Dumplings for everyone. They have lunch specials too, but we liked their Dumplings and potstickers and every dish we had was good. We liked the garlic green beans. They weren't very greasy and the beans were fresh. The crunchy potstickers were a hit. My friends were confused about the lemon iced tea bear. I kept pushing the ice under so the bear would melt. I think it's a marketing thing for kids and girls. Hot and sour soup was meh. We wouldn't get this again. Also the noodles were spicy for the noodle soup and the pork inside was fatty, so we would skip this too. Stick with the dumplings and you'll do fine. I was so excited to eat dumplings but some of the dishes were lacking :( we got the zhajiang noodles, xlb, pan fried soup buns and salt and pepper squid. The noodles were our favorite dish and so flavorful! The noodle texture was nice and Al dente. The xlb was alright, skins a bit thick. The pan friend buns were full of soup but the bottom could've been crispier. Tasted a bit stale. The salt and pepper squid was the most disappointing bc it was basically flavorless. I love salt and pepper seasoning but it seemed like the completely forgot the seasoning bc I could not taste it at all. We had to dip the squid in the noodle sauce for flavor lol. Stumbled upon this new spot and decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did! The interior is newly renovated and has a friendly vibe. We were seated right away and ordered the soup dumplings, zhajiang mian, and string beans. Everything was pretty good but the zhajiang mian was definitely the highlight! Menu is a bit confusing. It's a big menu as expected from the Clement street. However things that should be appetizer are in their own meat sections etc. regardless the food is better than an average Chinese restaurant. Soup dumplings are great. I got cumin lamb and didn't disappoint. Service is not anything special, it's ok. The place did a nice job with decorating- a waterfall projected on a large wall with pretty flowers on the other side. Quality/Quantity - Another great discovery! My guest over ordered as usual, lol. We got the following: T1. Juicy Pan Fried Kurobuta Pork Baos - Good, but we have had better. Bread to meat ratio was slightly off for me, too much bread. Fresh, hot off the pan with the usual warning that it is piping hot inside and has soup inside. Decent size. 06. Four Dumpling Special - "Regular" dim sum. But got a chance to see and try one of each. My least favorite, not bad, just that the other 3 dishes were better. P1. My second favorite of the meal. L11. Chicken Chow Fun - Generous and a good size tender chicken breast. This was the hit of the meal! Decent portions, but we are light eaters and we over ordered. It is rare that a standard dish like this can impress me, congrats! Overall the food (and service) was 5 stars. Johnson was our server who happened to be one of the sons of the owner greeted us and we ordered 3 dishes which were very good. No changes were made in the dining area as the previous owners had it for a short time. Restroom was very clean and well stocked. Dining room ambience was the same as my previous visit and price point for 3 items, with tea and soda cane to $60 with a 20% tip. New place couple months old now. Open late some nights! Needed to drown our sorrows over the Warriors loss needed a place that stays open past 9pm and here we are! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Had a craving for Tomato Beef Chow Mein and this place came through! Good serving of pan fried noodles (Hong Kong Style). Sauce was flavorful with sweetness. Lots of the veggies and beef. We also got salt and pepper fish filets and taro curry puff. Fish had light batter not oily and loved all the fixins they were tossed with. The puff were like the "woo tao" you get for dim sum but had curry inside mixed with chicken peas and carrots. I would like more curry flavor. Just saying not a negative as it did have curry flavor. Delicious. You will want to plan on looking for street parking if you don't live there, but should be able to find some within a few minutes. The setting is nothing special but you should be going there for the food. Service is fine, and what you would expect for an authentic dim sum restaurant. They have a fairly good selection to choose from and the prices are very reasonable. We ended up ordering Shanghai soup dumplings (Q1; delicious, very hot), BBQ pork bao (R1; delicious), egg custard bao (R6; delicious), sesame balls (T4; so good), kurobuta pork bao (T1; delicious with textural delight), and chili oil wontons (S1; so good). The dumplings were tasty but a bit sticky (they broke apart easily), and didn't come with any of the standard vinegar dipping sauce. So many dumpling spots in San Francisco and so many with similar names. Dumpling King seems to be the latest. We had three adults and two kids and they were very accommodating. The menu is quite extensive. If you are looking for options beyond just dumplings, then that is a reason to come here. One menu was all dumplings and bao and a few noodle dishes (think what you will find at many of the other dumpling restaurants) and the other had more traditional Chinese restaurant options- an extensive selection of vegetables, noodles, chicken, lamb, beef, and more. The food was alright. I've had better versions of most of what we ordered that I enjoyed more elsewhere. That being said, i think they do a few things well that could be reasons to come here. One, the presentation of each dish was really nice. The soup dumplings were each served on individual spoons, the bao had cute designs, etc. They brought out tea and water right away without us asking and the tea kettle was so cute too! Service was pretty good although it did get a little less so as they got busier. One of the dishes we ordered (cumin lamb) didn't come out and we basically were finished with our meal so we asked them to just remove it from the order which they did without any push back. I'm pretty sure they forgot about it but I appreciated that they didn't try to protest when we told them to not make it. The other reason to come here is definitely the variety. Maybe this affects the food a bit since everything was just okay and maybe focusing on fewer dishes would lead to better results. But there is definitely something for everyone including a lot of vegetarian options. What we got: - Shanghai (pork) soup dumplings: these were alright. Not my favorite but solid and I appreciated the ginger being on the side since I'm not a fan of it. The pork flavor in the broth was full of depth, more so than most soup dumplings I've had - Vegetable soup dumplings: We hadn't really seen these on the menu elsewhere so it was cool they had them and they had a few types of veggies inside. I didn't try these but heard they were really good. If you're vegetarian, these might be a reason to come here - Vegetable chow mein: This could have been a bit more flavorful but if you add the condiments they have on the table (black vinegar, chilli, soy sauce), it helped. This was a huge portion too. I wouldn't order this again given the number of other interesting options - Garlic chinese broccoli: they have an impressive number of veggie dishes and we liked this. A big portion as well. It was pretty one note with the garlic and not much else so if you want something more varied, one of the other vegetable dishes might be better. Next time I would probably get either the eggplant or the green beans instead - Four sweet bao combo: these are decorated as animals (cute!) and you get 1 red bean, 1 egg (not the molten kind), 1 black sesame, 1 taro. These were nice to share but definitely not a must order. I think the egg and taro were the best of the four I feel like I would want to try more of the menu to get a better opinion of the place. The food from my visit was somewhere between 3 and 4 stars but the experience was generally nice so I rounded up. read more

for a place that opened recently, the interior could be nicer. the chairs are mismatched and some look quite old. the sauce trays are messy, something that could be easily fixed. i wish the tea was loose leaf instead of one tea bag. the food quality varies. the mapo tofu was entirely flavorless. the chili oil pork dumplings were delicious and juicy. the goldfish dumpling was good, but nothing special. the black bean noodles (zhajiang mian) was decent; the noodles were a little overcooked, but the sauce is flavorful. the thai iced tea with the bear is nice, but they should add less ice so the tea bear can actually melt into the drink. i get that it's to keep the bear afloat, but i was looking forward to having it balance out the sweet cream on top. the salt and pepper squid was a good appetizer. the service is alright. they came by once. read more

Got the zha jiang and scallion oil noodles to go. The noodles were tasty even the next day. I would totally get the zha jiang noodles again , hefty portion, had a nice kick. We went there for the very first time a couple of days ago and the food was really good. We ordered the tomato beef chow mein with "chubby" noodles. For those of you who grew up on this Chinatown staple, the taste was reminiscent of what I had growing up although I'd go with the thinner, standard pan-fried or flat rice noodles next time. The taste was almost on par with my current standard at R & G Lounge. That's saying something. We also ordered the Shanghai stir fry noodle/rice cake dish (you have a choice and we chose the rice cakes). This had really great umami with tender beef (+$2) and the texture of the rice cakes was chewy the way I like it. All in all, a really good meal at a local Clement Street eatery. I would say the menu can be a bit daunting as many dishes list a gazillion options to add this or that or more of this and less of that.
