I had the Spaghetti Puttanesca, a salty and satisfying dish filled with olives, capers, cherry tomatoes, and anchovies. It was perfect! The dishes my wife and friends had were also delicious, such as the Gnocchi and Tagliatelle. Oh, and the House Cake. THE HOUSE CAKE! Southern Cal can be tough to find a solid Italian restaurant that does Woodfired pizza from scratch, makes their own pasta, from scratch, bakes their own bread, has a gelato factory on site, as well as a very respectable Italian pastry kitchen. Eatalian accomplishes this in spades. Located in some cheap warehouse real estate in Gardena, 2 blocks off the freeway. I hate the lighting in this warehouse also, sodium vapor lights, I believe, which the other night they had every other one off. It was like eating in the shadow of a street light at night, outdoors, except you are indoors in what should be a brightly lit space. (my opinion obviously) The Pizza is as good, if not better than some I have eaten in Italy- Pasta seems to come out over-cooked, past al dente, and the sauces are just not that flavorful, which loses them points. Maybe I'm just ordering the wrong items? The service can be a bit indifferent, and hasty, more points off. They could do a better job with just being nice. The food, while usually is pretty good, suffers from inconsistency. I have eaten here at least 4 times before writing this, so I can say, its the luck of the draw. Some days you'll get a 5 star experience, then the next week, 2 stars. In my opinion, its worth taking the chance, and be sure not to miss their pizza and desserts. I really like coming here for a low key date night or family dinner. The corkage fee price is excellent. Only $15 for a bottle of wine. That's about 4 glasses and you'd definitely spend more ordering 4 glasses of wine there. You order and pay before seating and they keep your card if you end up getting dessert after dinner. We ordered the fritto misto (which I love), the barramundi grigliato, and the linguini frutti di mare. Hubby loved the linguine dish, but I was very disappointed in the barramundi. The barramundi was very dry and the roasted potatoes were basically breakfast potatoes you make at home. The best part was the broccolini, which is sad. I've made better barramundi at home. Seriously, what happened to this place?? Now, when you walk in, you're told to order right in the front with the host. It's like a fast casual place but with higher-end Italian restaurant prices. I'm good with the price, just let me sit down and browse the menu. Nope. Then after you order you're told to find your table by number. The ambiance was very industrial with industrial lighting that made everyone look like a shade of green and it made the food look greenish too. Not good at all. We ordered- -Caprese appetizer was just ok - mozzarella slices, tomato slices and basil -8 Gi Pizza was rather dry - its a sampler pizza with different toppings on each slice but where was the tomato sauce? -Penne con Gamberi - penne with shrimp was pretty good -Linguine Frutti di Mare - tomato sauce was bland and not much flavor, seafood was decent The servers were diligent. That was a plus. There's a tiny parking lot that's always full. You have to find street parking and walk down the block. Update: It's been a while since I've been here and at first I thought it was closed as the lighting was so dim as viewed from outside as I drove by. I saw people inside so I did go in. I've been here before many times and had left satisfied with both the food and the experience even when they were busy. This time, however, things have changed and not for the best. The lighting had this strange greenish tinge to everything and was dim inside. When I looked up, it seemed as if every other light had been turned off. Weird. Careful of taking a hold of the bottles of vinegar, olive oil and balsamic vinegar in the racks on the table. Your fingers may come back sticky, oily or both because of the way the way the bottles are shaped. I managed to stain my top before I noticed what came back in my hand besides a bottle. Prices, have increased significantly by at least $2-3 and up for each dish. My gnocchi 4 formaggio would have been good if not for the clump of cheese that didn't get mixed well with the sauce and got a salt bomb in the process. Did my dish look good in green tinged lighting? No.....The only faultless dish was the complimentary bread that was both crusty on the outside, but soft on the inside. All in all, not the best experience I've had here. I don't know what's changed. Management? The chef? Both? I'm not sure, but coupled with the increase in price and poor lighting, not willing to come back anytime soon. Should you eat here? I didn't get the pizza ( prices have gone up significantly as well ) here like I usually do, but you can try it and see if that has not changed ( I hope not). I wouldn't try photographs here unless you like a green tinge to your skin. Try photos during the day instead. Not sure this is worth $15 a plate for pasta or pizza. Every time I come to South Bay, I always always ALWAYS visit Eatalian. The food is absolutely divine! You can taste the freshness of the pasta in every bite you take. This restaurant prides itself in making their sauces, pastas, pastries and more within their premises and you can 100% tell. So far I have tried the following: Entrée: Margherita pizza-- the dough is thin and crunchy and has an earthy, smoky taste from the pizza oven. Their mozzarella was supple and fresh and the tomatoes gave that acidic bite to cut the creaminess of the cheese. The portion was super reasonable and I did take some leftovers home. 4 fromaggi gnocchi-- I liked it as much as I could, but I've come to a realization that I am not a fan of gnocchi. I liked it because I could taste how fresh it was; there was no weird freezer aftertaste that you get if you order gnocchi from other Italian restaurants. Again, portion was pretty good! Did not take leftovers home, but it filled me up for sure. If you are a fan of gnocchi, you will definitely love this dish! Penne con Gamberi-- my FAVOURITE. I'm telling you, I dream about this pasta dish. I crave it all the time! This is a creamy, garlicky penne with large perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp. The penne itself is made al dente and has a perfect bite to it. The dish comes with some grape tomatoes for some acid and I love making it a little spicier by adding chilli flakes! Portion is pretty good for the price considering the amount of labour and love that went into making it. I've also tried their various desserts (they make them in house!), they do run out pretty quick-- especially those coveted, delicious cannolis!!! By the way, the service is always consistent and friendly. They will explain each dish in detail if need be and will always top up your drinks. Highly, highly recommend this place! Located in the Industrial area at Gardena, I've been coming here since they opened just about 8 years ago. I like it here as they don't close between lunch and dinner. Many places close after lunch to prepare for dinner. Since I visit this area for business, I can't always take lunch at lunch time but I can always count on this place to be available. Limited street parking but they have valet parking available in the back. No reservations accepted but they seemed to have the last table available whenever I visited so far. I think I was just lucky, they are packed and busy. My favorite here is gnocchi and tagliatelle. Home made and great textures and good sauce to go well with pasta. Portion size is huge and good to share with your table as you want to leave rooms for dessert. They have good tiramisu and other cakes as well as gelato. My colleague recommended this place to me so I decided to give it a try. Man, I really looked forward to trying the food at this place at first, so I ordered a few things to get a better sample of the food. I ordered the mushroom pasta, seafood risotto, and apricot cookie. For some reason, there's not much of a taste in the mushroom pasta. I'm not sure whether bc of the drive home but it does not look as appealing as others have posted. The seafood risottois mushy as other reviewers have mentioned but it didn't taste as good as others have described. Overall, there nothing memorable from what I ordered. My must go Italian restaurant whenever I visit SoCal! They always serve complimentary bread which you can dip in some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The pizza and pasta are great. Capricciosa is one of my fave pizzas from here. The service is great here. Outside they have parking along the street. They also have a valet section. It's a big space and has a lot of seating. I usually go at lunch time and it's never super busy. I always miss this place and the food. A great date spot too! read more

The ambience is what I was looking for to take my friend for a cozy and casual catch-up with desserts to fill our sweet teeth(?). Took it to Yelp for recommendations and this time the pastas were spot on. Al Dente and great flavors. Just the right sized portions. Overall, a great second visit. With this place lowkey in the middle of an industrial area- it feels 'exclusive' and the place feels like a bakery/ industrial restaurant but in a cute way. It has cool standalone alcohol bar, gelato bar, and dessert display. We heard about this place through a customer at work and it didn't disappoint with the flavors. We got the bruschetta and it tasted super fresh. The speciale pizza and carbonara is pasta. Every thing tasted authentic to our standard pf Italian food and was an experience. Let me start out with the positive: my pesto pasta was delicious! and so was my friend's pizza. My friend and I came in and put our names in. Be prepared to know what you want to order because we were unaware that you had to know your order as soon as they called your name. I recommend buzzers to alert people that it is time for their order because it is really hard to hear with the acoustics of a warehouse. We were told to sit down at our numbered table and the only interaction we got with waitstaff was getting our food and them taking it away. Located in the corner, this restaurant is located in a industrial section of town. Do not expect a fancy exterior or signage, with the entrance located down the side street. They have their own small, valet parking lot. Cash only, no card card, for valet. If you have a limited time for lunch, I recommend the valet parking. Although street parking is free, it will be difficult to find parking close by, without a bit of a walk. The interior looks like a manufacturing facility. They make their own pasta, cheeses, etc. on site. The acoustics are noticeably bad. It is nearly impossible to hear the person at the other side of your table. The food is tasty and fresh. My husband had the opportunity to eat here a few years ago and couldn't stop raving about it. We happen to be visiting 20 min away and made plans to have lunch. Everything was Delicious and everything we didn't eat looked amazing. My husband has a dairy allergy and there were definitely some amazing options for him. Lunch gets fairly busy, but the wait isn't too long. Rock Pizza - I can see why this pizza is popular. It's SO GOOD.
