The food and service is amazing here! I have been so many times and never walked away with something not fresh or not delicious. I have done the Greek salad with chicken and falafel, the jedra plate with chicken and dolma, the gyro, and so many of the appetizers. DONT leave without getting a box of their HOMEMADE pita chips and tzatziki side. The people who work here are hardworking and super nice! We stopped here for a quick lunch during our visit to Brown U. Due to the pandemic, there is no indoor dining so we ordered wraps that were easy to eat picnic style. My wife and son had the falafel wrap, and I was salivating over the combo wrap with falafel and kofka. Mine was huge - basically a falafel wrap + 3 decent size kofka and I requested all of toppings/veggies. Not too spicy, but flavorful. Kofka was a little dry/well done, but sauces in wrap compensated for it. Reasonable prices, good portions, quick service. Recommend ordering online or ahead of time though as only 5 customers can be on the restaurant at a time. read more

I mean you can't go wrong here! From the wraps to the salads, they pretty much have everyone covered. I got the salad with grilled chicken. It's incredible! The chicken is so flavorful and all the toppings mixed with the Greek dressing and tzatziki. Get an order of Falafel. Just do it! These little donut like bites are crispy golden delicious nuggets of love. Schmear em with hummus or more of that tzatziki and call it a night! YUMMMM! I know the pandemic has hit businesses pretty hard, and some changes have needed to be made. BUT, I think increasing the prices just a little would be more acceptable than charging the same amount, but decreasing the quality, and size of the product. There are like a bajillion and a half reviews of East Side Pockets, so I will be friend. -Still the best mediterranean takeout place in Providence! -Falafels are out of this world! Crispy, chewy, warm, perfection. -The wraps that they give you are chock-full of food and they don't come apart in your hand. The only downside is that they have a strange way of enforcing social distancing measures. I think the RI Health Department told them that they had a capacity of six customers. The way they enforce this, is that when a 7th customer walks into the store, they shout "We can only have six people in the store." I felt kind of stupid having to wait outside until someone left. There weren't any signs posted or anyone at the door telling me about this rule. I know it's a small business with limited capacity, but I think at least some kind of notice would be helpful. read more

I love East Side Pocket's Food, however when it comes to Delivery I am not so happy. I ordered for delivery and my food was left outside my work building! No phone call or anything. I had even increased the Driver's Tip beforehand. Luckily, a coworker saw it there and immediately let me know. If you had told me 10, 8 5, 2 years ago that I would have eaten Greek food, and enjoyed it, I would have laughed, bet against it, said you didn't know me. I don't know what came over myself, maybe I've aged, maybe I was excited Gster was in town, maybe I just had too long of a lunch break. But wow, am I glad that I wasn't thinking clearly that day. We went during lunch, so obviously the line was super long. Being my first exposure to this type of food, I was overwhelmed with what to order. I got a chicken wrap, with cucumber sauce, lettuce, and tabuloah. The serving is MASSIVE, enough for at least 2 meals. The flavors are poignant, surprising, but combines greatly. I ate it, I survived, and guess what... I already have been back! When I came back the second time with Patch, I pulled a classic "kim". When asked if we had been there before, I excitedly answered "yes!", and when Patch said no, I started to call him out, since he formerly went to BC ( Bryant College) and considered himself a RI local and frequented ESP. Well, my honesty almost cost us 2 falafals! I can now officially say I have also tried falafel and hummus, and scarily enough, kind of (secretly) enjoyed them. Only about a third of a mile from the heart of Brown University, this place is a fantastic combination of great food, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and ridiculously fast service. The freshest ingredients, the quality is always top notch (no orange/yellow tomatoes if you know what I mean). The service couldn't be better, they're always so friendly and so efficient. They can push a line out the door in less than 5 minutes but aren't pushy/rude and you can tell by all the regulars coming in that they really run this business with their heart. I'm impressed. My $7.50 gyro pocket with everything was legitimately one of the best Middle Eastern items I've tried and -- trust me -- as a broke grad student in Manhattan I've had quite a few. The gyro meat (lamb, I'm pretty sure) was sliced thick, warm, and seasoned well without being too salty. Then there were heaps of vegetables with all sorts of sauces that didn't feel heavy at all. Their is almost ALWAYS a line. Whether it's local college kids or foodies like myself grabbing a quick bite- expect to wait at least 5-10 minutes for your food (which is nothing). I usually order the falafel-chicken combination wrap and it's ALWAYS GREAT. They have AMAZING falafel & the chicken is always fresh & delicious as well. I love all the spices and sauces they use! It's so good! The portion size is also quite large so this place is great all around! You get a good amount of bang for your buck! Their hummus is also DELICIOUS & I usually grab some pita chips to go along with the hummus. If I could give more then 5 stars - I would. A RI classic- if you've never been you HAVE to give it a try!
