Came here with my mom the day before Mother's Day and had such a fantastic time! Sergio took care of us and was amazing, super quick and really friendly. I come here pretty often and the food never disappoints. My favorites are the seafood udon with XO sauce, wonton noodle soup, steak with eggs, and the preserved egg & pork congee. Honestly, it's great any time of day. Breakfast comes with different sides depending on what you order, and even a free hot drink; cold drink is $1 extra. For lunch and dinner, drinks are only $1.99 with refills, plus they give you soup on the house, which is such a nice touch. Not many places go the extra mile like this. They clearly know how to keep customers happy with those little details. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to and telling people to go try!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]EAT Bistro is a solid Hong Kong style cafe on this side of the SGV.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu is so extensive. Each restaurant has their own style. The last time I ordered honey garlic pork chops here, they came out like big ribs. I could barely get meat because it was mostly fat. Also it took like 25 minutes to come out, so I had finished the other dishes already. I had to take the pork chops home. Baked bolognese is solid here. It comes with garlic bread. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean, unlike some other HK cafes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also James Wang is not on their placemats. Service is a bit slow, but the servers speak English.

Location & Parking This is honestly one of the better Hong Kong-style cafés in the SGV. It's located inside "The Square" plaza at Garvey Ave & San Gabriel Blvd -- a super busy plaza with tons of shops and eateries, so you already know it's popular. Because of that, parking can be a little challenging during peak hours. If you come during breakfast or weekend brunch time, be prepared to circle a few laps before finding a spot. Breakfast & Food Quality Their breakfast menu is surprisingly extensive -- definitely more options than most cha chaan tengs around the area. Not only is there variety, but the overall taste and quality are noticeably better than many other HK cafés nearby. The food comes out fairly quickly despite how busy they usually are, and portions are satisfying. ‍ Service & Atmosphere Service here is good and attentive. Staff check on you regularly and keep things moving efficiently, which is necessary because the place is almost always packed. The only downside: it gets loud. With the constant crowd and table turnover, don't expect a quiet brunch spot -- this is more of a classic lively Hong Kong café vibe. Overall If you want a dependable cha chaan teng breakfast in SGV with solid food quality and lots of choices, this is definitely one of the safer picks. Just plan around parking and noise, and you'll have a good experience. Would I come back? Yes -- especially for breakfast.

Sadly not my favorite HK cafe experience. The borscht soup was really sweet. Same with the baked pork chop. Nice aspect about the baked pork chop that there was only one small bone. But again, way too sweet. Wonton noodles were fine,...mediocre. Service was surprisingly slow. Had to ask for the check and to go boxes at least three times. Took forever to order. The baked pork chop came out first, and I was done with eating 1/2-2/3 of the meal before the wonton noodles came out.... [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is standard/ fine. Kind of uncomfortable chairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very atypical for a Hong Kong cafe. I've heard this experience was not normal from prior experience so I'm hoping it was an off day. Or maybe things have changed...

TL;DR: Food is ok for HK style cafe dining. Service is slow and needs customer-centered polish. Kitchen management of timing and prep is awful. We came here for lunch and they were transitioning from the breakfast menu to the regular menu. The regular menu had a lot of things so we didn't need breakfast sandwiches, or soups. Sat down at 12:10pm after 20 minute wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person who cleaned the table let it really wet. Like a lot of water wet that I had to use our napkins to dry it and it was still wet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The table Kiki at wasn't ready. As we were waiting for the waiter, we watched the same person clean the table next to us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He uses a spray bottle that has a light blue liquid so maybe diluted windex? He proceeded to spray it all over the table so we can feel it spray on us and it was obvious it was spraying people in the next table too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All other good restaurants have staff spray the liquid into the towel and then wipe the table. That's just bad management. We ordered soup noodles, chicken and pork chop combo, club sandwich and sizzling udon. The soup noodles came first then we waited. After about 7-10 minutes the club sandwich came. A full 15 minutes later the chicken pork chop combo came. So we are looking at around 25 minutes to get the third item. At 25 minutes after we ordered we asked the waiter to check on the sizzling udon. He came back a few minutes later and said they made the wrong dish, do we still want it? Do we want a dish we didn't order? Does that sound reasonable? No thanks we want what we ordered. The sizzling udon came finally came 50 minutes after we ordered. This is really bad kitchen management. Good doesn't come out for everyone at the same time. As it seems it can be 20-40 minutes difference between ordering and receiving your food. Food was ok just like any other HK style cafe. But the service and wait for the food is just bad. Would not recommend this place.

I needed some food late Friday night in Rosemead and stumbled across this Hong Kong-style restaurant. Prices were reasonable and the food was pretty decent overall. Service was a bit slow, I had to flag down staff each time I needed something, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Indonesian Fried Rice with Fried Chicken - Pretty good but nothing too special. The portion was large, though, which helped. Overall, it felt average. (3.5/5) Combination Mixed Grill - For $26 and including steak, chicken, pork, and sausage, this felt like a great deal. Everything tasted good and the plate was packed. I'd definitely order this again. (4.5/5) Overall, the food was solid and the quantity for the price was absolutely worth it. We basically walked away with close to two meals for about $40. Parking: Large parking lot available, though I've seen it get busy in the mornings.

This is a local main stay for HK Cantonese breakfast combo specials! My family loves coming here for their breakfast items. The service here is ok because it's a typical Chinese type of restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance and decor needs some updating but overall nothing special about it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This truly is what I would call an authentic no frills HK Cantonese cuisine kitchen. Their most popular dishes include their various types of congee paired with soy sauce pan fried egg noodles, steamed rice rolls or chinese donut. The special breakfast combo also includes a drink of choice between coffee, milk tea, black tea or my go to fav half tea half coffee "ying yang"! For the great value price of $13 - 15, tasty and fresh ingredients this spot is unbeatable in all of the SGV!

I was recommended this place for baked pork chop rice and that is exactly what I ordered, along with a lemon iced tea. I went on a sunday night around 8pm so it wasn't too packed. They gave me a free tomato soup which had a lot of veggies inside. I havent had one of these since before COVID from any HK style cafe's so this was a plus. The baked pork chop rice was good but not what I was looking for. The sauce was more peppery than tomato tasting. The ratio of pork to fried rice was good but still missing carrots, mushrooms, and pineapple. I did like the baked pork chop being more flavorful than most places though. Added with a not so sweet lemon iced tea, I'd say it was better than I expected Overall, the food was above average but in the end still not what I was looking for. I have been on the hunt for a traditional HK style baked pork chop rice and still have yet to find one.

    Pineapple bun
    Uma R.

First time eating Hong Kong style breakfast and it did not disappoint !!! Macaroni + ham soup was defs my favorite, so simplistic yet tasty and perfectly cooked. Chicken was cooked so well, with the skin perfectly crispy and flavorful. Pineapple bun was so flaky and yummy (ty to the butter). OH and the milk tea + coffee filled me with enough energy for the entire day. Service was speedy and great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is casual and efficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wld love to come back to experience dinner!

Filet Mignon Cube Beef and fried Fillet Sole Cutlet with spaghetti , corn and garlic sauce
    Vanna T.

Ordered the Singapore-Style Vermicelli, Grilled Filet Sole, & Rib Eye Steak, and Seafood Udon with XO Sauce. Everything was flavorful and good. Our fav was the fish filet with the black pepper sauce and rice. It was very busy when we go there so the food took a while to be ready. Forgot to add drinks to our order, but will do that next time. Nice and good service.

Spicy Salt and Pepper Shrimp. They are big shrimps.
    Eric W.

This restaurant doesn't use MSG. They have a good selection of breakfast. They do not have dinner special. The best deal is their 2 items dinner combo. I like the filet mignon cubes and their black pepper sauce is the best. Not spicy and tasty. I also recommend the salt and pepper shrimp. Good price and big shrimp.

Possibly one of the worst Hong Kong cafe spots I've been to unfortunately. I had really high expectations since I heard many good things about this place but too bad it wasn't that great! Parking was ok but can be challenging since the cafe is inside a plaza and the parking is shared with other businesses and a Chinese supermarket Menu was ok and wasn't too expensive. They have breakfast and lunch specials Service was very disappointing. I realize it was busy but not only did they never check to see how my table was doing but it took a long time to even get the staff's attention so I could pay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was pretty small and not much seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Breakfast specials are served daily 8:00am-11:30am There is an option of ~10 different porridges, an option of one side (5 side options), and either coffee or tea (+$1 for cold drinks). Pricing is $12-$13 for the breakfast combos Preserved Egg with Pork Porridge was so disappointing. The consistency was so thick that I felt like I was having oatmeal. There was hardly any pork or egg inside. It want too flavorful and it was possibly one of the worst porridges I've ever had. This was 3/10 The rice noodle with mixed sauce (side) was decent. The rice noodles were pretty soft, and fresh. The hoisin sauce and sesame sauce was very good. This was 8/10 Got another side of soy sauce chow mein ($4.95) and it was pretty flavorful. It was well seasoned and not too oily. This was 7/10 I most likely won't recommend or return unfortunately but I'm glad I tried it out so I know not to go there again

Filet Mignon Cube Beef with Lai Fun
    Rachel W.

Came on a Saturday morning for breakfast and waited for about 10 minutes. The filet mignon was really tender and the lai fun was thick and springy. I was pleasantly surprised that the soup base tasted very similar to the ones in Hong Kong. Tried a lot of lai fun from other places and this tasted the closest to the ones from Hong Kong. The tomato and beef macaroni was great too. The congees were a little too watery but the taste was decent. The staff were helpful and helped refill our drinks multiple times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was lively and noisy so we struggled a bit to talk over the background noises but it was still manageable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I would come back as the breakfast was great and had good portion sizes!

(4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.

However, when our parents called back and spoke in their native language, they were able to accommodate the large party without any minimum spend .
