We wait a few months after the grand opening to give this place a try and was not disappointed. Before we start off, do not park at the near the nursery place. The nursery person was very rude and will tow away. This buffet place is a 4.5 stars so I give it a 5 star since there were plenty of selection of food like sushi, dim sum, soups, noodles and shrimp. Since we went on the weekend for lunch there was no lobster til dinner time. A service fee of 8% was added to the bill in lieu of a tip. This Saturday there were plenty of people and I think we waited 20 minutes before we got a seat. The atmosphere is a very busy and lots of hungry people searching for different food entrees. This place is over priced for blan, limited selection, and worst of all cold hot foods which is a health safety concern. We were on our way to Fusion Buffet in Concord which is cheaper and better overall taste and quality. East bay buffet seafood selection badly season not close to Cajun but has more of a herbal Indian flavor and it was cold!!! I've never been to a buffet where I don't want seconds. Loved it! Went with a group of 7, everyone enjoyed it. Literally no complaints which is unusual with buffets - theirs always one thing but not here. EVERYTHING was delicious. The stag is super attentive. I'd say the only downside is kids is based off height after 10 they're going to be full price :/. But it's so delicious lots of included drinks to choose from. 2.5 stars. Couple things they should improve: 1. Saw a fly flying around sushi section. It was a turn off. 2. Refill is too slow. I stayed there in about an hour sashimi is always empty. 3. It's pretty underwhelming. The buffet selection was limited, the seating areas are tight and narrow, area smells like bleach/toilet, I wanted some sushi but it wasn't prepared fast enough. Tried their Mongolian style stir fry (pick your own toppings), but it was so bland even when we told them to add more salt for second round. East Bay Buffet was pretty solid! Love that they have weekend lunch pricing which buffets or AYCE spots typically dont, so that drew us in. The selection is pretty good: Chinese food favorites like orange chicken, sweet and sour fish/pork, spicy salt and pepper ribs, fried rice, etc. Malatang hot pot station with tom yum, bone broth, mala spicy, etc. with self-serve ingredients to add to the bowl of soup. Mongolian noodles for similar. Sushi which was pretty decent considering its a buffet. Salad, soups, pizza, sashimi, and dim sum. So a little bit for everyone. I really enjoyed the Chinese food options, the pizza (has that nostalgic elementary school taste to it), the malatang, and sushi were all tasty. I was really impressed that you have tons of beverages including some in cans and bottles to choose from for no extra charge. I decided to try East Bay Buffet for lunch today Wed.7/30 before their soft opening 10% discount expires tomorrow Thurs.7/31. Unfortunately I was shy by 2 years to get their senior discount of 10%. They said if I was shy by 1 year they would honor the 10% discount....whatever! BTW they were stacking discounts 10% + 10% so it does add up. Now about the atmosphere and food. The place is new and remodeled so it's very clean inside I didn't use their restroom so I can't review that. The buffet is pretty much in one area except for the ice cream and drinks that you access through a maze of small rooms leading to the back of the restaurant. I would say the food quality is above average for a buffet. My favorite item was the salt & pepper shrimp more like prawns. They were huge crispy and delicious! I was pleasantly surprised to see Gai Lan (Chinese Broccoli) which is not that common in buffets or even in most Chinese restaurants. They had a decent assortment of sushi and when I asked if they have Unagi they said it will be available for dinner. They add more premium items to dinner for the higher dinner buffet prices. The only unusual item was a creamy rice pudding in their dessert section it had a strange taste the only thing I can compare it to is Pepto Bismol flavor! Maybe they were being proactive in offering it so you wouldn't have to drink Pepto Bismol when you get home after eating at most buffets. The other desserts were pretty common and their chocolate fountain was a pretty fancy centerpiece. All in all I felt it was a good value especially during a weekday lunch price and the food for the most part was better than most buffets. I would go back if I was in the area but living in San Jose I really don't venture up to Dublin very often or ever really. I love a good buffet. For reference, our favorite buffet is the Wynn in Las Vegas. The food here was fresh & hot and delicious. Nothing was stale & the selection was pretty good. My husband enjoyed the hot pot and the cook to order steaks. I loved the crab legs and the sushi. My kids ate up all the snails, mussels and French fries their little hearts desired. Everytime I'm coming down the Hills at Big Canyon in Dublin, I always see this. Today I happen to be in the neighborhood, I'm here at East Bay buffet, it's a Seafood buffet. I'm here for all the Sushi, and delectables. The selection of Sushi is great here, it's way better and slightly fresher than a lot of similar places like this out there. I'm surprised they had Jalapeño Pepper Fin Tuna, my favorite. I had to get a whole platter of Baked Mussels, and Baked Scallops. And I'm also surprised this spot let me cook up some Udon Noodles うどん, fresh to order. It got Beef, Greens, Oyster Mushroom, Black Jellyfish Mushroom, Enoki Mushroom, and Lobster Viên or ロブスターボール in it, I don't see Lobster Viên out there a lot for something like this. The Tomato Broth, reminds me of Cioppino. It was hearty, warm, and comforting. Everything was yummy. And I happen to see some, Abbott Global Health and Nutrition Workers doing lunch break here. If your going to try this Buffet, I recommend going on a weekday. The weekend price is ridiculous. We went on Saturday night for our 28th wedding anniversary. It's very loud, so not good for that kind of dinner. I payed extra to have lobster, it was a good size. I love lobster, that was horrible. The butter they had out was so gross. It didn't even taste like butter. There were a few good things, like the crab legs and oysters. That crab would have been amazing if they had really butter. Let me say, when I got home my stomach hurt so bad. I ended up with food poisoning. So just beware of what you're eating. I can't pin point just one thing because my husband didn't get sick and he is very sensitive to bacteria like that. Good luck i I will not be back or recommend this place to others. read more

This is our family first visit to East Bay buffet during Saturday lunch! We will definitely come back to try out their dinner in the next few weeks later. Their ambience is very comfortable and everything is very clean and neat! Excellent service! My group has 2 toddlers and 1 baby. The host was very nice and provided us greetings when we first walk in. And make sure the place where we sat can fit in our full size stroller. Also, the busser was very attentive. They always came by and picked up the dirty or empty dish very quickly. Always check with us if we need anything else! Food is amazing! I'm a sushi lover! Their sushi is very fresh! They even have malatang! A large selection of different types of drinks! Hot food is very good too! My kids love the chocolate fountain a lot! They had many different kinds of steamed dim sum as well! Their food is all delicious. The only thing why we didn't come here yet because of the dinner price for kids. My 5 yo daughter cannot eat much. Nothing special about this place food was meh there was nothing in the trays and the place didn't even have a wait time. I was there for dinner on 2/1/2026 and there was nothing interesting to eat all I notice they had was raw seafood and sushi there was nothing warm for dinner they had a pizza warmer where there was no pizza the whole time I was there waiting for it . The only one time they put 1 SM pizza out people took it and waited until for another 30 minutes and pizza never came out . It's so disappointing how much it cost to go starve and not have a pleasant time enjoying what you paying for . I've been to other buffet places not the old versions the new ones from these days and this one doesn't have anything fancy for whatever they're charging for not worth it at all . I asked someone there to take my plate away when I had noddles in it because the plate was dirty had something stuck on it. If you grab a plate and make it shine Through the light you will see how blurry and sticky it is because of the dirt now being wash properly. So disappointed I don't think I will come back ever to spent $117 dollar and starve. read more

&tldr; Better food than your average Chinese buffet, but could be improved; not all food selections available at all seatings. We've visited numerous Chinese buffets across the country over the years, and were excited to find that Tri-Valley was finally getting one of their own again. We visited the relatively new East Bay Buffet on a Thursday for lunch, after receiving their Grand Opening flyer/coupon in the mail. The Good: There was no line when we arrived just before 1 p.m. The friendly staff checked us in and showed us to our table (I'd guess that the restaurant was at around 20-30% capacity at that hour). Our dirty plates were cleared politely and efficiently during our 90 minute stay, and we were pleased to see that the buffet food trays remained more than adequately fresh and full the entire time (many buffets will let the supply dwindle when getting close to the end of service time). The staff did an admirable job keeping the buffet counters clean and orderly. The quality and freshness of the ingredients seemed higher than the average Chinese buffet. The rice in the sushi was just the right texture, and the fish all tasted fresh and high quality. The cocktail shrimp were cooked correctly (tender, not overdone/rubbery). The Shu Mai (a dish that can be positively dreadful at some buffets) was fresh and tasty as well. I particularly appreciated that East Bay Buffet includes some more authentic/traditional items that most other buffets are afraid to stock (like tripe and pig ears). I found both the Hot and Sour Soup and Seafood Soup to have more and higher quality ingredients in them than I would typically expect from buffet soup. There was a wide enough variety of options that both (omnivore) I and my (pescatarian) wife had no problem finding things to eat. The included beverages were a nice touch. My wife really enjoyed her milk tea, but I was a little disappointed to find that all the refrigerated beverages were sweetened; it would have been nice to have a chilled, unsweetened tea available. The Bad: Over half the items pictured in the flyer (oysters, crab, lobster, steak - and even some Dim Sum items like the Har Gow) weren't available at lunch the day we were there. It's not unusual for buffets to feature nicer offerings on nights / weekends, but it would've been nice if they had been more upfront about the differences. There are signs above the buffet items supposedly telling you what they are, but you couldn't trust them to be accurate the day we were there. The sushi area was the worst, with 2/3 or the signs not representative of what was below them I (in some cases the named item was elsewhere in the area, but in most cases the named item was nowhere to be found). We found cases in the customizable soup/griddle ingredient area as well. The seasoning of the sushi rice was a bit inconsistent. On my first pass, a number of rolls had a slightly over sweet/seasoned taste. That seemed to have been corrected by the time I made my final pass, though, so it was either a bad batch or a variance in the chef's techniques. The facility is already having some issues as well. The day we visited was in middle of a heat wave and they seated us in the front room that faces San Ramon Rd.; the air conditioner could NOT keep up in that room, and it was uncomfortably warm for most of our meal (although the rooms were a bit cooler). My wife also reported that only one of the stalls in the women's restroom was fully functional; the door latch on one was already broken, the toilet in a second seemed to be leaking water onto the floor, and only the handicap stall was completely useable. Summary: We had an overall 3.5 star (rounded up to 4) star experience. We're split on the overall "value for the dollar", but are likely to return again some day. read more

Tried twice - once a weekday lunch and once a weekend lunch. Weekend lunch had hot snow crab legs. Good variety of food in the buffet. Not a huge selection but enough dishes that I felt more than satisfied. I will forgo the noodle soup in the future as the soup really filled me up. I like the self serve free drinks but that also will fill you up. It's great value for the money. The buffet is clean and tidy. You can even trust the sushi as they make it fresh right there. If you are looking to try some new dishes they have different things like a hot bar with some Asian dishes and dim sum. They have crab legs, shrimp and crawfish. They even have boba tea, ice cream and a chocolate fountain. The bussing staff is friendly and comes by to get empty plates often.
