I was craving some shaved ice and I found this place on Yelp. This place did not disappoint!! The cashier was really friendly and helped pick a size. They offered 4 different sizes: mini, baby, hungry, and a plate. They had lots of flavors to choose from!! With vegan options too. They also had a list of toppings and drizzles (at an additional cost). I tried for a Thai tea shaved ice in a mini cup with regular Mochi (+75 cents). The mini cup cost $4.99 and feed me and my boyfriend. I was a little disappointed in the amount of Mochi I received for the toppings (that's why I gave 4 stars) but the shaved ice was delicious! Came to Celebrate my Grandaughters 10th birthday after the Pirate show. I have never been to a place like this and was not sure what to expect. We don't have one in San Diego that I know of. Yum! Perfect for dessert, this is my favorite kind of shaved ice/snow. Prices are suitable and they have three different sizes! They also have a nice amount of toppings and flavors to choose from, more than other shaved ice places I've gone too. However, it is not self serve and you do not pay by weight you pay by size. Orders were served out by calling out the flavor you orders, could get confusing if other guests order the same as you but luckily it wasn't busy at the time. This is such a cute little shaved snow shop! I don't know why I haven't been here before (considering I'm in this shopping center all the time) but I am definitely going to be here often! They offer a great variety of flavors to make the shaved snow. Some dairy free and some dairy-FULL. I got the horchata snow and it was super good. Tasted just like the drink! The snow is just that! Light and powdery. Just the best refreshing sweet little treat I was hankering for. They have a bar of toppings similar to yogurland. Fresh fruits, a variety of cereals, mini candies... etc. The shaved snow isn't the only thing on the menu though, they also offer milk teas and coffees (lattes and such). The snow is also pairs on plates to make the treat a bit more indulgent. They offer waffles and cake slices that pair well with certain flavors of the snow. There are so many shaved ice establishments popping up all over the place and the competition is fierce! I cannot compare Snow Station to any of its competitors because I do not have the desire to give anyone else a try! I discovered Snow Station a couple of years ago in Tustin but I have yearned for a location to open up closer to where I live! I was so excited to see this location open up in Buena Park! Snow Station is a place in which your taste buds will go into overdrive! There are endless combinations that you can make as you let your imagination go wild! They offer more than just a variety of shaved ice flavors! They've stepped it up a notch to offer creations that you'd find at an ice cream parlor: sundaes, macaroon ice cream sandwiches, and banana splits... all made with shaved ice!!!!! Pound cake can be purchased in slices or you can integrate it into your own snow cream creation. Several toppings are available to include: gummy bears, chocolate chips, marshmallows etc. They also offer fruit so that you can attempt to make your dessert a bit healthier! What makes the shaved ice phenomenon so amazing is how light it is! It looks heavy when placed on a large plate but as you take your first bite, it literally melts in your mouth. I don't know how many calories are in each serving based on its size but I never leave feeling like I've put on 5 pounds after enjoying a delicious treat. As time goes by, you'll notice that your fluffy snow creation seems to shrink and become a little deflated. Hurry up and eat your dessert because it's beginning to melt. It's not to obvious because you can't see the liquid substance forming on your plate or within your bowl. I was sad to see Berry Cool close down. It was my favorite froyo place. But I'm glad it's been replaced by an equivalent frozen dessert place. I always liked the shaved snow at Snow Station in Westminster, the original location, but couldn't stand the long lines and wait. It's also rather far from where I live so I eventually stopped going. This one is much closer so it will be much more convenient for me to get my shaved snow fix. For those that are not familiar with Snow Station it serves nothing but shaved snow and shaved snow products. There are no boba drinks or food here. I did notice this location has macaron and macaron sandwiches with shaved snow in the center. I didn't see this at the Westminster location but maybe it's a new thing they're doing. If you are new to shaved snow, it's flavored ice shaved into fine powder or sheet (this one is in fine powder form). It's different from shaved ice which is just regular ice shaved into powder with flavored syrup added at the end. And please don't try to compare shaved snow to an ice cream. If you do, you will be disappointed. Shaved snow is never going to be as creamy or rich in flavor as an ice cream. It's a much lighter frozen dessert with a fluffy texture. Speaking of which, to truly enjoy shaved snow texture, you have to dine in so they can put it on a plate versus putting it in a to go bowl. The bowl will squash the snow and make it lose its fluffiness. It may be a visual thing but it seems like there's lot more snow when they serve it on a plate. Every shaved snow place seem to have the same process for ordering and Snow Station is no exception - pick a shaved snow flavor and size, choose toppings, then choose a syrup/drizzle. You can skip the toppings and syrup if you want but it's already included in the price so you might as well add them. There are three sizes to choose from. Mini bear is $3.25 and you can add one topping and a syrup of choice. Baby bear and hungry bear are $5.25 and $7.25, respectively and you can add two toppings and a syrup. You can add additional toppings for $0.50 each. For me, the baby bear size was big enough. It looked more like a fat baby bear that ate hungry bear's food. It won't look like much when you get it in a to go bowl, but on a plate it looks like there's twice more. There were 19 shaved snow flavors as of today but they may change from time to time. I noticed the flavor choices were slightly different from the Westminster location. I won't list every single flavor but my favorites are taro, green tea, horchata, coconut, and almond. Today I also tried salted caramel which I haven't seen in shaved snow before. The flavor was pretty good but I think it could've used little more salt. I am going to try peanut butter flavor next time because I haven't seen this at the other location either. Syrup choices are condensed milk, chocolate, white chocolate, honey, strawberry, and caramel. I go with condensed milk on almost every shaved snow regardless of flavor It's a rather neutral flavor so it goes well with everything. I can't comment much on toppings because I couldn't see them until I got to the register to place my order. This is a big flaw in the layout of this place and annoyed the crap out of me. It was bad enough at Westminster location but this location is even worse because you can't even take a quick glance before you get to the register. They really should list the toppings on the menu monitor so people can decide what they want for toppings before they get to the register to place the order. It's fine when the place is slow, but during busy times it's really going to back up the line. Just know that wet toppings are on the left side of the counter, like boba, popping boba, jelly, fruits, etc., and dry toppings like mochi, chocolate chips, granola, etc., are on the right side of the counter. They sell individual macarons and macaron sandwiches but I haven't tried these yet. I'm curious to see how they pack shaved snow into the sandwich because it doesn't seem like there will be enough density in a shaved snow to hold together in a sandwich. After all, shaved snow is suppose to be fluffy. I saw a spicy salted caramel macaron flavor so I am definitely going to have to give this a try next time. Snow Station is in my top 5 list of shaved snow places but is in the bottom of the list because its choice of toppings is rather weak compared to places like Salju and Blockheads. The toppings look very typical of what you'd find at self serve froyo places like Yogurtland. It's also on the pricey side. Comparable size to baby bear is about $4-$4.75 at other locations. Regardless, it's still my favorite shaved snow place in this area since there aren't too many. read more

You can pick from 3 sizes: Mini Bear = Small, Baby Bear=Medium and Hungry Bear=Large. Next, Shave Snow Flavors.. uh there are like gazillions of them.. what I mean by gazillion I mean 19 flavors.. Honestly, that is a lot of a shaved snow place. Even Class 302 doesn't have 19 flavors. Then, pick a syrup. I always opt of the condensed milk. Lastly, pick a topping like cereal, fruit, nuts, etc... FYI: Syrup isn't considered a topping. (Watch out for the cashier mistakenly trying to charge you for that b/c she did but good thing we caught it before we paid.) The TASTE. I got the green tea shaved snow. The reason why I like the green tea shaved snow is because you can actually taste the matcha flavor and it isn't overly sweet. I love the thick texture. I have been to many shaved snow places that are like snow station and the part I get disappointed is the thin texture. That thin sleet texture is like killer for the longevity of your shaved snow. What is there not to like about shaved snow? It is one of the greatest dessert inventions to ever come to the United States. What is shaved snow you asked? Well, I am not quite sure how to explain it myself, its is like light and fluffy ice cream. The ice cream is in a round disk shape, it is placed on a slicer of sorts, imagine like an up right deli slicer. The "snow" is then shaved into a bowl and you can then add toppings to it. My first experience with shaved snow was at a snow station in a different part of Orange County. When I found out about this one being so close to me I was super excited (I still get excited when I go get some snow). I have never had any problems with customer service here, everyone has always been super nice and welcoming whenever I come. Parking can be a hassle if you come during peak times as there are many businesses around the area. Also inside there are not too many tables so it can get packed in there as well. So what do I usually get? I do not have a favorite as I like to mix it up when it comes to the snow. Mango, Green Tea and Strawberry are always good, but really I do not think that you can go wrong here. The toppings range from fruits such as strawberries, to nuts like almonds, popping boba, mochi of all kinds, syrups and condensed milk!
