helpful.

The food and drinks were good per usual. The issue was the male bartender. Albeit there was a rush, apparently right when they opened and the hostess allowed multiple people to be seated all at once, the male bartender handled it very poorly and clearly does not work well under pressure. He was simply unprofessional, use profanity, and threw a fit when asked if the TV could be changed. We all get stressed and it's understandable, but at the beginning of a shift patrons shouldn't have to deal with such attitude.

Duke's Steakhouse is absolutely a first class experience and they do not miss a beat! We arrived timely with our reservations and were greeted and were sat immediately. As you approach the entry the bar has an amazing display of wine bottles and the dinning room is filled with warmth and pride by the staff. Watch for the beautiful display of desserts on the way. We started with the shellfish tower for two, which comes with oysters on half shell, lobster tail, jumbo prawns, crab meat, yellowfin tuna, ceviche (which was so perfectly prepared) the ceviche had all the flavors and you can also order as an appetizer which I highly recommend. There were three of us and the Shellfish Tower was the perfect amount to share. The Burrata salad was quite good and also tried the iceberg lettuce wedge (which they will chop for you). We ordered the 10 ounce filet mignon which was accompanied by mascarpone mashed potatoes, grilled broccolini and carrots. The filet was cooked to perfection with a the right amount of sear to seal in the flavors. Simply amazing we will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend Duke's for your next special occasion!

    Happy Hour Yay!

The food all had great flavor. I would get the Caesar dressing on the side though. I like light dressing. The tempura meatballs had impeccable flavor. The mushrooms were my favorite, nice consistency and flavor. The service is very good, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is very clean, and nice decor. We went during happy hour, great deals in the bar area.

Duke's has made it to the top of my list of Steakhouses in the area. Kevin was our server and he made it special, he explained items on the menu, as well as what makes them unique. The food was great! My go to at steakhouses is filet mignon, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The design and lighting were very complimentary. This was my first time there and will definitely be dining there again.

Time for an update. You know this is a 5 star review when my wife said she wanted to come back to a STEAKhouse! Quality/Quantity - House Bread - This was so good that we had to have two orders and we took our leftovers to-go. Baked Oysters - So good, I can recommend them! Even my wife enjoyed it. Seared Tuna Tower - We eat a lot of poke/sushi, so I never order this. But my wife continues to love it. And theirs was better than expected. We both enjoyed it. Braised Short Rib Mushrooms - 3 to an order. Another recommended item. Actually, this probably tied with the oysters as our favorite dish. Wild Mushroom Ravioli - Actually, this would have been my favorite dish if it came with more than 3 raviolis... It was really good but not really worth the $11. That came out to $3.67 a ravioli, lol. Complimentary chocolate truffles - Very smooth and not overpowering. And this is coming from a NON chocolate lover. I gave my share to my wife. And of course to wash everything down, a few Dogfish IPAs. Atmosphere - We actually wanted to go to The Oyster Bar, but we would not have made it to their Happy Hour. But Dukes welcomed us and we were still able to make their Happy/Social Hour; thank you. The bar/lounge area is not too large, so when coming to happy/social hour, make sure you get here early, especially on the busier days. Beautiful upscale atmosphere and decor, see pictures. Even the bathroom is beautiful/upscale. Too bad they only had one unisex stall. Table, booth, bar, bar countertop seating, private room, etc. Plenty of mall parking. Open 5 days a week from 4pm to 9pm or 10pm. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Service - Kevin, the captain, was amazing. Well, he always is. He was the first to greet and seat us, even though I know he works the dining room. He is an amazing ambassador for your brand, please take care of the people that take care of you. Price - $60 + generous tip. Actually, there was a mistake on the bill, but it was easily corrected. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success with all your locations and this one since September of 2022. I still want/need to visit your Carson City location!

    Mini Wellington. Awful. Horrible.
    Shannon G.

Mini Wellington There is a dress code. No hats at the table. Service was amazing. Waters always full. They do the table crumb scraping between courses. Staff was incredibly friendly. Ambiance was stunning. The overhead lighting was beautiful. 100% would return. There was only one low to the meal, the Wellington appetizer but the staff quickly comped it and our next round of drinks. I made bullet notes while we ate. - [ ] Puff pastry unseasoned had an overly burnt caramel flavor, while being undercooked. Meat was past well done. Seems like they cooked the meat before putting it in the phyllo which resulted in burned but raw pastry. Couldn't taste mushrooms at all however, and they weee mushy. When eaten on their own there was a bitter burned flavor, also under seasoned. Sauce bland. Definitely didn't put the mustard inside like you should. Overall awful. - [ ] Caesar salad was excellent. Very very yummy - [ ] Burrata salad was okay. Again under seasoned. I added some chimichurri which made it very good. - [ ] Ribeye steak was perfect medium rare. Ultra tender. Buttery flavor, topped with chimichurri. Super yummy carrots and broccolini on the side. Phenomenal. Total hit. - [ ] Au gratin potatoes were amazing. - [ ] Mascarpone Mashies were amazing. - [ ] Asparagus side was cooked perfect, but the bearnaise was cold and bland. - [ ] We got cheesecake to bring home, it was decent.

2/1/26 American Wagyu NY Strip with garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini/ baby carrots $90. Very good.

Highly recommend this steakhouse. For those of you who remember THE Harrahs Steakhouse downstairs, this is not it. But nothing is unfortunately. However, the food is good, what I expect from a steakhouse and the service is also excellent. We have been fortunate enough to have Sarai (SarrahE) as our server the last 3 times. She is absolutely fabulous. Very attentive, polite and a true professional. Lastly, I enjoy the darker look and feel of the restaurant. Not as dim as the Harrahs steakhouse but definitely not as bright as others in the area (Atlantis).

Came to Duke's to celebrate a birthday and was unfortunately quite disappointed. To start we came for the social hour but found out after we arrived that its no longer served in main dining room. Wasn't a huge deal but definitely unexpected as its not readily stated on the website when you click social hour. We ordered two drinks to start. Mine cane and had what looked to be a bug in it. They took it back but then told me it was actually "pear puree" but were remaking for me. Not sure ive seen small black bits in a pear before but they remade it and it tasted good the second time around. Our service continued to be subpar. We ordered the crab cakes for appetizers which came out fast but then we had to wait a while for the soup and salad. Once it came out they wrongly brought us 2 soups instead of one each, tried to fix it but still brought wrong dressing. I just ate it because at that point i was getting too hungry. Our meal then took a little longer, which we were given a heads up since the cordon blue is "made to order". The food was good when it finally came out. We had also ordered the short ribs. I will say there were also some other tables who ended up just paying for what came out and left early because they couldn't wait any longer. Food was good but the service did not match the price point Duke's is charging at. I'm hoping it was just an off night as other reviews are quite good, but overall disappointed to say the least at our experience.

We came here as a group of four with a 7:45 pm reservation from OpenTable. We checked in 10 minutes prior. We came back at our reservation time and were promptly seated. The drinks and appetizers were pretty good with no complaints from the group. My only small annoyance was that the they ran out of prime rib, which I love and was super looking forward to. Ugh. But the suggestion from the waitress of the rib eye was a good substitute. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a nice change of pace going to a steak house where the sides are included and not a la carte. For dessert, two people had a glass of port and we all had a bite of cherries jubilee which was made table side. All in all not a bad steakhouse. For four people, that ate whatever they wanted, the price was quite low at $400 and tip.

Quality/Quantity - We did the math?!?! Can you believe it has been 21 years since we have been…read morehere!! This is the very first steak house that we met our "first" Reno friends. He chose this place. And last month when we got together, he suggested we come back. It brought back so many memories!! Crazy as she also started sharing all our pictures from the past?!?! Again, so many memories. Okay, to the Steak House, I need to focus, lol. Today we got the following, all of which were cooked perfectly! Complimentary Bread with French and Apricot, Pistachio Butter - So good that all of us could not stop eating it. It is going to ruin our dinner... Palette Cleanser - Refreshing. All the wives got the Sea Bass and Salad, so I only took one picture. Are they spending too much time together...? Ate the exact same meal?!?! This is affecting my Yelp pictures, lol. The good news is that us "men" all ordered different entrees. Again, everything was all cooked perfectly. Prime Rib - 16oz, I really think I got a larger slice, thank you. Changed it up from my usual rib eye. Against my own will, I caved in for a second slice of huge thick sourdough bread so I was only able to finish half my dinner... If I did not do that, I think I could have finished my dinner. I also appreciated the two horse radish options. Oh, and a sweet potato option!!! Sold. Filet - 12 oz, my buddy impresses me that he can always finish his dinner and he ate 4 slices of bread?!?! He is not much bigger than me. My buddy also changed his options to sweet potato following my lead. Wagyu Short Rib - This buddy is a light eater like myself, but he finished his dinner. This is the second time I have seen him finish his whole dinner! I am impressed. But not sure if he had any of that delicious bread. Dessert: The ladies wanted "a" dessert to share, so they ordered a cherry crumb cheesecake (my favorite of the desserts). Then my filet buddy who is a Key Lime connoisseur gave in and ordered a "Key Lime Pie;" sorry, none of us felt this was a pie, but rather more like a key lime creme brulee?!?! It was still good, but far from his and our expectations. S'more Dessert - Lastly, the manager brought over this dessert. I don't think it was even on the menu. He asked which dessert we liked best and we all had different answers so he left laughing. Complimentary chocolates. I washed down my dinner with a glass of Shiraz. I also had a glass of wine already gambling while waiting for our friends in the casino. Table side flaming desserts available; see pictures. Ambiance - Small, but a beautiful location in the Western Village Resort, Casino. Almost hidden in a corner. Non pretentious. Restrooms - Need to go outside to the casino. The closest ones are upstairs, just follow the sign. Open 7 days a week from 4:30pm to 9pm or 10pm. Service - 6 stars. From the hostess, servers, waitress and manager. So professional, "white glove" service, respectful, etc. Thank you. Hot towels at the end of dinner; be careful, piping hot. Oh, we also never felt pressured to leave and we stayed 1 hour after closing... Thanks and sorry. We always have so much fun with this group of friends. Actually, we are having a happy hour together at Napa Bistro tomorrow with the larger group... Can't get enough of each other. Price - $416 + generous tip. Expensive, but worth it. I actually felt it was of very good value for the experience, service, and quality of food. I think we need to come back more often than every 20+ years, lol. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success for over 40 years. 1983 - Peppermill acquired.

From a Reno Regular: How a Great Concept Collapsed into Zero Service…read moreI hate having to write this review. We were regulars here from the very beginning, but after watching this place steadily degrade, our visit this past Friday was the final straw. What had the potential to be a standout local steakhouse has turned into an absolute joke. The Early Days vs. The Setup When they first opened, the experience had real heart and charm. The owner was there constantly with his young son running around, low-top tables and intimate candlelit settings filled the room, and a musician played live guitar in the corner. It felt like a warm, fun, family-driven environment. The service staff back then was exceptional. Brian was an absolute 12 out of 10--he didn't just recite the entire menu from memory, he could tell you exactly how every glaze was made, how each cut was cooked, prepared, and how it would be served. He made your mouth water before you even took a bite. Brandon (whom the owner's son affectionately called "B-Dog") was another fantastic server we loved seeing. He was a young guy working hard to make it work, showing immense passion, energy, and natural ability, and we were genuinely excited to watch him grow. Even then, the ordering concept was bizarre. You walked up to a counter to order, pay, and were prompted to tip before receiving any service whatsoever--which is frankly obnoxious for a steakhouse--and then handed a plastic number to take back to your table like you were at a Carl's Jr. Having to order drinks separately led to constant confusion, with people often leaving without settling drinks because nothing was tied to a traditional running tab. Still, we overlooked the setup because Brian, Brandon, the owner's presence, the atmosphere, and the food made it worthwhile. The Downward Slide Over time, management stripped away the intimate low-tops for rows of high-tops along the walls, completely killing the fine-dining ambiance and replacing it with the feel of a generic, loud bar. While they blamed a lot on COVID, the decline started before that and has only gotten worse: Everything on a QR Code: They allegedly have physical menus, but we never saw one. There are no menus handed out, no passionate staff walking you through the cuts, and zero personal interaction. Every single item--steaks, sides, and drinks--must now be ordered and paid for directly off a QR code on your phone, completely eliminating whatever hospitality was left. Nonexistent Service: On a prime Friday evening reservation, we were greeted by a teenager at the counter dressed sloppily. Instead of being seated, we were told, "Take any one of those tables," with a vague wave of a hand. Minutes later, someone dropped by only to say, "Scan that QR code to order," and walked right away. The Wine Fiasco: We ordered a bottle of wine, but were brought a single glass of wine instead. When we followed up and asked for three additional glasses so our table could share, the server came back, plunked an already-opened bottle on the table along with the glasses, and said, "I think I just opened this bottle for you, so it should be good." That is not how dining is supposed to go. Uncorking a mystery bottle in the back and bringing it out half-handled is outrageous for a steakhouse. Zero Hospitality: We had to hunt down staff just to get water and ask for our own to-go boxes. Not a single employee stopped by to check on the meal, refill a drink, or provide basic table touches. Pushing Guests Outdoors: They constantly try to seat people outside regardless of conditions--even right now, with active regional fires making the smoky outdoor air completely unhealthy to sit in. Drop in Food Quality: For the first time since coming here, the meal was legitimately bad. The food was sloppy, rushed, and thrown together without care, fitting the new bar-room aesthetic rather than a quality steakhouse. The Missing Heart of the Restaurant: The familiar faces that made this place great are entirely absent. The owner isn't around, and neither Brian nor Brandon have been seen on our last several visits, even on a peak weekend night. It feels like the passion completely walked out the door. The Parking Hassle: Parking has become a nightmare. The neighboring lot charges for parking, and unlike surrounding businesses, there is zero designated parking in the back for restaurant guests. Final Verdict We've brought friends here in the past and ended up embarrassed by the slipping standards. Paying fine dining steakhouse prices to seat yourself, order everything off your phone via a QR code without ever seeing an actual menu, get served mystery open bottles of wine, fetch your own amenities, eat rushed food at a high-top, and receive zero service is unacceptable. We won't be back, we won't tip upfront for service that never happens, and we'll be taking our steakhouse business elsewhere in Reno.

We always enjoy sitting in the deck, even if it is a balmy 99. Always in our list: lobster deviled eggs ( not as good as his moms, per Ethan) but delish! Disappointing Meal Despite a Nice Setting…read more We came to Waterbar today to meet a friend for lunch. We immediately ordered iced teas and the Lobster Deviled Eggs to start. The appetizer and drinks came out promptly. However, the iced tea seemed like it came straight from a soda fountain rather than being freshly brewed--in a higher-end restaurant like this, I definitely expect fresh-brewed tea. As for the deviled eggs, they tasted good, but the "lobster" on top was so miniscule that it could have just as easily been tiny pieces of shrimp. It was nearly impossible to tell if it was actually lobster meat. For our entrees, I ordered the Korean Short Rib Tacos, and my dining partner ordered the fish tacos: - Korean Short Rib Tacos: Decent overall. The sauce had a nice, flavorful kick to it. - Fish Tacos: A BIG miss. The fish was clearly not cooked fresh for our meal--it tasted and felt as though leftover fish from yesterday had simply been reheated in a microwave. The consistency and flavor were completely off, to the point where my partner took only one bite and couldn't eat any more. This was a major disappointment. We really wanted to like this place because the setting and space are truly spectacular, but given the quality of the food and drinks, I'm not sure if we'll return.

Hello, I'm reaching…read moreout regarding an extremely disappointing experience my wife and I had at Texas Roadhouse tonight. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed and we waited about an hour for a table. I want to be very clear: the hour wait is not my complaint. We could see that the restaurant was busy, we chose to wait, and we completely understood. Unfortunately, once we were seated, the experience continued to go downhill. We waited quite a while just to get our drinks, and when it was time to order, I ordered the 23 oz. porterhouse medium. When our meals finally arrived, my steak wasn't slightly overcooked--it was burned and well past well-done. I got our waitress's attention, and she took it back to have it corrected. I then waited approximately 30 more minutes for another steak. During that time, my wife's meal sat in front of her getting cold because she was trying to wait so we could actually have dinner together. When my replacement steak finally arrived, it was rare. At that point, I had received the same steak ordered medium twice--first severely overcooked and then severely undercooked. What was particularly frustrating was the manager's response. I was told that they "don't cut this cut in-house." I honestly don't understand what that had to do with the problem. I wasn't complaining about how the steak was cut. I was complaining because a steakhouse had been unable to cook a steak to medium after two attempts. After everything that had already happened, I asked about receiving a discount. We then waited approximately another 30 minutes for someone to come back and address that. Our check was around $90, and ultimately only $20 was taken off. I understand restaurants get busy. I understand kitchens get backed up. I also understand that mistakes happen. Had my steak come out incorrectly once and been promptly corrected, I probably wouldn't be writing this. But this was mistake after mistake, followed by waiting after waiting. By the end of the evening, my wife had a cold dinner, I never received the properly cooked porterhouse I ordered, and we still paid approximately $70. For a restaurant whose specialty is steak, I expected much better--not necessarily perfection, but certainly better handling of the situation when things went wrong. I'm asking Texas Roadhouse to review what happened and determine whether the way this was handled meets the level of service you expect your guests to receive. Thank you for taking the time to read about our experience. I would appreciate hearing from someone regarding this.

Alec Crosby was recommended to me by my favorite butcher, George, when I reached out interested in…read morebuying a share of beef in February. Alec raises his cattle in Fernley so super local, the cows are happy cows not trucked to feedlots at the end of their life cycle. They have good lives, these are the things that I appreciate as a meat eater. And yes I do know all beef is finished on grain, but there's a difference in mixing grass and grain in fields etc. I ordered through his website, super easy. I got a 1/4 of beef, after trimming and cutting, I ended up with around 110 lbs of beef. The percentages of certain types of meat described on his website, ended up being spot on for me. Yes, I wrote down every package, weighed them and created a spreadsheet haha. The packages came wrapped in saran wrap then butcher paper with a stamp of the type of cut. I like knowing what the weight is so a print out sticker with that would be preferred personally in the future, but I just wrote the weight on each package. I kept in touch with Alec and he was very adamant about quality and my happiness He said if it wasn't anything less than amazing, he'd get me a new one. I have the messages for proof, but to be honest, even if I wasn't 100% happy, I could never do that to a small business over possibly small qualms. He cheered me on when I sent him some pics of my first meals with the meat I got from him. He is a young guy, expanding his long run, multi generational family business. On Facebook he showed that he was opening up a store front and I couldn't be more excited for him and for Reno. This is a dream basically, to have local sources of meat, in affordable prices. And I appreciate his ability to take a chance and try to bring back some of the good things from older genertions like neighborhood butcher shops. I suggest giving him a try when you need a butcher or want a beef share for the family if you have the room. It ends up being incredibly worth it cost wise in the long run even though it can be intimidating for an upfront cost. In the end, we have been going through our beef pretty slow, I still have around 50% of it left, and haven't bought beef at a store since February. I've eaten some new meals, cooked cuts in new ways and learned to like hamburger again (because this stuff is tasty and not close to store bought). I haven't had any bad cuts, and I feel so good eating this beef, supporting local business and new generations.

Keighley, who was handling the delivery contacted me the same day to secure the delivery day and time which was 01/01/24 at 4:00. She reverified the day before delivery to confirm all was still good and delivered on time. I was so impressed with how professional, friendly and dialed in the entire team was. Great communication!!! I can't say enough good things about this company and I will continue to use them and let others know about how great they are. Going to try the Korean Ribs tonight.

That was fine so as soon as we turned around to sit in the lobby, the guy called us and said he happened to find a table for two. So we were sat immediately. This is the busiest I've ever seen this restaurant. Pretty much every table, and they have lots of tables, was full. Braden was our server and he was at our table within five minutes. Considering how busy the place was, that was awesome. He took our drink orders asked if we actually knew what we wanted to eat, which we didn't, and so he went to get our drinks while we looked at the menu. What we ordered: 25 ounce Cadillac margarita Frolic in the sand Shots of tequila (Herradura) 20 ounce prime rib, medium rare Lobster tail Jacketed baked potato Sautéed mushrooms The food arrived quickly. The prime rib was perfect. Lobster, mushrooms. Everything was just so darn good. The star of the show was the server Braden. He was friendly and a little entertaining. Even though the place was super busy, he took the time to talk with us and make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our evening. I will definitely ask for him next time we come in here as he was that good. When the food and drinks are consistent, sometimes the only difference of a good visit versus an average visit is the server. He was perfect. Still some of the best prices in town for a steak/prime rib. Comfortable. Nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back again and again. I know things can go wrong occasionally, but this seemed to be a string of events. Once we ordered, it took a while to get food. I'm not complaining about this, we were a large party. When we did get our food, all of it was either wrong, cold, or undercooked. There were no wait staff around to tell, apparently they were short-staffed that night. I walked up and got the manager, who came back to the table to hear us out. They ended up comping all of the food and by the time we had gotten this far, it was already later in the evening and we just decided to salvage what we could. Some of the food was edible, so we did what we could. We kept waiting for someone to come around to clear dishes comma but we never saw anyone. There was an empty table between us and the next table over. There was an empty table between us and the next table over, and they had started stacking they're empty dishes on that empty table. We decided, we might as well do the same thing otherwise the dishes would stay put. By the end of the meal, the entire table was full of dishes. We ended up going somewhere else later that evening to actually get some food we could eat. I'm really sad that this meal went so poorly when we were trying to celebrate a birthday. We will never be going to this restaurant again. Additional after the fact, the sign outside that advertises the business has been broken for months. One would think that if you were a serious business that you would want to fix that. It reflects on your image. It makes me sad too, because they are right across the street from the Peppermill and they could be getting so much business.

The chopped pork and brisket were okay, but we thought a lot of the flavor was carried from the BBQ sauce instead of the meat. The decor inside has that BBQ joint feel with some nice pig paraphernalia and Nevafa stuff. Shayla our server was very nice and courteous and made us feel right at home. My only critique involves another server who seemed very chatty with a couple who sat next to our table. She was talking with them a lot. She also made a comment after she noticed me taking photos of the inside saying "you can easily spot out the first timers." I think that's something a server should keep to themselves instead of mentioning it out loud. But that's me. I would've given this review 3.5 stars if I could just for that. But I'm giving it 4 because everything else was excellent. Would definitely come back again.

Yes, the brisket was actually INEDIBLE! It was dry, tough, rubbery, tasteless. The only way I could even power a couple of bites down was soaking it in the BBQ sauce. At least the chicken I had with it was moist and had SOME flavor. I had the grits and cheddar as one side and it's like they put them in a food processor. Grits should be gritty, not smooth like paste ( I promise I don't eat paste). The Costco applesauce was the best thing I had. We literally had to go out to lunch again. Our service was blah but at we were only charged for one meal. Not sure who finds this place acceptable, but I shall never return. Dammit! JimG
