    Roasted Crispy Duck
    JiMmy P.

Celebrated my wife's birthday with a lovely dinner. We were seated right away upon arrival which set a great tone for the evening. They started us off with some fresh bread which was absolutely wonderful especially with the olive oil vinaigrette. We enjoyed it so much we had to ask for seconds. To start, we shared the seared yellowfin tuna appetizer. It was fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I went with the roasted crispy duck. It lived up to its name, perfectly crispy and delicious. The gravy sauce it came with was a bit on the sweeter side than we're used to. We tend to prefer an Asian-style gravy when it comes to duck. My wife had the puttanesca which she really enjoyed. I gave it a try, but it wasn't quite my thing. I usually like my pasta with some kind of protein. For dessert, they surprised her with a complimentary tiramisu birthday treat which was a nice touch. We also ordered a single cup of cappuccino to share just enough to enjoy without staying up too late. Service throughout the night was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of.

4.8 Why did it take us so long to try this place... Date night. Had reservations for 6:30 and were seated promptly and then greeted promptly. Inside had a few smaller rooms. Front room had larger tables and a little louder, our middle room was quiet and intimate. Our amazing servers name was Hannah. Super upbeat and helpful, genuine and wonderful at her job- glasses always full and she was on point with her recommendations. Immediate served warm bread and oil. Started off with wine and a beer. Appetizer- crab cakes, not just lump, but actually large chunks of buttery, melt in your mouth, crab. Light sauce in the side, which it honestly didn't need. Also tried the homemade mango hot sauce, not needed but was very good and we purchased a bottle to go. Salad- Split the palm salad. Looks unassuming but was a top 3 salad for me. Texture, flavor, delicious. Meal- As you can opt to do a half and half meal, we did. Each of us s deciding on the filet (blue cheese, balsamic) and sea bass (slightly crisp outside, melt in your mouth tender inside). Both come with a large pistachio ravioli side and veggies. We couldn't finish our meals, so took our leftovers to go and ordered some dessert to go: Lemoncillo cheesecake- good, and the chocolate mousse- decadent and a fave. Only thing average were the veggies, but they were complimentary to the meal. You will spend a bit, but for a local establishment with quality and service this good, worth it.

    Seared Yellowfin Tuna

Celebrated my birthday here. Located beside Cinnotis, the place looks small outside but surprisingly can accommodate more people. There are more than enough parking spaces for the customers. For starters, we tried the Seared Yellowfin Tuna, which was beautifully prepared but a little on the salty side due to the sauce. For our mains, my husband went with the Crispy Duck, which was indeed crispy and flavorful, though the sauce was a tad too sweet for our liking. I opted for the Puttanesca pasta, substituting angel hair with pappardelle. It was a great choice, rich in flavor, with a generous portion of pasta that I thoroughly enjoyed. To cap off the meal, I was offered a complimentary dessert and chose the Tiramisu. It was divine! Light, creamy, and not too sweet, making for an excellent end to the evening. We paired it with a cappuccino, which was the perfect complement to the dessert. Overall, this restaurant offers a cozy yet spacious setting with great service and a menu that caters to various tastes. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a nice meal out, it's definitely worth a visit.

We dined in on a reservation and were seated promptly despite the restaurant being very full. The ambiance is fun with a cork ceiling and walls full of Christmas decor. We enjoyed the crab cakes which were crisp and flavorful and the mozzarella was fresh. We enjoyed the sea bass which was flaky and well seasoned, the carbonara had the perfect amount of sauce and the pistachio ravioli had a nice crunch. The pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the meal and service albeit an expensive meal we would definitely return

Dwight's Bistro is hands down my favorite restaurant in Jax Beach! What truly sets it apart is the incredible service. Everyone goes above and beyond, and you can tell the owners genuinely care about every guest's experience. The crab cakes are the best I've ever had, and I'm still dreaming about that filet. Enjoy this photo of my empty plate because my phone never eats first at Dwight's!

I think I had the best meal in the Jacksonville area at Dwight's, and now I'm afraid to go back since I can't imagine a second visit being any better... I'll have to challenge myself and get back there. First off, the service from Sean/Shawn?? was top-notch. Just the right level of making me feel like we're old friends against the backdrop of that friend serving me in a way that I could have requested anything imaginable. When I ask for a recommendation between two items, he reinforced that at Dwight's, the first answer is "yes" and then it's just a question of how... He ended up bringing me both items that I couldn't choose between and didn't even charge extra for that. The lamb chops were incredible (veal was pretty good too), the shrimp casino appetizer was one of the best apps I've ever had, I only wish I had saved room for dessert. Pricing is a little bit higher end, but certainly not anything out of line for the quality and quantity of food, combined with the incredible service. Reservations were easy to make online, noting that my wife and I enjoyed sitting in the dining room - it seems that there were many other people who prefer to sit bar side so they could watch the cooking happen. I wouldn't necessarily say that the decor is anything that necessarily resonated with me either outside the restaurant or in the dining room, but it was a comfortable setting in a classic European theme. Historically when people have asked me what my favorite / interesting restaurant is in the Jacksonville area I haven't had an answer... Now I will clearly say, "just go to Dwight's."

Tonight was our first time eating at this restaurant and it was a real treat. The ambiance is cozy and romantic. Service from Sean was also great. We started with the shrimp casino. The menu has plenty of great sounding appetizers and entrees. My husband was between the lamb chops and the veal piccata and asked Sean for a recommendation. He then said you could get a half of each entree, which had never been offered to us in all of our years of eating out. My husband loved both items. I opted for the scallops, which are served scampi style. They came with a big portion of delicious carrots as well as green beans and one pistachio ravioli. For dessert we had the apple crisp, also delicious.

We were given a gift card by one of my husband's clients and were happy to try it again for the first time in years. We were told to sit at the bar and watch the team cook. You will need to reserve these seats a few weeks in advance as there are only 6 bar seats. It was a fun experience but I think I would choose a table next time to be a little more comfortable. I did not remember what we had on our last visit, but we ended up ordering pretty much the same things with a few exceptions. The bread to start with is delicious! Warm soft center with a nice crust. Hubby had the 1/2 spinach salad and I had the 1/2 chopped without bacon or onion. Still large portions for both. I chose the angel hair puttanesca with no anchovies or onions and light garlic. It was delicious and a huge portion! I couldn't even eat 1/3 of it. Hubby had the crab cake dinner and loved it. He said they have some of the best crab cakes he has ever had. We shared a crème brûlée dessert that was good but torched a little too much. I took my own wine and their corkage fee is $25. A bit high for this area. Hubby enjoyed some light beers. Our server Gary was very nice and able to accommodate all our requests. True authentic Italian fare. We will go back soon. Reservations recommended.

Lived in Jacksonville for 3 years and never heard of this hidden gem. I would have never expected such amazing, authentic Italian with an intimate atmosphere. The food was to die for. From the handmaid bread, to the freshly made pasta carbonara. The highly rated (MASSIVE) pork chop was so good. And the CRAB CAKES! From someone born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland, Delaware, and Chesapeake, I approve of the crab cakes (and that's saying a lot!). The service was amazing from the host staff, server, and bus boys frequently refilling your drink. I can't wait to go back. Perfect date night spot!!

    Baby Spinach Salad
    Kim C.

Excellent service from Katie. Everyone was friendly. Private room for party of 18. Preset meal "schmear" ... food very good! 6-courses with choice of entree. The filet was easily one of the most tender. Told the scallops were delicious & many got the sea bass - while nice and flaky - wasn't as flavorful as expected. The homemade lemon cake was a nice finish. All in a cool place to dine & celebrate. Open for dinner. Next to Cinnoti's ... share parking lot.

The mediterranean nachos were deceiving because it was more like a platter of hummus/tzatziki than nachos and the pita was way too salty. The steak frites was a little overcooked to medium well when we asked for med rare, but truffle fries were delicious of course. This will be a longer review, but hopefully helpful for those that share our passion and want to get an idea of the impeccable dining experience we received! Cuisine, beverage, service and ambiance were all beautifully represented in a tour de force Bordeaux wine dinner at JJ's Liberty Bistro in Ponte Vedra this last Saturday. Each course was one foodie thrill after another! On the heels of an exquisite Valentine's Day meal (reviewed on this site), we jumped at the opportunity to experience Chef Oscar Perez' masterful creations expertly paired with wines from the beautiful Château Lagrange. For wine enthusiasts, this is a historic French Third Growth Bordeaux estate in the Saint-Julien appellation, known for its powerful, complex red wines made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Taking an already-elevated dining experience to another level, owner JJ brought Château Lagrange's General Manager and Winemaker Matthieu Bordes along with US Manager Marie Gabriele and Importer Patrick Leveque to thoughtfully discuss each pairing from wine composition, regional history, vine age, crop yields, flavor profile, and so much more. My wife and I were fortunate to sit alongside them as we dined, talking about their passion for crafting amazing product, sharing their extensive knowledge, and exhibiting immense patience as I attempted to recall my French vocabulary! They were warm, generous and delightful company who we look forward to seeing again when next they return to JJ's. As is a hallmark of dining at JJ's, the service was elegant and fluid, timed with precision like a beautiful dance. We began with Stuffed Mussels w/Crepinette, paired with a white 2022 Les Arums De Lagrange. The white wine served as not only a palate cleanser, but also gave gorgeous floral and buttery notes that balanced the mussels perfectly. Next came a light Sheepshead Bordelaise, SO tender and sauced expertly to ensure each flavor could be tasted rather than overwhelming the palate with one versus another (wonderfully paired with a 2016 Haut Medoc De Lagrange). Pictured below, you can see how beautiful the plating was, as with all dishes that evening. One of two favorites on the night...impossible to choose...was the Squab two ways (pigeon, akin to duck), served with Dutchess potato. Rich and decadent, this was a gorgeous pairing with the Merlot-dominant 2017 Les Fiefs De Lagrange. I'll be thinking about this dish for a long, long time! Lamb Loin is a perennial favorite, perfectly cooked and sauced, accompanied by the most delicious mushroom soufflé we'd ever tasted. The flavors melded together seamlessly, enhanced further by each sip of the bold, fruit forward 2018 Chateau Lagrange St Julien. The Cabernet-dominant blend was magnificent, age worthy but very approachable now - we took home a winemaker signed bottle! Finally, we came to a very special dessert not often found outside of the France, Caneles de Bordeaux. It has a dense texture with a slight crisp exterior, and was created to use the yellow of the egg; in the past, the whites were used to filter the wines. Delectable and unique, capping off a truly memorable event! We were thrilled to learn that JJ hosts these amazing dinners monthly, so I've included a picture of the upcoming schedule. They have a tendency to sell out (as with the dinner we attended), so recommend calling the number below and booking early! If anyone would like to experience something truly special and intimate, where the outside world melts away and you can truly indulge your senses, this checks all of the boxes and places itself among the finest beginning-to-end dining experiences available to the public. Salut, et bon appetite!! JJ's Liberty Bistro 330 A1A N #209, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 (904) 273-7980

We had decaf espresso's and split a coconut macron (highly recommend!) and a coffee meringue (delightful) for dessert. We were checked on often by our server and JJ the owner stopped by multiple times. After we finished lunch JJ helped us with recommendations on a few French wines we wanted to try! We signed up for a Burgundy Dinner at the end of the month, so I know we will be back soon! I highly recommend JJ's Bistro! 5 stars!

To this day it's still probably my all time favorite event I've attended here as an Elite! BUT it was also just as great on my second visit around 6 months ago. Now enter Le Petit Paris San Pablo! I knew there were other locations of Le Petit, but this is the first time I've visited one of the smaller locations, which to my surprise includes a drive thru! I kinda wonder how well that works! We didn't do the drive thru on our visit - it was to enjoy the inside experience! This location is smaller in space than the Southside restaurant. There is nice table seating but realize it can easily get crowded quickly - I would guess mostly at lunchtime. Overall, counter and beverage/pastry prep area where you place orders is clean, organized, and though there area less choices on the pastry side verses the larger restaurant, they still have much of the great stuff here. I'll also give kudos on how the servers and prep team work hard to keep the restaurant clean and organized. I rarely take pictures of restrooms but even with a lunchtime rush on a Sunday, they still managed to keep the restrooms pretty clean and great in appearance. The cashier and servers were outstanding in their enthusiasm, attention to detail, and checking up on us occasionally. They took care of us when we had a couple of special needs as well. Being familiar with this restaurant, I knew exactly what danish I wanted. I took the blueberry cheesecake danish and my Dearest chose a pistachio danish. Those who visit Le Petit Paris MUST get a pastry when they visit! I think the cookies and pastries here are the best in JAX! And get the chocolate mocha latte with it! For the sandwich, I chose the steak sandwich. The dressing on this sandwich was incredibly good - I loved it overall. I will say one thing though - the baguette is difficult to chew and with relatively chewy steak, though delicious, it can be a battle chewing the food. I won't score down because this is the normal way the sandwich is created. However, I would only recommend that a sour dough option would be more visible on the menu, or inform people of this option when they order this particular sandwich or other baguettes. But there were zero issues with the salmon quiche! It was amazing!! Rich in flavor and a nice healthy serving. We have leftovers on both of these meals. With life being a little rough recently, it was good to get out and find a happy place for a couple hours! I will note here that the food and service is great here. But people should be aware that meals, among some other items, are pricey here. But for a special day, it was good to set that fact aside for a couple of hours. Visit this restaurant! Le Petit Paris is in my top 3 JAX favorites! Recommend: HIGHEST

Even though it is pear pasta, I assumed the added cheeses and sauce would balance out the flavor but it was way too sweet. The oysters were good, but shall we than I expected. I opted for their snapper special: pan seared over jasmine rice with string green beans and a nice sauce underneath. It came out looking like a 5 star meal and tasted as such. One of the best red snapper entrees I've had!. It's hard not to give 5 stars when the fish is this amazing! Our waitress was also on point and there when we needed her. I hope to be back here again and would recommend!

We came again for Father's Day- reservations made in advance. Seated on time, seated on the top- by the window, quieter than downstairs and a wonderful view. Server was great. Food: Calamari- only ok, not a lot of flavor at all. Shrimp and grits- large serving and good. Bitter beans, always good- maybe didn't need so much (lesson learned( Crabcakes- this time lacked in comparison to others in terms of flavor and freshness. Really good French 75s. Still a good visit overall and would try again.

As a matter of fact, I even told my in-laws of my first pregnancy in 1996 at dinner/before a show. I've nothing but fond memories no matter the reason for the visit nor the show that we saw. While my kids were both in elementary school, I chaperoned numerous field trips to the Alhambra, as well! I can remember seeing Winnie the Pooh $ Christopher Robin, in particular, because Pooh Bear was one of my children's favorite character. Most recently, I've visited the theatre with a large group of girlfriends! We had a blast catching up with one another and laughing throughout our meals.... And then throughout the show! I cannot remember a time that I've ever been disappointed with the dinner service, bar service, nor the presentation of the show! The only thing I could possibly complain about is that it typically seems to be ridiculously cold inside! But, lesson learned..... I now take a jacket or sweater with me. Looking forward to many many more dinners & shows at the Alhambra! It is most definitely a MUST DO outing!

Really enjoyed my experience here! Especially for the price, I'd say it's pretty worth for not only…read morea three course meal, but also a show. The workers are all super friendly and helpful too. I liked that you get to eat your meal before the show starts, allowing you to just enjoy the venue and chat with your table as you eat. And you don't have to worry about servers being in the way, or dining too loudly. That being said, eating and then having the show after does eat away a big chunk of the evening. As for the food, you're paying more for the experience rather than the best food of your life. There were some things I loved like the bread and butter and the squash casserole. But other things like the salmon was super fishy, or the pork cutlet was kind of dry and tough in the middle. The show was amazing and really funny. The cast performed so well, and I like that the venue is on the smaller side. Definitely makes for a more intimate and interactive experience.
