have to be honest.. i'd give this place 4 stars, and 1 star for nostalgia.. subs are always good, just the bread is ok and generic (chewy, no flavor), definitely brings down the sub's taste, but otherwise, all the ingredients in the sub (esp the italian dressing addition) is tasty. it's especially good for the price. their 6 inch feels bigger than that and their large is definitely large.. =P my sister and i split a 6 inch and were satisfied! and the frozen slushies!! so delicious!! sour apple is definitely mouth puckering sour! they've now upgraded to boba straws hehe. this place is very old school with only 4 "booth-like" tables seating 4 to 6 people. most people take their sub to go. oh and i overheard their chicken salad is not like a usual chicken salad so if you want that, be sure to ask what makes it special (and the lady did make sure that the customers knew that when they ordered it). service is always good, fast, and friendly. the lady that served me 10 years ago still made me my sub that day =) definitely family owned treasure with lots of memory. i will be back =D read more

I was in Anaheim visiting some friends and they know I love good food so they said you have to try this sandwich place. I was really excited to find a local sub shop that had great reviews. Being an east coaster, it can be difficult to find a truly good grinder out west. I went with the "bomber" which was capicola and genoa salami. The bread was super soft and fresh, and the meat was very good. I will say that although I am almost sure that the meat was fresh sliced that day, it does subtract a little bit to see a deli sandwich made by taking pre-sliced meat out and quickly throwing it on the sandwich. I get the time-saving component, but there's something to be said for fresh-slicing the deli meat and putting it right on the bread. That's a staple of all great east coast delis, so maybe I'm a bit home-biased. The toppings were all good and fresh, and it is very reasonably priced for a quality sandwich. I didn't try the "slushies", but the high school kids ordering the Dr. Pepper slushies seemed pretty excited. I will give this place another try, as I'm desperately trying to find a place in the YL area with a GREAT meatball sub! read more

Great turkey club sandwich! The 7 inch size is plenty big, the bread was fresh and soft and I really liked their house made Italian dressing that topped off the sandwich. We got two sammy's, two drinks, chips and a potato salad for just around $20. Not too bad for a quality lunch at a yummy deli! I would come back and try some of the other sandwiches too. My first experience there wasn't too great. I ordered a turkey bacon avocado sandwich with extra pickles. I was told they ran out of pickles. Oh no! Guess that can happen anywhere though. But the two surprises after that was that the bread was dryish instead of moist and chewy like it usually is at some other sandwich shops I go to that make their bread fresh daily. This shop may or may not do that, but the bread was kind of dry and made my sandwich less enjoyable. Surprise number two was finding that they put Italian dressing on it. Wish they would have asked if I wanted that. That usually doesn't come on that type of sandwich at the other shops I go to (that were unfortunately closed for the 4th of July today--so I was at least blessed today that this shop was open). If I had known, I would have taken more care, but since I didn't, I ended up with it dripping off my sandwich onto both my shirt and shorts. And we know that oil stains usually mean you need to throw away that article of clothing unless you're quick to treat it. I wish they would have said, "The sandwich comes with this, this, and this on it...Is that okay?" The bacon and turkey were high quality. Just wish the bread weren't dry and I had been given a heads up about the Italian dressing so I could have requested them not to add it to my sandwich. Anyway, nice girls working there. Would probably visit more to give the shop more chances but it's kind of out of the way for me. I just went there today because my normal deli favorites were closed. read more

Hands down some of the best tasting subs I've ever had! Malibu chicken changed my life! Pizza sub is one of their most famous and delicious, and don't forget to try the turkey club soooooo amazing. And a lime slushy I've been coming to DWs since I was 13 years old, I am now 30 and still eat here frequently. This is a quaint hope in the wall mom and pop shop with exquisite subs. I recommend getting the dressing on the side because they can over do it sometimes making it not healthy anymore and when you ask on-the-side they give a generous amount too. We share one salad so the portion is great without breaking your wallet (probably cheaper to get their salad than making your own). I like their salads more than souplantion's. That's how good it is (probably because souplantation doesn't offer ham or turkey and you have to pay extra for chicken). The Place is kinda small, but we always take it back to my house to eat anyways cause its just down the street. So overall, it's our #1 place to get salads. read more

I love supporting family owned businesses. I always order the Turkey Club with extra bacon. Yes that's right extra bacon. The ladies behind the counter are very generous for with their bacon(well worth the cost) and it makes the sandwich even more delicious. What makes it delicious is the bacon is at the right crisp and not burnt. In addition, their meatball subs are really good to. Price wise it is comparable to the big chains with their mediocre sandwiches. I will have to tried the other subs and elaborate more in my next review of DW Subs. read more

Out doing home visits in an area I'm not familiar with. Found this little gem on Yelp. Mom and pop type shop, located in the very corner of the shopping center. The staff was super friendly. I ordered a chicken salad sub. The young lady taking my order made sure to tell me what was in their chicken salad. It's made with honey mustard, walnuts, and pineapple. They had me at walnuts and pineapple. Seriously the BEST chicken salad I've ever had. It's not how I make chicken salad but it may be the way I start making it! read more

I used go go here a lot when I worked nearby many years ago and have since moved from the area . I had forgotten about this place until it came up in a conversation with a friend, so I decided to make the trek back. It is still just as good as I remembered it! Fresh quality ingredients,delicious,and fantastic service as well. It's a small little gem nearly hidden in the corner of a shopping center and if you didn't know it was there you could easily pass it by. This was my first time here and I by the looks of it assume this was a privately owned business. I went there to sign a petition, so I decided, while I was there, I would try a sandwich. But, I did find a problem that the owners (staff) we're not wearing masks (as I was). After ordering my sandwich, I additionally, noticed that the woman, making my sandwich, was not wearing any gloves, either, and I should have told her "never mind" immediately, but instead I paid for my sandwich, ate a few bites of it and then noticed that it didn't have "fresh" sliced tomatoes or lettuce in it....instead they looked like they were leftover, from the previous day(s) and to get a slice of cheese I had to pay extra for it. After a couple of bites I just threw it away, because, with everything going on, I just couldn't bring myself to eat it considering the way it was made and the fact that "none of the staff" cared enough to wear a mask (or wear gloves while preparing some else's food) as I would do, for the safety of others and simple hygiene! read more
