Going to do a quick review of these guys, since they did a great job on my move from San Jose up to the city. Spoke with Joey to get quotes, and review services, since I travel a lot and may need some help on the packing end, as well as the move. He seemed easy to work with, and interested in providing me with exactly the kind of tailored service(s) I needed for our move. We got the date and time set, with no packing included in the original order, assuming I would be able to get all that done beforehand. Two weeks before my move, I had to go out on a business trip again, so I called Joey back to see what was involved in some packing help. We negotiated a price for some help, not knowing exactly what I'd be able to have done or not, by the time the movers arrived. I did manage to get a lot of packing done before my move date arrived, but there were some final things that still needed to be rounded up, not the least of it the televisions and technology, and some artwork. Being only a small place, my 2-man crew (Jeff and ??? (sorry, forgot the name)) arrived on time to help with the packing. They seemed conscientious about my things, packing and wrapping things to avoid damage, and boxing stuff up. I was on the 2nd floor (stairs) so I know the pack out to the truck was a bit of a pain, but no one complained, and I did watch to see if things got banged up a bit in the transfer, but nothing seemed to, as it went in to the truck. On the destination end, being the first floor, the unloading seemed to go fairly smoothly. Everything was well labeled as to what rooms to put stuff in, and I directed what was not clear. I did order a pizza, since it was late in the afternoon, so everyone could get a little food in them while unpacking the truck. It took a little more time than I planned, but most of that was traffic from the old place to the new. All in all, I was pleased and would use these guys again. I didn't find any damage to speak of, other than in one box I packed myself, somewhat lazily, so I'm likely to blame for that. I have read various reviews here, and find it a little odd that people from out of state are reviewing this company poorly, given they only operate in the SF and surrounding area. I didn't see any surliness with my crew, and Joey seemed genuinely interested in working with me and making me happy with my move. read more

We had several problems with Eagle they broke a glass in our hutch,after they left we unpacked our flat screen tv it was all busted up inside the packing looked intact we even payed extra for additional packing,the last problem was our bed I noticed 8 special screws on the night stand I believe they were for brackets to the bed frame because the bed was no longer as stable,I called Eagle several times each time they said they would get back to me never happened. read more

This review is way overdue, but better a little late, than never is what I say... Wow...What can I say about this establishment other than they are "out standing in their field!" I hate moving, and my Husband thinks he knows everything about moving, which led to a lot of disagreements about him handling the move. So one day when I'm driving down Delores Street, I see an Eagle Moving and Storage truck....When I get home I Google Eagle Moving & Storage, and call them. I found their Customer Service to be very nice, courteous, informative, and they are reasonably priced to boot! Little late on the review, I had Eagle Moving & Storage pack my household goods and store for me a couple years back. 1. They use this really cheap brown tape to hold things together. It deterioriates quickly and is IMPOSSIBLE to get off of furniture. I'm still working on tape that's stuck to my furniture today. If you don't want this to happen to your furniture, I would recommend providing your own packing tape and asking them not to use theirs. 2. They packed some of the boxes i provided only about 30% full. This filled up the truck and boxes quicker and resulted in some smushed goods. Moving was good though, so if you want it to go better, would advise packing your own boxes. 3. I finally got life slowed down enough to call them and Joey took my comments about the tape and damage well and sent me a sum of money to compensate me for my time. This was appreciated. read more

A friend of ours referred us to Eagle to help with a move. My girlfriend and I are extremely happy with their service. The crew of 4 guys showed up on time and did a fantastic job getting my 3 bedroom apartment moved from Milpitas to a new condo in San Jose. They were able to knock my move out in under 6 hours. This was under what they quoted which was awesome. (*Note, we packed everything ourselves and had almost all boxes lined up and organized for them to take away... this really helps.) They did not scratch or damage any walls in the new place which was a big concern of ours. Our new location has tight corners and 3 flights of stairs. Our business has used Eagle Moving several times in the past two years. We have relied on them to move our heavy equipment from one location to another. This most recent move involved moving equipment and stored items from our small warehouse here in our office, to a large off-site storage facility. They also stuck around and rearranged everything here exactly to my liking without hesitation. My finance and I moved from our studio apartment in North Beach to a one bedroom apartment in Emeryville. The move took a total of 5 hours. The longest part was wrapping the tv and furniture. They did such an amazing job! Nothing was damaged or stratched. I had 3 young gentlemen (Lamar, Rob and Kana) that assisted us with the move! They were fast, efficient and very hard working. They were very genuine and kind hearted people. They quickly evaluated the situation and throughly explained the process to us. We bought them bagels and coffee because we saw how hard they were working. I would definitely recommend their service again!! Highly professional young college students just trying to pay off college. Their pricing is fair and pretty standard compared to other places I've checked out. Like most people I try to bribe my friends with booze and food to help me move though I knew that going from one second story to another second story was not going to make/keep any friends of mine. After researching a few companies, Eagle is who I went with. Really satisfied that I did. There was no hidden charges, no upsells when the crew got there and even offered free use of waredrobe boxes (HUGE PLUS when you have THREE closets) John and Joey in the office were really helpful and professional. Financially and physically it was worth every dime. The morning of the move it was suppose to rain/snow but thankfully it was sunny but just chilly. The moving crew arrived early and after a quick tour of the place they got started. I had prepacked alot of the stuff and they packed/wrapped the furniture as necessary. The crew was professional, efficient and nothing suffered accept a $2.00 bottle of some food item. My bad as we packed the box in the most inefficent way possible. What was important to me was that my husband's big screen make it from point A to point B in one piece and that my furniture didn't suffer anything. They finished within the estimated time and overall the crew rocked. I could joke with them and they joked right back. They were all easy going and accomodating to some of my little requests. I was really hesitant to hire movers as I have heard some crazy horror stories of movers showing up super late, breaking stuff, over charging, etc... Got none of that from these guys. I was referred to this company by a good friend, who moved from Oakland to Pennsylvania. I was moving from Moraga to Cincinnati and since my friend did a lot of research and I trust her completely, I decided not to call anyone else. Last week (Monday Feb 19, 2018) the moving truck came. There were three guys and they were kind and respectful and did a great job packing my furniture in blankets, putting my artwork in boxes and loading up everything else I packed. All my goods were in good shape, and many items were brand new as I staged my house with items I bought. I was taken back by the extra charges for the boxes ($18 for a box) but I decided to let it go as my paintings were safely packed. I was being told that my items would be transferred to a larger a truck, along with other households and the truck would make several stops along the way before arriving in Cincinnati. I called several times and couldn't get an ETA even though the truck had left. I was worried as I needed to go on a business trip and wanted to make sure I was there to receive the goods. I also called about the charges. When I signed the contract, I was being told that they would give me an estimate of the weight of the goods, as you would be charged by the pound ($0.75 per pound), and then the goods would be weight in the the truck once loaded. I did a good job minimizing the load so that I would hopefully not have to pay the full estimate. However, one the goods were on its way I was being told the estimate was the minimum charge and that even if the load was less, I wouldn't get any money back. I would have to pay extra if the load was over. Joey, one of the the two people at Eagle couldn't remember how much the actual weight was by "probably 50 or 100 pound under the estimate." I felt that things were not clear when I signed the contract, and that I thought the estimate was just that, an estimate, but I decided not to fight it and let it go. After several emails and calls regarding a possible ETA, I got a text from the driver two days before the goods were to be delivered. The truck arrived Wednesday February 28. I decided to rent a storage units and the driver arrived at 2:30PM. I stopped before the gate and told me to pay him the cash for the remainder of the fee ($1355). I wished I would have demanded the goods first but I didn't expect anything to be wrong. Btw, the name on the truck was Dumbo Moving & Storage - www.dumbomove.com. When we got to the storage unit the driver opened the door and I got a big pit in my stomach. I saw several ripped boxes and many dented. Well, it turned into a nightmare. Many of my goods were broken and damaged. Holes in the bottom of my couch, puncture holes in my new box spring, glasses broken, paintings and mirrors broken, legs broken from my bedside table, and on and on. You will see from the pictures that my stuff had literally been thrown in the the truck, as even many of the moving blankets where ripped and damaged. This doesn't just accidentally happens. I was literally in tears when they unloaded my stuff. The drivers kept saying that they didn't load the goods and that it wasn't their fault, but that had to be a lie. They just dropped off a "household" in Atlanta, so they must have moved the goods after each drop off because my stuff was by the door. When I called Eagle Moving I talked to John who said "Joey will call you right back." No one called so I called them again a little later and Joey was completely condescending. He was upset that I didn't seem to listen to him "lady I am trying to help you." His tone of voice was so not kind. I hang up on him and now I'm pursuing a claim with them. Please don't ever use this company, or Dumbo, as all your stuff will be damaged and / or broken. Luckily most of it can be replaced but I have never felt so violated. read more

I spent one whole day doing research on interstate movers for our move from Oakland to Tacoma, WA. From the first phone call, Joey Avi impressed me. He quoted me based on weight rather than cubic feet for our load. He told me how much more accurate this is because they weigh the empty truck through a third party, email the certificate, then weigh again after loading and email that certificate. No wondering if they are honest. It's all right there. They quoted me per pound, which seemed much better to me. Anthony and a couple of helpers wrapped everything in blankets. Because my apartment manager was such a hardass she would not let them park anywhere near the door, they had to trundle my stuff to an elevator, down to the ground floor and then about a block away where they were able to park the truck. Not only did they not charge me more for the extended time this took, they didn't even comment on it. They just said, "We do whatever it takes." They were absolutely wonderful. I told Eagle that I had a disabled son and that he would be arriving the day after I asked for the delivery. It would be a catastrophe if there was no furniture because we had no place to stay in the new city and my son would experience tremendous stress without his stuff. The move was stressful enough and I didn't want him to decompensate and have to be hospitalized as part of the move. Joey Avi listened to me and made it a priority to have my stuff delivered on the very day I requested. He managed that by getting a small truck to move just our stuff rather than wait for a space on a larger load. Again, we were not charged extra for this consideration. Hence the five stars. IMO, the moving business is like the trash hauling business in New Jersey, it is loaded with shady characters. I would never use anyone but Eagle for a move--hopefully I won't ever need them, but I wanted to let the public know how pleased I was with this company. (PS. nothing was broken) read more

I just finished moving a family of 5, over 200 miles, from a 4 bedroom house with yard and garage, into a 3 bedroom apt. Every step of the move has been stressful and taxing on the family. But these guys helped get us over the finish line in less than 3 hours. Jr and his crew worked quick and got everything in with no problems. They are super friendly, reliable, and the whole experience with Eagle was one of the very few things that went well with the move. These guys did a great job. This was a local move...only one mile, but we had some large furniture and even for such a short move they wrapped everything in those moving blankets. Even though they were paid by the hour, they worked quickly and efficiently. I hired 4 guys, they were all professional and friendly. I would totally recommend them. The only thing they didn't do was cover the floors with some protection, but I didn't care because we were getting the old carpets cleaned anyway. I'm sure if I asked, they would have covered the floors. Moving sucks no matter how you look at it, but having a good crew for this part helped make the day go better. good luck! read more

I had a good experience with Eagle moving. We were doing an in town move in San Francisco from our condo to new house. I mainly had some furniture and a few boxes. I called Eagle the day before the move and at first they didn't have availability due to the late notice but then later called back to say they were able to get another crew to do the move. They did a good job communicating with me which I appreciate. Other companies we called were less responsive. The crew arrived on time for the move which was important given the parking situation near our condo. There were three guys and they worked quickly. The padded al the furniture, took apart the items that needed to be made smaller and made sure to tie stuff down in the truck. The hard part of the move was that I live up four flights of stairs with no elevator. The money was well worth not having to do that myself. When arriving at the new place they placed the furniture and boxes where instructed. It all went smoothly. I feel it was a very good deal for the price, much better then other quotes we got (which is why we changed to them at the last minute). Also, on thing that helped us have a better experience I feel was that I was very well prepared for them when they arrived with everything easy to access and labeled. This will make their job easier so they can focus on being careful with your stuff as well as allow you to stay in the time window to keep the cost down. read more

We were moving within the city a couple months ago and didn't plan very well, so we called many different places to see whether they can take care of us. Almost all the major moving companies were able to accommodate us, but it seemed like most of them gave us high estimates because they sensed our desperation. However, Eagle seemed really honest and gave us a fair estimate, so we went with them. They helped us plan our move and told us how we should pack up our stuff. On the day of the move, they showed up right on time and worked really hard and moved very fast. They dropped off all of our heavy items, including a super heavy desk, and boxes efficiently. Nothing was damaged and they finished moving very fast. I've had bad experiences where movers moved very slowly, but Eagle was the opposite. They were professional and did a great job!! I think there's always room for improvement but honestly, I am so pleased with these guys! When I told people I was using a moving company they all warned me about the tricks these companies play on you and that I should expect to pay much more than the quoted price, they were going to break stuff etc. That didn't happen. None of that happened. I moved last Tuesday and firstly, John who worked with me over the phone was totally reliable, gave me a decent quote and was available on the day of the move just like he was when I got the quote. He really helped bring my stress level down. The movers came on time, they assessed the move and were very efficient in the way they organized it and they were courteous and nice! They wrapped my mattress and box spring, brought in a wardrobe box for my clothes and didn't gripe about the stairs. I didn't have to direct them on anything. And my beautiful but cheap and heavy bookcase with desk attachment made it without a scratch! On top of that, I've moved in with my Mom temporarily to help her out and her place is cluttered with narrow hallways. But there was no judgment and they handled it like pros and got me moved in under the 3 hour estimated time! I will definitely use these guys when I move again in a few months. Moving is never easy but these guys did everything they could to make it easy on me. I believe the movers names were Pablo, Pedro and Lamar. We had a 3 man team to unload 2 pods. They arrived on time. All 3 men were courteous, efficient and worked hard. They had a 3 hour minimum charge. They unloaded 2 pods and took the furniture and boxes upstairs and in the correct rooms in 2 hours 45 minutes. They didn't milk the clock for additional charges. They just worked and got it done with all our stuff undamaged. I wish I had them in Tennessee when we loaded our pods. We will definitely use them for moves in the future. read more

I used Eagle Moving, and was really impressed with this company from the top down. Steve, the owner, is a hands-on business owner who proactively deals with any issues that come up. My move went well, and I was very happy with the movers, Anthony and his crew. However, there was a misunderstanding with regard to the pricing. I communicated directly with Steve about it, and Steve made it right quickly, without making me feel bad about it.
