Ceviche they use the fake small shrimp not good at all, carne asada plate not good Meat was tender and it had a weird texture and taste. Torta adobada barely any meat It was mostly veggies. Rice dry like a two week old rice, I'm very disappointed over all with the food, I hope they really look into what they need to improve because that's not Mexican food or any good food. My family and I stopped at Casa Grande while visiting Estes Park, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We were seated quickly and enjoyed tasty margaritas, but the food was terrible. The chicken tacos tasted like canned chicken in store-bought shells, the cheese enchilada was cold and rubbery, and the sauce seemed straight from a can. The shrimp ceviche was inedible, made with tiny frozen shrimp. Living in Southern California with a Hispanic stepmom, I know authentic Mexican food -- and this was far from it. I've never, in my entire life, sent back each and every dish that was ordered. We spoke with the owner, who claimed he'd "never had a complaint in 30 years," which was hard to believe given the 2.8-star Yelp rating. We barely touched our food, asked for the check for the margaritas, but the owner insisted he didn't want our money and even made the server return the tip that we left for him (none of this was his fault). If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Estes Park, I'd recommend skipping Casa Grande and finding a local taco shop instead -- that's what we did, and it was much better! read more

Convenient place to stop in for any meal. Extensive menu everything Mexican- and other food too. Crisp Chili Rellano comes with charro beans and rice on the lunch menu until 3 pm was okay. Beans and rice was the best part. Tio Jose's plate was good coming with two chicken taquitos, tamale, cheese quesadilla. Both were good , just really overpriced for value. Service was fine, but we had to ask for water refills. Decor is all southwest- as expected. You have to pay for chips and salsa,where we are use to it being automatically brought to the table. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating and we wanted to move inside just as we were finishing. Not sure how they've accumulated so many negative reviews.... Perhaps some changes have been made recently to make it what I consider a great restaurant. Second time here; first was during the summer when admittedly they were very busy (perhaps they were trying to serve too many customers with too few employees) and then ate here yesterday with very few other folks at the time (as it was mid afternoon and winter. ) So I would say that when they have the time they put up a great Margarita and unbelievably good Quesadilla. Ordered also the quac appetizer which was fresh and probably 2-3 avocados. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Prices were in line with other restaurants in post-COVID reality. Would recommend those who had less than great experiences give them another try. read more

Loved this place! We actually stopped at Ed's Cantina first but it was incredibly loud and the menu just wasn't appealing. Left there before ordering anything. A little ways down the Riverwalk, we came to Casa Grande and decided to try it. Glad we did! The interior is very colorful and fun. The service was great and so was the food! I had the Casa Grande blue margarita. Since it's a tourist town and this was a pretty drink, I expected it would have no taste but was pleasantly surprised! Yum! For food I had the Michoacan Trio - 3 different enchiladas with 3 different sauces, and a side of rice and beans. So good! And so much food! Had to take some home with me. Hubby had the Cuban sandwich and said it was very good. I would absolutely go here again! read more

I ordered the beef enchiladas with rice and beans. It was some of the best mexican food I've had this side of the border and I would be excited to come back again! The staff was very attentive and kind, checked on us often but were not over bearing. We like this place. Whenever we are in Estes, we stop here. Today we had our elderly Pomeranian with us in his little stroller rig. We asked and they seated us outside in such a way that we could have him in his stroller on the other side of the railing. That way he was outside the restaurant but technically next to me. That worked great. My husband and I split a burrito. They are huge! We all shared the chips and queso. Good queso! The multi color chips are fun. My daughter had a burrito and my son had the taco salad. They both enjoyed their lunch. It was a lovely day. A little cool and breezy but beautiful. We will be back on our next visit. read more

Not sure why this place has 3 stars but my experience was more than I expected it to be. Being from SoCal, I refused to try any Mexican cuisine claiming to be "authentic" in CO. However, I gave this place a try on a whim. Upon arrival, my friend and I were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter, Alberto, was quick to service us and was very attentive the entire time we were there. The food was delicious and I recommend the queso fundido con chorizo! Super flavorful with a bit of spice but it's just right. For dessert we ended up getting the fried ice cream and it was amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a homey Hispanic feel as the decor reminded me of my grandparents house. This was authentic in my eyes! Restaurant is adorable!! Right on the water with great big windows. My father and I are vegetarians, and they had plenty of options for us on the menu. My dad got the enchiladas and I got the combination plate, with a burrito and a fried taco!! The fried taco was especially delicious... the burrito was okay, but it was literally just beans. For us, the portion sizes were perfect, we both finished our plates! That said, both my father and I are pretty light eaters, it may not have been enough for someone who prefers a fuller meal. Also, they don't bring chips and salsa, that's extra. I reduced a star because they don't provide chips and salsa, and also because the vegetarian burrito is quite literally just beans. Decent selection for vegetarians but not extravagant by any means. Saw a few places on the menu where there was an opportunity for them to slap a price on BEFORE the meats (they call them protein, but no option for beans for some reason) so there would be more options, but they haven't done that.
