Went here around 2:20 pm with my girlfriend on a Thursday. Not busy at all. There is parking all around the building and for it is around a plaza. We walked in and you pay up front for how many guests are going to be doing the buffet. It is fairly priced, we paid $26.99 for each of us for the lunch buffet. The selection is fairly huge. I can't really name all of it but all of the food I took pictures of on the plates were pretty good, some were okay, this is a decent place to get your hunger satisfied all around. They have a lot of options available along with unlimited drinks & dessert. The malatang and grill option is awesome, along with the sushi bar. They also have a chocolate fountain which I should've pictured but I always left my phone at the table. Overall the place is pretty big and is destined for bigger parties as well which there a lot of seating for those type of parties and events etc. I recommend if you're looking for a decently sized and good tasting buffet! read more

SATURDAY NIGHT LOBSTER The last time I ate lobster at a buffet was during Friday of Labor Day weekend in 2019 inside Jackson Rancheria Casino. The lobster was awful because the lobster was cold. The prime rib tasted pasty. The steak grilled over an open flame had a funky smell. My friend wanted to cook to eat here for a while. I decided as a birthday gift to pay for his meal at East Bay Buffet. We came here on a Saturday night. On the weekends there is a $4 charge per lobster tail. My friend didn't want lobster, but I wanted to get lobster tail for myself. A lot of Asian buffets tend to be the same however East Bay Buffet is quite different than most. One feature is the dim sum selections. I've seen chicken feet at dim sum section in buffets but not beef tripe. With no hesitation I got beef tripe. After taking a bite of the beef tripe I was impressed as there was no gamey taste. The flavor reminded me of Filipino dish pinapaitan but without the bitterness. Another different feature is the refrigerated cold beverage dispenser had homemade milk tea. I thought drink was horchata. I had to get the milk tea. It was a soothing drink, which balances the oily dishes from the buffet. Another item at East Bay Buffet that stood out was Chinese broccoli. One item I liked about the Chinese broccoli at this buffet was the mustard taste. I came here for the lobster. Was paying $4 extra for one lobster worth the charge? Yes it was. The lobster tail wasn't rubbery. Also it wasn't watery. The lobster tail was sweet yet you can taste the butter. The lobster tail at East Bay Buffet taste better than at most restaurants and also cheaper. If you pay $12 for 3 lobster tails at East Bay Buffet that's worth the price. Due to the unexpected items like beef tripe and homemade milk tea I enjoyed my dinner at East Bay Buffet. I don't drive to Dublin often for food. Decent buffet spot in Dublin! Asian theme foods, good selection. What I thought was unique and haven't seen anywhere else yet was they make their on milk teas and drinks, and have some other brand bottled drinks too. Drinks are included with the price. There's also a Malatang station which is like make your own hot pot. I haven't seen that anywhere else either. I really liked their sui Mai in the dim sum section. That was actually pretty legit! Don't come in with restaurant quality expectations. It's a buffet, and it does have that mass produce buffet quality to it. But sold items were a hit and some were a miss. Came here on my husband's birthday to celebrate. They allow 2 days before and after the actual date, but we came on his actual birthday. It was a Monday evening, thought it won't be too crowded but I was wrong. Although it was not full house but definitely a lot for a weekday. There is a lot of food variety to choose from. East Bay Buffet takes over from the old McNamara's Steak House and is already attracting good-sized lunchtime crowds. Our babysitter took our son here a few times before we even heard of the place. Apparently he's a fan and one of the waitresses even recognized him as a regular, LOL! Its as Asian-themed buffet with some unique features. I came here for lunch twice and had an excellent experience both time. Some of my favorite items were: 1. Sushi and sashimi of course - light, fresh, and always an excellent starter. No guilt with seconds for sushi! 2. The custom build-your-own-noodle station. I recommend tossing some mushrooms, green bok choy, egg noodles, and a healthy helping of lamb or beef with the spicy Mala Tang broth. 3. The drink section is impressive. Yes there's a a soda fountain but also a fridge full of bottled water, boba tea, various Asian iced teas and grass jelly drinks, and zero-calorie sparkling water with flavors like strawberry, lychee, and white peach. 4. The hot entrees have both deep-fried and sauteed items. I do recommend the boiled spicy fish. The cheese pizza is also super popular, and I wish they crank out more of it. 5. For the dim sum section, the custard buns are always a big hit. 6. Lastly, the fruits all seem very fresh. Our son loves the watermelon, grapes, oranges, and both honeydew and cantaloupe. Service is fast and friendly. The staff does an excellent job of clearing plates. They also have clean restrooms and wipes/sanitizers everywhere. Came here to say on a Saturday for lunch around 11:45 and by the time we left they were packed! They have a ton of seats and you can definitely tell this used to be a Japanese steakhouse, but the decorations inside are still nice. I like that they have a lot of different selections and types of food like porridge bar, Malatang bar, dim sum, bar, sushi, bar, cold appetizers, bar, and chocolate fountain. The food was all a little bit better than decent so honestly better than your run of the mill buffet. What's also amazing is drinks are included, but they also didn't skimp on the selections. They had a lot of juices, bottled drinks, milk teas, & coffee! For the price, it can't be beat. Just got back from vacation and decided to try this place for a midweek lunch. Wow! First it's really clean, including the bathroom. The service was also great, they cleared our plates regularly. You pay as you enter and drinks are included. And when I say drinks, I don't mean the generic soda fountains. There were so many varieties of ... every (ok maybe I exaggerate) Asian brand drinks you can want. Not to mention milk tea and lemonades. I ended up drinking the strawberry watermelon lemonade---yummy. And they had real ice cream cups. Basically for the price (under $25 for lunch) the quality and variety was a pleasant surprise. There was a decent selection of sushi and Chinese food. The malatang station allowed you to personalize your soup. There's even chcken feet in the dim aum area. I wish I had more stomache space to try the chocolate fountain. We got there around noon on a weekday but it was getting more crowded as we left. Came back again last night to celebrate my dad's birthday and I've got to say, it's only gotten better! My issue with the dim sum and the fried shrimp has definitely been rectified with some serious tweaks and quality control. The sushi is also better, the rice tastes a lot more fresh. For a buffet, the food quality and cleanliness here was pretty good. I dined here for Saturday lunch and got seated right away. Note that you pay upfront before getting seated, and there's an 8% service fee that automatically gets added to your bill. I was pretty surprised at how good the sushi and sashimi were in terms of taste and fish quality. However, I wish there was tuna sashimi, which I typically see at similar buffets in the East Bay. The malatang bar was also pretty good, and there was a decent selection of hot food items. But I wish the dim sum section got restocked more often. I kept seeing a sign for xiao long bao (soup dumplings), but I never actually saw any during my entire 90 minutes there. New buffet in dublin/pleasanton. We came by for weekday lunch and it was not very busy. Lots of variety including sushi bar, typically Chinese buffet options, some dim sum options including braised chicken feet. The unique feature is the option to make your own bowl of noodle soup. You select all the toppings and hand it to the staff who cook the items. You can choose a variety of broths- the two highlights are the bone broth and the Malaa tang which is spicy! Another unique feature is that drinks are included which includes fountain drinks, milk tea, as well as a variety of canned and bottle drinks! There are also some Asian desserts such as red bean sago and taro sago which I thought was just ok. Overall large clean, good selection, with drinks included. I absolutely love malatang, so to see a AYCE malatang restaurant, I knew I had to check it out. I got two bowls, only because I wanted to also try the other food. I think the rest of the food is pure distraction. Because the malatang was my favorite, then the steak, then the sashimi. I love the drink fridges, I dont think I've been to an AYCE with that offered. Just a note, the drinks are mostly all fizzy. A good technique to fill you up I would probably come back for lunch. I was so excited to try out East Bay Buffet for the first time, located in Dublin, CA, but after my experience, it left me a bit disappointed and left a huge dent in my wallet. I was traveling in the Bay Area and couldn't decide which buffet to go to. My first choice was at Fusion Buffet located in Concord, CA; once again, Yelp kind of failed me. The good 4/5 -Friendly female cashier, attentive busboy. -Good tasty crab legs; the crab meat doesn't fall apart when you break them in half. -SF boil the yellow corn, which was sweet and tasted fresh & had a crispy snap when you were biting into it. -Great drink selections from Pepsi fountain drinks and bottled water and other Asian drinks and teas. -$4.00 lobster tail add-on was worth it; it tasted good and a bit sweet and had a good texture. The Bad 3/5 -The kalbi doesn't have the traditional Korean umami that I was craving. -Can be a bit crowded; maybe it's due to the weekends. -BBQ pork buns tasted old, not fresh. Most of their Asian bottled/canned drinks are loaded with sugar. -Some of their dining area and buffet area is really narrow, like you're crammed up in a sardine can. The Ugly 1/5 -I think some of their dishes they put too much MSG in had me falling asleep real fast; it's not due to a food coma. -For a weekend all-day price with a $4.00 lobster tail upcharge, it came to be $53 and some change. This is including drinks and a service charge added to your bill. I'm sure there are cheaper buffets in the Bay Area. -I was very disappointed in their limited sushi selections; I figured there would be a lot more. Stopped by for lunch on a weekday and it was not busy at 11:00AM. By the time we left a little after noon, more people had gathered. Parking out front was plentiful and the restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. They have a sushi area where they have an employee making fresh sushi and cutting fish. He was very helpful in replenishing items and acknowledged and thanked me for adding to his tip jar. They have an area where you select your proteins, vegetables, and carbs and an employee will boil your food with the broth of your choice. He was also very appreciative when I added money to his tip jar. The buffet area was clean and had a variety of items from veggies to fries, dim sum, and various dishes. They had hot and sour soup and a seafood soup. I did not try their desserts but they had a variety including a chocolate fountain. Drinks and individual cups of ice cream are self serve but there is a sign warning you that the drinks must be consumed on premise and is not for taking out (unless you want to risk a separate charge for leaving with it). You pay up front, tipping is optional (I left a tip on the table), and staff were very quick to clear used dishes. My wife and I were so excited to try this buffet so we came at the start of lunch time today! From the outside, it looks like an old house-like structure that resembled an old Black Angus or even an Indian restaurant with maybe a ball-room inside.. either way it didn't look modern. As you come in, everything looks up to par with modern and simple dining tables & chairs; nothing was overly fancy. You pay first before being seated which was about $43 pp for Sunday lunch. We sat close to the restrooms which was convenient BUT there was a hallway/room next door to our area which had strong fumes from cleaning products like floor cleaning solution. It was strong and was unpleasant. The food buffet bars were super clean and well maintained. Employees are constantly cleaning around and making sure there is no mess around. The food option is really just regular to us. They didn't have too many things which was slightly disappointing. They had your typical dim sum options but they didn't have Siu Mai which is the main dish. They had a raw and seafood bar but nothing stood out other than maybe their sea snails. They didn't have duck, calamari, etc. I should also mention that the food lacked seasoning; it was too bland and needed salt. Everything here, you can find at your most basic Chinese buffet. I will say, I did like the "premium" steak bar which is a hot grill and you request to have some flat thin steak grilled up. These aren't big cuts by any means, more like flap steaks at like 4-6 ounces. My medium rare steak came out juicy and delicious. Next time, I'll just have this with fried rice. I will say, their drinks options at the station is pretty cool. Aside, from the soda machine, there is a fridge with different teas, water bottles, milk tea station, etc. there is even a freezer with lots of ice cream (strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla). I just love this buffet. Came here with my mom on a Tuesday when they opened at 4 pm. We were the very first customers. I noticed they were still cooking new dinner items to replace the lunch items. It took about 50 minutes for all the items to be 100% dinner items. ( I would definitely suggest coming for dinner instead of lunch ) We were definitely here for the crab legs and they were huge, fresh and delicious. The malatang soup was flavorful and many fresh ingredients. I read some of the other reviews before I came and they definitely take these reviews to heart ! I remember reading about someone complaining about double dipping into the chocolate fountain. ( Now they have a huge sign next to make sure nobody double dips ) My only complaint is that there were two flies that kept flying around the food. I told one of the staff and they killed the flies. The serving spoons and ladles were silver so when placed in the food for too long, they get really hot. My mom went to grab one of the serving spoons and she burned her hand. Is it just me, or have there been a lot more buffet spots popping up lately in the Bay Area? I recently came across East Bay Buffet in Dublin through an online article, and I knew right away I had to check it out. Since the restaurant just opened, the interior is, as expected, very clean and modern. One thing I noticed, though, was that the hallways connecting the dining areas to the buffet stations were quite narrow, making it slightly tricky to navigate through the crowd. That said, I really appreciated how the food stations were separated into distinct sections for different cuisines, helping disperse people a bit and preventing the main area from becoming too congested. As for the food, the Malatang station was a standout. You can customize a bowl with ingredients you like such as noodles, mushrooms, vegetables, and a variety of meats; then choose a broth for it to be cooked in. I opted for the house-special bone broth, which was rich, milky, and absolutely delicious--I'd definitely get it again. If you're not in the mood for soup, they also offer the option to have your selections grilled instead (like in Mongolian grill kind of style). Another highlight for me was the dim sum section. This was hands down the best dim sum I've ever had at an AYCE place. They had a great variety: spareribs, tripe, pork dumplings, steamed buns, chicken feet, and even sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf. Everything I tried was quite good. At the sushi station, while they don't serve sashimi during lunch hours, they do offer nigiri, which I appreciated and was delicious. The Chinese hot-food section, however, was a bit hit or miss. I was excited to try the fried shrimp with mayonnaise, but it ended up being too salty for my taste. On the other hand, their Chinese-style pork ribs were tender and full of flavor. Another item I super liked was the spicy seafood dry hotpot. Although I didn't try them myself, they also had a range of other options like soups, pizza (if you're craving something American), salads, desserts, and even a chocolate fountain for dipping marshmallows or strawberries on a stick. One pleasant surprise was that drinks were included, and it wasn't just soda and water. So this is the newest Chinese premium seafood buffet competition to Tome, which has been the only option for years. I will compare them here. Carving station, this is one important part for meat lovers. Great grilled steak here, me and friends/family usually likes grilled than roasted, and quality of steak seems a bit up notch than Tome. A special lobster (weekend prices only), good freshness and properly steamed. Don't have as good varieties in cooked and bbq Chinese dishes like tome but have snow crab (steamed and stirred fried) and also have big sea snails, and oysters. There is only stirred fried noodles, but they have beef intestines stew and other dim sum. Sushi and sashimi, no comparison, Tome is the best everywhere. Same for sweets and fruits. Beverages this wins the prize for any buffets, bolba tea, iced tea, soda and others. Overall unless really misses sushi and sashimi (that there are other competitors like ultra sushi), at least don't need to drive all the way to San Jose, tri-valley has its own now. NOTE: Family gone in a Saturday without lobster and carving station and a lot less stuff with a lower price (thought both days were the same) and were very disappointed, so my review is only for Sunday with $40+ pricing. read more

We came here to celebrate a birthday on a Thursday 6:30 pm. Parking was not difficult to find but the restaurant was decently full. The staff was friendly, our birthday boy got free entry after having his ID verified. We paid upfront which was around $40 per person, then we were seated. The interior is quite nice! All drinks are self serve and are included with the entry price you pay. I did enjoy the free milk tea that they had available. Personally like my milk teas on the sweet side and it had some crystal boba in it! There were many drink options in the fridges and fountain dispensers too. Plates are under the counters and everything was labeled above the glass tops. I think some labels should have been labeled with more detail when it's not obvious what's inside. For example the egg rolls just said egg rolls, but it turned out the inside was all veg. Or the scallops obviously say scallop but it was clearly mixed with other ingredients. I think it's just better that people are informed of the facts, it helps reduce food waste anyway. We quickly saw how not everything had its own tong. The tongs noticeably had a mix of neighboring food on them. Other than that, I enjoyed the sushi and sashimi was good and seemed fresh. Most of the food had that authentic Chinese flavoring. The shu mai was an initial surprise as it did taste accurate. There were some small single steaks being served at the end of the grill area, they were not really seasoned, and the only available self serve seasonings are salt/pepper. I tried some crab legs, there was a decent amount of raw seafood (including snails), in the section near the sushi. They actually have gloves available by utensils and of course the cracking tool. I got zero use out of the tool unfortunately all the legs I got were not hard enough to crack I would've been better off with a pair of scissors if I could get some, but it was a bit painful trying to finish a leg at a time. They have a malatang/grill bar where you can built a bowl but I ran out of space before I could give it a try - it did look good, I was told there is a bone broth option which I like. That was a cool standout! The dessert bar was sparse. The options are somewhat standard for the average Chinese buffet but never that memorable (mini cakes, jellies, cut fruit). I got a single maraschino Cherry for fun and it was surprisingly bitter? I tried the custard bao but the custard was very very liquid. There was a freezer filled with single chocolate/vanilla/strawberry ice cream cups by the drink corner. Notably, there is a chocolate fountain where you can coat strawberries or marshmallows. Our final rating would be a 3.5 it was decent and had a lot of fun options. The service I can't say much on since we only really interacted with the cashier, it was good everyone seemed nice/welcoming. There is something so nostalgic about East Bay Buffet...I grew up frequenting Todai and Hometown Buffet (and loving it). It is where I first discovered flying fish roe sushi (the one with the tiny orange fish eggs on top), and this buffet has two types! Located next to INC 82 across from Casa Orozco, the restaurant has a spacious high ceiling interior with plenty of seating. We paid at the front counter first ($26.99 for AYCE weekday lunch) before we were seated at a booth near the drinks and ice cream fridge. The can of herbal tea was refreshing and I liked the honey pomelo (yellow bottle) more than I expected. The strawberry ice cream was also better than I thought (other flavors were chocolate and vanilla). Onto the mains! I could have just taken the whole plate of sashimi lol...like theoretically I could right? I'm used to seeing only nigiri at buffets so it was nice to not have to waste rice. The bar with Chinese food was loaded with good stuff: dim sum, 3 different types of sweet and sour meat, vegetables, fried rice, noodles, fried mussels, you name it. I loved the soup options; hot and sour soup, seafood soup, and sweet date soup are childhood favorites. A lot of people were taking advantage of the malatang bar which I will have to try next time. I was guaranteed to not eat anything else after a big bowl of hot pot lol. Their dessert and fruit bar had a lot of options (of course you have to have the signature colored jello). The chocolate fountain was fun; I didn't know the trick to chocolate covered strawberries was to immediately dunk it into iced water to avoid mess. This new buffet opened in my neighborhood, so naturally I have to go try it, right? Yes! It's a typical Asian/Chinese buffet that you come across and the price is reasonable for the amount of food they put out. I liked it that they have malatang and canned beverages as this is less common. I liked the hot food selections with various dishes and dim sums; and the fried rice was actual really delicious! The cold salad bar was typical with a few seafood appetizers like mussels and cocktail shrimps. The sushi section was my least favorite and the nigiri sushi can be much better. "Creative Restaurant with Asian Flair." I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was not at all what I thought it would be. I had visions of long tables full of cheap fried food. Boy was I wrong. Today was the soft opening of this large restaurant. It's in the old McNamara's building. The interior has been completely redesigned and of course is brand new. It's spacious with several extra banquet rooms. There is a fair amount of parking spaces in the front, with more in the back. For handicapped people there is a long wheelchair access ramp. When I saw the sign that said buffet, I thought of the traditional type American buffet. That is not at all what this restaurant is. The food option are Asian themed. If you like Japanese style steak or sushi, you've come to the right place. Dinner prices start at $40 for weekdays. Lunch prices are less. Each meal includes drink and dessert. For a limited time each diner gets a ticket for a lobster tail. Here's a free tip: Please don't tell anyone else. If you are a senior citizen over 65 you get a 10% discount. After several years of being vacant and six months of renovation, East Bay buffet has opened. We were able to go to the soft opening, which saved us 10%. As we are over 65 they also offer a 10% discount. As you enter you're greeted by the host who takes your money and shows you to a table. He also explained that you are only able to get one serving of Wagyu steak at a time. The buffet is all you can eat and the staff is really great about clearing away empty plates so when you go back for seconds or thirds your plates are gone before you get back to your table. Currently they have three separate meal plans. Weekdays for lunch They do not offer Wagyu or as many seafood options. Weekday dinners they have lots of different shrimps, crab and seafood choices, as well as Wagyu steaks. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights the cost is four dollars more and includes one lobster tail. Otherwise, the offerings are the same as weekdays. It's hard to describe all of the options available for Food. Everything I tried was good. Everything seemed fresh. I did feel that the Wagyu was tough and if I return, I won't get any. It is a thin slice of beef cooked on a grill to order. There were several better beef options , including beef ribs. This place is THE best place to eat Chinese buffet at. So.. I'm not normally a buffet person because I do not eat alot and I don't always see the money being worth spending. However, this place is $39.99 pp plus tax, $4 extra for lobster and automatic 8% service charge added upon arrival when you have to pay your bill. With that being said, it is very very worth it. They have your usual Chinese food that you find at buffets, sushi, Cajun seafood boil, steak and lobster made fresh when ordered, ice cream and other desserts, chocolate fondue station with the works and unlimited drinks that are both American and Asian delights (Sodas, juice, tea, red/ white wines, beers, saki), ramen, other soups. Like you name it.. they had it... AND it it's all included in what you pay. Like it is literally all- you- can- eat. The place is very clean and they are constantly having a waitress by you that picks up your dirty items as soon as you are done. Our waitress was Hong and she was wonderful and super friendly. They give you 90 mins to enjoy everything.. but someone stated that when it isn't crowded.. they give you up to 2 hrs at times. The food is so good. Everything is flavorful. The only thing that could be better is that all the food shouod be served hot and not just warm. However, it will not change me giving them 5 stars. They have a Green Tea/Jasmine that was so yummy. I want to add that they make things super easy by having all condiments, sauces, utensils, cups, drinks.. everything accessible. There is plenty of parking which was great. When you enter, you pay first. If anyone in your party is 65 or older, they have a senior discount. After you pay, the host will take you to a table and give you tickets for lobster tail (one per person). There were a lot of beverages. None of them were a sugar free alternative, unless you go to the fountain drink for diet or pepsi zero. There are containers of milk tea and a snow fungus dessert in plastic boba cups - just add ice and water if you want to dilute the sweetness a bit. The hot food station had meats, shrimp, dimsum, and noodles/rice chinese stir fried veggies. The chow mein was not bad. I liked the green beans - crunchy! My mom liked the short rib. The fried foods were ok. Not super crispy. The dim sum was ok. The raw oysters were so.. good... tasted fresh... so good with lemon and tobasco... mmmm!! The pig ear is near the oysters- in thin cuts. It's super yummy and crunchy. Love it! The sushi and sashimi station was so delicious. I liked the raw fish they had. The malatang was so good! I got mala flavor soup and it was not spicy enough but you can find the sauce station and add more spicy. Steak was so good! Thin cut and not too filling. You also get lobster tail here and the lobster tail was pretty good! Tender and yummy. Watermelon was sweet and cold. Perfect!! The dessert station was ok. There was a chocolate fondue station. There's staff is efficient, expedient, and gracious. The place was packed for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. When I arrived they called number 5 to be seated. I was giving number 10 and was seated within 5 minutes. While I waited, I sat outside on the spacious deck taking in some rays and playing with the toddler next to me. The parking lot was full. After circling twice, I opted to park down the street. I thought to myself this is a good indication of what's to come once inside. If the parking lot is full, this must be the place to be. And it was!! The food did not disappoint. A vast array of items. I did a quick tour of the buffet. And it was overwhelming, but in a good way. A sushi bar, a ramen/chowmein bar, a salad bar, soups, cold seafood bar, American food bar w/pizza, a dessert bar, a chocolate fountain (I Loved), and anything your heart would desire for beverages. I spent two glorious hours there feasting, taking in a Giants game, and bopping to the best tunes. The ceilings are high therefore the noise levels weren't an issue. I East Bay Buffett. Our party of four arrived at 10:50 AM (they open at 11:00 AM) and there was already a line, so I'd definitely recommend coming early if you don't want to wait long. Once you get inside, you pay first and then you're seated at your table. You get 90 minutes to eat, which is plenty of time to enjoy everything. One nice option is you can pay an extra $4 per lobster tail, which is honestly a great deal, so why not! Just keep in mind there's an automatic 8% service charge added when you pay. If you're happy with the service, I highly recommend leaving an ADDITIONAL tip at the table because the busser staff works extremely hard and stays very attentive, constantly clearing tables quickly and efficiently. The food selection was a good variety (pictures added), and most of it was fresh and tasty. The only thing I didn't really care for was the egg custard, it seemed like it had been sitting in the warmer too long, so it wasn't light and fluffy and instead tasted a bit overbaked. After we had been seated for a while (we were slightly over the 90 minute limit), the waiter came around to each table and checked the receipts taped to the edge of the table. He politely mentioned, "There is a party reserved for this area at 1 PM," which felt like a kind way of reminding us our dining time was up without directly saying it. Came in for lunch on a Friday about 11:30am and they were already packed!!! Lucky they had a few small tables and I was able to get one of them. You walk in pay before you sit. They have most of the Asian buffet dishes. Everything was pretty good and fresh. What I like the most is their dim sum items, was very surprised to see black bean ribs, Chicken Feet, and my favorite the beef tripes with daikon. They were all pretty tasty. It's been YEARS since I have gone to a buffet and I'm happy to have tried East Bay Buffet. While we went on a weekday for dinner and did not get lobster, that's ok. I think the food is isn't bad at all and the variety is great for everyone. I spent most of my time with the sushi or crab legs. Service is very quick when clearing your table. I was seated in the room by the food and in the future I would request to be seated elsewhere, as everyone was passing right by our table and it felt like an invasion of space when someone would brush you while you're eating. For a Chinese buffet, the food quality so far was good. Sashimi looked and tasted good for a buffet, and Nigiri pieces had not too much rice on them. I was surprised by the salmon w/lemon and tilapia. Pretty good for a buffet. The cooked food was solid as well with some authentic Chinese flavors in the spicy boiled fish and spicy fried pork. After seeing this place pop up in my IG a few times I decided to give it a try. For $26.99 on a Tuesday noon is not a bad deal. I'm not sure how long they've been here but the appearance of the establishment still looks pretty new. The place had a good amount of diners on a weekday. The front parking lot was completely full. Luckily there was no wait and we were seated right away. This is how it goes. You pay first, the host seats you and then you're free to roam around. The variety of food is decent. There's sushi, cold seafood, salads, a good spread of Chinese hot dishes, dim sum, a few random soup selections and a customize your own Mala noodle station. In my opinion, the most impressive part of the buffet is the drink fridge. I've never been to a buffet with this many drink selections. They have bottled teas, can sparkling waters, milk tea and a bunch of other soft drinks available. The hot food selection was probably my second favorite. It's all the usual Chinese American dishes you can expect. Orange chicken, beef & broccoli, fried rice, chow mein, egg rolls and crab ragoons etc. Nothing really stood out to me here but it was good enough for me to go around to try a little bit of everything.
