Really appreciate how their menu has grown over the years. The crab fried rice dumplings & noodle combo is great. Would recommend getting the soup rather than dry noodles. There's kimchi fries are also great! There's a little bit of seating and some table side service, but it still has a very casual feel.

Food was unique & good! Unsure about an unsavory moment with the waitress but not going to go into it so I'll leave it at that.

SERVICE - located on st marks pl in east village near Astor place - very small interior with seating for about 10-15 people - looks like a mostly takeout spot - ambiance good for a casual meal - service was polite but not overly friendly - food served quickly MENU - variety of dumplings and noodle soups - vegan/vegetarian options available - average price ($18 per person) FOOD - massaman curry noodle soup (6/10): kale noodles topped with four massaman curry vegetable dumplings, bokchoy, garlic, and scallions in a salty clear broth. If I was just rating the dumplings I would have given them a higher score. On their own they are flavorful though not very spicy, and have a pleasant blend of al dente vegetables. I was not a huge fan of the rest of the soup components. The broth was bland and just tasted like salted water. The noodles were chewy but also not adding much to the dish. If the broth also had a curry flavor I think that would have helped make the noodles more of a standout meal. WOULD I GO BACK? Possibly for the dumplings on their own.

The Giant Dumpling Platter (20 pcs)

went in right at opening and asked for "the giant" party platter-- they made it very quick and were very kind! Definitely feeds up to 3 people. Went to the park and ate the party platter outside and I couldn't think of better way to spend a weekend catch up! Fan of the dumplings (noodles were a smidge bland for me)! Cheers!

A tiny hole in the wall place that has dumplings and soups- the food was overall extremely poor quality. Noodles were ok, broth was clearly packaged, dumplings were horrible. The cashier also was not very nice and their prices are not cheap for what they offer.

Came here twice and got "The Giant" $45 plate both times where you can mix and match a bunch of regular flavored dumplings since it's most worth it. Some flavors are absolutely terrible in my opinion where I literally spit it out and so did my guest (who can eat anything and everything), there are only a few classic ones that tasted normal and that's what we loaded up on. The food was alright, not particularly yummy by any means either time but was alright. The food came only slightly warm and they aren't even dumplings but sui mais. Definitely so much better options elsewhere

Small restaurant with a few tables to sit inside and a very friendly worker to get you through the door and with a menu! I have never seen another restaurant with thai dish inspired dumplings so i love that this is a thing. Thai lover set - perfect size for 2 people to share and have a light dinner since each flavor comes in 2s. We were pretty contently full after as well as the dumplings are packed with filling and not small. From top to bottom: tom yum - very spicy and flavorful. i liked this a lot but if i had too many of just this flavor it might be too spicy. 3.5/5 Pad thai - sweet and juicy! this was good. 3.5/5 unsure if this is the green curry or thai basil - good but nothing crazy 2.75/5 crab fried rice - understand the concept but don't think it works well here. felt so carb heavy with thicker dumpling skin on this one specifically plus being filled with rice. 1/5 unsure if this is the green curry or thai basil - good but nothing crazy 2.5/5 massaman curry - this one was too dry for my taste. there doesn't seem to be sauce inside and didnt feel like the taste went well with the dumpling. 1/5

No frills, hole in the wall, casual eatery. No restrooms, which is a star off. Had to run to the nearest bar afterwards. Inconvenient, so be warned. Food is prepared and served quickly. Small menu of dumplings. Customers eat quickly and are on their merry way. Tiny seating space. Only five tiny tables. Grab and go kind of place. Tried "the giant" $45, which was good to share, if you're a couple. Comes with noodles and 20 dumplings. We chose kale noodles, which were tasty. The sweet & salty broth that the noodles were served in added body to the sweet-ish noodles. The dumplings were okay. You cannot get the best four best selling types of dumplings in this dish, so you will be limited to simpler items. All the dumplings we sampled [excluding the top four best selling types], tasted identical, as they all had a chicken & pork minced meat mix base. The "flavors" were added on top--one shrimp, one octopus piece, one salmon piece. We preferred the shrimp and octopus ones. The dough on dumplings was light and not too thick, so that was good. Did not feel greasy or heavy after consuming this meal. The chilly oil that comes with dumplings order was delicious. It is available for sale for $8 per small jar. A note of caution. Sorry for TMI. We both experienced some stomach issues after our dinner. My bf had insanely toxic gas, which almost poisoned us throughout the night. I had severe constipation and stomach cramps. We both had issues with going to the toilet, as the experience proved painfully challenging.

You can't find a more welcoming place in St. Marks. The moment we entered this tiny Thai eatery, we were greeted by a super friendly and personable host. We tried three of their dumplings signatures: the chicken Pad Thai, the Tom Yum and the Thai pork basil. They were all solid, but next time I will probably get 3 orders of the chicken Pad Thai, as these are simply sensational. DO try their 2 sauces, even better if combined for a fantastic concoction of flavors. The place is super tiny but incredibly beautiful: plants, elegant trays, mirrors, lively, paint job, cool music. You will not regret going.

Cute interior and attentive staff! My soup was just mediocre and the noodles didn't really have any flavor to them. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the pork and seaweed dumplings with egg noodles just didn't really hit the spot.

I had a craving for dumplings and stopped by here with a friend during our lunch break, I've always wanted to try it out so thank you friend for the opportunity! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the super kind and friendly person behind the register. She was super patient with us and had amazing recc's based on what either one of us were craving. The space itself is pretty intimate but also really cooly decorated, very trendy! They were also playing all the heights from the 2000's and early aughts so it just made eating there a super fun experience in general. Everything was super hot and fresh! I got the Dumpling & Noodles combo with octopus dumplings. The broth was sweeter than I was expecting but a flavor that paired really nicely with the crazy amounts of chilli oil I ended putting in there my friend also got the Dumpling & Noodles without any broth and chicken dumplings. Overall a super filling meal and we ended up walking out with left overs, high spirits and satisfied bellies. Definitely check them out!

I'd been wanting to try this place for awhile... and it did not disappoint!! We stopped in at about 6 on a Tuesday and there was nobody else there, so we had our choice of seating. There are 5 tables inside, some really cool neon lighting, and great music playing. We decided to get the Thai Lover's platter of dumplings, which included all of the dumplings we were interested in. The chicken pad thai was my favorite, because it tasted exactly like the noodle dish but in tasty bite sized form. We also really liked the crab fried rice dumpling, and the big piece of crab included inside. The other dumplings were tasty too, but just a bit spicier than we had planned for. Overall a really cool spot that I'd definitely return to!

Nice little spot serving some good vegetarian items . Food was fresh and service was good . I tried the massaman curry dumpling and it was very tasty . Took the chilli oil on recommendation- I asked for spicy dip- and a touch of that made it even more yummy . The kale noodles was not bad too. Not a huge fan of the taste but again it was worth a try . My son thought his pad Thai dumplings were a bit sweet but good . Overall a nice place that's clean and serves good food .

We've been to several different locations of Nan Xiang before and it is always a favorite. When we…read morediscovered the Koreatown Nan Xiang was right around the corner from our hotel this visit, we made it a priority to visit, and we brought friends who were new to soup dumplings (XLB). There was a wait list to get seated when we arrived but the process was simple and moved quickly, and service was prompt and food came out quickly. We ordered both the standard pork XLB and my faves, the pork and crab ones, as well as pan fried pork dumplings which I was surprised to discover were also full of soup, chicken corn dumplings, and two noodle dishes: rice cake with pork & mustard greens, and pan fried noodles with beef. Servers were conscientious about allergies and very specific about letting us know which items were which, but other than that were largely appropriately hands off. They did ask us, mid-meal, if it would be ok if a service dog were at the next table to ours, which I thought was courteous. (The service dog was adorable and well behaved.) All the food was fab, which we expected. It's nice to come in a group and be able to order more items for a greater variety. The rookies executed well (and thanked us for the instructions on how to eat XLB to avoid getting soup everywhere) and were pleasantly surprised by my longtime favorite, the rice cake and mustard greens. I'll need to remember that the pan fried pork dumplings also have soup, because I really liked the texture of them. Such good food, and as always, better shared with friends.

Just a few things to pick on. 1) cucumber dish was good, but did feel it lacked a bit flavor and spice. Huge portion 2) wine cold chicken, felt like it was nothing special. Definitely had better elsewhere and prob wouldn't order again. Had food remorse and wish I ordered another cold dish 3) pork xiao long bao, soooo flavorful and juicy. Like I felt like I was having soup. I think the skin was a little too thick for my liking. Overall would definitely come back if I was in the area but would seek to come if it wasn't convenient.

Beats the Mountain House one by a lot. I quite liked the dry pot spicy carp although it is pretty spicy. The diced chicken with red chili peppers is super spicy so I'd skip that next time.

I really liked the scallion pancake and eggplant. The pancake wasn't crispy/dry, but rather the exterior was crisp and the inside was still a little soft/fluffy. It's the first time I had a scallion pancake that wasn't just straight dough inside/outside, or so thin that it got crisped out. I really liked this texture profile though. The eggplant was 10/10; the eggplant was cooked well, so tender but not soggy. The sauce was really good too such that it was sufficient spice but not flaming. Would recommended. I enjoyed the cucumber salad and tofu as well, but have had better. Seasoning and prep were good though -- although the tofu was cooked so tender (or maybe was silken tofu to begin with) that the whole table was struggling with carrying it from plate to mouth -- heh. Food came out very quickly; staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Decent amount of seating with a cozy vibe. It was a good meal, not my favorite Szechuan spot, but definitely hit the spot.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
