I ate here twice a week for nearly a year while working on a project downtown and in all my years of loving Chinese food, this is as good as it gets. I remember in the 80's when Egg Roll #1 opened. Owned by a Chinese family. When they were bought by the Vietnamese family, they had the "secret" menu in addition to the Chinese (Americanized) food we all loved! The Pho is amazing! Having traveled extensively, I have had the opportunity to sample so many Pho recipes (each one is different!). Its all about the broth. I've been going to this restaurant for so long, I always greet the owners with a happy "Si-Cho!". Service is excellent and portions are good. Good value! Try it! read more

Ordered for take out for the first time tonight after hearing rave reviews. Called in a order of Cha gio, Mi Bo Kho, Thai Curry Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and a chicken teriyaki stick for our kid. My husband went to pick up the order and encountered another gentleman having issues with his order who ended up having to say "just give me whatever you have for me..." that didn't bode well but he figured it was possibly a one off, he then met with a female employee at the counter who asked for a couple of the items he ordered, he stated beef stew and Thai Curry and bubble tea order with some other items included, the woman handed him a set of bags and he left feeling assured he got what we ordered, included a decent tip for the service as well as it seemed they were having a rough night. Upon arrival home we had a couple of orders of pho that we did not order and, the only thing correct, was the Thai Curry. We were completely missing one entree we ordered as well as all appetizers. We understand a mix up can happen and did not blame the proprietor for the mix up but upon call back the female at the counter became very rude saying she read the order to my husband, she did not, and that he said it was the right order, she became defensive and confrontational, when asking what to do about our mixed up order she insisted that we had to bring the food back that we had, allow them to review what we were given, and then decide if they needed to charge us more or less for our order and give us the correct food,mentioning they closed already (closing an hour before their posted hours on all forums, again during these times that's understandable but not on a website or Facebook or any of their sites did they indicate they were closing early) but we could knock on the door and they would let us in the decide if we owed more money or not. We were looking for an apology for the mixup and an offer to make it right in someway, not a hostile employee who placed the blame on us for their incorrect service. We now have cold food not of our families palate and a very sour taste in our mouth due to the $40 out of pocket we are with one entree we ordered to feed the lot of us. With years of restaurant and customer service experience my family has an understanding of how you should treat service industry workers (with respect and understanding, always but especially during these times) but also the level of service you can expect when a mistake is made. This isn't it. We will personally never come back here, I can't speak to the quality of food because it was mostly all wrong and everything was cold, but I can speak to the level of a abysmal customer service and being absolutely robbed of our money for very little in return. I don't know why I haven't tried this place sooner! Delicious!! We walked in on a weds. At 2:00 the place was buzzing! We were. Greeted by a very friendly and helpful young woman. We placed our order and waited patiently. Out come our summer rolls. Absolutely to die for, so fresh and tasty. Then came our entree My favorite General tsos Chicken! It was delicious, the chicken was cooked perfectly, tender and moist. And the sauce was over the top Delicious! My husband had the No1 combination, also delicious. Best dumplings in my travels! Thin crunchy, yet pliable wrapper surrounding a perfectly seasoned filling comprised of what I believe to be pork and shrimp with a hint of ginger and pepper. Great sweet sauce to accompany. Our main dishes arrived quite promptly following the app. My culinary accomplice received his rare beef pho with all of the standard fixings and my Thai yellow chicken curry with fried rice came shortly after. The pho was on par with any decent vitnamese noodle soup, requiring only minor flavor modification. The rare beef was a high quality cut of meat. The yellow curry was quite rich and deep but not quite as spicy as I had hoped. The mixture of al dente green beans, sweated onions, and red potatoes was a perfect pallet for the thick coriander laced sauce. The staff was quite helpful and friendly from beginning to end. I would have given this place five stars had a roach not walked directly in front of my culinary accomplice as he prepared his soup. Complete letdown after those bangin' dumplings! read more

Stopped here on my way through town. I had the 7. Szechuan Beef, egg drop soup, crab Rangoon and fried rice. Just the right amount of food with this dinner special which was half size for 6.99. The vegetables were all fresh and done just right. My father in law had the 19. With Beef Lo Mein, this looked very good and he really liked it, so it must have been good for he usually complains about all food places. Will definitely stop again! read more

My husband thinks the Chinese here is too sweet, but my daughter and I love it! We love the fried dumplings and honey chicken; my daughter asks for Pho's #1 about once a week. We actually come here once or twice a month, though, as a mommy-daughter lunch date when we're in the area. I think next time I'll try some pho. read more

Wonder wonderful counter staff, I love them to death. The hot and sour soup is a p'ho based version very very light but it sings in your mouth. Every Chinese Joint does their S&S differently but this is more of a Vietnamese flair. There is no bad food. My only wish is that it was open Sundays. read more

Of all that is holy this place should be at the top of the list. I have literally had dreams about this place, well one dream, but you get the idea. The pho is phenomenal! I like the spicy shrimp, pork, and rice noodle, I believe it's the #29. Loaded with Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, and chili paste. There is no talking while eating here. I am too busy inhaling my soup. I almost think I might growl like a starving wolf if one were to try to take my pho away. Yeah, I could see it. The egg rolls are addictive. Thin, crispy, and full of flavor. Wrap in a piece of lettuce with tons of Thai basil, then dip in the sauce. AAHHH-MA-ZING! They are building a new store that will be much larger and only 2 doors down that should be open in 6 months we were told. When I leave here I feel pleasantly full and energized almost. This place is GREAT! I love their $3.99 lunch specials, in which you get to pick from a huge selection of entrees pictured on their wall, fried or steamed rice, your choice of soup, an egg roll or crab rangoons, and a fortune cookie. They have red sauce, hot sauce, soy sauce, and Hoisin sauce on every table, which really helps complement the flavors of the food. You order at the counter, sit down, and they bring you your food, which is a nice touch. There is also an outlet next to every table by the wall, which is helpful if you have a computer, although I'm not sure if they have wi-fi. One of my favorite Chinese places by far, and a great, quick place to go for lunch in the middle of the day! I enjoy it every bit as much, if not more, than Panda Express, and the prices are better too! It's just south of the Emerson and 465 exit, if you are going that way and need to stop for a meal. read more

The best place for Pho in Indy!! My boyfriend and I are regulars here. We can't seem to come here less than once a month. If you like Vietnamese, you'll love eggroll #1.
