I did ask for an extra thick consistency and requested more ice and blended longer, so the ice actually blends right. I knowww I'm picky but I cannot stand ordering frappes and they come out thin and sad. I need that consistency thick af. They absolutely nailed it. I saw Eastern Tales Thai Tea on Instagram and had to check it out since Thai tea is always my go-to flavor at boba shops. The place itself is really cute, with bar seating and cozy wooden tables. We tried a few things: the Thai Tea & Cookie Flight, Taro Mochi Cookie, Panda Cookie, Thai Breeze, and the Biscoff Coffee Frap. The Thai Tea & Cookie Flight was really fun and unique. The experience was interesting but somewhat lacking in service. They have both a slice and a whole pie available on the website menu. I initially ordered the whole pie, checked out and paid for it but a few minutes later I got a text and email that my order was cancelled and refunded. There was no explanation given or call to tell me why.. and you can't call them. I then ordered just a slice hoping to get at least a taste of this interesting item. This ordered worked and I was able to pick it up. I asked the front attendant at the pickup area but he didn't know why they canceled except maybe they were out of whole pies and had not removed it from the menu availability. More like a 3.5 but I'm rounding up and will definitely review them again if I get to try their product at an actual Farmer's Market or even they're tabling at. Don't know if being at a ghost kitchen affects any of the quality. I had to swoop into the OC real quick for some Black Friday shopping and decided to get boba from somewhere that I can't get in the 626. I know an oomfie was able to try Eastern Tales at the Lantern Art Expo (sadly they weren't vending when I went) and saw that I can order from them here. Saw from the reviews that it is a ghost kitchen locker, but whatever that's quick and easy, I was seeking that. You simply order from their website, they confirm your order, give you an estimate when it's ready and there is a link that is texted to you. You just open the link and then the locker with your order will pop open. If you want to order at the ghost kitchen, there is a kiosk touch screen where you can do that as well. Took around 10 minutes for my 3 drinks. I got the: Bangkok Thai Tea *Signature*, Phuket Thai Tea *Signature*, and their Eastern Tales Thai Tea. Their Eastern Tales Thai Tea is just their Bangkok Thai tea with some toppings, so I recommend getting one or the other so you can try more. All of their drinks are recommended at 100% sweetness, so I opted for that. BIG mistake, way too sweet for me. I would have gone half if I knew it was going to be that sweet. Had to mix in some milk at home to dilute how sweet everything was. Their Bangkok Thai Tea and by extension their Eastern Tales Thai tea have a sweeter, creamier taste, standard of many Thai tea. Their ETT comes with boba and coconut whipped cream (with some dried coconut bits in it too). I did like the dried coconut bits as it absorbed the flavor of the Thai tea and added some nice texture. Boba was standard in my opinion. I do feel like the toppings added a slightly more "tropical" or "floral" taste to the tea than their standard Bangkok Thai Tea. Of the 3, my favorite was the Phuket Thai tea as it uses a darker roast and gives a stronger Thai tea flavor if that makes sense. Gave it slight caramel/creme brulee finishing note taste that I really liked. Would have enjoyed this much more if I didn't do the recommended 100% sweet. All in all, IYKYK, there are some big dogs out there for the Thai tea market and I say Eastern Tales falls a bit short in term of tastiness and uniqueness of their teas. We went to their actual location in Samta Ana and it was a building with an Amazon locker. You can order online or on the tablet and it opens up like an Amazon locker delivery. Super interesting. There is one guy at the front but otherwise, it's a no-contact location. Nowhere to sit either so it's takeout only. Or you can drink in the car like my friend. Fantastic thai tea though. Really elevated and deepened the flavor. My favorite was the Phuket as it tasted like a dark roast and had a really strong tea flavor. Lychee lime thai tea was also really unique and flavorful. OVERALL : There is no shortage of boba in OC, but I thought this place was really unique because they just specialize in thai milk /fruit teas! They've been doing pop ups at the farmer's market and night markets in the area, but I was near their ghost kitchen pick up spot one day so decided to try. I feel like this was more of a dessert drink to me just bc of how decadent it was Strawberry Serenade - thai tea + milk + strawberry puree - low-key reminded me of strawberry milk from my childhood? I couldn't taste the thai tea much in this one bc the strawberry milk flavor was the most prominent. I'd get less sweet next time as well though Thai Tea Orange Creamsicle - orange tea + cream top - my fav thing that I got here! We stumbled upon Eastern Tales Thai Tea at the Brea Farmers Market and oh. my. god. This is hands down the BEST Thai tea I've ever had. Perfectly balanced--not too sweet, super creamy, and with such a rich, authentic flavor. You can really tell they put love into every cup. They're a pop-up, so you can catch them at different events around Orange County, and they currently have two locations--one in Santa Ana and another in Fountain Valley. I had a great experience trying this ghost kitchen for the first time! I ordered 2 drinks for their BOGO sale and also a Thai tea cookie. I ordered online and it was complete on time. The Bangkok Thai tea is your traditional flavor when you think of Thai tea. It was perfectly sweetness with a strong tea flavor. I got Thai tea jellies which were very soft, but it was hard to taste given my drink was also Thai tea. We also tried the Phuket Thai tea which had a strong punch to it. It was slightly bitter with a sharp tea flavor which was less floral than the Bangkok. It was a little too bitter for me; I much prefer the Bangkok one. The red velvet cookie was good, not overly sweet. The Thai cheesecake was a good consistency but the Thai flavor was not very strong. The soufflé was light and fluffy with pieces of coconut in the center. Their customer service is great. The business called to tell me they had just run out of the Thai tea cookie and offered me a substitute vs a refund. I opted for a substitute cookie and she ended up offering me a free cheesecake slice too for the inconvenience! So nice! But once I got the bag, I saw she also gave me a coconut soufflé. After eating a good hearty lunch at a KBBQ, we wanted something to quench our thirst! Summer is here and it's gonna be brutal. We found Eastern Tales on yelp and they had some good reviews so we decided to try it and the timing was so great because they had a BOGO!!! I had to order two for myself because why not!? It was online order only for pick up at a ghost kitchen. I didn't have to wait too long. I got the Bangkok Thai Tea with Oat Milk (super rich in flavor) and the Bangkok Breeze (it tasted like lychee juice) both with less ice and less sugar. The last thai drinks place that I tried was Cha Tra Mue and their thai tea was okay but this place was super good and I liked how they had oat milk option. I stopped by their booth which is/was at UC Irvine this week (they are here until this Friday 5/10/24) - their normal location is at the South Coast Ghost Kitchen off Broadway in Santa Ana. The co-founder was running the booth and he was very friendly/cordial/personable. Apparently, the story goes that the two co-founders met each other during a marketing class while attending UC Irvine. So it's like full circle/homecoming that they are back running a booth during UCI's quarterly vendor fair. He had so much positive energy during our chat - which was building up my anticipation for his wares. After sampling both the Bangkok Thai Tea and the Phuket Thai Tea, I settled on the Phuket Thai Tea. The Bangkok thai tea is great if you prefer the taste of thai tea, but not as strong of a tea element. The Phuket Thai Tea has a much stronger tea profile - which I love and its definitely full-bodied in this drink. The cup is sturdy - I think it's reusable too - not like your typical tea shop cups. This is literally the best thai tea I've had in ages - it is unique enough in its own flavor to leave a mark and positive impression. The booth had other goodies as well - including cookies and cheesecake. I also picked up an order of the Thai Tea Basque Cheesecake - extremely rich and is definitely a treat if you're a fan of the thai tea flavor. Probably the best thai tea I've had in my life! Found them on instagram, then heard they were nearby (They're at UCI for the week of 5/6-5/10) and I dashed over.) There at the buildings right across university town center alongside the other tents in the area. There was already of line of students when I arrived (as i always say, if you want good eats, it's best to follow the lines) I dont go here! (The school) but I do love supporting a small business. There's the bangkok thai tea (light roast) and Phucket thai tea (dark roast) I went for the dark roast and it was DELISH, I looove looove strong tea and this one almost reminded me of how strong coffee is a bit. If you prefer the usual thai tea which is milkier, I'd probably stick to bangkok. You can tell it's good quality Thai tea that has been freshly brewed and not any of the artificial flavoring. The Thai tea has been mixed with coconut and the quality really shines through. Most importantly, for desserts, there is enough flavor, and it's not too sweet. The young coconut, chiffon cake was one of my favorites and it impressed my Asian mom. I really enjoyed getting a little bit of everything and being able to try it. I wish I was a little bit closer because I would definitely get this all the time. It's a ghost kitchen and I didn't know until I got there. We tried the Phuket and Bangkok Thai milk tea and they all tasted very similar. One tasted more mild than the other (I think Phuket was milder). I liked the lychee lime Thai tea the best. It was refreshing and reminded me of my time in Thailand. I have not seen this anywhere in the states so this was unique. The Taro Thai milk tea was just okay. I asked for less sugar but the drinks were still pretty sweet so keep that in mind. Thai tea tends to be on the sweeter side in general though. We got a few cookies and the basque cheese cake and they were supposed to have Thai tea flavor but I couldn't taste it at all. I never really order Thai tea at boba shops and would only really order them at Thai restaurants if I feel like it. However since this is their speciality here, of course that's what we'd get. I've gone several times now and actually really like their drinks. I usually get their Eastern Tales Thai Tea, which is their speciality order. Between the Phucket Thai Tea and the Bangkok, I prefer the Bangkok because it's creamier. Phucket is more tea-y and you really taste the leaves I feel, which can be on the more bitter side, which my husband prefers. We were thoroughly impressed with the lychee lime Thai tea. It's so unique and different and works so well because we're not used to Thai tea being fruity/without milk. The only complaint is that their drinks I feel are pricey, but it's nice to have a good Thai tea when we want it. It's a ghost kitchen, so you order on a screen there and just wait or you can pre-order online. The drinks come out in the designated locker when it's done and you just grab and go. Now officially my favorite Thai tea spot. The Phuket Thai tea is my absolute favorite. Love the robust and deep tea flavor. It's not too sweet, so 75% sugar is the sweet spot for me. The coconut chiffon is also to die for. I was hesitant to get it since I don't generally enjoy chiffon cakes, but the cake was perfect with the coconut pieces inside. I also enjoy the orange Thai tea, lychee lime Thai tea, and Bangkok breeze. There is a lychee and 1-2 slices of lime in the lychee lime and Bangkok breeze, so it gets more tart over time. 25-50% sugar for these. I tried the Bangkok Thai tea at 75% sugar and the strawberry serenade at 50% sugar. Both were too sweet for me. I already love the Phuket Thai tea way more than the Bangkok Thai tea anyway, so I won't be repurchasing the Bangkok Thai tea. The red velvet Thai tea cookie was decent but did not make me want to repurchase either. Ordering on the website is pretty easy, and the BOGO deal makes it worth a little bit more to drive there. I've always been able to park right in front of the ghost kitchen. Unfortunately pickup is a hassle. The order number didn't work on the iPad, and if you have multiple orders or someone with the same first name also has an order with the many vendors at the ghost kitchen, the iPad doesn't work either. When I manage to open the locker either using my name or with a staff's assistance, both times my dessert orders were missing and only the beverages were in the locker. This one's not on the establishment, but worth mentioning to some guests who might be concerned. - If you order a dessert, it may come in a paper bag sealed with a staple (see photo). You may pull open the bag and carelessly reach inside, but the sharp staple may scratch your skin. I recommend the business replace the staple with a safer sealing method, like a sticker. Gripes: - I was confused how you're supposed to show the order on your phone to the tablet's camera in order for the tablet to recognize it. Do I pull up the email, the order webpage, or...? If the tablet showed an example of what my phone screen should look like to show to the tablet's camera, that would've been helpful. I tried, but the tablet's cam couldn't detect my order. Upon arriving, my friend and I realize it's part of a ghost kitchen. Not a great sign, but we already committed. Ordered a few drinks and their dessert box. They do have a BOGO deal, so that made it worthwhile. Specializing in Thai tea, the tea itself is just slightly above average. It doesn't taste watered down, and the boba is sweet and chewy throughout. The dessert box was barely ok. I liked the cheesecake, it had a nice burnt texture at the edges. The chiffon cake is pretty good too, it's soft and had bits of coconut. Overall, nothing memorable. Safe to cross off the list. Fourtea will continue to be my go-to for Thai tea. read more

I previously ordered Thai tea and cheesecake from Eastern Tales when they accepted pre-orders for pick-up at a store near Thai Town in Hollywood. I've been obsessed with their Phuket-style Thai tea ever since. I also love their Thai tea cookie and cheesecake. I had a chance to visit Eastern Tales at the 626 Night Market. They just released a new cookie flavor, Coconut Pandan. The pandan aroma is so sweet! I highly recommend their Strawberry Serenade which is Thai tea with strawberry puree. I love thai tea so when I found a place that specializes in thai tea I was already intrigued. So this business is at a place called South coast take out. I ordered on a huge tablet and the owner actually made our drinks and brought them out through the window. I got to try the phuket thai tea, bangkok thai tea, and the lychee lime tea! The phuket thai tea had a stronger tea taste which I really enjoyed. The bangkok thai tea was a classic thai tea that everyone knows and loves. However the star of the show for me was the lychee lime tea, I had never had a non creamy thai tea and it was so refreshing and not too sweet. The service was great! The owner was so so friendly and kind. They are opening up a storefront in fountain valley soon so I will keep an eye out for that! read more

It's on the sweeter side but you have the option to adjust the sweetness - Phuket Thai tea - was curious about this one since it's a different tea blend. It tastes a bit darker so I prefer the other one for the creaminess - Young coconut chiffon cake - amazing!! The cake is so light and fluffy and it's not too sweet. Love the coconut filling inside. Comes with a side of coconut cream which is a great pairing to it. My family was fighting for these! - Thai tea cheesecake - unique twist to the original basque cheesecake.
