I recently used Eagle Moving for a move from the Bay Area to Southern Cal. Joey provided a competitive quote over the phone based on a verbal estimate of what I needed to move from my 4 bedroom home. What went well: Movers arrived on time on the agreed upon loading day. The 4 guys that came were all polite, hardworking and generally very careful in handling the various items they were loading. In particular, George, the foreman was very professional and thorough. Same on the unloading - a few nicks, scratches and dents but that's almost to be expected from a 300 mile + trip down the I5. What didn't go so well: - Joey had significantly underestimated the amount of cargo space needed so a second truck was required. I highly recommend you do either an in-person estimate or complete the on-line inventory of goods to get a better estimate. - There was a misunderstanding regarding the delivery time and the truck arrived ~ 7 hours later than expected. This created significant additional stress to the unloading process. - The additional truck resulted in a final bill that was ~ 40% higher than my original quote! After calling the new owner, Steve, he immediately apologized for the misunderstanding in the timing of the delivery and also issued me a credit for ~ 1/2 of the additional charges above the original quote which I think was fair. I would use Eagle again in the future but would definitely get an in-person quote done first to ensure a more accurate estimate of cargo space needed. Steve E. Orange County, CA read more

Glad to share my experience with Eagle. We had some 24 inch box trees we needed moved from a nursery to our home. They contacted us and we made the arrangements very quickly. We had already purchased the trees, so Eagle went to the nursery without us and everything went very smoothly. The trees were delivered on time, as promised, no a single branch was damaged. There are truly no words that can capture just how WONDERFUL the whole team at Eagle movers are, from Joey the owner, to John who answers the phones (in addition to Joey), to the moving team! I searched long and hard for exceptional movers. I searched for OVER a month, searching through yelp and different referral sources, as well as craigslist, and I put the word out to my various communities that I was looking for a mover. I interviewed 10 different companies in depth, and I was surprised (sometimes shocked) at how expensive they were. And then a woman in my community reached out and personally recommended Eagle movers, telling me they had moved her twice and had done a fantastic job both times! So I called them and began my interview process. I noticed immediately how reasonable their rates were compared to the other companies I had interviewed, and John and Joey were both very patient and clear and answered each of my questions about the charges so I would know exactly how they operate. And that is just the beginning of how truly wonderful Eagle movers are. I was going through the most painful time of my entire life, and needing to move out of a large 5 bedroom house, and was working with many complicated challenges and a LOT of stress. I had to move the date of the move several times. Joey (the owner) spoke with me personally again and again, and came from a place of deep genuine care and compassion. And when I say that, I mean he called me just to check on me to make sure I was doing ok BEFORE the move. It brings tears to my eyes writing this, and feeling how much his care helped me get through what was in many ways a brutal process. Every step of the way he made sure I was taken care of by his team. And when they arrived on the big moving day, they arrived on time, and each person on the team brought a calming presence. I had 4 men on the team, and each one listened to me carefully, and followed my instructions carefully. The house was in the Berkeley hills with many steps, and they moved each item with care, placed them in the truck with care, and also unloaded them with care at the new location that also had stairs. And then we took the rest of my stuff to storage. Each step of the way the men treated me and my belongings with the utmost care, and even made it a JOY to receive their help and support. I was able to laugh with them and feel at ease and like everything was going to be ok. And when it was all over, Joey checked in with my by phone and email, to make sure I was ok, knowing what a challenging time I was navigating. He is a wonderful human being with a HUGE heart, who really cares about people. I hired them to do a second move which was equally wonderful, and I would only hire them in the future. I have recommended them to 4 friends who have all used them, and I have the most beautiful messages still on my phone from my friends telling me how grateful they were for me referring them to Eagle and what a wonderful experience they had. Wow! Moving is generally a very stressful and challenging process, and having GREAT movers is a life changing experience. This was by far the best moving experience I have had , and I have had many! Joey was exceptionally friendly when I called to request a quote and the rates were the best I could find for a 4 man crew. I was moving with a 2 year old and a 7 month pregnant wife so I was anxious to get lots of quality help. Ben and his crew arrived early. They were friendly , kind and patient with us. They didn't let my wife touch anything and high fived our two year old when he was around. They worked hard -- a 9 hr job. Let's just start this by saying that the Eagle team was AWESOME right from the beginning!! I have moved many times and have come to expect and accept a nightmare of a move. That was not the case with Eagle. They were courteous and prompt in providing me with a quote, detailed the costs involved and answered all my questions. They contacted me before my move and on the moving day they called to let me know when they would arrive. They were punctual, went over the quote and the items being moved. Despite living on a fourth floor with no elevator, the crew was efficient and careful. They loaded everyting fast without damaging the items or the building I was moving from. I was so impressed with my movers from Eagle. They were recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I used their services. They were professional, efficient, polite, and overall a pleasure to work with. Moving can be so stressful, I truly appreciated not having to worry about things with them. They handled everything carefully while also moving quickly. They completed a 3 part move for me in 3.5 hours! The booking process was also easy and relieved a lot of stress- they confirmed by email immediately after booking and also sent another confirmation email the day before the move. I had Eagle Movers help me with my move from Silicon Valley to the Delta area they were GREAT!!!! I am a VERY picky lady so to give five stars is normally un heard of for me. I spoke with Steve (the owner many times) he sent his estimator out to access the items and yes the price did go up after he saw everything I had (the best guest Steve could give me over the phone was not the price the move could be done for) the estimator came back about a week before my move and said no problem they could do what I needed - which was a 3 bedroom 2 bath house and LARGE garden items - plants, stock tank pool, multi tables and lounge furniture. They came to the house on time at 9:00am did a great job worked hard and fast my lead guy was Debi - VERY GOOD. Everyone was, nice, professional, and helped with what ever I needed. I was moved into my home (with horrible traffic) by 6:00 all in one day!!!! But remember it is your job to be ready! These guy are to help you move items that are ready to go if your not ready and you said you would be then Yes it will cost more because now you need more time from Eagle Movers by prepared these guys are great!!! Gosh, these guys were really awful. They did not take care of my belongings: broke things, damaged furniture. They deeply scratched up my hardwood floors in my bedroom, hallway and dining room-I've had at least 20 contractors in and out of my house remodeling and none of them have damaged my floors like these guys did moving 4 pieces of furniture. They charged my $100 in "moving supplies" and took 6 hours for 3 guys to move a lingerie chest, a small bathroom cabinet, a nightstand, a dining room table and 4 chairs, 2 file cabinets, 2 rugs pre-bagged, a sectional couch, a mattress, patio table and chairs and about 40 boxes. I've used another company with 2 men who moved everything I owned-at least double this amount in about 4 hours with no extra charges. Oh, then they forgot my BBQ from the item list on the patio. When I emailed the owner to explain these problems, he never apologized, never offered to rectify any of the damages... just made excuses or denied my experiences could have possibly been true. I now have floor damages that would cost $3000 to fix properly in a house I am trying to get ready to sell next week and a BBQ that I have to pay someone else to pick up and bring to our new residence. Unbelievable.... please save yourself headache and $$$ and go with a more professional company. *** update.. the owner contacted me and did apologize for the damages... but then accused me of exaggerating the damages. So I offered an estimate of the costs to fix my floors and pictures, he said that he couldn't prove that someone else hadn't damaged them. No one is living in the house now, and the scratches weren't there when they walked in. Just ridiculous, unprofessional and childish. Additionally, he sent me the invoice showing the material cost- $65 for wrap for my couch and $45 for 3 moving boxes to wrap a small cabinet. Both of which I had on hand if I had been informed of the charge. This company is very shady. Choose wisely. read more

I hired Eagle Moving, and they (Angel, Prince, and Phil) were fantastic. They communicated with me about their arrival time and were on time. They wrapped my furniture with a lot of care, put the clothes from my closet into wardrobe boxes (and even hung them up at the place I moved to). They're hard workers and nice guys. They didn't damage anything (not even a nick) and even advised me where to put some of my furniture at its destination (decorating tips too?!). They also made a stop at my storage unit to bring some boxes, and they carefully loaded and stacked everything in the unit. Even with that stop, the move took less time than expected, and the total even came out to be less than quoted. I can't recommend them enough. Three thumbs up. read more

Do not use this moving company! Save yourself the hassle. First of all, the movers were 8 HOURS late to pick up my things, and they were drunk. They also promised that all of our things would fit, and on site they said there was no room and we had to pay double. On top of this, we were told they would drive our things (NY to LA) and hold them there until we were ready. However, now they tell us that our things have been sitting in New Jersey this whole month, and it will take 2 weeks to get them to LA. This has been a complete mess, and a waste of money. read more

We needed help moving down 2 floors in our apartment building. We actually only expected the movers to move our larger items, but they ended up taking all of ploys packed items to the new apartment. Only needed 3 and a half hours to move pretty much our whole apartment into our new one. Price was the best in the area, I'd recommend using this company for your moving needs. read more

Word can't describe how great was the service and care I received from Joey and his wonderful crew moving is very stressful and I needed help with everything from packing to a temp storage till my place was ready . I reached out to few local companies but I revived bids that I felt were astronomical till this guy and his foreman met with me . Moving is never enjoyable but Eagle movers helped make it as painless and stress free as possible. I booked weeks in advance and it was great to get a confirmation call earlier in the week confirming details. Jorge and Mike were on time, efficient and very careful with my items. They helped package up valuables and their clothes wardrobe boxes were terrific (no extra charge). Before I could even think about collecting all of clothes they had my entire closet boxed up! Eagle movers are unreliable and do not follow through! Yeah they're cheap but don't be fooled- don't do it! Read all the one star reviews below notice how much they have in common. They will not provide you updates unprompted so you will sit there and wait for them to arrive in their four hour window. It is 7PM on a Friday night and they canceled using the excuse that I called for too many updates when they were hours late. I was trying to schedule a friend to help manage my move because it was getting so late before my Night Shift but couldn't seem to get a straight answer on timing. It kept getting later and later beyond each estimate they gave me. I believe this company over books it's poor movers and it seems to be a tossup as to whether you get good service or crappy service. I spoke to the slimy temperamental owner Joey Avi who makes false promises then cancels your move on a whim. He also talks right through you If you call so the whole thing is pretty much a waste of time. (See if the reviews down below where he tried to pay someone to take down their yelp review and called her a fat old lady) Moving is already stressful don't let this guy mess with you... or, Book them if you want to play roulette with your move. I found Eagle Moving and Storage from a post on craigslist. I then went on to read the yelp reviews and went ahead and requested a quote. The online quote system was easy to manage and I got a call within 1-2 days to discuss details of the move. My move was a inter SF move, about 7 miles. I had 1 bedroom worth of stuff. I went for the $79 for 2 mover package. The minimum was 3 hours. I scheduled the move date 3 weeks in advance and got a call the night prior to confirm the move. I had to give my credit card number to book the move before hand. They did not charge me at that point in time. On the morning of the move the movers were 30 minutes early. 2 nice guys who had me sign over the contract and I gave them details of what was to be moved. It really helps to have everything all packed up. I used zippgo's green plastic boxes which helps emensly since they have amazing handles and allow movers to carry more weight over a box. They also have amazing wardrobe boxes that made the transfer of my closet a breeze. It took 40 minutes to move all my stuff to the truck and 30 minutes to drive to the new location. The drive counts as double time, so that means if the drive took 30 minutes, it will count as 1 hour against your move. Keep this in mind. In the new place they helped me remove the old items in the room to the curb to be picked up by the city via recyclemyjunk.com program and moved all the items it. All in all the move took about 2 hours and 50 minutes when counting the double travel time. If I didn't prep the move the way I did I would have definitely went over original 3 hours by an hour or so. I had a great experience and would use Eagle moving again for my next move. read more

Working with Eagle moving is truly a pleasure. Quick respond, easy communication, transparent pricing, nice attitude and most importantly they are so punctual. My task was simple. I need some professionals to pick up a 69"x8" front door with side lights and transom and deliver it to a job site. When I contacted with the owner, Matt, unlike other companies only provided me with hourly rate, he offered a flat rate which makes the whole budgeting a lot easier. He offered the open slots he had immediately and broke down how many hours their team might need including the traffic and loading. Once we achieved an oral agreement, Matt sent me a contract and explained how they collect the payment. On the day they provided services, the lead man, Debi, gave me a heads-up that the traffic was worse than expected but he promised to give me a more accurate EAT later on and he did. Turned out the door was delivered within the original open window and being perfectly placed on a secured place. Mission completed! No surprises at all, just a very satisfied customer. We hired Eagle to help us move across the city this past weekend and were generally satisfied with their service. Of all the places I called last minute who had openings to move on the date I needed, they were the cheapest. We had everything ready to go when they showed up, I thought we'd done a good job labeling which boxes contained fragile things, but regardless a number of our things still got pretty banged up. Initially we were pretty pissed that they broke at least one foot on every piece of stereo equipment we had, and the corner of a dresser. But in the end we were just thankful that everything still worked. overall, it ended up taking an hour longer than we expected, which was a bummer, but we were so grateful not to be lugging heavy furniture up two flights of stairs on a hot day that we didn't really mind. In retrospect, we probably should have done more to oversee how things were being handled. I'm not sure why, but almost all our boxes came in upside down, which I hadn't been counting on so a lot of things were in a huge state of disarray, especially the boxes with kitchen stuff. Overall the guys were friendly, but next time i'll probably go with a more expensive service. read more
