I've eaten at Eddie's probably 20 times, and somehow I've never left a review. Time to fix that. Hands down, the BEST Philly cheesesteak I've had in Arizona. I always get the #1 Philly Cheesesteak, no red sauce. I like my Philly the old-school way--piled high with hot, thin-sliced steak, grilled onions and melted white American cheese tucked into a soft roll. Nothing fancy covering it up. Just hot, juicy steak, onions and gooey melted cheese soaking into the bread. Last night I decided to treat myself before getting serious about the gym again, and there was only one place I wanted. I ordered it to go, stopped at Circle K afterward to grab a drink, drove home, opened the wrapper and the thing was STILL so hot I almost burned my mouth on the first bite. And I didn't care. The steak was hot and juicy, the onions were grilled just right, the cheese was melted all through the meat, and the bread had soaked up just enough of those juices without turning soggy. That first bite where you get steak, onion, melted cheese and soft bread all together is ridiculous. Twenty visits isn't an accident. Eddie's is consistently that good. If you're looking for an authentic, no-BS Philly cheesesteak in Arizona, go to Eddie's. Get the #1. Just give it a minute before that first bite. Or don't. I never learn. I still keep pictures of the first time i ate there. Look at the size!!!
Love love this place and the people. They take a lot of pride in their craft. Best Philly I've had ever. I'll never have to travel there to get an official cheesesteak sando. Seen a lot of banter about who the best is but this is mine!
Read about this location in a Phoenix magazine, so tried it today. My wife had the Chicken 8" and I had the Philly with wiz. We were not disappointed at all, the food we had was fantastic, the fries cooked to perfection. Definitely a Philly themed restaurant, lots of items about Philly. This place gets very busy, a wait can be expected, but the food Makes it all worth it. You have to try the food, it's great.
Heard about this place having some good sandwiches and had to try it out. Can stay in or take to go. Many great subs offered. My husband & I decided to split the Jack! It comes with melted Jack Cheese with juicy, tender thinly shaved or chopped ribeye steak. Haven't had this good of a sub steak since my last visit to NY from a street vendor.. Very tasty sandwich, we enjoyed it. Fries were good as well. Very friendly service. Not to busy when we arrived, but it was later in the afternoon. Looks like they do a good business & busy with take out orders too. Not a real big place, but quite a bit of seating inside and an outdoor table also. Note-If you are hungry go with the 8 inch for yourself. If you are starving go for the 12 inch (or split it). They are kinda expensive, but flavor wise is far better than the staple sandwich shops you see on every corner. If you like Philly Cheese Steaks or similar scrumptious sub sandwiches, try this place out.
Well this is a very pleasant surprise and a little disappointing as well. Hurray for another steak sandwich place. Sad the place that used to be here is now gone . But here we are, and they have cheesesteaks. And they're good. Lotsa conversation from the owner/cook with customers. He's quite friendly and welcoming, most times. What I've heard most is about the quality of product used. Downside, they take way too long. On this occasion, ordered at 6:52 p.m., it's 7:28 and we are still waiting for our food. The place closes at 8:00 p.m When the food is brought to our table the Mozzarella is warm, not hot. I will say our sandwiches are hot. Generally good food. Time it takes from order to delivery of food varies. greatly. If you're prepared to wait you will not be disappointed. Hopefully he'll hire some additional staff to help crank out those tasty items, quicker.
Oh my goodness!! I've been wanting to try Eddie's for a while . We finally got the chance today for lunch since we were out running errands. It was busy, & it's not a very big place, but it didn't take long to get our food. We both got the 8" cheese steak with mushroom, onion, extra cheese & ranch. Yes, we like ranch on our Philly sandwiches. Hubby added jalapeños. We shared an order of onion rings & a large drink. They were the best cheese steak sandwiches we have ever had! They were phenomenal! Eddie's has ruined Philly's for any other place. The onion rings were excellent too! They were crispy & not greasy at all. I could only eat half of my sandwich. I can't wait to eat the other half. It's about 20 minutes from our house & worth every minute! Staff are nice, friendly & helpful. This is the only place we will go for cheese steak sandwiches. They have lots of different food items, but it would be hard for us not to get the Philly.
Philly Pretzels outstanding. Also ask them in advance. Get them fresh from the east coast. great food quality at a great place.
Stopped by with the Arizona Pizza Lovers Facebook group and found a real gem! I ordered the Original Philly Cheesesteak with a side of fries, and it did not disappoint. The steak was sliced thin, packed with flavor, and cooked perfectly. As a bonus, the owner brought our table some samples of his brisket, and wow--some of the best brisket I've had in a long time. Tender, juicy, and full of smoky flavor. Great food, great hospitality, and definitely worth the visit!
OH MY PHILLY CHEESESTEAK GOODNESS! Yes, it's in all caps and fully spelled out because it's worth the time to stop in and enjoy the BEST cheesesteak in the valley! What Eddie (and his family) cook up is nothing short of exceptional! From the juiciest meat, sweet peppers and cheese, everything is top quality delicious! But.... what really makes this sandwich so special and delicious is his bread! It 100% steals the show and pushes this sandwich into the extraordinary category! Light and airy, the bread does not get soggy yet remains crisp the whole time! The sandwich is deliciously satisfying without that heavy belly, I've just swallowed a brick feeling. Even more, the bread is soft to bite and it does not destroy the top of your mouth with dried out shards of crust just waiting stab your gums and mouth keeping your dentist employed from the mouth trauma. Not only is this sandwich DELICIOUS, it comes out so hot and steamy that you can peruse the love of all things Philadelphia on the walls! Once you can eat it, there is no need to feel rushed as the other half of your sandwich will stay warm because it is served piping hot! Eddie has the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich figured out! If supporting local small business is your thing or just enjoying a great sandwich with your pals in a no frills kind of way, Eddie's has you! It's just sad his taste in sports teams is so bad! But, that's okay.... nobody's perfect!
Well I have been craving a good cheesesteak sandwich, and from the pictures and reviews I thought I found the place. I ordered a 12" half hot pepper and half sweet pepper sandwich, but sadly when I got home I only found the sweet pepper half of my cheesesteak. That half was supposed to be for my mom, because she had ever had a cheesesteak sandwich before. I also ordered a corned beef sandwich to share, a pound of their smoked briske, and an order of onion rings. About $67 worth. The restaurant is a typical stripmall small establishment. Lots of Philly memorabilia and several small tables. The guy taking orders didn't listen very well, because I had to repeat my order several times, but he finally got things correct. When I asked about the brisket Eddie came up to tell me about how he cooks them. He's very proud of his work, and he's creative with his recipes. He puts orange juice on his smoking wood, and I can taste the acrid smoke in the meat. Using wood that is soaked in anything but alcohol will produce a much stronger and much more acrid smoke. I used to do this when I first started using my smokin-it smoker 20 years ago. I always soaked my wood chips for use on my grill, and I thought that's what you do. WRONG! You don't want extra moisture in a smoker. Free smoking tip... So the corned beef sandwich was pretty good. It was loaded with meat that was thinly sliced and very lean as it should be. The russian dressing used was not too sweet or excessive, and it had good flavor. The bread was a little mushy from the dressing, and from being put in a plastic box for 5 minutes on the drive home. The rye bread was a little on the thin side for such a big sandwich. It was the star of the day. Their signature cheesesteak minus the red sauce lacked much flavor. The cheese was almost invisible, and the meat seems to be the frozen sheets of very thin meat many places use now. It's a processed product that lacks real steak flavor and juice. Nobody shaves their own meat anymore. My mom wasn't impressed with the onion rings, and I tried one and I would agree. Way more batter than onion. I just finished making the brisket into sandwiches today for lunch. When I opened the package it seemed to be short in quantity so I put it on a scale and found that it was only 14 oz including the 1 oz of package. So I was short almost 1/4 of the pound of brisket. If you are selling a product by weight then it should be put on a scale, and clearly that was not done. It's one thing to forget putting an item in my bag, but it's another thing to short the weight of a product. That's NOT an accident! The food here was not bad, but it was not great either, and it's not anything to go out of your way to get in my opinion.
Today I did a cheesesteak crawl--Eddie's, Philly's Famous, and Forefathers--to see who really has the best in town. I ordered a classic wiz wit at each spot. Forefathers didn't hold up against the other two. It wasn't even close. The competition really came down to Eddie's vs. Philly's Famous. Both were solid, but Eddie's edged it out. Every bite was balanced, with the steak, onions, and cheese all coming through clearly. Philly's Famous was still very good, but I felt the cheese didn't stand out as much. You can't go wrong with either one, but my vote goes to Eddie's.
A small shop with very good subs! The owner is very friendly and kind as well. I tried the Philly cheese steak with mushroom and peppers, brisket sub, and the Italian beef. The Philly cheese steak was very good, I might want a little bit of extra red sauce on it, but it's a very good cheese steak as a base. The brisket sub was phenomenal with very tender and juicy brisket. The dipping sauce gives a barbecue and smoky flavor that goes well with the meat. The Italian beef was good but I think the au jus was a tad bit salty so I couldn't dip it as much as I wanted to. I definitely would come back to try their other offerings. Tad bit on the pricey side with average price of $15 per 12" sub but I'd say the quality shows.

Casual place for a quick bite. Eddie the owner is from the east coast and beyond friendly and genuinely wants to make sure you are pleased with your meal. The meatball sub is beyond amazing. The meatballs are made from scratch daily, even the sauce is made daily. Pastrami straight out of NY, brought back memories. Philly cheesesteak is equally amazing. Where do I begin?! Eddie and his team (maybe his family?) was awesome! This is a very cute little spot tucked away in a business strip mall. The decor is cool and it's authentic Philly! The sounds reminded me of when I was very young and worked at a place that specialized in cheesesteaks. This is the closest I've been able to find to that spot. The sandwiches are very good and they have many varieties. Next time I think I'll try the pulled pork tho. The fries are awesome, and I suggest you asking for extra crispy because they DO extra crispy right. Eddie was very informative about his food and they all did a great job preparing. He's also very proud of where he originates from and that his bread he has shipped in from Philly! They offer tasty cakes for desert, coca-cola products to drink, and they even have wings. We ordered through DoorDash for the first time tonight after multiple people recommended eddie's to us. SO good I cannot wait to order again. We got the cheese wiz steak, the Italian, onion rings and French fries. All of it was delicious. If I had to pick a favorite between the sandwiches it would definitely be the cheese wiz steak. The cheese wiz isn't as rich and salty as other places and it compliments the sandwich really well whereas the Italian was drier but still yummy! Everything was still warm and it was an 18 minute delivery because of traffic. We were really impressed with how they wrapped everything up. Can't wait to order again. read more

when you first walk in you get the feeling of Philly in this place great memorabilia, the service was top-notch. This was my first time here and the gentleman in front guiding me through what they had what to order for the first time it was simple but so helpful. The owner was cooking away in the back, saying hello to everybody like it was a family atmosphere Sunday morning at your friends house. I haven't even talked about the food. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak the original with fries. And I normally go to Philly famous and I think this is top-notch. The bread was phenomenal that makes the Philly. Don't walk, RUN to Eddie's. Found this place on a whim, now forever customers. Eddie and Kora went above and beyond to make us feel like family. The classic Philly & fries were the best I've had since being on the east coast. The bread (shipped in) flaky & soft and the meat literally melts in your mouth. And the cheeeeeseee is perfection. Nothing is frozen, always cooked to order (we waited 10ish minutes for a top tier sandwich). WORTH IT. Family friendly, with a Pac-Man machine and lots of old school Philly decor. PS they have red cream soda at the fountain! See you next time! read more

Eddie's is the spot--no question. This place is legit. Great food, great staff, and a super friendly vibe. The second I walked in, it felt like I was meeting up with friends, not just grabbing a bite. Honestly, if they handed me an apron, I probably would've clocked in. Now let's talk about the cheesesteak... hands down the best Philly I've ever had. No crumbs, no complaints--literally and emotionally. The roll? Perfect. Crunchy on the outside, soft as a pillow on the inside. The steak was cooked to perfection--juicy, packed with flavor, and sliced so thin I'm convinced there's some kind of wizardry happening in that kitchen. I told him to make it his way, and it came out with onions, white cheese, and yellow cheese--basically a flavor party in every bite. Each bite hit a little different, and all of them were unreal. I almost slowed down to enjoy it more... almost. Do yourself a favor and get the 12". Half to eat there, half to go--trust me, you'll thank yourself later. They'll even keep it warm while you eat, which feels like a level of care I didn't know I needed in my life. I don't know what they're doing over there, but they're doing it right. If you think you've had a great cheesesteak before... you probably haven't. Not until you've had Eddie's. 10/10 read more

There's a new Cheesesteak place in town and they are serving up a great sandwich and seasoned fries. Service with a smile and the staff is all smiles. Great bread, great chopped ribeye along with my favorite provolone add some hot peppers and off I go to food euphoria. Nice small shop with a few tables. Nice Philly reminders on the walls. Look around and take it all in while Eddie works his magic on the griddle. read more

This place probably will not be in business for a long time. The five star reviews mentioning the owner are surprising. The owner was rude and unfriendly the time we went. The place is not comfortable and not clean. The worst part of the restaurant is that you have to walk outside and around the building to enter the back door and use the only single restroom in the place which is in the storage area. The restroom is very inconvenient for someone with a disability or doesn't walk well. It might be impossible to use for someone in a wheelchair. Also the debit/credit card service fee is annoying. Cannot recommend because portions are tiny for the amount you pay. Definitely not worth the money. They charge the same prices as other cheesesteak places and chain places, but you only get 50-75% of the size/serving. The one star is because the food tastes good. read more

Went on a Saturday with a friend about 11:45. Place was packed! One of us waited in line to order and the other grabbed an open table outside in front. Took about 20 minutes to get our order. We each had the philly cheesestake. OMG! So worth the wait! The bread isn't too thick and it isn't soggy. The meat was super tender. I made it through half and took the rest home for lunch the next day. I will for sure go back again, but I will order ahead. They get their meat from a fantastic meat market: VonHansons. Next time I am going to try the Italian beef sandwich. read more

Eddie the Owner is as genuine as they come! Hands down best cheesesteak in Arizona! By far and It's not even close! Absolutely amazing! I'm from Philly and have lived in the valley for 16 years and Eddie's Philly Cheesesteak in Chandler is the best place to get as authentic of a Philly cheesesteak as you can get without having to fly to Philly. He's got Amoroso and Semolina seeded rolls to choose from but the best part is the Cooper Sharp Cheese! It's unheard of here in AZ! Bravo, Eddie! I'd compare the steak sandwich at Eddie's to a Cafe Carmela or Skinny Joey's. Absolutely Fantastic! I'll be back for sure and won't go anywhere else from now on for a Philly Cheesesteak! read more
