Come here! And I cannot emphasize this enough. COME HERE! One of my best friends and I came here this morning for dim sum and we are having the best time! The vegetarian options on their menu are astounding. Impossible dumpling! Vegetarian soup, dumplings! Also, apparently they make noodles in the house! Next time. The atmosphere is amazing. None of those Formica tables and plastic chairs. It's beautiful and welcoming. The service is prompt and friendly. And we will absolutely be back here.

Cute, vibrant dumpling spot with a fun atmosphere, and their XLB is a must-order. We also tried the pan-fried dumplings, which were just as delicious. You know a dumpling place is legit when you can watch them making everything fresh through the window. The chili oil pork dumplings were good, but probably something I'd skip next time in favor of trying more of their other offerings. I can't wait to come back and explore their kitchen menu because everything coming out looked amazing. For the quality, portions, and overall experience, I think it's definitely worth the price.

The group agreed, everything was delicious and fresh. We would absolutely return! The restaurant was clean. Staff were helpful. Service was quick. We ordered a variety of items...dumplings, noodles, a couple of other entrees. All were yummy

We visited Dumpling King on 2/17 to celebrate the Lunar New Year and were honestly just grateful they were open. The place was absolutely slammed. The energy felt festive, but be warned: it was very cold inside despite the packed dining room. A few staff members were even wearing parkas, so definitely bring a jacket if you're dining in during the winter. I went with three friends who took the lead on ordering. They give you a laminated menu, and you use a dry-erase pen to make your selections. Overall, the food was fine. We shared BBQ pork bao and several varieties of dumplings, which hit the spot for a celebratory meal. The cucumber salad turned out unexpectedly sweet, but we repurposed the sauce as a dip for our dumplings, which actually worked surprisingly well. The standout for me was the *Wor Wonton Soup*: comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a chilly night. The biggest downside was the pacing. There were long gaps between dishes, and our final three dumpling plates arrived at the same time as the check. With so many "dumpling"-named spots across San Francisco (thanks to that viral article making the rounds), expectations are high. And while this Clement Street location is convenient and lively, I wouldn't call it the best dumpling destination in the city. Still, for a festive night out during Lunar New Year, it got the job done.

My friend and I stopped by for an early dinner because she heard about this place. We had both never been here. It wasn't too busy. Garlic string beans (2/5): These weren't my favorite. Usually I love a stir-fried garlic string bean but these weren't blistered enough for my liking. Could've been cooked longer. Juicy pan fried bao (3/5): This was 6 pieces of pan-fried buns filled with kurobuta pork. The dough seemed very thick. The meat was flavorful though. Chive & pork dumplings (4/5): A standard boiled dumpling. I enjoyed it. ChongQing Style Noodles (1/5): I don't think I've ever had these noodles before. I wasn't expecting it to be served in such a thick gravy? There was so much of it, a bit overwhelming. I thought it would be a bit more of a noodle with a light sauce or broth. Flavor was okay. Wasn't much spice. Everything felt mushy. Overall, not my favorite. I've been to other dumpling restaurants that I enjoyed more. Service was fine.

Decent Chinese food with no frills. Service is always friendly and quick and there's typically a seat available even during the busy weekends. Menu is extensive and you just mark the items you want and hand the menu back to the wait staff. My favorite item of the night was the zhajiang mian. The noodles tasted as if they were freshly pulled and the noodles had the perfect bite. The sauce was flavorful and perfectly balanced with the freshness of the cucumbers. I personally felt the custard bun and sesame swirl bao tasted like frozen baos. The flavors were kind of bland. My fiancee and his mom really liked the hot and sour soup. My true rating for this restaurant is 3.6/5

What an amazing experience in New Chinatown on Clement! Unique dim sum and bao--a must see and try. You mark your selections with an erasable marker on the extensive menu--fun! We ordered: - Crab roe and pork dumplings - Goldfish dumplings of shrimp and chives - Chicken, kale, and corn dumplings - Juicy pan-fried Korobuta pork bao - Sesame balls - Roasted rice tea All for $60 with tax before tip. Very reasonable. We visited on Super Bowl Sunday and the restaurant was playing the Olympics on their big screen TV, which didn't distract from the lovely "moving" waterfall murals and beautiful decor. The service was appropriately attentive, warm, welcoming, and friendly. We were served promptly.

We visited Dumpling King for some dinner and the service here was fast once we walked in we receded. The ambience in here is very spacious with lots of seating. We ordered five dishes and left with some leftovers my favorite dish from this place was the salt and pepper fish fillets and my least favorite was the cucumber salad. Overall, I would visit them again.

We went here for a quick date after my husband and I visited his grandma. I was craving for dumplings and the other place I wanted to go to is closed. We came across this place and we had great food! We were seated right away as it was not busy. We ordered potstickers, bbq baos, sesame balls, custard baos, pork and shrimp dumplings, Shanghai(?) soup dumplings and ordered garlic noodles and sesame chicken to go. Everything was tasty and warm and cozy! I loooved their custard baos! It was my first time trying it and it was like eating a cloud! Plus, they have the cuuutest panda design! It was definitely heavenly! I also loved the sesame balls. Very light and crunchy that we ended up ordering one more order to go. The place has a good vibe. There is a monitor with water falls streaming down that calms the eyes. They also serve hot tea on the house! No need to order for additional charge! Will definitely come back!

Stopped by with my bestie while we were walking around the area looking for something to eat. We decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Shanghai soup dumplings, Garlic Pea Sprouts, Braised Eggplant (no spicy), and Cumin Lamb (no spicy). The Braised Eggplant was our favorite. It came with wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, yellow and red onions, and green onions. The flavor was really good, sweet, slightly sour, and savory all at the same time. The Cumin Lamb was very tender with a light cumin flavor that didn't overpower the lamb. The Garlic Pea Sprouts were fresh and had a nice wok hei. The Shanghai soup dumplings were our least favorite. Even though they were labeled as soup dumplings, there were only a few drops of soup inside, and the pork filling didn't taste very fresh, so I wouldn't recommend that dish. Customer service was great. One small issue was that our plates kept spinning on the table while we were eating, which was a bit annoying. Overall, we had a good experience and I'd come back to try other dishes.

Came here today to have lunch with my kids since we have to wait for our car to be done with Toyota. The foods wasn't bad at all but when I asked for a small box to go and the check I didn't expect there was going to be a surprise in the box. I shaked the container and I noticed a little black thing fell out onto my pants. I looked down just to see there was a small roach so I grabbed a napkin to kill it and called the waitress so she can see it. All she said was sorry and walked away. It's a young roach so there's gotta be more in the back. Really disappointed to see that. Will definitely reported it to the health department.

The line didn't look too bad at first until I learned that there are only 11 seats exactly inside and only 2 people running the whole show. Having eaten nothing yet, this two and a half hour line did a number on us. We were so hungry that I left the line to quickly pick up some takoyaki to snack on while we waited. Once you finally get to the front, you order at the kiosk and everything is entirely self-serviced from getting seated to picking up your order. When we finally got our food, we were disappointed by how broken our soba was and how many clumps we found as well. The soba itself was also mediocre and not worth the hype. I got the scallop kakiage and while it was good some pieces were undercooked like my eggplant and that was really hard to eat. The food wasn't terrible, but not great and definitely not worth the wait and hassle. A pass for me :(

Panang (their spelling) Curry, classic Pad Thai and sticky rice seemed to be great options. The curry was ordered with beef. The dish came served in a small half full bowl with watered down curry sauce, a few random vegetables, and the cheapest beef one could possibly find. The Pad Thai, consisting of a plate with a wad of very thin rice noodles which are more likely found in a spring roll, not the flat rice noodle one would find in the famous dish in Thailand. A minuscule amount of chicken, peanuts and fried tofu accompanied the matted noodles. Neither dish had much flavor, yet and probably more the intended goal, would appeal to pretty much any Farang walking off the street. Our friends make fun of us for making the trek out to the East Side, Danville, Black Hawk, etc for the best Thai in the entire Bay Area but that will have to continue until we discover a closer option.

My only real complaint was the seating arrangement. My wife and I were seated at a shared counter-style table that was divided by a glass partition. While the partition provided some separation, I could still clearly see the people sitting directly across from us, along with all the eating noises and conversations. I personally prefer a little more privacy while dining, so that took away from the experience. I won't comment on the wait time because that's pretty normal for popular restaurants in San Francisco. The highlight of the meal was definitely the A5 Wagyu Ramen. It was absolutely delicious and worth ordering. The flavors were amazing, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. I've been to plenty of Japanese/Ramen spots and I've been running into the issue where I say I have a soy allegry and there is an assumption that I have a gluten issue (I do not have a gluten issue). I noticed yelp said they have soy-free options and thus called on Friday thinking it might be a bad idea as they're usually busy.. It was defintely hard for the person to hear a bit when they picked up. The staff did relay something about gluten free noodles.. Anyways, they said they could swap out any of the soy soups for salt (but soy can encompass a lot of things so I still wasn't feeling super confident but we're going to give it a go). We go and I asked which 4 of the soups I was eyeballing don't have soy - the staff said they can accomodate and replace any of the soy soups with a salt broth. After we ordered, the staff came back and checked in to make sure that my partner also didn't have an allergy. Sadly I had to settle for Hot and Sour Soup, Wonton soup, Pork Xiao Long Bao 8 Pcs, Chicken Xiao Long Bao 8 Pcs, (8Pcs) Pork Dumpling with Sesame Sauce and Red Chili Oil (6Pcs), Numb & spicy pork Bao, Green Onion Pancake, (Sweet) Red Bean Paste Pockets. We had it family style. The 3 of us shared it all. There was plenty to go around. None of us left hungry. I can't even pick a favorite. Maybe the numb and spicy which wasn't that spicy. It was just so good and flavorful. The soup dumplings were amazing. So much perfect flavor. They held together until the bite. So good. The hot and sour soup was plenty tasty. Not the best I've ever had but certainly among the best. The only thing I will say is that one of my companions can't have seaweed. The wonton soup was amazing but full of seaweed. It wasn't listed on the menu and we have never had seaweed in any other wonton soup so didn't know to ask if it could be left out. That was sad. All she could do was have a tiny spoon of the broth to taste it. The green onion pancake was very good. The red bean paste pockets use the same dough but filled with sweet red bean paste. They were a perfect way to end the meal. Next time I'm in the city I will visit again. Loved it all. It was worth taking the time to visit and eat there.

If you're not able to squeeze into the first wave, the wait is upwards of 2 hours! FOOD: We ordered one galbi jim with extra noodles and rice cakes and a separate garlic noodles for a party of 5. While we initially thought we could finish two galbi jims, our server cautioned us against it, referencing the healthy portion size. We were glad we took her advice because everyone was stuffed by the end of our meal. Their galbi jim was flavorful, with extremely tender beef and chewy rice cakes. We ordered the lowest level of spiciness and while there was still a kick, it was extremely manageable. SERVICE: We were the first to be seated and our galbi jim took almost 20 minutes to come out while others waited even longer. However, they comped our garlic noodles and apologized for turning waits. Overall, I'd definitely return if I'm able to get into the first wave of seating.

Typically what I saw was they do waves of seating and ordering so if you aren't there right at open/when they fill up, plan to write your name down and grab a drink nearby. Once we got seated, they were pretty prompt to give us utensils, napkins, cups, and water. The two of us shared the Braise Beef Galbi Stew. It's more than enough for 2 people to go home in food comas (with some food remaining) and for 3 to be sufficiently full. If you have big eaters, order an app alongside if you have 3 people. The Galbi stew was exceptional. I liked that they had various levels of spiciness. We went with spicy and it had a nice kick that elevated the dish for me. The beef was very tender and flavorful and the veggies and rice cakes soaked up all the juices. And the cheese was so stretchy! I'd actually rank this place slightly above Daeho given the shorter wait, the quality, and the price. I'll be back for sure.
