I am very reluctant to go to any new mechanic because they're always so unreliable. Andrew, both of them, were so helpful throughout my car's repairs. There was a slight delay getting my parts, and they could have price-gouged me for my rear drums, but they were honest and told me that they didn't need to be replaced. The shop always kept in close contact (I needed quite a bit of repairs), to discuss any concerns along the way. And they were spot-on with the repairs I needed. An amazing shop here with service that is highly recommended. When working with a customer like me that asks 1,000 questions, Andrew took the time to answer my questions and concerns. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I dropped my car off Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. to have my door lock actuators replaced. Later that day, I was informed that my brakes and rotors also needed to be replaced. On Friday, I called about an hour before closing for an update. Carrie told me, "They're working on your car right now. Everything else is done--they just have to put on the brakes." I asked if she thought it would be finished before they closed because I had to work at 7:00 a.m. the next morning. She told me she would do her best and assured me not to worry because there would be a way for me to pick up my car, even if she wasn't there. She never called. The next morning, I returned around 10:00 a.m. after receiving no update and found my car still on the lift. When I expressed my frustration over the lack of communication, Carrie immediately became defensive and rude. Rather than taking accountability, she talked over me, dismissed my concerns, and spoke to me as though I were a child. At one point, she even got up from behind the desk and walked toward me in an aggressive manner, making me feel genuinely uncomfortable. Thankfully, the owner came out and completely changed the experience. He was professional, honest, and transparent. He explained that my brakes & rotors had not been completed because the shop had received the wrong-sized parts. He personally went to pick up the correct parts and had one of his best mechanics install them. That level of customer service was greatly appreciated. After I got my car back, I noticed a warning light on my dashboard that had never been there before. Carrie immediately implied it was my vehicle's issue rather than something related to the work that had just been performed, which once again led to a combative interaction. The owner stepped in, acknowledged they weren't sure of the cause, and asked me to return Monday when the technician who replaced my door locks would be back. When I returned Monday, Carrie's attitude had not changed. I asked for the owner's contact information, but she refused to provide it. I asked when he would be back, and she claimed she didn't know. Throughout the conversation, she repeatedly interrupted me, and at one point even told me to "sit down" as if I were a child. About ten minutes later, Andrew diagnosed and resolved the warning light. He was knowledgeable, informative, and explained that it was simply a minor oversight related to the previous repair. It's unfortunate that one employee overshadowed an otherwise positive experience. The owner and Andrew were exceptional, professional, and treated me with respect. Unfortunately, Carrie's attitude, lack of communication, refusal to take accountability, and unprofessional behavior made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. After reading other customer reviews, I was disappointed to see that my experience was not an isolated incident. Several reviewers described similar interactions with Carrie, and even her responses to those reviews reflected the same dismissive, argumentative, and unprofessional attitude that I experienced firsthand. That consistency makes it clear this is an ongoing customer service issue, not simply a misunderstanding. DO NOT RECOMMEND - EAGLE TRANSMISSION - AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS I took my vehicle to Eagle Transmission and ended up having the entire engine replaced -- a repair that cost me $12,000. After driving it for just a couple of miles, the check engine light came on. I immediately brought it back to the shop at 3:00 PM (they close at 5:00 PM), but Carrie Cross, who claims to be the owner, was extremely rude and told me to come back the next day. Funny thing is, when I did return, they fixed the issue in under five minutes. So why couldn't they do it when I was already there? I had to return again because the car needed coolant, which they had supposedly replaced during the engine job. Every time I try to explain the issue, Carrie interrupts me, tells me to be quiet, and refuses to let me speak. Her attitude is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. On top of that, if you pay with a credit card, they charge a 3% fee, but they don't tell you until you're about to pay. I tried to speak with someone else because Carrie is impossible to talk to, but she claims she's the owner and no one else is available. I've had to return multiple times. The customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. Even though the repairs are under warranty, I've been treated as if I'm an inconvenience instead of a paying customer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO EAGLE TRANSMISSION. Zero professionalism, and a toxic attitude -- especially from Carrie Cross. Not worth the stress, not even if it were free. Update: I appreciate the apology, but unfortunately, cheap apologies do not fix the damage caused -- especially when the issues were supposed to be covered under warranty, including the labor, and were not properly addressed. I brought my vehicle to your shop expecting the work to be done right and under the warranty terms. Instead, I've had to pay out of pocket and now take the car elsewhere to fix what you failed to do. Referring me to Carrie Cross or saying you'll "talk internally" is not a real solution -- that's an internal matter you need to deal with on your end. What I expect is a direct call and action to fix the issues with my vehicle and take responsibility for the work I already paid for. Leaving a reply under a review won't change the reality of how poorly you handled my situation. If you truly cared about customer satisfaction, you would have already contacted me with a resolution, not just words. I will not recommend this place -- you might save a few dollars upfront, but you'll end up spending more fixing what wasn't done right. There is no zero star rating or that would have what I gave them. We DROVE MY SON'S 2003 Ford Mustang in to Eagle Transmission on Midway Rd in Addison about six months ago. They told us they had to take the transmission apart to diagnose it and see if it needed a new transmission. This cost $500. They didn't mention they wouldn't put it back together. So, when we DROVE it in, it was not shifting into the top two gears, but it was drivable. THEN, they wanted $4000 for a rebuilt transmission, IF THEY COULD FIND ONE. They would not reassemble the transmission so we could drive it home, so we had to pay about $300 to have it towed to our house. my son has one day a week to work on projects, so he started to work on it this weekend. He had rented a truck and gone to the junkyard and purchased a compatible transmission, and went out to work on the car - only to discover that Eagle Transmission had KEPT the drive shaft, the exhaust pipes and torque converter from the car, making it impossible to install a different transmission without spending a LOT of money to also buy those parts. I would NEVER trust these people to fix anything. They probably sold off those parts they kept and made some money for themselves. they certainly did not compensate us for the parts they kept without permission or even informing us they had kept them, or that we could come and get them. They stole them from us, and I fully expect them to either get those original parts they stole back to us or to be reimbursed for the cost of the new parts without any hassle or delay. I am furious at these people for the money and complete disregard for the time, hassle, and money they have cost us. in my opinion they are a bunch of crooks, and I sincerely wish we had picked an honest repair shop to begin with. read more

This is a update on service. Okay, so their recommendation was a Overhaul on my transmission, however, they said it may or may not fix my issue and in the latter case it would be a electrical issue, which is easy to fix. I declined the Overhaul because it was $2500 and honestly I wanted to trade in the vehicle soon. That was Tuesday that I declined the Overhaul, they did not finish putting in the Transmission until Friday afternoon. I picked up my car and drove home (less than 6 miles). Saturday morning I drove to Rusty Wallis off of I635/Shiloh Rd for a appraisal. I had no problems driving there, however after looking on their lot and walking back to my vehicle All OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED OUT. I called Eagle Transmission and according to them the sealants and gaskets are not good after a transmission is taken out and that only gets replaced during a Overhaul. Now, I have filed a complaint with the BBB and Eagles response is that they never know if the sealants or gaskets will be bad before they take a transmission out. However, I have done my own research and spoke with other Mechanics. Which have told me that Yes, once a transmission is taken out the sealants are no good but that is the case with most if not all cars. My issue is with the fact that not one time during my calls with Eagle Transmission was I ever informed of this. Not even when I picked up my car did they say "Hey, by the way in less than 24 hours your transmission fluid might leak out." I had my 5 year old daughter with me and if this had happened on the freeway I would be enraged, but I'm just dissatisfied in how I was not informed of such vital information. read more

They have always been fair and honest with me, telling me when something isn't a big deal or to try and see if the manufacturer will fix it under warranty/recall. Several times they have told me if there is a cheaper solution rather than going through them. When I have had to actually have things repaired they have always been the most affordable as well after comparing against other shops. I don't even know where to begin. I will try to make this as short as I can. If I could give less than one star, I would. In my 48 years, this is hands down the WORST experience I've ever had with any automotive shop--or any other business for that matter--in my entire life. Before I begin, I want to be sure to completely exonerate Scott Carter who works the front desk. Scott has been nothing but nice and courteous and professional with me, and sympathetic to my issues. He has tried his best to take care of me. But everything else about my experience there was horrible. On December 28, 2019, six months ago, I paid $2550 for the following services on my 2006 Honda Pilot: 1) Replace timing belt with new timing belt kit including new water pump. 2) Fix oil leak coming from rear main seal and oil pan. Replace rear main seal and replace oil pan gasket material. The timing belt job was fine, no problem there. However, the engine continued to leak oil from the same places that were supposed to be fixed. So I took it back in. In fact, to make a long story short, I took it back in no less than FOUR TIMES over the last six months for the very same problem that continued to happen from the very places that were supposed to be fixed. I don't even know exactly how much I paid for the oil leak repair since they never itemized the invoice. However, I do know that the timing belt replacement was about $1150 remembering my conversations over the phone. So that leaves $1400 for the oil leak repair and taxes and such. So you can figure about $1250 give or take for the oil leak repair. Since this is an old car, and a secondary vehicle for us, I would have let it go if I hadn't paid so much money specifically to fix this very problem. So I continued to take it back to them four different times for the same thing over the last six months. Finally, they agreed to redo the whole job. I was informed the car was ready and I could pick it up on Monday, June 22, 2020. So my wife drove me up to pick up the car on Monday. Here's what happened. I had to wait a little bit for other customers who were already there ahead of me. Then Scott brought me my key. I asked him what exactly they had done to it this time to fix it. So he brought in the mechanic. I asked the mechanic, whose name I never got, what he had done to the car this time. He said that he had re-sealed the oil pan. I said, "That's it? You guys were supposed to redo the whole job, including the rear seal and the two engine plugs that you guys attempted to seal with silicone sealant." The mechanic said, "I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about it," and stormed out. At that point, my blood began to rise. I turned to Scott and said, "After everything I've been through with this car, that's the kind of BS I have to put up with?" That's all I said, nothing else. At that point, the owner, Douglas Cribbes, WHO HAD NEVER SEEN ME, SPOKEN TO ME, OR HAD ANY CONTACT WITH ME BEFORE, came out of his back office and began to chew me out up one side and down the other and ordered me to leave his shop. I sat there and took his verbal abuse and said nothing. Even if I wanted to respond, I couldn't have gotten a word in because he continued to yell at me, saying things like his mechanics are having to work in hundred degree heat, and accusing me of chewing Scott up one side and down the other on our phone conversations, which is totally untrue. I've been nothing but extremely patient and professional in all my communications with Scott. All of this Mr. Cribbes did in front of all the other customers who were in the store at the time. And let me just emphasize again, this is the first time Mr. Cribbes had ever seen me, met me, or had any dealings with me whatsoever. When he finally stopped yelling and cursing at me and ordering me to leave, I said I will leave but I want to say one last thing: "If my car isn't fixed this time, I'm taking you to small claims court." He responded "Go for it," and returned back into his little back office. I left. Let me just reiterate again that I have no problem with Scott Carter, who works the front desk, whatsoever. He's a wonderful guy and totally professional. I don't even really have that much of an issue with the mechanic. But I will never in my life forgive Mr. Douglas Cribbes, the owner of the establishment, for the unconscionable and extremely unprofessional manner in which I was treated as a paying client, especially after the poor job that they did on my car. It's still too early, and remains to be seen, whether the car is actually fixed this time or will continue to leak oil. I will know in the next week or so of driving it. I know that a fair number of people have had good experiences with this place. I don't doubt their good experiences or their reviews. But my experience was over-the-top horrible, and I'll certainly never forget it. I would have to recommend to anyone who needs car work to go almost anywhere else. read more

I would not advise taking your car here for any kind of diagnosis or transmission work. Although it may be a hassle, tow or drive your car to another shop immediately. I made the mistake of trusting the shop with my car. In the end, there was a lot of dishonesty involved with the diagnosis and work done. The owner, JD, seemed to be trustworthy at first. He offered to take pictures of old parts and agreed to save old parts to verify work done. When I called to confirm my desire for the shop to follow through with the saving of old parts, that's when things started to get fishy. The owner said that many homeless people come knocking on his door for scrap metal. He said some of the vary parts they were replacing were given to a homeless guy living in a hotel. Seriously? No pictures were ever sent. He had originally offered pictures because I was from out of town and would not be in the Dallas area to check on work. No pictures were ever sent to prove work done. When I went to pay, I felt like I needed to let the shop know that I was not happy with how everything was handled. I asked that there would be some way to verify all the work that was done. They could not do so. He asked how I would be paying repeatedly as I was expressing my concern. He constantly interrupted me with the question of payment. The owner grew impatient with my dissatisfaction and demanded a cash payment of $4,000(instead of paying by card) and threatened to keep my car if I didn't provide the cash that day. I never refused to pay the shop. I was just wanting proof of the exact work that was done. He became more and more defensive and started to use profanity and said inappropriate comments towards me. He then refused to take my coupon and said that he already saved me tons of money. I paid and left. When I came back due to a noise related with the clutch, he didn't show any bit of concern or desire to diagnose the problem. He took a can of WD-40 and soaked the pedal with it. My car smelled horrible and it didn't fix the problem. Bottom line. Take your car to another shop. They cannot be trusted. read more

I had to get it towed BACK to this place and was told the battery was this issue this time. They charged me $40 just to install the battery. Two days later, same issue. (who recently took over ownership of this location) was able to narrow down my problem over the phone and said they do free diagnostics checks if I wanted to bring it in. Within minutes of my visit, they were able to pinpoint the exact problem and provided a free estimate. I have been referring people to JD and his crew at Eagle for over a year now and EVERYONE has been nothing but elated with the quality of work and the pricing. I have had my personal car worked on there as well, because I trust them completely. Most mechanics are happy to "part swap" to find the problem and that can cost you a bundle in the end. JD does not work that way. He said we had to do more research to try to limit how much we did to keep the cost down for me. How many times have you heard a mechanic tell you that? Brought my car here about 2 months ago because it was overheating and asked them to check what it was before replacing anything, they went ahead and replaced the water pump without asking, and turns out it didn't need it, there was just air in the system. Alright fine aslong as it stopped overheating I was happy and paid $500. Brought it back now because it started overheating again and they didn't even bother looking at it. Took our truck here for the transmission to be rebuilt. Picked it up after leaving for 6 work days. The very next day had problems with it shifting. Called and were told by office manager that we needed to give it time to "break in". After 3 days of issues, had to have it towed back to the shop. Took another week only to find out they had installed a bad part! They advised they had test driven it 10 miles, however, our odometer showed around 6 miles. Not only were we without a truck for two weeks, when we picked it up for the second time we found a large scratch on the hood! Our truck was 17 years old and in excellent condition.....had been pampered and had NO scratches on the hood. They could not explain nor did they take responsibility for the scratch. Also, to our disappointment, we found in the small print that their two year warranty is not transferrable with the truck. Can not recommend based on our experience! read more

They got over on me. I took my car there to get diagnosed because i thought my transmission was going bad. they said it was the mass air flow sensor which i have not idea what that has to do with my car picking up to the next gear and my check engine light was on. i authorized them to fix the alleged problem. I paid $425 dollars. I picked my car up it was loud like a diesel truck and barely made it off their lot. they had to come push my vehicle out the street. they said i needed my catalytic converter repaired and it would cost me over $2,500 dollars. They loosed up my exhaust or something they said they did so i could make it home. My coworkers told me to get a second opinion I took it to midas and they said one of my bolts was missing and the other was loose. They did a diagnosis and said my catalytic converter was not bad and i was getting a misfire meaning i need to possibly get my spark plugs and wires checked. I am scheduled to take it to midas in the morning when its cooler so they can check the spark plugs and wires. Eagle Transmission messed my car up more than what it was and charged me $425 for something that was not the issue. they tried to charge me over $2,500 for something else that was and is not the issue. I recently took my 4Runner to Eagle Transmission of Addison and had a great experience. The shop I have used for years had shut down, and I thought I would try this location. JD was very friendly over the phone and said that they could take a look at my truck right away. I arrived and David took great care of me. He looked my truck over and told me what they thought the problem was. JD explained how things work with this particular problem, and what it would take to fix it. He said they would look into it to make sure this was in fact what was going on and give me a call. They called a few hours later with an estimate, and said they could have my truck ready to go the same day. Sure enough, I got a call that afternoon that my truck was ready. They had not only repaired the problem, but topped off my fluids and checked the truck over fully free of charge! JD mentioned a few things I might want to watch for and charged me the exact price of the estimate he had quoted me. I was going to have my insurance company's roadside assistance tow my SUV to their shop but after they screwed up and did end up towing my truck, JD offered to tow my truck for free and came out to check on my truck personally. When his usual towing service could not get there in a reasonable amount of time, he cancelled the order and hired a more expensive service to get my truck towed in. Awesome service! I was having problems with my AC in the middle of summer and took my Envoy to JD. He looked over my vehicle very carefully and told me exactly what was wrong with it. The whole system needed to be replaced. I thought I would be out over $1000 and that was not the case at all! He put great parts on and it has been ice cold ever since! Do not cater to this business!!! I brought my car here about 2 years ago for some simple maintenance and they over charged me horribly. All I needed done to my car was one Ignition Coil near the firewall that needed to replaced and the transmission sensor needed to be replaced. The guy that worked on my car told me that the one ignition coil was replaced to the tune of about 500 dollars. One Ignition Coil!!! Then he told me that he would have to check my transmission and basically just "try something". That's exactly what he told me. If that didn't work then I would have to bring it back and he would have to work on it some more. He was going to charge me another 700 dollars for that initially and if that didn't work then I would have to spend more money. That's when I realized that the guy was trying to get over on me and I told him don't touch my car, I'll be there to get it the next day. But basically overall this guy wanted to charge me 1200 dollars to fix 2 problems that shouldn't have cost more than 300 or 400 Dollars. He fixed an Ignition Coil that shouldn't have cost more than 200 dollars and wanted to work on a transmission sensor that shouldn't have cost more than 150 dollars parts and labor. I had a basic 2001 Nissan Maxima at the time. These guys will rip you off. read more

DO NOT USE THIS EAGLE TRANSMISSION IF YOU HAVE ANY CAR PROBLEM! I was having issues with my truck and I always used this company in the past. We thought that something might be wrong with the alternator but i was prepared if it was my transmission. I didn't know that the old owners had sold the company to JD and his wife Robin so i had my truck towed is that they could look at it. I called him a day later and told me that my truck was ready to go. So I went there and JD said that he fixed the issue but I needed to get an oil change asap because of how the truck was running. I thought that was odd but i was just happy that i only had to pay around $350 for the issue. I went and started my car and it barely started then it starting blowing white smoke and shut off on me. I started it again and the white smoke was blowing really bad. JD came out looking concerned and said to me that he told me that I needed to get it an oil change. Naturally, I was upset and we got into an argument. I told him that i didn't pay him to not know what was wrong with my truck and put a rubber band on the issue. I paid him to fix the issue. JD got mad as i will admit that I was a little loud but never disrespectful. I just simply wanted to know why I paid $350 and my truck wasn't fixed. JD told me to get off his property or he will have my truck towed. I took my truck up the street to David McDavid's Lincoln in Plano where i bought my truck and they told me my transmission was gone and needed to be fixed. My problem with JD wasn't that my transmission went out but the fact that he tried to cover it up and didn't want anything to do with it. He should of refunded me my money like a good business owner but pretty much left me in the cold. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR.
