DISHONEST, OVERPRICED and shady business practices. The mechanic here is aggressive, pushy, and rude. If you do not agree to their repairs right away, they get hostile fast. They lie by claiming they will check out the car before telling you the cost of repairs, but then they claim you owe them hundreds of dollars out of nowhere and already START on the repair and take parts out WITHOUT EVEN TELLING YOU FIRST so you are pressured into paying! On top of that, they try to pressure you into additional unnecessary repairs by making everything sound urgent. I feel sorry for the people they take advantage of on a daily basis. The mechanic/Owner goes above and beyond with customer service. I've been going to them for some time now and I'm absolutely committed to going back for all my auto needs. They're very thorough and go out of their way to explain what they're doing and what I'm paying for. I've tried other places since I relocated to the DMV and have been disappointed with the service and up charge. E&M auto is much cheaper than other places, better service, and convenient. I been at this place several times before. I get regular maintenance at this place and have been coming here since December 2015. Eddie is the owner and is a good guy. Harry and the rest of the staff are great as well. The shop is on the opposite side of the gas station so if you don't look carefully you will miss it. The hourly rate is affordable. The parking is good most times and the lobby is cool. They have a coffee machine and a tv in there for all the bored and sleep people. I never had to wait too long for service. Eddie and the staff are very informative and they are honest people. This is the main reason why I like doing business with them. I never had to complaint, however, I'm d ont like filling out the paper form every time I need work. That's my opinion. Besides that, keep up the good work. read more

Honest, flexible and will bend over backwards to help you. Even saved me some money a couple times. Like hundreds. I got 2 quotes and he told me why his quote was so much lower. We needed the work for inspection to sell the car. The other shop told me we needed to repair something that was like $700. He cleaned it up and saved us the money. E&M Auto Repair was referred to me by friends. I was telling my friends how frustrated I was with the dishonest mechanics I was dealing with for years. They stated "Go to Edwin". I have been taking my cars to E&M Auto Repair for about four years now and I have never taken any of my cars back for the same problem. I owned a two door 1996 Honda Accord and the driver's window would not go up or down, I indicated the window motor needed to be replaced, Edwin stated "I would have to take the door panel off and see, I asked for an estimate, Edwin said about $300.00 later that day the mechanics call and said "nothing is wrong with your window motor it was a little rubber piece that needed to be replaced and he had one in the shop", I asked "how much does that cost" the Mechanics stated "about $80.00" when I got there to pick up the car my bill was $60.00. Avoid this place unless you know enough about cars to be a mechanic yourself. I came here to get one problem resolved, a squeaking noise that seems to happen when I start my car in the morning. I give my car to them and ask for an estimate. They come back and give me a huge list of problems as well as stating which have to do with my squeaking problem while going into a huge spiel of specialized knowledge that I can't follow. I ask them to fix whichever has to do with the squeaking problem and give me an estimate on the rest when I leave. They bring out my car, tell me its done and I drive it home. Next day I start my car and not only is there still a squeaking noise but now my check engine light is on. I take it back and say the problem is still there and now the check engine light is on and drop my car off with them. I come back and the manager Edwin Diaz say that the check engine light has been resolved and that the squeaking noise will require more work on the muffler. To their credit they did not charge me the second time. At this point I decide to get a second opinion and take it to another shop. Soon the check engine light is back and I take it to another shop. Within a few minutes they explain that I have to have a few belts replaced and it has nothing to do with the muffler. I come back to the shop and ask for my money back since they did not resolve the issue and the manager Edwin Diaz refuse. I will admit that I have little to no knowledge on the intricacies of cars or their problems so maybe they fixed another issue I was not aware of. However, if I go to a restaurant and order a steak dinner and get brought out some fish sticks, then ask for what I ordered, and get brought out chicken nuggets while then having my soda spilled on me I would expect an apology and my money back. Bottom line is I brought my car in to get a problem resolved and left twice with the problem unresolved and an additional problem on top of it. This is not acceptable trade for my money. read more

I had my car towed there because it wouldnt start i was told i needed wiring harnesses i'm sure now that i didn't need,now my car runs horrible, the odometer and tachometer doesn't work now which it did when it was towed don't waste your time or money like i did! read more

Never go here. When I came back to pick up my car at the specified time they hadn't even started it yet. I was dumb enough to let them go ahead and start. I should have just left then. I ended up wasting 2 hours waiting for a simple oil change that should have taken 30 mins. And they charged me nearly ten dollars more than they quoted me. At this point I was so far behind schedule I didn't even take the time to argue with the obnoxious girl at the register. read more

I get a lot of work done on cars, as I've had a job that keeps me on the road for the last 16 years. As scary as it is going to any mechanic, these guys make it a little easier. They are efficient, competitively price, and knowledgeable. They have several bays allowing multiple cars to be serviced at once. I've had some other companies and dealerships try to take advantage of me and I usually bypass them, opting to have E&M do the work instead.
