Am I the only one that thought the donuts at Dunkin' were subpar? I ordered a donut because it was drink happy hour ($2 iced lattes from 2-6pm daily with your Dunkin' app) and I had the survey coupon for a free donut. I ordered the frosted pink one with sprinkles and it was so nasty and tasted stale. I couldn't stomach a second bite. I love sugar, I love donuts, and I like Dunkin's iced lattes.....but their donuts, never again. Even if I had a free coupon, I don't think I would use it!! I stopped at The Dunkin Donuts on 23771 El Toro Road In Lake Forest. The place was nice and clean. The cashier Nicole was super ice and friendly, as well as her co-worker. The Two sweet ladies were nice and helpful. I was allowed to take the photos. This is only a drive through. I sat on a outside table to enjoy my meal with coffee. They added cream and sugar for me. I ordered The Egg & Cheese Wake-up Wrap Sandwich; with eggs, cheese, and bacon. It was very good & tasty. For dessert I ordered Three Hart shaped donuts; lemon, cherry, and blueberry. Love going to Dunkin donuts as I am a fan of their coffee. But today we had the worst experience here. We generally go to the other location off la Paz, but because we're going to Ontario for Thanksgiving we went to this one as it was on the way. Well, we got our coffee (which is a bit icy but that's not the bad part) and a tea. We we're on the 133 before we had noticed that the cup they gave us was defective and had a giant cut down the side and had leaked all over the cars cupholder. I won't be coming to this location again. I paid at the walk up counter with cash. Employee gives me my change. Then, using the same gloves that handled the filthy money, grabs my donut and try's to give it to me. I asked for a new, clean donut, which she gave me (with a free side of bad attitude). Dismal service. Employees do their jobs but with minimal effort in masking their hatred of you and your need for a diabetic shock. Small seating area outside but this is counter service only, so the small seating area outside is the only seating area. Iced coffee was SWEET as reported by someone who loves sweets. The lid didn't fit the cup properly and it leaked all over my car. I thought maybe it was just not snapped on all the way so I figured it wasn't a big deal. Nope. The lid actually doesn't fit the cup, so other people reporting this issue have a legitimate complaint (honestly, when I first saw/read the comments, I thought it was user error because I have no faith in humanity anymore). Donuts sit out on a rack all day. But hey, you can say the same for most donut shops, bakeries, buffets, and salad bars. Not much else to say really. I don't eat donuts but everyone else on this planet apparently does so I find myself buying them now and then and sometimes eating them because it's just what you do I suppose. I doubt I'll be returning since my only reason for coming was a one off situation requiring me to pick up a colleague who is a fan of donuts. The staff at this location are always very nice. However, they are extremely slow and incapable of handling multiple orders at once. Today was the worst. I spent 15 minutes in the drive through for 3 cars. I've never come through this drive through when there's been multiple cars and had it go smoothly. And forget about using mobile ordering. The first time I tried it here, no problem. But the three times after that I've tried I've gotten there and had to tell them I placed an order because the ticket was still sitting on the printer, even though I had chosen the option to have them start my order cause I was on the way. This is a great location with nice staff but the either need to hire more people or train the ones they have to multitask better. So, on my way to work at 5:55 AM today, I went thru their drive thru. What a disaster! With ONE car ahead of me, it too almost 15 minutes. When I got to order, I ordered a dozen glazed donut holes. The young man told me they came in increments of 5. So, I ordered 15 and reminded him GLAZED... Finally got to the front to pay and the girl said, the young man didn't get my order??? So, again, I ordered 15 donut holes, she asked if I wanted assorted, I said ONLY glazed. I paid the almost $4.00 dollars for 15 donut holes, where I pay $1.50 near work. I get this is a chain "donut and coffee shop"... and I'm not to expect the best customer service here, but I'd seriously still expect SOME LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've given this place several chances (six opportunities) to earn my business. Every time the employees are clueless on how to use the reward system, clueless on how to complete a transaction, and without fail, mess up my order somehow. For example, you order iced coffee right? You'd imagine it's cold coffee served over ice, NOT HOT COFFEE SERVED OVER ICE. When the girl brought it to the pick up window, she said, "Oh, all the ice melted, do you want another cup of ice to put it in?" The most recent experience left me in disbelief. The young boy (lazy and apathetic attitude) taking orders finished with the couple ahead of me, I walk up to the window and he turns around to his co worker showing something on his cellphone. A girl had to snap him out of it and tell him a customer was at the window. Guys, it's not rocket science to notice a customer waiting here, the whole front of the ordering window is CLEAR GLASS. Anyways, this kid didn't say hi or acknowledge me in any way. (Water off a duck's back right?) I told him I wanted to order a 2 for $5 deal as seen on the rewards app and he claimed they were not offering that anymore. Well it says on the app I can order this at all locations. The kid screws up the transaction again (doubt I actually got charged for the order). Same kid proceeds to the pick up window and without a word pushes the bag my direction. Thank you? Now for the first bite. The breakfast sandwiches are cold on the inside. Why? At this point I've already jumped on the 5 freeway... annoyed but I decide to head back. The girl greeted me at the window (KUDOS) and asked what was wrong with the order, I told her the inside is cold, she goes, "Oh I think it's just the cheese." BUT THE WHOLE INSIDE IS COLD. And WTF? (RETRACT KUDOS) Since when ordering a hot breakfast sandwich do you serve cold, unmelted cheese? Seriously? Am I missing something here? Where is the training? Dunkin, you're letting untrained, passive and apathetic employees run your store fronts and watch, you guys are going to go out of business again for a second time.
